Ashland Leather is so great to deal with.
I recently bought a Fat Herbie in natural shell cordovan as well as a Bugs Maron in black shell cordovan. Both are gorgeous!!!
The Bugs was just a tad too small to handle our Canadian bills so Matt agreed to make me one that is slightly larger to accommodate our currency.
Just fantastic customer service and communication the whole way. Oh and let's not forget that these wallet are heirloom quality. Simple gorgeous!!

Several years ago I bought my first Fat Herbie in shell cordovan
which I loved but at that time wasn’t sure if it was the size for me. For awhile I tried all sorts of minimalist wallets thinking that was the way to go but never really bonded with any particular one. I came back to Ashland leather and watched as many videos I could find to learn as much as I could. Then I tried a Bugs Moran in English Tan Dublin. The quality of this is just as great as my Fat Herbie, it feels so soft and smells fantastic! I’ve come to realize that I feel most comfortable with a back pocket wallet and the Fat Herbie fits that perfectly. I ended up buying another Fat Herbie, this time a shell cordovan in natural leather color. It’s larger than a standard billfold but the special layout of the credit cards makes it sit much flatter in the pocket. Since it fills most of the back pocket, you are sitting on what feels like a nice flat leather cushion instead of a thick brick. Even if you are a minimalist, Ashland leather has a wallet for you. Any style you pick you are greeted with the best smelling, softest leather and highest quality wallet you can own! I

The English Tan Dublin zipper wallet is a great quality piece that is internally intricate yet very easy to use. I keep it in my front pocket (alone) moderately stuffed with a variety of cards and cash. What I really like is the way the wallet is divided inside, allowing several different arrangements for cards and cash. Even with my big hands, it easy to get to what I want. I put an air tag in the coin pouch since I just didn’t use coins. Fits great- This wallet has got smoothest zipper I’ve ever experienced with a wallet! Incredible.

The wallet I got from Ashland Leather - a vertical Bugs Moran card holder in shell cordovan - is superb by every standard: the quality of the leather, the practicality of the sizing, the subtle color. A lot of the craft manufacturers of wallets aspire to the "luxury" label, but I don't know if any of them is producing a cordovan wallet of this caliber. Rather than spending time creating a narrative, Ashland is obviously focusing on the quality of their product.

This Apple Watch band is amazing! When you first receive this item, it is package in a beautiful stamp from Ashland. When you open this box, the watch strap is presented to you. At first when you see the watch strap it’s so shiny and thinner than I expect. If you can get the thicker version, I highly recommend it. But after a week of wearing this strap everyday. It has began its patina process. The shiny disappeared but I love my leather looking more matte and rustic! So in my opinion it even more beautiful and the thinness of the strap doesn’t seem as thin as when I first got it. I highly recommend this leather strap to anyone and with awesome quality, every penny is worth it! Keep up the beautiful masterpieces!

I have been buying Shell Cordovan wallets from Ashland Leather for years, I usually give them as prized gifts to my friends and family. But this last Fat Herbie is going to be mine, I don't have a natural shell cordovan color wallet. The quality of the manufacture is second to none, the finish is perfect and it ages very well. Also, the design is really innovative and sober. I highly recommend Ashland, besides the quality of the products, they do fast shipping and great communication.

This irregular fat herbie was my 2nd wallet from Ashland Leather. For the life of me I can’t identify why it was labeled as irregular. Once again, the quality is superb! I’ve been wanting another wallet with natural shell even though I love the amaretto shell on my first wallet. Beautiful, and the smell is again intoxicating. I keep wanting to show it off to my friends and family, which is kind of silly since it’s just a wallet. Can’t say enough good things about Ashland. If you want the best possible premium leather wallet you can get, look no further.

Really nice wallet. I’ve had many wallets through the years; Smithers and Branson, Portland leather company, Dunhill and vintage leather wallets. This wallet is one of the best, Horween leather really lives up to it good reputation as does Ashland leather. Made in USA if the finest leather, this wallet will last dorever. I had my name monogrammed on it because I’m using it for life! Fast shipping and a great price.

Ashland Leather is outstanding. I was considering a Fat Herbie in Several colors of Shell Cordovan. Matt walked me through what they had in stock and even sent pictures to choose from. I chose a wallet in Amaretto Shell. Although I didn’t bond with the color, the leather and wallet are in a category higher than I’ve seen before. Beautiful leather and great craftsmanship. Matt provided the best customer service I’ve experienced in a LONG time. He helped me set up the return and then coached me through a custom order, all while answering each of my many questions/emails on the same day I sent them. Can’t wait to see my custom order, and have already suggested Ashland to friends. Excellent experience from start to finish.

The hype is real. Maybe you heard about Ashland through an EDC channel or word of mouth, but these wallets need to be seen to be believed. I bought two of their Shell Cordovan wallets (Capone and Fat Herbie) and this is by far the highest quality leather I have ever seen or owned. The sheen is amazing right out of the box, it's incredibly soft to the touch, and the stitching is impeccable with non popped threads, no loose ends, nothing. Practical and elegant, I definitely plan on picking up another one soon.

