In conclusion, Fabletics may has a few cute designs but some of them are not supportive enough, prices are not cheap, and horrible unhelpful customer service. Would not recommend for anybody!
As a first-time buyer, I followed the sizing guide and paid only $24 plus taxes and S&H for both pairs. My order came within a couple of weeks.
When I took them out of the packaging, the leggings seemed very small and difficult to try on but Fabletics were described as compression leggings so I figured they would provide firm support but ultimately conform to my shape. They never did. The were tight and restrictive and had very little give. They were described as being high-waisted and were to a degree but the waists didn't have any drawstring or toggle or anything to adjust it so my waistband kept rolling down during my moderate elliptical workout. I had to stop every few minutes to hike them up to my bra line just for them to gradually roll down past my hips. If I got distracted and didn't catch them in time, they'd sag in the crotch and roll low enough to expose the top of my underwear. It was so embarrassing. I tried to do a home walk-in-place video wearing the other pair and experienced the same thing.
The seams on the ankles of both pairs are also very tight and left hideous indentations on my legs. I tugged at them until I heard ripping just to make them bearable to wear.
I no longer attempt to wear them in public anymore and will only wear them around my house when it's laundry day, I have nothing else to wear and I‘lol only be sitting on the couch.
The website should also do a better job describing the lengths. The powersculpt pair I bought was 7/8 length and fits like capris.
Canceling my membership was easy as I just called the hotline a few business days prior to billing. I never received another charge.
I will never order from Fabletics again since I've gotten better quality leggings from Walmart and Family Dollar for a similar price ($12 or less) and didn't have to wait for them to be delivered or bother with canceling my membership.
A few things Fabletics needs to improve: please, please, please, do NOT show "New VIP prices" to existing members. It feels like a scam when an outfit you have your heart set on is $70.00, but you can visibly see it is being offered to new VIPs for $25.00. It's disheartening and feels punitive of your preexisting, loyal customers. And there have been other instances when a item is listed as on "sale" for one price but then when you head to checkout it's listed at full price. At a brick and mortar retailer you would be fined for that practice, but instead consumers are just left annoyed and distrustful of what's essentially a lie. Please fix that. Fabletics can also stand to improve its website to withstand high volume user days, such as first of the month and Black Friday season. Lastly, I wish it was possible to update previously posted product reviews. I had an experience where I left a glowing review of a shoe only to discover a week later that the sole tore off. I still like the shoes, but notifying the company that Fabletics need to use stronger glue lest the soles tear off would have been helpful for consumer and company alike. So please consider allowing members to update product reviews after they've formally posted.
The main reason I came to write this review, though, is because I couldn't stand the negative feedback I was seeing all over the web with the same complaint. Fabletics isn't a "scam" nor is what they do "fraud." It should be common sense that you NEVER give your CC info to a company - especially a website - without reading the fine print. What is especially frustrating in this instance is that with Fabletics, it isn't even fine print! The conditions are blatantly stated when you sign up, and if you bother reading any of the emails you get (to the email address you typed in yourself and gave to them!) you receive constant reminders of what you signed up for! They even send you a reminder to skip each month! If you skip, you aren't charged for that month. Simple. The other beyond aggravating complaint I keep seeing is "they charged me $49.99 every month and I never got anything from it!" Once again, you're just not doing the reading if you think this is what is happening. Yes, if you don't buy something and you forget to skip, you will get charged for the month. But you aren't being charged just for being a member. It turns into a credit on your account immediately. You then can spend that money on their site whenever you choose. If you still think that is "fraud" I really don't know what else to tell you. So many websites operate this way now. You give permission for them to charge you every month (and you may skip or cancel at anytime) and in exchange you get a discount. Simple. There is nothing shady or deceptive about that.
What it boils down to is NEVER, EVER GIVE YOUR CC TO A COMPANY WITHOUT READING THE DETAILS FIRST.
