CouponCabin Rating
Description: CouponCabin (www.couponcabin.com) is the home of more cash back and faster payments. Think of us as your partner in cash back in that we only get paid when you do. Over 99.8% of all orders are seamlessly paid, but if a store doesn’t pay us for an order, for any reason, we will not be able to credit your cash back. CouponCabin doesn’t have many rules, but the rules we do have are in place to ensure our members get the maximum amount of cash back possible. It’s important to note that only one account per computer network or household may claim offers marked for “Members Only” or “New Members Only.” We are very passionate about saving money, and as shareholders, our team of Customer Success managers is always willing to help in every way possible. Please understand that CouponCabin does not tolerate profanity or threats of any kind and will never provide financial compensation in exchange for the removal of reviews.

What sets couponcabin.com apart are two factors.
There are exclusive 'members-only' bonus cash back offers. Now, be aware that you can only choose one 'members-only' offer each month but there are a lot of gems to choose from. They can be as simple as a high-value grocery coupon to getting your order for free! Example: Get $150 cash back at [store website]. Com, when you purchase $150 or more.
As a CouponCabin VIP member, you earn an additional 3% bonus cash back on almost all cash back orders you place. There is no fee to be a VIP.
(I suggest everyone read terms for all details.)
My only wish is that I could take advantage of the offers more often but I'm on a limited budget; which is a HUGE reason why I look for savings & cash back whenever I can; & I do!
Vice President of VIP Member Services, saying that, "you are frustrated with Coupon Cabin and you gave bad review on Coupon Cabin so we are cancelling your Membership and permanently blocking your account" This is how they frustrated with my review. Horrible site! Horrible Customer Care!
Coupon cabin not ready to accept their problems and not ready to receive honest feedback from their member's. When i talked to my friend she told her bad experience with Coupon Cabin. I don't know after this review how they going to Block my Blocked account lol..
If your looking for a promo code you obviously want a discount, and Coupon Cabin, just like any other discount/promo code website (ahem, Retailmenot) has the same promo codes out there BUT, Coupon Cabin has the best by far cash back rewards. The small "change" I mentioned earlier is that I go to Coupon Cabins website first and do a search for the place I want to order from. 9x out of 10, I find the online retailer listed, promo code, and an extra way to earn cash back from them. The only time I didn't find the online retailer was because it was an oddball item sold by a specialty store. If your still skeptical double check when you place an online order, I do sometimes just to make sure there isn't a better deal out there. Hypothetically, if you say I placed 95 online orders through Coupon Cabin since my 12/17 membership, I've earned $95.20 in rewards, which is equivalent to earning $1 per order. Technically, it's $1 per min of my time, since that's really all it takes to type Coupon Cabin and search "promo code for xxxx store." Basically, the time it takes you to read this review. Even better, I didn't place 95 online orders, it was way less and more like 20 using Coupon Cabin. I just used 95 as an example for the hypothetical because really who doesn't want to earn a dollar a minute? Even if your making more than $60 an hour it just proves the point that your time is valuable.
I made ~$200 in purchases in good faith and followed Coupon Cabin guidelines. Now they are keeping my ~$200 plus the money they already received on my behalf from the merchants. While my purchases met the requirements for rebate, coupon cabin closed my account because I questioned them for asking for actual photos of my driver's license (someone recently stole my credit card number through this method). They responded on BBB that they promptly reply to questions and accept 6 other forms of proof of residency, but now they are ignoring my communication. The last communication I received from them said I should write to their company and wait a minimum of 3 weeks for a reply. And now they won't respond to me at all! So it appears that they are replying with false information on various sites to prevent poor ratings. I am simply asking for my nearly $200 that I am entitled to. As it is, they have been paid by merchants and they are also keeping my ~$200. I filed with the attorney general and encourage others who are experiencing this problem to do the same. Coupon Cabin needs to be shut down now to protect consumers. Coupon cabin reps will tell you they accept other forms of ID for verification but when I tried to communicate with them to submit the forms they kept posting their original statement insisting again that they require my drivers license. They're playing cat and mouse games with me - saying one thing online in response to public complaints, but then making completely different demands from me when they communicate with me directly. They continue to demand my drivers license from me when they communicate with me.

Above is previous review but after they paid off all my pending cash back after they officially ban me. I think it's fair to give them a 4 star.
