Course Hero

Pay $40 for a certain amount of unlocks and questions that can be asked. However, there is a time limit for when you can use these unlocks and questions. Makes absolutely no sense since I am the one paying for this service. How can you put a time limit on something I paid for? So, if you don't find a way to use every unlock and question on time, Course Hero just steal your money. Also, they will make pages look deceitful, as if the question you are looking for is on it. Then you waste an unlock just to see nothing. Don't recommend.

This web site is useless. The free option doesn't really give you anything. You will have to upload documents to see answers or information. Then you will end up paying, which won't change much. The web site is confused and at some point you will find the same answer on each question.
It says students post information and answers but it is just useless information you can get in any of the drunk college parties. This web site is a scam, don't pay anything you will be disappointed.

Blocked my tutor account for no reason at all. I have 400 dollars worth of pay on that account and Course Hero are not letting me withdraw it even though they have no right to prevent me from getting my pay. Their policies state that tutors are clearly independent freelancers so the pay is decided between the student and the tutor. Once the student accepts the answer, the tutor has 100% rights to the money! They will steal your hard earned money as a tutor and they are also ripping off student. I hope this company burns to the ground.

I used that service for 3 months. I had purchased the 3 months subscription and later on when I wanted to download a document, it asked me for another $30 payment! I paid but was wondering why do I need to pay again?! Then I receive a notification that Course Hero charged me without notifying me for another 3 months! I tried to dispute the charge but they didn't budge! Instead they made me email them ENDLESS times my dispute case (pretending they hadn't received my previous email) and the end result was that a person with a very similar name to the person I was talking before pretty much said in her email: "I wanted to give you some background information as to what happens when a dispute is filed. When a dispute is filed, there is a resolution process that occurs between us and PayPal. During that process, we provide PayPal with a copy of our Terms of use and account usage logs. PayPal then takes both the information you provided when filing the dispute and the information Course Hero provided and decides the outcome of the dispute. The decision made by PayPal is final and we are not able to counteract their decision. "
The files they have in their system are TOTAL garbage! They weren't helpful and its just some random files like written by a 4-year-old. Lack of file organization! 90% of the time could not even find what I was looking for! It kept showing to me first file I downloaded. Their search on website is non existent! Lack of good, well written reports. Just some garbage from some random students and half finished documents that end abruptly! In other words, GARBAGE "service". Do NOT spend your money!

Course Hero SCAM tutors!
I received a violation earlier this week for posting an unnecessary comment. Upon checking the violation, I just asked the student in the comment section about the writing style required. I reported this but according to their customer support, the tagged issue is correct. That doesn't make sense!
And now, my account is removed. They said I have a violation. I didn't even do anything wrong. They didn't tell me what's the violation. In addition, I haven't cash out any of my earnings since I need to wait for 2 weeks before I can cash out.
WORST TUTOR SITE EVER!

I subscribed for a year in 2018 to help with class work. I canceled in December 2019 with the standard email that Course Hero would refund my $119.40. They only refunded 59.85 which was not a part of the full refund stated in the email. I somehow forgot about that until they tried to charge me again this year. I looked back and saw they never refunded the full 2019 charge. I just got an email today saying they will refund the current charge but I'm not holding out hope. I'm probably going to have to refute it with my bank. Might even have to get a new debit card to ensure they don't try to charge me next year. Lesson learned to not trust this site.

My personal essay was stolen by a service tutor that I don't know of here. The tutor account is herbertwalindi10. My entire essay content was copied and claimed his/hers false-fully. The tutor is dishonest here and claimed my personal work as his/hers and shared and sell my essay for money.

Do not trust the work here as it's plagiarized! There is very lack of background check on the tutors and the quality of the tutors are skeptical. Already submitted an investigation case; but no phone contact to the compliance team; long investigation time and response time.

Misleading service. When you become a Premium Member you have a certain Number of Unlocks, which allow you to unlock Answered Questions for Tests. When these are used up you are given the Option to buy additional Unlocks.it has been almost 2 weeks and I am not able to buy additional unlocks. Customer service as well as the so called Tech Support are incompetent, imply the problem is caused by the Bank... all Course Hero want is your Membership Payment... A Report with uthorities has been filed on there behalf.

Even if your ratings are above 85% and you have not violated any of the rules, Course Hero will simply block your account saying that 'you are providing direct answer without explanation'.
Why don't you miserable people let students decide what answer they like or not?
The way you treat your tutors is pathetic. You don't think twice before removing a tutor who is consistently answering 20-30 questions a day with 85% + positive ratings.
That is why top tutors from Chegg don't prefer your platform and because of this students are not getting proper answers in course hero due to your stupid and nonsense policies.

After few weeks of being a tutor in the platform, Course Hero alleged me of committing a "violation" without even explaining the violation committed. Discussions with the support team does not go to any results. A 30day appeal period is provided but they already permanently banned the account. Therefore its useless to complain. No due process beforehand. They are scam and all they do not treat "experts" right.