If the details are available and you don't read them, you truly have no one to blame but yourself.
Then when I called back I spoke with a supervisor, Arnulfo, whom simply just wanted to state there is nothing that Fabletics can do as if an order is cancelled then there is a chance that not all items may be in stock. I was also advised to take something that was a quantity of 1 out of my cart. I repeatedly had to ask him why I was not told this prior to canceling my order and he kept repeating the above. He was not answering any question that I hand asked unless I asked it three times and finally said "I do not care about... Please just answer... as I have already asked 3 times." There customer service team needs to be re-trained from the top down (or at least their team in the Philippines) as THEY were the ones that screwed up. I told Arnulfo that I wanted to submit a formal complaint that their corporate office would see and he stated that I would receive an email once the call ended to review the call that would go to corporate; however, once the call ended no email ever came. I am sure that it was no coincidence.
If they had admitted that a customer service rep made a mistake right off the bat, been empathetic, and then offered multiple alternatives I probably would have replaced my order and even ordered more as a bit of retail therapy. Worse customer service ever. Now I understand why you guys are so cheap because you skimp in other departments.
The Good:
- You can "skip" any (or every) month if you want and your card won't be charged (just have to set a reminder and do it by the 4th).
- If you forget to skip the month, you don't lose the money... You just have $49.95 (credit) to spend on clothes.
- The tights/capris are very decent quality for the price while other items are okay.
- The reviews are pretty detailed and include what size each reviewer ordered.
- You earn points to spend on little items.
- Free shipping as long as you spend a certain amount.
The Bad:
- Shipping is slow (especially when you've been spoiled by Amazon)
- Stock seems to run low a lot
- Almost every item I've purchased says to hand wash... YEAH RIGHT! Lol (but everything has come out of the wash just fine).
- Apparently customer service isn't the best (I personally don't have any experience with them).
The Ugly:
- Misleading marketing - My first outfit was not $25 and you only get free shipping when you spend a certain amount.
- When you forget to skip a month and have $49.95 credit to spend, you're not allowed to combine that credit with any promotions (such as $30 off when you spend $100) even though that $49.95 "credit" is money you spent.
- You can't apply your $49.95 credit toward a shopping bag containing less than $49.95... So basically you have to either spend 50 bucks or nothing at all.
Bottom Line:
It's cute clothes with pretty good quality... If you're a savvy shopper who knows what you're signing up for, never returns anything or calls customer service (like me), and doesn't believe anything you see on TV then it's a good way to always look cute while working out or lounging around without breaking the bank. Overall I'm satisfied with Fabletics.
Here is few thing that I WILL WRITE CLEARLY And you MUST KNOW ABOUT THEM first!
Subscription like we used to another similar policies- NO ITS not, I got LOTS of subscriptions and never got problems.
My subscription started much sooner then monthly ones like APP store, lookfantastic, prime and others (i have been charged after few days Of purchase extra 49£, and I didn't even receive my first order Yet, so, I don't know anything about quality and size but Fabletics already pushed me to subscription, you won't be able to have your money back)
Free delivery- no it's not, free delivery applies only when you reach 49£ after first purchase
FLEXIBLE VIP- don't believe to Full flexibility, you couldn't apply any offers with your credit (even a birthday one which I missed to get my credit used out and get rid of that nasty company.
I would understand that if they would add some bonus to that credit. Like pay 49£ now and get 55£ for credit. But no, they think that its ok to take from you 49£ and state that's it's already an offer.
Delivery- the most longest delivery ever. I believe thats also on purpose, my friends also waited delivery for a week
YUMMY PRICES- 2 pairs for 24£ is true BUT ONLY once, after pair of leggings will cost you 45£/50£/60£ even with the VIP
Also all prices are made very funny, you couldn't get exactly 49£ it can be less and you paying delivery fee anyway or it will be a bit more, so you got slow free delivery and paying extra (49£ credit+ extra few pounds) i paid 53£ to skip delivery fee (4£ extra)
SALE - not like any other SALE, as if you adding something from sale items you WONT BE ABLE to use your credit (you will pay full price for that item). As 49£ credit applies only to full price items, and I already said that prices are funny, so you will pay extra to use your credit
Once again- credit applies only to full price items
HUGE STOCK- as soon as I bought my first 2 for 24£ And become a VIP, stock despaired, not much to choose from to be honest.