Only thing to be aware is ONLY 1 ACCOUNT FOR ONE HOUSEHOLD OR SAME IP! I don't know if that's my problem why they deactivated my account. I know my SIL have an account but she barely use it anyway I was told anything attached with my name or address will be banned from using their web. So sad wish they make theirs rules clear enough or warn you before they close you.
Another point to emphasize is 'don't limit your expectations on what 'stores' are participating in CC'... I earned quite a bit of cash back by setting up my Xfinity account through CC.
If the deal aspect is not enough, CouponCabin's customer service is amazing--personal, knowledgeable and very prompt. This is a top rate operation and a hidden gem!
I have been telling my adult children about it for several years. One called me that other day to ask if I knew any deals on contact lenses... I convinced him to set up his own CC account. HE DID and ended up getting a good deal on lenses and will earn cash back--a convert!
I tend to be very skeptical but have found satisfaction at every corner from CouponCabin customer service reps. Yes, I have had to wait 30+ days for some money to be posted, but all the while of waiting, customer service emails that CouponCabin are still working on the problem. It is SO reassuring. They make money while WE make money, so it behooves them to be on our side of resolving things.
DEFinitely, download the little button (I don't know the technical term) to make it easier to find the sites that give cashback! That way, instead of going to couponcabin first every time, like I did for months!, a little pop-up window appears when you are on the site itself, making it impossible to miss the opportunity to get your cashback. Just click on it and you're done. PLUS, when you are google searching something, you will easily see which ones give cashback as well.
Really, you can't lose. I've been to a few other site (Ebates, Upromise) and though they are all very similar, I'm really impressed at the sheer amount of options through couponcabin. For instance, you can choose cashback OR just the coupon code, which is how I originally found the site, searching for a promo code. I love that it is MY decision as to which deal I choose to use.
Thank you, couponcabin! I love your site and love your customer service even more.
This is CouponCabin's response to my complaint:
"... we have stated that [my] use of the site and our Cash Back program triggered a number of red flags as sharing characteristics with history user behavior that misused and exploited the program to gain cash back beyond the rules and normal functioning of the program. These security systems have been implemented to protect the Cash Back program from fraudsters and those seeking to game the program and manipulate its normal functioning to accrue undeserved cash back amounts.
In addition to the termination of [my] account due to his abusive and derogatory communications, the legitimacy of the pending cash back in his account was called into question by our security systems. CouponCabin has broad discretion to make
Determinations regarding misuse or exploitation of the Cash Back program... we have wide latitude to protect our business and our Cash Back program against potential misuse and fraudulent activity.
Because [my] account is now terminated as a result of his violations of our Terms and Conditions, and because the pending cash back in his account has been called into question, we are unable to issue... the payment he is demanding."
This statement is in direct contradiction to what CouponCabin's customer service agent said to me prior to, and after, my account was terminated.
First, in regards to my account termination, here is what the customer service agent, said:
"Given your desire to seek legal action, we feel that the best course is to close your account and issue a final payment for the cash back you have pending."
Second, in regards to their concerns about me committing fraud, this is what the CSR had to say when I first contacted customer service:
"Our security system has detected what it deems unnatural activity originating from your account and/or computer network and as a result, your account is eligible for check payments only... and that your account remains in good standing and is open for you to earn cash back as you normally would."
At no point would the CSR elaborate on what this "unnatural activity" was, nor has anyone else. In any case, CouponCabin very clearly did not deem my account to have accrued money by committing fraud, otherwise they would have terminated my account because
Of that and stated that I would not receive my money because of these concerns. However, the CSR plainly stated that my account was in good standing, and that I would receive my money. Therefore, CouponCabin's lawyer very clearly lied to the Attorney General's Office in Indiana just to avoid paying a measly $76.86, which I lawfully earned.
Also, at no point had anyone from CouponCabin told me that they were concerned about fraud. I don't know how much clearer it can be that this company steals money from its members and has not qualms about lying to the authorities, even when there is
Evidence contradicting them.
If you have a legitimate complaint against this company, I urge you to file it, and include documentation, with the AG offices of Indiana and Illinois. I believe that the only way anyone is going to do anything about this company is if enough people file complaints.
