Brightside is a great service. It is very convenient; you can schedule your appointments online without needing to call or play phone tag with a front office. The schedules online are the therapists/psychiatrist's actual open appointments and they are readily available (you can get same week appointments). They are responsive to online messages you send which is so convenient and nice to have, especially with a psychiatrist and trying out meds or getting in to a bad spot.
I have loved working with both my therapist and doctor. I also love that you are given the chance to give feedback on each regularly and change providers if needed. One of the most helpful aspects is the lessons that you do on your own. They are thoughtfully laid out and packed with so much applicable info and help. The lessons are also a great engagement point with my therapist.
This program has been a complete lifesaver- the simplicity, ease, caring & truly amazing professionals. I would recommend to anyone seeking an avenue to help with any mental health issues. It was extremely helpful how fast I could schedule an appt- I felt very taken care of and supported when I lost needed it.
I’m very grateful for Brightside.
Overall, Brightside is working for me. My symptoms are improving with my new medication, and it is convenient to have sessions at my home, although I have been asked to reschedule appointments a few times over the past couple months. Still, I am able to speak to my therapist on the weekend, which is much better than squeezing it into a work day. My doctor is very knowledgeable and supportive as is my therapist. I’m glad I took the leap!
When I first found bright side I was in crisis and had no insurance. I'd already been going to therapy outside of brightside but was having a really hard time finding a psychiatrist I felt comfortable with and could trust. My experience with my assigned psychiatrist has been kind, effective and straight to the point. I appreciate the time he took during my intake call to listen to me and my concerns about past medications that didn't work for me. I have been trying to handle my mental health without meds for years because of misprescribed meds and misdiagnosis. I've always felt rushed out of offices, never had things explained to me and overall felt dismissed and ultimately never helped. My psychiatrist was understanding and patient with me explaining exactly why and how these meds would be best to work for me. He also understood how important it was I get meds ASAP and took steps to get them to me the next day AND found a goodRX code for me to get a discounted price at pickup from a pharmacy. The check-ins are just the right amount of interaction for me and he always answers any questions I have within the day. Overall Brightside has been amazing for me. My meds are working wonders and I'm so grateful to the psychiatrist they assigned to me.
I am not super satisfied with Brightside. I am happy that I was able to quickly get a provider, however the online site is confusing and hard to navigate. I often have trouble figuring out how to message my provider quickly. The online check-ins are frustrating in that they score you in how you rate on a depression and anxiety scale, which sometimes labels you are "minimally depressed/anxious"- which is not necessarily accurate. Simply because my medication is helping my symptoms does not mean I am "minimally" mentally ill. This rating process comes off as minimizing my experience. Additionally, several times my provider has taken more than 72 hours to respond to me, and I have gone without getting a refill on my prescription, leaving me with withdrawal side effects. For $95 dollars a month, all of these inconveniences are frustrating, especially when there are many sites out there who provide the same type of service as Brightside.
Using Brightside has been so easy & convenient. I feel heard by both providers I work with and seem to have finally found some meds that are helping. I do wish the therapy sessions were closer to an hour like the in-person ones I'm used to. 30 minutes just always seems to go by so fast! I also love the check-in graph where I can see my progress - on days where it feels like I haven't made any it's nice to see a visual representation. Overall I really love Brightside!
Brightside is working well for me. Barbara Shoemaker has prescribed 2 medications to me that seem to be working now. I am feeling better. I don't really feel like the sessions were making any difference, no reflection on Maxine, it just wasn't for me and now that the meds are beginning to work I don't want to continue with the sessions. I speak regularly with Barbara, however.
Brightside has been a Godsend to me for my mental health. Between my severe social anxiety and having a young special needs child at home, it's almost impossible to make, keep, and get to in-office doctor visits.
Brightside communication is simple and fast, and they stay on top of things. I feel like I am finally getting the help I have needed for years.
