While upgrading my account I felt the addon service...
While upgrading my account I felt the addon service for background checks was confusing and accidentally chose it because it was almost the exact same price as the quarterly billing I had selected previously. I thought that page was just confirming. Afterward, I did not have a chance to undo the background check before finalizing my purchase. Then, in my account settings (which are difficult to find as a new user) I did not see any options for changing my addon features, so I needed to use your "contact" live chat option to change the settings. It would be better if your website laid things out more clearly and gave more options to users to control their account settings.

Border line fraud
I'm not a big fan of trial memberships where Care.com give you an introductory offer and then start sticking it to you every month, but it is even more despicable when trying find a resource to assist with an ageing parent. I'm not saying they should not be compensated for their service, but to continue to bilk people on a monthly basis when their accounts are clearly inactive and not using the service is wrong. Judging from the massive number of 1-star ratings complaining about their shady practices, it looks like we are far from alone with our complaint.

Membershio Scam
Beware of this deceptive and fraudulent company! I signed up for the membership and understood it would only last for 3 months but Care.com kept charing me for over a year ($78 every 3 months) even thought I hadn't used the service or even logged into my profile. When I finally found out I was still being charged and called costumer service they basically told me they could not do anything - no refunds whatsoever - not even for the very last payment that was charged a day before.
Mind you they make it really hard to cancel or downgrade your membership. If this business was respectable they would be transparent and actually try to help the client. All they care about is to make money.

Waste of money
Repeatedly had technical difficulties and ended up having to open a new account. Paid for three months of service but haven't even been able to use the app for half that time. Care.com took down my job posting at some point, not sure why but I didn't even notice until a month later because I never received a notification. I tried to repost the same job, it made me create an entirely new one, then wouldn't let me post it. Kept giving me an error message but I wasn't doing ANY of the things it said to not do. Half the time the site won't even pull up. Attempted for about a week on several devices, my friends even tried for me, but nothing. Eventually it let me at a job but now it won't let me edit it. I received a couple responses to the first ad. Only one really weird applicant this time around. Oh, I also contacted customer support twice and they have yet to respond, and that was weeks ago. This site is a joke. Completely unprofessional and useless.

They took down my job posting after about a month.

Many scams on this site... WARNING!
I was a member on this site. I was only on for 5 weeks and I had more scams than potential clients.! Some people expect you to just come to their house. No way! Public place first! Anyone can create a account and give faulty information. It's so hard to judge scam over the real thing. When you report them Care.com believe the scammer over the Nanny. HORRIBLE customer service! Ask for management and they send you a email instead and close your account down. So much for calling the safety team for help.
BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE stay away!

Kicked off the site for no reason
I started an account recently, went through the process, got verified, applied for jobs, and then all of a sudden a get an email that my account was closed, with no reason given (just a list of possible reasons, none of which apply to me) and no recourse available. After researching on Consumerist.com, I found a lady who was kicked off while interviewing nannies. Apparently ANYONE can file a complaint and Care does not research, Care.com just kick you off. I hadn't even had an interview yet! Really disgusted at this.

Help with grandchildren
I subscribed hoping to find someone to help out with my 2 grandchildren. I have incurred several issues: Frist, is that the persons I contact, for the most part, do not even respond. Just give me the courtesy of a quick response saying that doesn't work for me. I also see that Care.com do not log in for weeks or months at a time... why are you even on this site? Why isn't there some sort of check and balance for those persons not even checking in for weeks or months on end? Then purge those people. In addition, their profiles are not up to date, so i spend my time sending e-mails to several persons that do not have current info. For ex: one lady answered back "I returned to school 2 years ago"... ugh! What a waste of my time. Take yourself off of care.com! For the most part i have found care.com pretty much useless.

I'm an RN and would give "0" stars if I could...
Would give 0 stars if I could. I was a member in early 2010 when it was better, even got one good position. Then signed up as an RN recently during COVID to try to get some part time work, and have had nothing but trouble. You can't look at anything on the website without CONSTANT pop -ups to upgrade. Applied for many jobs without any responses, which I found odd. Care.com kept sending pop-ups which said "upgrade now to appear higher in searches". Today 7/9, they locked me out of my account unless I pay for a "background check"... which I DON'T need, because I have an extensive background check that another reputable company (HireRight) did for me in March. And I can't delete my profile because they locked me out. I am furious with this unscrupulous company, who misrepresents their 'service' and costs!

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE
I have been served like real $#*!. I've been contacting them multiples times to get a refund since I have contacted more than 20 providers and received only 1 answer back 3 week after my post. Care.com make you pay for 3 months + and their providers are either not looking for employment so they don't use their account anymore or they go visit their account once in a while to tell you they already have a job so they are not searching anymore. The answer I got from customer service was that... I received an answer so it doesn't pass on the fact that I was not receiving any response back.

NEVER USE THEM. Instead, use facebook babysitter/nanny groups. You will at least receive decent applicants.

Closed my account and can't get answers
I can't believe all these comments I'm seeing on this website, wishing I would of dig deeper in reviews because I just got scammed by them too, all I did was try and add on Running Errands for jobs, so I guess it needs to go through an approval and Care.com declined it, and whoever that person was who decline my application my account was gone, vanished! And Im already approved for petcare and housekeeping, how could they just delete my whole account? I just had to cancel my card and I had my first job finally this Friday, I can't call customer service, ONLY have BILLING dept for calls just a Heads up! You can only talk to them through chat, this site is truly a scam, they do background checks on us Requires social address how do we know what there really doing with our information? They sent me this message said I'm not active no more and to take care. I think a Lawsuit sounds Pleasant, I will be contacting my lawyer on that site!