I didn't receive payout of around $100. Being a course hero tutor is a waste of time and effort.

Been a tutor for almost 2 years.
I have had the best ratings of above 70%.
Yesterday I got an email that I can't answer questions anymore because of unhelpful ratings. The number of complains regarding this have been sooooo many its even weird why Course Hero don't look in to this.
They remove tutors whenever they feel like doing it.

They also take advantage of tutors answers as the answers remain in the site even after eliminating a tutor.
Really disappointed.

Lodged an inquiry as a tutor about an unhelpful rating and specifically pointed out that the question is from a live School/University exam and that the student is cheating and that this in violation of Course Hero's honour code. I did this twice and each time I received the generic response "We encourage you to wait until the question has closed before asking for a review of the question to ensure all details are accurate on the question thread". Course Hero are deliberately ignoring violations of their honour code by students to avoid losing out on money. Why they have an honour code is beyond me if they themselves are dishonest and conveniently look the other way when students violate the code.

Once you join for the low price... what Course Hero don't tell you is that price was JUST THE MEMBERSHIP FEE! AND YOU MUST THEN UPGRADE EVEN MORE. This is the email they sent me AFTER I joined for 14.95/month... 1. Should you decide to upgrade to a monthly subscription that costs $39.95 USD, you will have 30 unlocks and 10 tutor credits that are good for 1 month.
2. Should you decide to upgrade to quarterly subscription costs $59.85 USD, you will have 30 unlocks per month and 20 tutor credits that are good for 3 months.
3. Should you decide to upgrade to annual subscription costs of $119.40 USD, you will have 30 unlocks per month and 40 tutor credits that are good for 1 year

The website was good 3 years back. Now that I resumed my studies, I can see the drastic change in the quality of tutors. Course Hero aren't helpful anymore. Even customer care isn't as friendly as before. They refused to refund my fee even though I didn't get any help for all my questions. Complete Scam I must say.
Just to help other students out there getting scammed, I would suggest going for EduYoda.com. It's similar to coursehero, but with better response and tutor quality. Just had 2 projects done by them and they were amazing.

It's been only 4 months since I've worked at course hero. My ratings are high (never went down below 92%) and most students would find my answers very helpful. Just today, I received an email stating that my account is terminated because I "violated" their terms and condition regarding fraudulent activity. I have never used any account apart from my own account. Once you have your account, your profile will be automatically registered in their system, so there is no other way you can make another one. PLEASE, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLATFORM. Course Hero will steal your money, time, effort, and answers.

Course Hero allowed you to see the one or 2 questions they did have the answers for... the rest of it is the textbook reuploaded over and over. So I spent 170 dollars on this, cannot get an answer regarding refunds, although they make it on their site that you can get a refund. Below is the only contact they have ever had with me.

IT IS A TOTAL SCAM!
Course Hero has blocked my tutor account with silly excuses and now blocked my hard earned money amounting $700 again with some silly excuses. Course Hero have done this with all the tutors I referred too. I have personally come to know about more 7 tutors to face this scam. They simply get the questions answered by tutors and don't block them within a month or two, by the period some more tutors join the loop and people continue to be cheated. This chain must be broken or they will keep making money with this scam, cheating the tutors.

I decided to sign up since every question from my homework appeared to be on the site but it was a mistake. I signed up for the cheapest option because I am on a tight budget. I used the sight for maybe 30min and decided it didn't help me at all, it gave you the same versions as if you didn't sign up and I had to unlock everything and most of the time I couldn't find what I was looking for. So I went to unsubscribe thinking that it would only charge me $10 for what I used, but it charged me the full $119 so now I'm negative in my bank account and with no help on my homework. Long story short, don't sign up unless you're in desperate DESPERATE need of help and if you don't have the money in full at the start.

EDIT: After sending 4 emails complaining and explaining my situation Course Hero gave me a full refund the next day, but they said the only reason was that I didn't use it and I signed up and unsubscribed in one day, less than an hour. So if I waited more to write to them or waited longer to unsubscribe I probably wouldn't get the refund.

I am very pleased with CourseHero's services and customer support team. I pre-emptively signed up for course hero and although will be using it in the future was concerned about having purchased my subscription too early. I called and spoke to someone live with no wait time, and was given a full refund despite it being my mistake. Also having had a sneak peak inside of what I will be using down the line, I am pleased with the information Course Hero offer that pertains to the classes I am enrolled in. This kindness will not be forgotten!

The Document I was looking to unlock was already for free on a government website, Course Hero said they would only charge $9.95 per month, no where they did they state that it would be in USD only, and they charged for a year upfront, no where did they at all state that this would be the case. I ended up being charged $173.51 AUD and not recieveing anything useful. I kept asking tutors for advice on simple questions, but got no help from them. They have also refused to give a refund.
