Great Ride! Have had no problems with it so far
Hello, I have had my G1 Trail for about one year now. It arrived in perfect condition in early November last year. My husband helped me assemble it in about 30 minutes. All parts were present, and it assembled easily, just as the video instructed. While charging the battery, I walked the bike up to our local bike shop to have them assure us our assembly was sound, pump up the tires, and to show it off! (FLX Bike were impressed)!
(
I chose FLX because of their good components, design quality, aesthetics, and price point. FLX offers great products that compare well with e-bikes with much higher retail prices. Many of the e-bike brands just have a clumsy look to them. The fit of my Trail is perfect (and I am just 5'5" with shorter arms and legs). I ride in a more upright position on the FLX compared to my non-e -mountain bike, which makes the ride more comfortable and enjoyable. Clearing the top tube is no issue; there is a nice slope to the frame design.
The ride is really fun, peppy, smooth, and nearly silent. My Trail, a year later, is stock, with no modifications. I have had no mechanical or performance issues. I am not a technical, mechanically inclined rider. I just get on it and go, exploring neighborhoods and trails of the Western El Dorado County slope. I enjoy tearing up the steep hill out of our neighborhood, the one that well-conditoned, spandex-sporting riders push their bikes up. The bike has worked out so well; I have bought two more Trails this year. My husband and son enjoy them just as much. I can't tell you my speeds, miles, wattage, etc., because I don't keep close watch on that. I just take it out and have a great ride every time. Thank you, Rob and Pete for your innovating design, and courage to make a go of this. It is something that most dare not do, starting a company essentially from scratch. What you have done takes much hard work and learning as you go. We all wish you the best success.

The FLX Babymaker is awesome
The FLX Babymaker is an awesome ebike! From the day I tested the Babymaker at FLX shop until I got my own, I am blown away with its features and sleek design. Members of my bike group were also impressed by this ebike compared to their heavier and way more expensive ebikes. Some of my friends didn't even realize that the Babymaker was an ebike because of its stealth design, passing them with little effort particularly on uphill. FLX did a great job with this bike and FLX Bike have a great staff for support. Overall, I am very satisfied with the FLX Babymaker. If you are in the market for an ebike, look no further and get the FLX Babymaker.

What R U waiting 4?
Purchased in May of 2017... awesome e bike. I have logged 5500 miles so far. Set up for commuting with a thule rack and panniers, lights, and fenders and some schwhabe tires I manage 20 mph over a 44 mile commute everyday. 36 volt 17 amphr battery running at the highest power level setting can easily deliver 22 mile distance. Recharge at work takes 4 hrs and then its back home. Considering that I'm 64 years old this is a game changer. Ride takes about 1 hr and 10 minutes each 22 mile commute. I have regained much of my youthful strength and vigor and can also pack a change of clothes, lunch, and drinks without having to become a world class rider. Leave that car home! SOOO Much fun!

Breaking Necks!
... and thankfully not mine! The Babymaker is absolutely amazing. The look and feel of a road bike, but with electronic pedal assist for the hills or zooming the flats. I replaced the pedal with my Speedplay lollipops so I could still get that feel like my old road bike, but I've got some adapters so I can use tennis shoes or flip flops for a casual spin around. The lime green catches attention and compliments my car show set up. I love telling people all about the features of the bike and hope FLX Bike get one of their own.

I picked up my Babymaker as a Kickstarter because I believed in the concept and it was one of those solutions I didn't know I could get fixed! The FLX team kept me in the loop the whole time and yes, it took longer to arrive than anticipated, but that can be expected in these types of situations. Totally worth the wait and I'm enjoying both riding it and talking about it. Easy to assemble and all components feel solid.

Terrible company
Ordered a bike chain in August for an e bike that I purchased from the company. Since I live in Michigan I didn't install the chain until March due to season. Now the chain doesn't fit and FLX Bike won't allow me to return or exchange the chain the chain cost me $40 and after looking at the exact same chain on Amazon only cost $15. This is not the first time that I've been screwed by this company with bad business practices. My buddy built an ebike which is far more superior than the one I bought from them for far more money. FLX can suck a lemon

FLX Babymaker Pro Review
I absolutely love my Blue Raspberry Babymaker Pro and it came exactly as ordered. Shipping took about 4 months to happen for me, however FLX and FedEx stayed in touch with me throughout the entire process. One thing that was challenging for me was having to change the color and the handlebar style of the bike due to supply shortages, however I am very happy with my second choice and I would not trade it back for the Sterling Silver with upper bars. Thank you FLX.