Their Terms and Conditions make it basically impossible to sue them in Small Claims Court because the case has to be filed in Lake County, IN, which is an onerous burden. The same is true for arbitration. Unfortunately, our laws have not caught up to the internet age. If you have a problem with a local company, you can sue the local company in your local court. However, with these companies that operate online only, they can write their Terms so that you can only file in one location. Justice is simply impossible. How much money would a company like CouponCabin have to owe someone living in, say, California, to make it worthwhile for the person living in California to fly to Lake County, IN in order to appear in court? It's ridiculous. There is basically no oversight in regards to these companies. They can lie with impunity to government officials even when documentation is sitting right there that clearly contradicts their lies. Maybe there's some mechanism that obligates these companies to at least respond to the AG's office, but the office has no teeth, so all they can do is put the issue into a permanent file. Maybe if enough people file complaints they can do something.
Even if they can't though, filing the complaints is still worthwhile. Why? It forces the lawyer to have to respond to the claims. I suggest that if you do have a complaint, send the formal letter to the lawyer demanding your money, and also file complaints with the BBB and with the AG offices of Indiana and Illinois. You may not get your money back, but at least this company will be spending money paying their lawyer to lie.
Edit: They did follow through and sent me my total balance, which didn't include the $100, but did include cash back for a couple of items I returned and the cash back hadn't dropped off yet, so they do get credit for following through and cashing me out. Feel free to use them for regular percentage based cash back, just avoid their big promos.
Some kind ReviewFeeder user suggested I report couponcabin to the FTC. As couponcabin stated, it is in their terms & conditions to make these demands for your personal data. I don't think the FTC can do anything for me, or for you when you couponcabin keeps your cashback.
I am not going to hand over my personal data to receive my $153 of cashback. It really infuriates me that couponcabin pocketed the commissions from Neiman Marcus, Saks, and others off of my purchases.
I cannot go back in time and undo my decision to give them my business. I can only hope that my experience will prevent you from losing your earned cashback with couponcabin.
Believe CouponCabin at their own words: it is in their Terms & Condition to withhold your cashback, never pay you, unless you hand over your social security number, picture of your drivers license, picture of state issue ID.
I suggest you use rakuten (ebates.com) I have never had any issues with them. I've attached my history of cashback from ebates as proof. Yes, I got snookered by couponcabin's toooooo good to be true deals. I hope this review saves you the aggravation - stay away from couponcabin.

JUST TRY IT. You have nothing to lose because it costs nothing to sign up! Another great feature is als if you don't have a PayPal account they'll send you a check.
Coupon Cabin has the worst customer service on the planet! Stick to the more well-known cash back sites like Ebates or Mr. Rebates that have superior customer service! This company doesn't like to pay-out on cash back you've earned if it's a large amount! Beware of this shady business at all costs. You'll be happier for it!
Edited: I'm left with no choice but to report them to the BBB! They refused to pay me my cash back money! This is how tacky this company is:

The response letter essentially stated that CouponCabin would not communicate with me except through a lawyer and/or through the Small Claims Court and/or binding arbitration processes due to my repeated threats of legal action. Of course, this is a gross mischaracterization of statements made by me regarding legal action. There was, in fact, only a potential threat of legal action in the event that CouponCabin did not pay me the money owed. If they paid that money, I'd have no reason to seek legal action. This letter, and in particular one that * sent to the Illinois Attorney General's office in response to a complaint I made, contained what I will diplomatically refer to as factual errors. In neither case did * make any mention whatsoever of the money owed me or my attempts to collect and seemed to feign ignorance of my objective.
Regardless, I did attempt to reach out to * in order to settle the matter amicably outside of court. He provided an email address to which I could direct communication from my attorney (as though anyone is going to hire an attorney to collect $76.86). I made clear that what I wanted was the money owed to me, at which point I would let the matter rest.
I pointed out to him (again) that CouponCabin informed me on Jan. 15th that I was owed money, and their own customer service representative, *, also informed me that I was owed this money. Further, * also stated that my account was in good standing despite whatever security issue caused my account to no longer be able to be paid out via Paypal. This is particularly important when you examine their Terms and Conditions. Section 3 of the Terms and Conditions, specifically paragraph III, "Termination of Your Membership," states: "If your membership is terminated by CouponCabin, CouponCabin may refuse to pay some or all of the amounts credited to your account if such amounts appear or are suspected (as determined in the sole and exclusive discretion of CouponCabin) to have been earned in violation, or after violation, of these Terms or to have been otherwise unlawfully obtained." Based on *s statement, they did not believe that I had violated their T&C in earning this money. * even informed me that a check would be forthcoming. Therefore, CouponCabin is in violation of their own T&C.
