A new awakening
I'm a long time licensed driver, with a pretty good driving record, but I was very glad to have taken this course as it made me think about things that I had not thought about for quite a while. I particularly was glad to get a review of changing a tire and jumping a battery, as those are things I haven't had to do for a long time. The people who shared the stories of their family member's horrific accidents brought on by someone driving under the influence of alcohol were very interesting and touching. The whole course was paced just right, enough time to absorb everything but not so slow that it was boring. Far from it! Very helpful to me. Glad I took the course.

Dated, misleading, but also works
Site advertised electronic download of certificate, but neglected mention anywhere of the $25 charge. So, unless you want to wait 7-10 days on snail mail, the course total cost was $60.
Several of the videos depict drivers in left hand lane (passing lane) with no traffic around, and no mention that this is wrong.
Material is dated, early 2000s
However, on the good side, site worked flawlessly and video production was done well. Also really liked instruction on how to respond and behave during routine traffic stops.

Instant Download Not Included in Your Cost for the Course
The course itself is pretty easy and convenient but it was misleading because Defensive Driving advertise optional instant download but they don't tell you the option is going to cost you $25 until after you are done with the course. The course was $35 and the certificate download is an additional $25 for a total of $55. If I would have known that to download a certificate and print it would have cost me $25, I would have gone to a class where it only costs $25 and you get your certificate right there and then at no additional cost. I don't recommend this course, save $35 (course was $10 more than going to an actual class plus the $25 for the certificate download) and go to a class instead.

Easy as can be
Guess I am the first to have a good experience with this company. Guess I'm also the only one who reads the site and follows instructions. Yes you have to answer personal questions to prove your identity. Questions that you and only you would know. It's inconvenient and annoying but I had no problems. The final exam was easy. 20 questions and I received a 90%. I've read a lot of comments where people just can't follow instructions or thoroughly read what is presented. I don't think you will find an 'easy' course.

The only thing I would complain about is the length. It's not exactly 6 hours it's more. However, a lot of that was me doing it at my own pace while at work and home. Other than that I completed the course yesterday with no error or issue. Paid extra to receive it next day and Defensive Driving also offer a tracking number via email. Certificate was waiting on my porch when I got home today. A copy for court and a copy for insurance. Another plus is that they accept gift cards. The other company does not yet deducts the money anyway and then gives you an error of insufficient funds.

Just follow the instructions folks and you will have no issue. Oh and stop speeding. Lol Plain and simple.

Online Defensive Driving Safety Course
The videos taught me alot of things I didn't know. It was a quick and easy 6 hours process. Make sure you stay focus and be in a quiet room, the answers are in the video, you cannot cheat using another device because you only have 60 secs to answer I passed the final exam with a score of 90, I missed 2 questions out of 20. This is a legit website for $35.00 you can't beat that anywhere else if you want to get your tickets dismissed, you need to react now!

It was informational and knowledgeable!
The 6 sessions were very informative and humerous. But at the same it was very direct and concerning with important notice. During the videos and exams made me understand that driving was a big deal. Although their was personal stories, it involved many precautions and review upon what to do and what not to do. Over all, it gave hands on procedures of real life events and tips during an emergency.

Super out dated, poorly maintained, incorrect information.
This site is barely maintained. All the videos are SD format from the early to mid 90s. The most recent statistics appear to be from 2016. I found incorrect information in the questions. I found questions that were asked before the page telling you that information came up. I found questions where the answers for the statistics did not match the information Defensive Driving just gave. If you go to point out any of these errors to them their form asks you questions like what kind of computer are you using? A Power Mac? Windows 95? Are you using the Netscape browser?
Most of the information felt like a mish mash of stuff where sections had redundant information. It's not that hard to pass but maaaaaan they do not respect your time and it feels fairly padded out.

Defensive Driving
Beautiful presentation of the website. The color scheme of the site is very appropriate for the subject matter. Videos were clear and concise and properly aimed at the target audience. I feel that if you are in information technology this is the best defensive driving site to use. Videos loaded very clearly using streaming technology which must indicate perhaps powerful cloud services or a very powerful in-house server. The only thing I feel should maybe be changed in the video classroom is the jump to 4k quality for video and perhaps a server upgrade to handle the data increase load for maximum data throughput regardless of the end-users bandwidth. Quizzes and tests were appropriate and easy to understand. Great work guys.

Good format, to the point.
The course was organized in an easy to learn format and I was able to successfully complete. The three stars is for the multitude of upcharges that are put in front of you at the beginning, throughout, and even after the course was completed. While these charges are optional, Defensive Driving would add up to much more than the class itself and they are portrayed as "must haves". I find the extent of the upcharges to be borderline predatory on folks who might not be aware they don't need instant downloads, driving records, etc. The course and material are good and I'd use the class again, but be prepared to be asked dozens of times to approve additional charges for items/services you don't need.

