Kept Promising part would be shipped
I ordered parts for my water pump on Tuesday 8/9. After the order was placed my order status showed one part was back ordered until Friday. It showed in stock when I placed my order. I live chatted with customer service on Wednesday 8/10 who said the part had to be shipped from the manufacturer and should be in on Thursday. He said I could overnight the part for Friday 8/12 delivery for $15. The part wasn't there on Thursday, so I called Friday. Boats.net were waiting on the truck to arrive, so I asked about setting up overnight delivery, but since it would be Saturday 8/13 they wanted to charge me $85. I declined. On Monday, 8/15 I chatted with Jonathan who told me the part had been shipped from Mercury and should be to boats.net on Tuesday 8/16. I chatted with a different Jonathan on Tuesday, 8/16 who told me my order had shipped in full. Later that evening I received an email from boats.net stating that everything but the back ordered part had shipped and it wouldn't be available until the next Friday, 8/19... a whopping 10 days after I ordered it in the middle of boating season. I finally cancelled the order for the part and pay extra shipping from another company in order to get the parts on 8/18 so I can boat this weekend. I will never use boat.net again. My experience was horrible.

I ordered a water pump for $41.00 and some other parts...
I ordered a water pump for $41.00 and some other parts for a total of $75.00 and some change. When i opened the package which appeared to be undamaged I saw the water pump repair kit box appeared to torn at the top and it was missing a critical gasket made for that kit. I have used this same kit in the past and that gasket must be used with the kit, it is made special for the kit. I contacted boats.net through their online agent but did not receive a response. I called on the phone and was transferred to a parts technician who finally after almost 15 minutes picked up the phone. I explained what I found and that there was a piece missing out of the kit. I was told that part should have been in the box. I assured him it was not. He also told me that that part is not available separately from the kit. He put me on hold to ask his supervisor if he should send out another kit. Came back and said I would need to send them pictures because Boats.net needed to verify the open box before they could do anything. Huh? Why not just take the gasket out of another kit and send that to me and problem solved? Nope. I lost it at that point and said I would get the missing part myself somewhere else and they had just lost a customer. I did finally get a response from the online agent, two days later. Their response was that the online agent spoke to a parts technician and the technician stated a gasket doesn't come with the kit. I will not use them again, not because a small part was missing but based on the incompetent responses I received while just trying to get what I paid for indicates to me that they are not going to rectify a problem without a major hassle if at all and I cannot trust them.

Well beyond average!
My initial order was promptly delivered (ahead of estimated time) and consisted of all new Honda OEM parts as described. Unfortunately one of the parts was defective so I reached out to Boats.net and Boats.net shipped out the replacement part (Boat fuel pump) the next day! I didn't even have the defective part ready to ship back to them at that point. Anyway, the replacement part worked great and I returned the faulty pump. I can't state how strongly I appreciate Great Customer Service, especially during these difficult times (8/2020). I will recommend Boats.net to everyone!
Thanks for the Awesome service,
Tom

Deceiving website, check to see what you are getting before you purchase
I placed an order and this is what the website stated that I ordered.

"332723051 TOHATSU PREMIUM TCW3 OIL (4-GALLONS)-SHIPPING WEIGHT 29 LBS. (Tohatsu) $110.12"

When I received the box I could tell it was small. I opened it up and there was only 1 gallon of oil in it. I called customer service and Boats.net said "That is the description that Tohatsu provides because that is how they ship it to us. However, we only sell it in 1 gallon increments." I told them "That is not what the description is. The description states that I get 4 gallons and that the shipping weight is 29 pounds." They said "We know we have asked Tohatsu to remove this language but they won't" When I asked what they could do for me they said I could return the product but they wouldn't refund shipping. Such a complete scam. They could add the language themselves stating that you will only get 1 gallon of oil!

Price Match Guarantee
Bought a Lower Unit for $3601 then found a $190 lesser unit. Supv. Tried everything he could to discredit the lesser price but could not legitimately. Then emails went unanswered. Ignoring of emails is an apparent company practice and an example of the company price match guarantee policy of we will gladly match the lower price". Their apparent misguided attempt to save the company $190 on a $3600 purchase will only cost them tens of thousands of dollars in future revenue in coming years. It also creates more negative publicity over the internet through social media and more lost sales, from people who have had enough with companies who try and hide behind the internet. BBB complaint also went unanswered.