CouponCabin seems to have no problem using their T&C as a weapon against consumers, but when it applies to them, they have little regard for it. It is my opinion that they are betting that most people will not put in the time and effort to go to court or arbitration in order to recoup small sums of money. I wonder how many accounts they've terminated without paying out what those account holders were owed. I would not be surprised to find this to be a significant source of income for them.
So, what options are available now? Clearly they have no interest in acting in good faith. They won't communicate with me, and they've avoided any mention of money as though they were allergic to it. There are two primary courses of action. First, I can sue in Small Claims Court. It would cost about $90 plus some additional expenses related to serving CouponCabin. However, if I were to win, I could recover these expenses from CouponCabin. Other people in my situation may not want to choose Small Claims Court, though, because of location. I think you'd have to either live in Illinois or Indiana or go to one of those states to file.
The other option is arbitration. CouponCabin's T&C make this option seem equally unappealing because they state that you'd have to do this in Lake County, IN. However, JAMS, the arbitration company, specifically states that the consumer must be allowed to take part in choosing the arbiter, and they must also be allowed to have the venue take place in their hometown. So, despite what CouponCabin's T&C state, if you want to file an arbitration claim, it should not matter where you live. The filing fee is $250, however if you win CouponCabin will have to pay it. Additionally, CouponCabin has to pay several thousand dollars in fees to the arbitration company to have JAMS process the claim and arbitrate it. I don't know CouponCabin's record when it comes to these sorts of cases, but it is entirely possible that if you were to file and arbitration claim, CouponCabin may opt to settle with you rather than pay all of these fees to JAMS. So, if you've got a good case, you may wish to go this route. Perhaps if enough people did, CouponCabin might choose to change their practices.
Additionally, I highly recommend you file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office in Illinois. They will probably tell you that they aren't going to do anything, but perhaps if enough people complain, they will have no choice but to take the issue seriously and investigate this company.

1) Couponcabin has a rule about not allowing members of a household to avail of the "members only" offers. Which is a confusing rule to begin with because it's not like members of a household would confer with each other every time they are making a purchase. Especially once you install the couponcabin sidekick app which reminds you to check their offerings before you shop.
2) Their system of identifying so-called violators of their terms is by using IP addresses. This is EXTREMELY problematic given how many people might be using the website at coffeeshops or other public places. Or, in my case, using a building wifi. How IP can be a reliable way of determining household is beyond me.
3) I was recently blocked from Couponcabin and had my account permanently closed. Their reason was that multiple members of the same household availed of their special offers. At the same time that my account was shut, they also shut the account of a friend in my building. As I explained to Couponcabin, us using the same wifi is not the same as us living in the same household. That is an absurd claim. They then emailed both of us saying that we had opened multiple other accounts using the same IP address. Which, of course, we hadn't. Shouldn't the existence of a number of accounts at the same IP suggest that many people are in fact using it and therefore it is probably a public wifi?
4) While couponcabin paid me most of my pending balance, they refused to extend the same courtesy to my friend from the building. So the friend whom I referred to Couponcabin is now out a bunch of money that he spent upon my referral. This is grossly unfair to both him and me. I do not understand why they would apply the rules differentially like this.
We have exchanged many back and forths with the Couponcabin customer service team, and frankly, they only reply with rather curt and rude scripted emails. They do not respond to specific questions and explanations.
I would not say that you shouldn't use Couponcabin, but if you do, be extremely careful. Otherwise you might end up spending a lot of money thinking you are getting a good deal and end up having spent more than you might have otherwise. Simply because Couponcabin decides to rescind its coupon to you.
I also expect that if at all they reply to this complaint, it will be in the standard "we have very few rules" script that they have already used in response to other similar reviews on ReviewFeeder. I find this kind of customer service, without regard to longterm users, to be rather shocking in today's day and age of excellent customer service.
I'd also like to add, as a final point, that it is rather insulting on the part of Couponcabin to assume that some people might have the time and energy in their lives to set up endless Couponcabin accounts just to "violate their terms and condition". The simpler answer must be that their identification system is so patently faulty.
