Zero Help and Fee Hungry
I recently received a check for $3,000 dollars which I desperately needed to pay my bills. I deposited the check and the funds were held for 10 days. Now understand I never had a bad deposit and the check cleared my clients account within 48 hours. Because of the hold the bank bounced 8 payments that I made on time... well I thought on time. Bank of Ripoff America then charged me $35, eight times because of the hold of the check. Understand Bank of Ripoff America had the funds in there system but would not release them to me. I now have double fees from my billing companies and over $300 in fees from Bank of Ripoff America. I went to the bank. The Bank Manger Sonia told me to call the 800 number and she couldn't help me. She explained banking was risk and the check Bank of America secred the funds on was a rusk. I called the 800 number ran through that ridiculous treadmill, eventually talked to a supervisor and got ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE except they did say have a nice day at the end of the call. Bank of Rip Off America is only interested in fees on regular Americans trying to make ends meet. Shame on Bank of America!

FRAUD! SCAMMERS! VICTIM!
Im currently dealing with fraud on my account that if I could have stopped I would have! Due to the fact that it WAS NOT MY FAULT that scammers, hackers, and thief's have robbed me blind and thrown my account in the negative and the fact that my account is ELIGIBLE to be credited my funds back during the process of the claim being settled and it currently days later isn't is HUGE disappointment to me! I feel my family and I are being punished for someone else's wrongful behavior! Ive been mislead by multiple representatives who have all promised and told me something different! BOA definitely lacks in the field of FRAUD! I am starting to feel as if Bank of America are on the side with the thief's and scammers which to me is a pitiful shame! I'm lost for words at this moment and feel as if they care absolutely NOTHING about their customers! These claims where filed via phone on December 3RD 2021 at approximatley 1pm my account is still in the negative my money is gone and they are now telling me funds would be credidted to my account on December 17th 2021 which is just not fair! Highly dissapointed and MOST DEFINITELY NOT satisfied with the service I have been provided during this tragedy! On 12/8/21 which was yesterday I was promised by ANOTHER rep that I would see the funds in my account within the next hour YESTERDAY witch turned out to be ANOTHER LIE! I'm furious and livid at the point!

They dropped me as a client over 42 cents
I accidentally wrote a check for 42 cents more than my account balance so the bank covered it and understandably charged a $35 Overdraft fee. I asked them to reconsider because it was a matter of pennies and an honest mistake. To my surprise, Bank of America refunded it... but not before slapping on another $35 fee for not having deposited the 42 cents on time. (They apparently gave me 5 days to do so and that was the time between me realizing the issue and the end of exchanging emails via their site.)

I told them I'm in Canada, had no PayPal funds at the moment, so there was no way to deposit anything for a few more days. They said I could make a formal request to refund the second $35, but upon me asking they could not guarantee that the request would be fulfilled. It sounded like a ruse and I ended up putting the ball in their court and told them to decide: A) Keep me as a client, wait a few days for a deposit, and refund the second $35 or B) Drop me as a client and I still wouldn't pay the $35.

Their reply? Goodbye!

A great example of corporate arrogance and not caring about the little guy.

The Absolute WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS IN THE WORLD let alone the hold it places on transfers!
I have no choice but to use BOA because I'm currently disabled and biweekly benefits are paid through BOA. BOA the sends you prepaid debit card, I then TRY to add my bank to account to have funds transferred. WHOA WHOA...! I call and have to call again and have to call again because each and every time the phone disconnects. Finally someone may answer only to put me on hold and then hang up. I finally think Im getting somewhere and she come back on the line and says "Um, you've tried to log on too many times and your account is now locked for 24 hours and theres nothing we can do about it"... OK... um you didnt know that 15 minutes ago? On top of that I know my user and password, it was locked before I even tried to log on initially.

Keep in mind these are disability payments and some of us know how long it takes to have disability approved. I need my money, I have bills to pay but most of all ITS MY MONEY and I've already waited long enough. Someone should be able to