DO NOT NOT NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD!
May 10 ordered parts. Auto email says may be 2-3 days delay. OK Coronavirus - understandable. Next day, email received: one part not in stock will have on May 13. Next day, new email, same part - say Boats.net will have it on May 14. May 15 - 19 no change, no shipment, no communication. I send an email and get an auto response that it may take 3-4 days to get a real response but here's a phone number if you really want to talk to us. I try to call the number and they are closed except very limited hours. Fine I try again after 10 am and the auto phone system says I am #125 in line. Auto phone system offers option for them to call me back when it is my turn. I try that but it doesn't respond. I wait 20 minutes and I have moved from 125 to 111. I am at work, I can't wait any longer. Of course they are only open in hours that I am at work. Tried a few more times to reach them by phone - no way to get someone on the line. I have sent them THREE Emails asking them to cancel my order. I have picked up the parts locally and don't need them anymore. Nine days now and they have NEVER responded to any of my emails. Yesterday they send an email that my order has been shipped. This is not just REALLY BAD SERVICE, it is CRIMINAL and FRAUD. They are not even trying to deliver parts within the time frame they claim. How can any company operate a website that takes your credit card and then prevent any communication from customers? I had a good experience with this company a few years ago but I will never use them again. Consider yourself warned.

Just awful
Just awful. Guy I talked to in customer service was a complete idiot, I'm surprised he even knew which end of the phone receiver to speak into.

Yes--Boats.net have low prices. But what they don't mention is that they carry virtually no stock--so anything you order will have to be special ordered from the suppliers. Is it really that hard to include information on their web catalog for which items are in stock? Seriously, it's like being transported back to 1999 web shopping.

Knowing this, I called ahead for my most recent order and asked their salesperson (i. E., village idiot referred to above) whether a couple items were in stock. He mumbled 'we could get them in 2-3 days'. Over the next 48 hrs, I received several notices informing me that the shipping date was pushed back progressively later and later. At that point, the items would no longer be of use for me, so I requested that one particular item be removed from my order. That's when they hit you with the 'restocking fee' (which is ~20% of the item cost!).

Never again. Seriously. Just don't do it.

I had a bad experience with boats.net
I had a bad experience with boats.net. My first order did not provided the expected email confirmation like the site said would happen. I waited a couple days and reordered my items(with email confirmation this time) and called customer service. Boats.net stated there was only one order was placed. Of course they asked for thr first order number that i did not have because i lacked the confirmation number. They clear either did not listen or understand the problem. I gave up trying to explain my concern there were two orders in the system, they were clearly not interested in talking with me.
When BOTH shipments came to my door (two weeks later) I called again to explain the problem. The said just put an "r" at the end of the order and ship it back. My credit took two months to receive and then they charged me a restocking fee for a mistake their site caused.

Customer service was horrible with respect to order information and they clearly don't know how to navigate their own accounting software

I'll always order from Evinrude directly now, they are faster and has better service

HORRIBLE!
HORRIBLE! TERRIBLE! DECEITFUL! UTTERLY DISGUSTED WITH THIS COMPANY! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!
Ordered almost $300 worth of parts... 14 days later and at least 5 calls/2 voicemails I've received only half of it. Heard numerous different stories of why it had not shipped yet and this last one was "Your backorders came in a few days ago but we just got a huge Evinrude order and we need to get to that first... It might ship in the next few days". I've asked for return calls with order status with 3 CSR's, all have taken my number, none have returned my calls. Zero professionalism with this company, managers don't care about you and neither does the customer service department.