So, so bad!
I used the service as a caregiver and had relatively good success. However, I canceled my subscription and eventually got a promotional offer to get 3 months of premium for $10/month.
Care.com charged me for the 3 months in January, then in February proceeded to charge me the full fee for premium. And every month after.
In May I canceled my membership once I realized what was going on and in June they still charged me.
I contacted their "support" which is extremely hard to locate, and they told me they have no record of any transaction for me after November 2020! I'm now in a lengthy dispute, since it's 4/5 days between responses from them.
The site is clunky, difficult to use, and if you're a caregiver its impossible to search for other caregivers like a babysitter for my son.
Stay far far away!

Care.com is a terrible company they are liars and they are thieves
Care.com is a terrible company Care.com are liars and they are thieves. I paid $173 for a membership through iTunes and because I had the same name as my cousin they shut my account down and then refused to refund my money when I ask them to refund my money they said go to iTunes when I went to iTunes iTunes said I had to go to Care.com. They are thieves and I would never ever ever use them. Plus the people on Care.com lie about who they are and Care.com supports them and when you write a review and you tell people about the people on Care.com they shut you down. I'm really serious it sounds like it's a democrat run company

Total Scam
I would give 0 stars if possible.

The vast majority of care providers on this website are under-qualified and not adequately screened. The few that appear to be qualified are already working and unavailable. This website is a total scam so I decided to cancel the overpriced "Premium Membership" which is about $60 per month. Membership is auto charged. When I attempted to cancel the subscription, I was unable to as their website was down. There is no phone number or anyone to call. Care.com charged my card and I was unable to obtain a refund.

Dated and disjointed experience
I wish that the pay scale was more obvious from the start. It is structured like a tease for starting, but to really use the site, you need to pay. Unfortunate.
The site is also due for a major overhaul as general navigation is painful and disjointed. Getting to your account page seems like you're navigating to a totally different site by the UI changes. It's also hard to discern whether your account is basic or premier. Going to to the help site or payment site takes you away from Care with no back navigation.

Shady business practices
This is not a bad company in terms of finding care for my daughter. Finding someone can be difficult not matter what method you use. I have found some great people on here and there have been other times when I wasn't able to find anyone at all. I don't think the site can be faulted for that. What I can fault them for is the shady subscription renewals Care.com have. They don't send out any notification that they are about to renew so you can opt out if you don't need it at the time and they won't refund your money either. I have a full time job, I'm a single mother of 3 girls, one of my daughters is disabled. In other words I don't need another thing on my to-do list to keep track of their subscription and make sure it doesn't renew if I don't currently need it. Reputable companies notify a person before a subscription renews so you can opt out if you don't want or need it. This company does not do that. It's a shady business practice in my opinion.

Monitor your charges from this company!
I have used care.com for almost 10 years off and on. Caregiver quality has been hit-or-miss, to say the least. My biggest problem with them though is the fact that Care.com took $300 of my money, after I canceled an auto-renew subscription which didn't actually cancel due to a blip in their system. I called to tell them I canceled it over 6 months ago and I'm still being charged and they said there is nothing they will do about it. Find caregivers elsewhere if you want to work with a company you can trust.

Scam!
I signed up and got a meager two applications to my ad. I cancelled their service but Care.com kept charging me. When I tried to get into my account they claimed they didn't have my email address anymore - even though they kept sending me their advertising emails to the same address that they claimed they don't have anymore, so it's a very obvious fraud, be careful! I called my bank, they are blocking care.com for further charging my account and they also pay me over $220 (!) back from fraudulent charges by care.com. Avoid! Scam!

They're scamming you for your money
I used care.com services once, two years ago. In order to book a babysitter, it was requested that I sign up for a "Premium" membership. Unbenownst to me, the small type of the premium membership is that, if the client doesn't go and downgrade their membership, Care.com are charged 40$ each month, regardless of whether they use the service or not... on top of that Care.com does not ever send out billing reminders or payment receipts, specifically to try to keep as many "dormant" members on their books...

Scam. Keep your money and info.
First of all there is an offer to try FOR FREE then you cant finish your profile without entering credit card. You don't know if jobs are available in your area until Care.com get your money. Once they get your money. Nothing is available in the area. You cannot reach anyone with this group and their auto generated emails are a joke. I am disputing any charges to my card. Apparently this is a scam b. S. membership which should be advertised as such with ability to delete profile and all credit card information if not satisfied. AVOID CARE because they don't care about anything except getting your money!
UPDATE 7/24/21 Want your profile removed? Update bio header and bio to include your scam experience and how they only use your information to extort money, click update so they can review and approve then wait. You should get an email they removed or cancelled your account. I got my profile deleted and money refunded. Good luck!

No flexibility!
We signed up for membership to find a caregiver for my mother. She fell and had to go to a rehab facility. Care, com refused to "pause" my membership for the 30 days that she is in rehab. We will need to find someone to help after she gets home, but Care, com refuses to freeze my account during her recovery time. It seems strange that a company that deals with elderly cannot plan for unforseen circumstances. I'm not looking for a refund- just help to maximize the time I have to use their service.
Lesson learned: Care.com don't care.