ANY CONTACT WITH THIS DESPICABLE BANK IS TOO MUCH
I was forced to go to Bank of America because I was handed a check drawn on the bank. Bank of America refused to honor their own check. Bank of America is holding my funds hostage because Bank of America don't have any money in their branches. I waited 35 minutes outside in the rain to even get in to the branch, and was treated worse than sewage. How is this Bank allowed to continue in business? I terminated my relationship with Bank of America in 2004 when I couldn't get the Bank to stop its dishonest employees from stealing my money. As an attorney, insurance companies on settlements typically put my name on drafts, so I have to go to the bank and make sure the check is paid to the client. I went to the same bank branch where the client has an account, presented the draft with the client's endorsement, showed the client's consent, and showed my identification to have the check deposited. After wasting my time, and refusing to make a copy of the draft because the branch didn't have any paper in its copy machine and no paper anywhere in the branch, and after being repeatedly disrespected and insulted, I was told to go get my signature guaranteed from my own bank. I said, "you know, that is not necessary", but I got an earful of funk. So, I drove around, spent another hour and had my own bank tell me that they haven't guaranteed a signature in 11 years, and that the Bank of America refusing to deposit the check was lying to me. My own bank told me to go to the Bank of America next door, which I did, and they did what the actual branch with my client's accounts refused to do. Neither the branch manager or the assistant branch manager was even in the first branch of Bank of America. My bank told me that there are a lot of very racist Bank of America employees who hate Whites. This from nonWhites at my bank! Oooh, la, la.

They are going to keep my money for 2 months!
We made our normal online payment to our credit card. We then a few days later charged a small amount on that card and it was declined! We then called Bank of America to see what happened and get the situation resolved. So why am I giving this review? Their website made the payment to one of our accounts that had been canceled since 1998, 5 years that account had been closed! I called and Bank of America told me that they would fix the problem, I said great. But wait, they then said it would take 2 months to get our money back so we could make the payment or, would you transfer that amount out of our closed account and in just within1 or 2 days, get this fixed and back to our current credit card account. You would think they would say; "certainly sir, we'll get right on that and should all be fixed in the next business day. But no, they did not say that! I had the first person I talked with over the same call, then Had to end up insisting to be transfered to get to a supervisor, and then I had to insist even harder to get a manager so we could fix this fast. In the end I could not get them to budge, they would not do it so now for the next 2 months they get the use of my money, and it was a good size amount of money, they get to put it in their pot and make money with our money! It's wrong that they treated me this way whether a new customer to them or since 1995 like us. We are looking to move our account to a credit Union once this is fixed!

Outrageous business practices!
I have been a long term good standing BOA customer for many years. I opened a checking, savings, business, and had 3 credit cards with them. In the last 6 months (during the corona pandemic) Bank of America went ahead and cancelled all my credit cards. They sent me a letter listing several generic reasons why they made the decision to close my credit cards. I was really upset after they closed my last one and decided to call they and none of the reps knew what to tell me so they kept transferring me around. I finally spoke to a Supervisor and explained my situation and told him that I either needed a valid reason why my cards were cancelled or needed them to reopen one of my cards. The "Supervisor" very rudely told me that they have the right to close my account for whatever reason and that they will not be reopening any of my accounts. This is the way BOA treats their customers especially in a time were we need all the financial support we can get. I am completely dissapointed with BOA and will be closing the rest of my accounts and opening with another bank asap.

I have had it with Bank of America!
I have had it with Bank of America! I couldn't even sign into my online banking! I typed in my password (which I KNOW is my password) and it said Invalid. Then I tried every OTHER possible password it could be (yeah, all of 3) and it wasn't those. Then I went to reset it even though I know there's already a problem if it doesn't recognize my password... and it doesn't recognize my bank card number OR my pin! Just out of the blue - all of a sudden. I checked my statements from the past 2 months (since the last time I was successfully able to log on to BOA) and everything checks out. So it's not like someone hacked my account (and if Bank of America did, they wouldn't CHANGE my info lol who does that. They would just take money) so it's just some kind of fu*k up on their part. So I called the customer service number, they have an automated system that NEVER ENDS, so when i FINALLY get to the option of Online Banking, Change Passcode... it tells me no one is available until tomorrow at 9am! IDIOTS! THEY SHOULD HAVE 24 HOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE! WHAT IF SOMEONE IS HACKING INTO MY ACCOUNT AND I CAN'T EVEN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNTIL TEN HOURS FROM NOW? If someone effed with my account and I had no way to contact BOA about it, THEY'RE GONNA PAY!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE- mobile banking is great but anything else is ATROCIOUS
I am a loyal BofA client--- have been ever since I left the nest and went to college many years ago. Make all my payments on time for my credit card- never spend more than I can pay off right away- and have been a"Preferred Rewards" client for most of my time. Opened up a HELOC- then with low interest rates am refinancing my home loan with another bank. New bank is fantastic- always answering when I call- calling me often to check on things- and Bank of America go to ask BofA to subordinate- that is when all hell breaks lose. I've gone into local branches multiple times- asked for help- no one can help. They can't even reach their own subordination team- had one of the admin on hold for HOURS before he called me back to say he got nowhere. They are so big they cannot even reach their own departments on special associate's lines. Mobile banking- fantastic- but everything else is crap. Now I'm working to get my subordination fee back as they have done nothing to help me get this resolved- and while the local branch staff have said they will refund the $250- they have to do it through the subordination staff- who, you guessed it, just called and told me it is a nonrefundable fee... HERE I GO AGAIN back to the local branch.