Horrible Customer Service Lies Long Waits for parts
Normally I order parts from Crowley Marine, however, boats.net was slightly cheaper so I figured I would give them a try. I called to verify which parts I needed and was given the wrong part numbers. After my own research I found the correct numbers. I called the customer service to verify the avaiability before placing my order. She stated all parts were in stock except for a 1.09 o ring which would have to come direct from Mercury out of Wisconsin, but Boats.net had it in stock, 2 or 3 business days max to get that, everything else they had. I place the order early in the morning 9-5-18 The 8th I get a email saying it will be ready the 12th. On the 14th I get a email saying they are going to ship the in stock parts (9 days later) and the out of stock o ring the 17th. On the 15th (supposedly) they shipped my package of instock parts ( now 10 days after my order). The 15th in the morning, I called, same song and dance, the manufacture has it in stock, in Wisconsin, as soon as they ship it, I will get it 2 or 3 days tops. The eta was the 18th at the latest. Then later on that day on the 15th i get a email saying it will be the 20th for the o ring. As of the 17th now (12 days after I placed my order) I still dont have my parts, the instock items, still in transit. Bottom line is it took them 10 days to ship my instock parts(which I still as of right now 12 days later still dont have and they continually lied about the ship date of their out of stock parts. Lesson learned pay a little more and get what you need. My boat has been broke down now over half a month for a simple sea pump. I ordered the infamous o ring from crowley (who didnt have it in stock) but even so they shipped it direct from the manufacture within hours, it will probably come before my parts from here.

Do NOT do Business with this company!
I ordered 6 sparks plugs from boats.net and only received one. I have been in constant contact with customer service via email with no satisfaction and at this point Boats.net have ceased communication with me. When I first searched for my part number on their website (QC12PEPB), it came up with this: http://www.boats.net/search/?q=QC12PEPB+ On this page, it clearly shows "QC12PEPB Spark Plug, 6/Box", once in the web page title (In the tab of the browser, and once again in 16.5 font size on the main page). AFTER I made my complaint, they changed the Description in the web page to "PRICED
PER PLUG" as seen here: http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/accessories/R-1383667.html The customer service rep says that they did not make any changes to this page, however, I know that the "PRICED PER PLUG" was NOT on the web page at the time of purchase and they obviously made the change after my complaint which I feel is false advertising.
As of now, they STILL have 'Spark Plug, 6/Box in 3 places on the web page which I feel needs to be removed to prevent confusion in the future, however, they are telling me they can't change it which I find hard to believe.

Ultimately, I do not think they handled the situation well at all. They will not make things right: Fix the issue on their website regarding quantity and ship me the additional 5 spark plugs. Ceasing communications with me is not professional at all.

Dissatisfied
The manager that I spoke to yesterday would not help me get an order that was 11 days past and still wasn't shipped due to back ordered part. He told me it was at the warehouse and he couldn't due anything to help. He wouldn't call on my behalf and expedite my long over due order. I explained that my customer was mad and about to take the repair somewhere else. He didn't care. At the end of conversation of me pleading for some help, he said to me " if I see your order around I will try to get it going." Just wow! If you research my purchase history you can see it's extensive. If I lose this customer over this you will lose a customer! I have been paying for expedited packages, but there is no hurry on your behalf. But if I don't pay the expedited shipping Boats.net hold the order up even longer. Your shipping department has gone down hill in the last 6 months. SIM Yamaha is looking better every day!

Dealer problems
I am a dealer of two brands of outboard motors. When I need parts for other brands, such as Yamaha, I like to use OEM parts instead of aftermarket. In July I ordered water pumps parts and received something entirely different than what I ordered. The paperwork was correct but the parts were wrong. After 2 calls and 2 emails I still have not gotten any satisfaction to my claim. The first call I was 158 on hold, the second time number 75, as a business owner I can't stay on hold for hours! I did receive an email back questioning my problem but to no avail. I realize Covid has screwed up our entire lives and world, but I would like to get my money back for these wrong parts.

Doesn't get any worse than this. Stay away!
I ordered several parts at once as I was rebuilding my motorcycle. On their website, Boats.net claimed that everything was in stock and is ready to ship in 2-3 days. FALSE! It's two weeks already and I just now received a partial shipment. I called them several times and nobody seems to know anything about anything. Finally someone promised me that they will ship what they have and another part will be shipped the next day, which never happened either. And now they are saying that their policy doesn't allow more than one partial shipment and blablabla. Basically in short: this company is unprofessional, not courteous and not at all punctual.

Communication horrible do not trust any thing they say
I ordered parts and received confirmation email telling me parts would be shipped July 9th 2018. On July 11th I called to find the status of the order and was told that the parts I ordered were out of stock and would ship that day. When I ordered the parts the web site said all the parts were in stock. Today July 13th I called to see the status and was told the parts were still not there and Boats.net are on a National back order. You would think with computers now days they would have know the status of parts and maybe even called or sent me an email to let me know they were not shipped. If you have a job that is needing parts for a customer and you are ordering parts from Boats.Net I would advise you to wait for the parts to arrive in your hand before you give a job completion date because Boats.Net is not going to let you know how long it is going to take to get the order. What they told me was the date of shipment in the order confirmation email is only an estimate and if I would have read the small print I would know that it can change.