Initially (out of the box), I gave this wallet 5/5, but after putting it altogether and using it I had to deduct a star for card slot construction. The two most interior slots are thinner than any other Ashland wallet I own in shell, and their edges have become "floppy" which may not result in a functional loss but aesthetically is distracting. Overall, I'd still buy Ashland products and this is still a beautiful wallet.

First of all the customer service is nothing less than excellent in every way from the time of response to the courtesy of wanting a new customer such as me to be comfortable and satisfied with the purchase. I am humble just by that alone and couldn’t choose better words to describe it. As far as the leather I thoroughly went through the website and also interestingly got sucked in to the YouTube videos learning more about the leather and different types. It was very informative and I felt no hesitation making the purchase I made being completely satisfied by how quick it was to arrive. The leather quality and final product is phenomenal and as wonderful as it is looks online it does no justice to the experience in person. I ended up getting the private stock Capone money clip wallet and it is wonderful. The whole experience dealing with this company and Matt who helped me has been no less than excellent. He also gave me the feeling of no hesitation if I wanted to do a custom order if I didn’t find what I was looking for and has been easy dealing with for advice. This experience and quality from start to end has gained instant loyalty to make future purchases which I most definitely will as I am interested in other products and variations.

Inquired about belt sizing before purchase. Response was quick and friendly. The excellent quality and craftsmanship of the belt were evident immediately upon opening the box. Pleasantly surprised at how soft and flexible the belt was which was unexpected as it looked stiffer online. I'm 31 waist size; the 32 belt size fit perfectly and was very comfortable, not too tight or loose probably thanks to the slight leather stretchability. The only thing is I wish the brass buckle was a satin/polished brass as shown in website pictures. What I got was more of an antique brass color which was a slight bummer but not a deal-breaker. Goodbye junky department store belts, this one's a keeper that will probably last forever! I'll be back down the road for a different color!

Service was terrific. Bought a tony the ant as my third Ashland product so Ive obviously been impressed in the past. This one just has some imperfections and slopping edging that I havent had on my previous purchases. Im also not a huge fan of the Tony layout. Cash pocket is tight and wallet has too much unused space in the center between card slots that causes the wallet to be floppy and not fold directly in half. This is perhaps a preference issue.

Of course the quality is excellent but what really stood out was the customer service. There was a problem with the shipping because of my post office and Ashland committed to making it right no matter what it took. The post office eventually found it and it was delivered. That’s how a business should be run. I am buying more and more products from businesses like this even if it cost a few dollars more. It’s worth it. Thanks again!!

I love my items. I smell my wallet at least 5 times a day :) it’s a statement piece and a reliable one at that! I’m excited to break it in.
My watch band is so Pliable and comfortable
Maybe replace the rubber bands that held my 3 items together with a light cheap twine with the Ashland gift tag on it or maybe thin strips of leather as string. Because of how nice the presentation is ,the rubber band throws it off. But that’s just my thought.
Your team responded to my email to upgrade my wallet with haste and made that process of swapping the items super simple and respectful.

I have purchased several wallets from Ashland Leather and have been very happy with all of them. They have some great designs and the craftsmanship is outstanding. What I mean is that the Horween leather is the best in the business and the stitchwork is great. No crooked stitches, no issues with the leather, everything is the way you would expect it to be. I've purchased a couple of items that were discounted because they were supposed to have a small irregularity. In this case, one can see photos of the exact item they are purchasing and I couldn't see any problems. When I received the items, the same was true in person. I still don't know why the items were discounted. So, I would highly recommend reviewing the photos of "irregular" items. You will probably find something that you like and save a little at the same time. When I order from Ashland, I have no concern over the quality of the item that I will receive. If it's not perfect, they don't send it out! That's the way it's supposed to be.

I have been browsing and dreaming of purchasing a Tony The Ant in Shell Cordovan Color #8 for almost 5 years. My middle school threw high school sweetheart and I reconnected after nearly 20 years and she convinced me to treat myself to the wallet. If I needed an excuse I turned 40 in January and its a perfect year to carry a new wallet that I’ll have forever. 5 years I’ve been waiting and I was taken back at how much I’ve truly enjoyed this from the moment I opened the box. It’s a sentimental piece for me. I am in Austin, Texas thriving in the culinary world, hosting a successful podcast called Austin All Day. I am very happy with where I am at 40 but I grew up in the Chicagoland area and I am very proud of that. Every time I open this wonderfully crafted wallet I get a little reminder of my stomping grounds. I want to thank you for doing what you do. Kudos!

I love this little guy. Since I don't know if I'll ever have shell cordovan boots, I went for the green shell and don't regret it.
It has a wonderfully supple yet strong feel in hand, and the hardware looks nice. I uploaded some pictures to try and show off the color, which is fantastic.
I'll echo another review I read and say the only downside is it's a little hard to snap shut. I think this is mostly because it's only backing is odd shaped keys, but I wouldn't change it at all.

Great quality product at a fair price for what you are getting. The build quality and craftsmanship that designer brands used to have. I love the personal interaction. I look forward to ordering more. I already know I will be ordering a wallet next. I am leaning towards a Tall Herbie with an extra bill slot on the back, but keep changing my mind on the leather with each video I watch. Thank you for providing quality products.