Worst Bank EVER
You cannot get in touch with a human at any of the branches located in Miami, Florida. The telephone numbers Bank of America publish are non-working numbers.

When you call the 1-800-numbers, you are better off calling a pizza place to have them help you with your bank needs. This 800 number they provide you with, will transfer you from one location, to another location, to another location, then Tampa, then Jacksonville, then back to Tampa and finally will disconnect the call. By the time you figure out the first department you were connected to, you will be so dizzy that you won't know if you were talking to a man, a child or a woman. A child would probably have better manners, ALAS, you were talking to someone who hates their job.

Whether is a new ATM card, the need for a new bank account, or the need to withdraw money, you will not find anyone willing or knowledgeable enough to assist you. DO NOT, fair warning, try to even apply or ask for a home loan. They will pluck you to death for 3 to 6 months and then disappear after you have submitted blood samples and your first born. And if you're looking for a business loan, let's say, $10,000 business loan, you need to deposit a CD of $10,000 with them and then they will give you a loan... WHATT? AWFUL customer service.

BOA Scams Small Businesses On PPP Loans
BOA has issued loans under PPP CARES act and then only offered partial forgiveness. Loans under the SBA were granted when Bank of America matched your payroll and filed taxes. BOA has failed to issue full forgiveness to thousands of their own customers, & is timing out the option to have them be forgiven. They are offering about 60% forgiveness according to the SBA. The SBA offered a direct forgiveness portal, which BOA will not opt into so their own customers can get the loans forgiven in full. This is not legal, and they are targeting the loan recepients trying to force them to repay the loans taken out in good faith. Forbes did an article on this and despite SBA saying billions of dollars are left to be forgiven, BOA is billing themselves for hours and stalling loan forgiveness. Many loans come due in October 2021, and the loans need to be approved for forgiveness before then. Megan Scholz VP in NC, has removed my loan from forgiveness for being mad at my right to seek full forgiveness. This is not legal. They have traumatized 50 states of people that are holding on to their businesses by a thread. BOA cannot do this and despite hours of efforts, their greed and overbilling, plus 1% interest they are trying to earn on unforgiven balances is taking priority over the right of the borrowers. 99% of loan borrowers used the loans to stay afloat. They are targeting these people to scam them out of being able to survive and owing back money that was told to be forgiven. My loan was on its way to forgiveness, and Megan Scholz withdrew the application (not legal) and then wrote me that my forgiveness amount was "0". This has to be stopped and fixed, there are thousands of business owners suffering the same fate. Forbes article here I ache for myself and other innocent businesses, trying to provide retail services to the public, and being targeted during a crisis, by the bank. https://www.forbes.com/sites/kotlikoff/2020/07/13/another-horrific-bank-of-ameri...

Holding my money, closing your banks without notifying your customers
The worst place to Bank. So, I have had my personal account and a nonprofit account with Bank of America for 15 years. For the past 2 years, I added 4 more businesses and of course want to deal with only one bank, that is Bank of America. Unfortunately, this is the worst Bank you can have an account with. Bank of America have been declining my transactions and froze one of my business accounts and I can not pay bills, my payroll, and when I called them asked them they have no answers. They said their back end made that decision. How could a Bank make that decision without even notifying me? That should be illegal. It has been one week. I decide to close my account and open up an account with another Bank. So, went to the banks close to me that are all closed, shut down. No, money in ATM. Now, my money in the bank and I can not even withdraw money to pay my bills and staff. Wow... shame on you guys for not giving a dam about your customers and making a decision and holding people's money because you can do this.

Thief's all the way. Stay away from this bank! (money grubbers)
I have to say BOA is the one most self centered banks out there - Does not care about their customers, you wait on hold for a long time, sometimes disconnects you, and you get representatives who have a chip on their shoulder and rude! I would have to say in my opinion I would not use this bank. I currently have an account with them but am closing it soon as you should too. Bank of America hound you with fees, and they don't as a courtesy reverse anything without more in less scolding you and giving you a lecture. They had law suits filed by many customers in the past for all the fees this bank has taken from people. They are the WORST bank and don't care about customers---

I don't take it lightly when I asked as a courtesy if you could reverse my first ever fee on this account but they would not budge or help out in any way because I overdraw my account to get some medicine and things I needed. But they would not reverse a fee for me -- they are money hungry and very bad with customer service and helping out their customers. I do hope they lose more clients and that others will wake up to there is more great banks with great reputations that actually care about their customers.