Brightside has been amazing for me! So thankful for this care provider. Mental health is so important but has always been difficult to quickly be seen by anyone here in the US. It’s usually such a long and daunting process to receive the care you need. I was linked up with a great doctor in less than 24 hours and had prescription medicine called in right away to help me with my needs. I was feeling better and like myself again in record time, complete opposite of all my past experiences at other places. Thank you Brightside for making mental health a priority!
My therapist and prescriber are both incredibly attentive to my needs. They listen to my me, push my to exceed the boundaries I have created for myself, and offer multiple ways of coping and support. I have used another popular online therapy company in the past and didn’t have much success. Brightside was my last hope to find a therapist that I connected with through the convenience of telemedicine. I am incredibly thankful for my team of providers that I was matched with. I have much more work to do but at last feel hopeful that I will finally have the much needed tools to take care of me and my mental health.
Weekly check ins are based on an algorithm, and I don’t think it’s working as it would with an actual person. Doctor took a week to answer an adverse event reporting and didn’t even give an actual answer or recommendation, just that she thought she had answered. Therapist is very sweet but gives generic advice. Feels a lot like a cash machine but nothing serious behind it.
I'm not sure how I would have made it these last few weeks without the help of Brightside. I was so miserable and feeling completely overwhelmed by stress and anxiety. Thankfully now, I'm managing that with medication and therapy. The stress hasn't gone anywhere- but I'm able to function on a daily basis without feeling like I cannot handle the stress.
I’ve only been using Brightside services for a short time but I am feeling better. My provider & therapist are excellent. My only complaint so far is that a 30 min. therapy session goes by very quickly and I wound prefer a 60 min. session. Otherwise, it’s nice to have this support and messaging the provider & therapist is a nice perk and messages are answered quickly.
Brightside has been a turning point for my anxiety and depression. I have been able to not only talk through things but I was given lessons and resources to ensure I continued to work on myself in between sessions. I was able to get on the right medications and feel like and am better equipped to handle everything. I have messaged my therapist in off times and got immediate feedback. My therapist has been influential in my progress and healing. I would be where I am today without Brightside. I have recommended Brightside to friends family and hope they find the same level of care I have.
Really convenient and it’s helped tremendously with my mental health. My therapist is great and so is the NP. They listen to how I’m feeling and my therapist has given me some great ways to cope when I feel overwhelmed. The only suggestion I’d have would be the ability to have longer sessions. Sometimes 30 minutes is fine but there are times when there’s a lot to deal with and it can feel abrupt.
I don’t feel like this is worth the amount of money it costs just to have a prescription written, the provider doesn’t really check in. You just pay 100$ to have a prescription sent to a pharmacy that will charge you 30$ to have it filled it’s all really frustrating and feels like a waste of money. If you’re looking for a way to spend money on something that doesn’t make a huge difference weather you get the script written in your doctors office or not here it is!
Although I have spoken to a representative and they were kind, I still am unable to make appointments with my doctor due to a glitch in the system . It hasn’t been fixed and hasn’t been followed up on. Also I found it extremely difficult to alter an appointment that has been made. The last time I spoke with the therapist I will end up paying over 4 dollars a minute and we discussed the problems with Brightside patient care for 15 minutes. I’m quickly losing hope in this system…and it’s too expensive.
Dr is great and medication is working but support staff and procedures are absolutely the worst ever. You can not get a hold of them by phone at all. So don't even try. When you contact them via email it takes days for a response if u get one at all.. Your also automatically charged every month even if u haven't seen your Dr yet. Brightside would be great if u didn't charge people u til they seen the doctor and fixed your customer care department to have them available by phone or even chat. I have unfortunately canceled my membership due to being billed unknowingly.. hopefully I can come back soon
I have anxiety and anger issues to which don’t seem to be addressed in current therapy and medication. I seem to be a bit too much for your help. Also, you auto charged my account when I didn’t hit the funds and it impacted my family negatively. Survival is key currently, so I’m gonna have to shelve my treatment because one: it’s not comprehensive enough, and two, I can’t afford it if it isn’t addressing all my problems.