Hard Lesson Learned! I wont be ordering through them again unless I have no other choice.

Nothing but ignorance!
Nothing but ignorance! I have ordered parts from this site as oriinal Honda parts. What I have received was far from original. On top of this Boats.net stole my money from a credit card! They have made 2 unautorized charges on top of the correct charge for the order. After many e-mails and chats with the company (and also with Partzilla and Outdoor Network, which are Boats.net´ s associated companies that processed my order), I turned the complaint to BBB and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and they also could not resolve the money refund. We actually had to cancel our bank card! This Place is the Nr. 1 completely the worst U.S. based business I have ever met! Stay away from them...

Poor service
Ordered a Honda remote control because it was a good price. My order # was10-662087, part #24800-ZW9-A02. Since Boats.net guaranteed the fit to my motor, I tried calling them, only to get their voice mail. They would call back, maybe 3 hours later or the next day. But then, no helpful information. So I ordered on line the part number that another supplier said I needed. Went to install the control and I then found out that the wire plugs were wrong. Tried called them again but couldn't get through, so I decided the cut the plugs off and connect them directly. Took 3 hours, but I got everything running., I had 1 brown wire from the motor that I couldn't find a wire to connect to. I called Boats.net. Someone called me back 4 hours later. I asked him (supposidly a tech specialist) about this brown wire. He said he didn't have a clue. I should ask a local marine mechanic. I did call a Honda dealer, but they wanted to sell me a whole new remote.

Waiting game
First off I repair outboards for a living and I buy a lot of parts from boats.net This last time I ordered parts some were not in stock. Boats.net promised to ship out as soon as they can. I always pay for Express shipping. My first part of the shipment arrived by my local post office. I didht pay for USPS I paid for ups.
Then when my second shipment came there was supposed to be 3 parts in the box. What I got was 2 parts and an empty parts bag with the part number on the bag but no part. Needless to say I was pissee. Been waiting 2 weeks and all I got was an empty parts bag. It wouldn't of been so bad if they forgot or whatever but a Human Being had to of physically put an Empty parts bag in the box! What kind of morons do they have putting parts in boxes? I am not a happy camper. Time to find another on line parts place!

Terrible
Terrible. Stay away. As other reviews state this site seems to be mostly a scam. My parts order has been listed as in stock and ready to ship for a week. I have called every day for a week to find out why it hasn't shipped. Every day I am told it will ship that day. On the third day at 8:05 AM I was told the supervisor 'Lloyd' would go into the warehouse, see that it was shipped and then call me. Of course that did not happen. I called back that same evening at 6 PM and was told 'Lloyd' was busy and would call me back. 'Lloyd' seems to work a long day! Of course he never called. Boats.net also told me they were having computer problems. Today I was told it had shipped and was given a Fedex tracking number. Of course that tracking number does not exist - and I have yet to receive an email confirmation that it shipped. I was also told they had received a 'lot of orders' the previous weekend and that was why it took so long to ship. So, every day there is an excuse for why it doesn't ship, and now they are telling me it has shipped but it hasn't. Since this seems like the same experience many, many others have reported I conclude this is boats.net standard operating procedure - to deceive about order status, and to lie when called about it. And the lies are the same ones reported by many, many others - 'part is on its way', 'computer or software problems', 'we had a large order to process', 'I'll personally ship it', etc etc. It's a shameful way to do business, and they are deliberately doing business this way.

Backordered Parts That Were Listed as "In Stock"
I placed an order with Boats.net on April 10,2018. According to their website, everything was in stock. April 11 I get an email stating that one item was on backorder until April 12. I figure OK, no problem with one day. April 19 I get another email stating that part will be on backorder until May 1. I responded to the email requesting that the other items be shipped so that I can get started on those repairs. I got no reply and no parts. Today, May 15 I have not received anything and called and inquired. Still on backorder. When I requested to have my order canceled, then Boats.net want to talk about shipping the other parts. No thanks.