The Bank that Nearly Sank America is Still One of Its Worst
Today was a good day. I finally paid off a low-interest (because I got it so long ago) card I have had several years with BOA. Of all the banks I have had, good times and bad, recessions and booms, this Bank has been the meanest, least honest, and "most-gouging" of the average consumer, bar none in my experience. I never missed a payment, always kept under my credit limit, but this Bank constantly lowered my credit limit when I was only able to pay close to the minimums for a couple of years (2008-2010), even though, as I said, I was always paying it and other bills down faithfully and i never screwed them. Bank of America made money off of me. The effect of their relentless behavior was to lower my credit score because of "credit utilization" ratio. By lowering my ceiling again and again, even though I was reducing my balance every month, they caused my score to go down and led other banks to increase my interest rates with them - which of course BOA also did itself (to help them at the expense of the average person, who did not cause the crash - they did). This mirrored their fundamental behavior toward the rest of the country - in the 2008 financial collapse, BOA was a the heart of the problem, perhaps more than any other bank, they helped to cause the collapse. And they screwed millions of people, for years. Their executives, of course, did not suffer. As the economy finally got back on its feet in the Obama years, this megabank resumed all of its anti-customer habits and and some reputation of general bad service. SO today, when I closed this account, I looked on the website to see where I could register a complaint about the service (not even about the big bad history I wrote about above, just their present service), and NOWHERE can you do that. They have pages bragging about how much they "give" to "the community," how nauseatingly politically correct they are, how great and noble their "history" is (highly edited, like North Korea), etc. Want to contact them? About anything? Every thing is a page or a link to a promotion to buy something; everything is a come-on; it is relentless. This is a perfect example of why the megabanks need to be brought down. I have heard and read all the "arguments" (excuses) why America "needs" megabanks, but it's economic drivel, meant to scare people. We - real people, workers in the economy - would be vastly better off if the big banks were broken up. And as to needing megabanks to leverage big capital projects, the wealth that is in the hands of America's "other banks" and millions of investors can be summoned for that, as it has been before the existence of megabanks. The megabank crowd also likes to play the China card (even though they themselves are totally wrapped up with the Chinese, as megabanks are so incestuous) that America needs "American" banks. These banks are about as "American" as the North Pole - that is, not at all - no nation, no loyalty. So glad I am now to be free of them - and of Chase, and of the equally venal Citibank: thieves, masquerading as "creators" and "financial innovators." That is polemical smoke to confuse people, no reality at all.

Would give a " 0 " score if possible. BOA penalizes their responsible customers!
I would give a *0 if possible. Wife was penalized for being responsible. 20 year customer, started with $4k limit, wife worked hard over 20 years to improve credit to just a couple points from perfect and BOA had raised limit to $24k. Bank of America just cancelled her account for inactivity with No warning letter, No email, No notice at all. Most companies give a warning letter to allow you make sure it doesnt get cancelled. Now this will affect her credit score she worked years to improve. Debt to income ratio. No help what so ever from customer service. I will be writing bad reviews on BOA often to make sure potential customers see how they penalize their responsible customers and maybe to get customers to drop BOA. Penalized for being responsible is ridiculous, we would have charged thousands to keep that active but no notice, no nothing... just cancelled. Terrible job BOA, shame on you. I hope you lose many customers from all the reviews your about to receive from us. Don't use BOA. Go to Bank of Oz (great bank). Shame on you Bank of America! Penalizing a 20 year customer for being responsible with their finances. Geeze!

WORST BANK
My name is Sonia Quintero and I have been a client from Bank of America for 18 years and I think it is incredibly disrespectful and embarrassing how this bank goes out of their way to take advantage of their clients and how poorly Bank of America treat you in the customer service front for the sake of lining their own pockets. About a week ago, I deposited a large sum of money in my savings that my brother gave to me for the sake of my livelihood. My check was placed on hold, despite the teller telling me that there was no hold on my account. Now, conveniently there is a hold on my money until January 5,2022. When I went to call, the lady was extremely disrespectful, and said that the bank did not have my money, even though I had deposited the check myself. To make matters even worse, they wanted to charge me a maintenance fee for not having the amount needed in that account, even though I already deposited it a while ago. That money was taken out of my brothers account that same day that I deposited that check, so I don't understand how this bank all of a sudden doesn't have MY money, and yet they wanna charge me for stealing MY money. I am completely shocked at how badly I was treated, when it is the banks fault that they are incredibly inadequate and like to play with their customers money. That is corrupt and incredibly disgusting. That is my rent money, but some pig decided to use it because they think they have jurisdiction over someone else's money. Horrible bank! Once my money is made available, I will make sure I can change to another bank, as I don't want people stealing my money. I'm writing this to warn people that their money is as risk. They will use and steal your money because they do not care what happens to you. Disgusting!