GOOD
It was an awesome experience. I have learned a lot and have clarified a few questions on some rules. However, I thought it was only 25 at first since this is the one recommended by the court and of that price but the price was 35. Further, when I was about to print the certificate, I have to pay an additional 25 since I want to have a soft copy of the certificate. In some sites not defensive driving though, the downloading/printing of the certificate is included in the price. Defensive Driving have free print out of the certificate but they will send it to you by mail in 7-10 business days. Then if you are not careful, it will make you add the driving record for another amount. I opt out of the driving record however, I have to pay almost the same price in another link recommended by the court. I thought I will be paying only 37USD based from the recommendations of the court but then it turned out I paid 95USD. More than twice the price. Isn't it? But still appreciative of the service despite the price.

Please Avoid, Hidden Fees
This company falsely advertises a $25 dollar course but in reality Defensive Driving try to swindle you out of more. To get your certificate they present two main checkout options which are both an extra $25. Oh but the tiny hidden check box underneath those two options is actually free. Then once you realize you've been swindled and you go to customer service after checking every part of the website to find details about hidden fees only for them to be disrespectful and keep going with scummy ways and say that everything is provided on the website when it's CLEARLY NOT! If I could I'd reverse the charges, null the certificate and take the 6 hour course on another website to avoid giving this company my money.

They will milk you more money AFTER YOU PASS THE TEST!
After doing the boring 6 hours outdated course (well there is so much fun you can add to a defensive driving course), you will do your tests and after you pass guess what? YOU HAVE TO PAY AN EXTRA $25 TO DOWNLOAD OR PRINT YOUR CERTIFICATION! No kidding, and Defensive Driving wont even mention that until you are done with the course meaning you will have to commit yes or yes because you don't want your 6 hours to be wasted. This is intentional dishonest behavior that should be called as it is, a SCAM! I can't believe so many people rate this good knowing this, meaning most of the reviews are a scam. God I hate dishonest practices like this one!

Your on line site is impossible.
I took the first 3 lessons and then I had to log off for several hours. When I came back to resume on lesson #4 your on line system did not allow me to log in no matter what password or user's name I used (several). I have not been able to complete the course.
When I called for help your employee (obviously bored) referred to a telephone number. I called that number and Defensive Driving said they never heard of me. I intend to cancel my registration and go somewhere edlse.

Good information
I really enjoyed learning about new things I got a stop sign ticket but instead I learned a lot more things even about baby cars are I really think that this was a good video and good information I almost wish that it was updated though because it was very very nice and all and it's 2020 so maybe we should update it but it was a very good horse and I loved loved every little moment OK thank you

Hokey videos, lack of good information and bait & switch to get an instant certificate
Their marketing made it look very attractive. Interesting videos to watch, and I can download my certificate right away. I sat through the entire program this weekend, and it was horrible. Texas requires a minimum of six hours for the class, but you could boil down their information into an hour. It was long, hokey and boring And it looks about 20 years old. Then at the end, I was excited to download my certificate and be done with this horrible class. After all, Defensive Driving advertise that I can get an instant download! Oh... if you pay them an extra $25! What? Yes, another $25 for a PDF file that they're going to print and mail to you. I declined, because they implied that I would get an instant download with the course. TOTALLY DECEPTIVE! Then they said, "Oh wait, we'll let you download it for $9.99." What? So you were willing to take my $25 and not say a word, but then knock the price down by $15? That's just ridiculous. No thanks. I'll wait. The only positive is that I got through the course to satisfy having a ticket removed from my record. I DO NOT recommend this corny, outdated and boring class for anyone. Well, maybe for the people I don't like. This would be good for them.

It was a good review.
Its was really long and straining on the eyes but gave me a refreshment on the rules. The review of the defensive driving consisted of personal questions to make sure your still paying attention to the test. I had to make sure to pay attention to the videos to undersand the sections of the course. I would say its a good source of leaning the rules and a way to teach new drivers.

Cheating on Billing
I ordered Type 3A driver record as it as said $7.95. However Defensive Driving cheated and billed me for $35.45. When I called them to cancel the order, I told them what they were doing was fraudulently overcharging customers and this was nothing but cheating customers. The customer service lady hung up on me without trying to resolve. I will never recommend such unethical practices. Shame on you folks. Wish I could give zero star rating for such cheating practices

It's a little soon to ask for a review
Don't ya think! And now you're requiring a minimum of 100 characters. Seriously a bit needy. I'm still not at 100 characters so I will type until 100 or more have been reached. *******111*******111*******111*******111*******111*******111*******111*******111...

They charge you twice.
I paid the first fee to do the program, under the impression that was the only fee I was going to have to pay, and be able to download the certificate of completion after finishing it. Well I finished it and was then presented with the option of paying 25 more dollars to download it now or get it for free in the mail. Defensive Driving double charge you and then dont tell you you cant just do the program for insurance purposes. You have to have a court citation to enter at the end or you cant even get the certificate. Also if you accidentally mess up and dont enter your license plate number on one page you cant go back to enter it and you end up having to get a form notarized and signed with a copy of your I'd on it and turned it to be able to get your certificate. I do not recommend this program at all. Its trash and the customer service is just as bad.

Easy to follow defensive driving course
The course is easy to follow. Make sure you are ready to answer each question when you start the QUIZ... you only have 60 seconds to respond and if your are timed out, that will be considered an incorrect answer to the question. It is a long six hours but beneficial information. The course covers driving issues that may possibly come up that are not daily occurrences so you receive some good reminders on "what if" and the importance of good driving habits.