Quality- i will be honest, it's good, but unfortunately only till first wash, now they doesn't look really good, thank you Fabletics, i will got leggings for my garden work
Customer service- yuck! As you can understand English is not my first language but 4th! And they still use the most hardest words in conversations to confuse you. I do understand everyone in my UNI but not an adviser from Fabletics.
My advice- don't support company who make everything to scum you, even in legal way
I was a paying member of Fabletics for about 6 months and decided to cancel my membership as my collection of athletic wear was getting out of control. I loved the outfits a bought had no issues with shipping and was happy with the cost, but - and that's a big *BUT* - here I am about 5 months later and two pairs of these leggings (lisette high waist) are unraveling at the seams and have holes. I'm pretty gentle with my clothing (gentle cycle, cold water, laundry bag) and never put anything in the dryer, so it is beyond me as to why this is happening - I've only worn maybe a handful of times. I'm so very disappointed as I absolutely loved these leggings... and now that brings me to my second issue...
I decided to call customer support to locate a site, email address, or anything at all to give some feedback on clothing quality and stitching issues to the company rather than writing a bad review on their website or coming here to report. The rep I spoke with was the least helpful, rude, and borderline insulting customer service representative I've spoken with. When I explained the situation and requested contact info for someone I could write an email to, the representative insisted that any issues I was having with quality had to do with care/handling on my end and that she would not provide me with a contact or resource to give feedback to. After I *politely* tried to re-explain the situation she interrupted me and reiterated that there was no one I could contact. I would have left it there and given up, but she then said that I could go to a website where I could reach someone. She quickly rattled off this website laughing under her breath, which I then asked her if she could repeat as I was having trouble understanding her. Her tone grew more and more annoyed and she started raising her voice - at this point, I had had enough and hung up.
I deal with customer service representatives on a daily basis in my job and try to be as understanding and polite as possible - the response I received from this particular rep was uncalled for and extremely reflective of the quality of customer support Fabletics is providing.
Before this happened I was about to restart my VIP membership, but due to my customer service experience, I'm running the opposite direction.
I get it, every now and again something happens and quality might slip up on a particular product... that's not why I'm wiring this. I simply wanted to bring the issue to the attention of the company for feedback, and then had the misfortune of speaking with some of the worst customer support I've ever dealt with. *sigh*
Computer: How may I help you?
Me: I would like a refund and I would like to cancel my membership.
Computer: Why?
Me: You took money out of my account when I didn't want you to.
This immediately took me to a real life representative, I explained to her very nicely and calmly what happened. I could tell she didn't really know how to respond and was reading from a script. I ensured to remain very sweet but also stern and she seemed to want to help me (yelling and screaming at representatives will not get you anywhere). She offered to talk to a manager for me and put me on hold for about 2 minutes. When she came back she agreed to give me a refund, and gave me a little speech about still keeping my membership now that I know how it all works. I politely declined, and she agreed to cancel it for me. I should be receiving an email soon regarding my refund and I will update this review once I have further details.
I read a lot of reviews that were quite harsh, but my experience was not a horrible one. Just average. The entire phone conversation was 9 minutes. That is not a bad experience considering I didn't have to wait on the phone for an hour on hold, or argue over and over again with a representative. But of course, I still don't appreciate having funds taken from my account when I never explicitly authorized it.
**UPDATE** - within two days they have refunded me $66.80 CAD which is about $5 short of what they took from my account, but I don't really care. I got the majority of the money back with little to no hassle.