My banking card is expiring this month
My banking card is expiring this month. Still haven't received my new card, it already 07/22/11. Chatted with a costumer service rep in their website. Told me it has been mailed on 07/09/11 and itll take 5-7 business days for the card to arrive. Bank of America have no clue what happened to my card.

WHO SENDS A BANKING CARD THROUGH MAIL, NO TRACKING NUMBER, NO PROOF OF DELIVERY, NO SECURITY!

So B of A cancelled/block my supposedly new card, and ordered another new card that has a different account number to my expiring card. Rep told me another 5-7 business days to arrive, during these days no banking card to use.

Fine! But I realized, why can't they send it through Fedex or UPS 2nd day with tracking number, it'll not hurt their business. So chatted again with B of A rep. She told me that I could have asked for the rush service when I ordered the card. What the f...! THEY NEVER OFFERED TO ME THE RUSH SERVICE OPTION, HOW WOULD I KNOW THAT IT EXISTS!

I'll see if I will be able to receive my new card on time, 2nd day Fedex. If not I will close all my accounts on Bank of America! I'll let you all know!

LET'S SUPPORT SMALL BANKS, TO KEEP THESE GIANT BLOODSUCKING BANKS FROM GETTING OUR MONEY. POOR SERVICE, NO CONCERN FOR COSTUMERS SAFETY!

Horrible Business
I just recently moved to Nebraska from New York, I opened due to the COVID I lost my job, and life, So I moved to Nebraska with my grandchildren and son who serves in the United States Air Force to get back on my feet. I found a work from home job, in order for me to get paid I had to have direct deposit so I opened an account online with Bank Of America. My first check went direct deposit. When I signed into my account I accidently put in the wrong code, Bank of America locked out and told me to call a number. When I called the number they told me that they believed that there was some fraud going on and I needed to go into the branch and show identity. Well unfortunately there are no branches close to were I live, so I can't come into the branch. I explained to them the whole situation and told them that I needed my money so I can live. And even broke down and cried. I don't at this point have any money and am broke. I need my money and my first check got deposited in this account at BOA. THEY TOLD ME I'M NOT WHO I AM AND CLOSED MY ACCOUNT and said they'll mail me a check. What am I to do for 10 days waiting for that check to come in the mail. I need gas to go cash it. Wtf. Bad business so now because they think I'm a fraud I have to wait for them to send me my hard working money. It's not okay.

They Make it Absolutely Exhausting to Try to Dispute a Credit Card Transaction
The arrogance and incompetence is off the charts here. After my issue is resolved, I will not be using this credit card or bank anymore.

Their online system for filing a credit card dispute is ridiculous. You can't simply type out your complaint and send your supporting documents. Instead, you have to use very limited checkboxes and explain the problem in only 150 characters (that is characters, not words). There is no way to include any supporting documentation.

So I called but after a long wait, the representative had only the same system to work with herself. I called two more times over the next few days because no details showed up and I had no idea what was going on.

Lots more waiting and being passed around. I had to repeat the same thing over and over and got the same result, which was- not much. Now must wait up to a MONTH for the credit card company to respond to BOA before I can give any more details about my case, assuming I am even given that chance at last. I also can not contact the credit card company (Visa) directly instead, I'm told. Was told I'd have to mail or fax supporting documentation, if Bank of America ever deigned to request it. Because, you know, it is 1972, after all... It's all just too nonsensical and exhausting, especially when it's on top of dealing with another ridiculous company already.

This is especially nasty since the original issue is that Costco.com delivered a shattered TV and repeatedly refuses to pick it up (going on 3 weeks now). They say they will come out repeatedly but never do and refuse to give me a time or date. They are holding my money in the meantime and say I will only get three chances for pickup. So for three entire weeks, we've had to had one of us get up and dressed early in case they deign to knock on the door, can't both go out alone if we need to leave the house, etc. We are sort of being held hostage and now we can expect 30 more days of this because our bank is just as arrogant and incompetent as Costco.

Bottom line, they really do all they can to encourage you to just go away. So I guess I will!