Lousy Business Practices by FLX Bike Staff
In May 2016 (yes - one year ago) I paid in advance for a pair of FLX Trail bikes.

I provided a US delivery address. The plan was to keep one in the US and take one to a second home in France. However, I checked the wrong order box and ended up paying the higher shipping charge for EU delivery.

When I discovered this, I revised the shipping address to my French second home. The plan was to keep one there and bring one home.

When the bikes arrived in the EU, there was apparently a demand for a VAT tax. FLX Bike asked me to sign a power of attorney for an unknown entity to handle that transaction, but would not tell me the actual VAT tax amount. Suspicion arose that the EU might have assigned a higher value than I paid, and would assess the VAT tax rate on the higher value.

With this discovery, I contacted FLX and requested a revision back to my original US delivery address. After a prolonged series of emails, FLX agreed to this.

It is now May 2017 and FLX has not delivered the twin Trail bikes.

Their latest email claims that they have shifted to a newer stronger bike motor and battery design which will delay delivery until June 2017.

Looking on their website, I see that the new design G2 is priced at over $ 3000 each. This is much more than I paid in advance for each of their original models.

If the bikes don't arrive by end of June 2017 I will demand a full refund. If FLX does not comply, I will retain a lawyer and initiate charges of fraudulent business practices and non compliance with my prepaid order.

Has anybody else encountered this lousy execution by FLX staff?

Your customer service leaves much to be desired
Your customer service leaves much to be desired. You almost never answer the phone nor do you return emails in a timely fashion. Ordering a bike on your website is confusing. Does "sold out" mean no longer available or just out of stock? And if the latter, what is the estimated time until it's available? Does "add to cart" mean it's in stock and ready to ship or will there be a couple month wait due to supply chain issues? You also have virtually no information or product description on your accessories (e.g. Is the kickstand adjustable in lenght?, what is the recommended rider weight range for the suspension seat post?, etc.) Considering the high quality bikes you sell and the premium prices for which you sell them, you should show a bit more class. Dost and Rambo come to mind as good examples of how to run a direct customer order business There are too many fly by night e-bike companies out there already that have no dealer network and never answer thier phone.

Awesome Bike
Have had my roadster for a few months now and could not be happier with it. I used to ride a scooter to work in London and get in just as quick on the Flx taking in all the parks en route. The bike its self is top quality and with the 17ah battery the range is awesome. With the assist on my commute to work is a speedy breeze but I still get a work out. Highly recommend these bikes the are so much fun to ride...

I love my FLX Trail 5; I hate the customer service.
My bike was delivered in early January 2021. It was very well packaged, assembly was easy for the mechanically inclined, and the wheels were very well trued. L am a strong rider for being nearly 72. The majority of my rides are 25 to 50 miles, occasionally over 60 miles. Four months, and 1600 miles later the battery started depleting rapidly in the 40+ mile range, and it was near 20% about 10 miles later. BTW, I usually average 20+ mph in power level. In fact I often use level 0 on down hills to save battery & pedal harder. Marc R told me to get the battery "load tested. "Many places do that." I searched hard and found none, and neither can FLX load test a battery. Now Marc R has offered to have my battery tested by one of his techs who has the equipment at home for $75 & I pay shipping from East TX to San Diego. The purpose of me spending well over $100 to let me know what is going on with my battery, and this will be out of warranty. So Marc Reyes is telling me that I ride too hard, and too far, therefore I have worn my battery out prematurely, and FLX will not cover it. In contrast, I had a "Juiced" ebike I rode over 5000 miles when I sold it. It was 2+ years old and I was still riding it over 60 miles on occasion with power to spare.
The warranty: "All FLX bikes are protected by a one-year manufacturer warranty. Any component that has a manufacturing defect will be covered under the warranty. An FLX customer care agent will work with you on diagnosing the issue. If it's deemed that the battery is faulty, FLX (WILL) ship you a replacement, free of charge." I wonder if FLX Bike have ever made good on their warranty. If they won't stand behind my defective battery what will they stand behind?
Conclusion: FLX makes great bikes, but in the case of my bike the battery is junk; even worse is their warranty and customer service. I now know why they only get 3 stars. They actually used my review in their advertising campaign, and 6 months into a 1 year warranty they refuse to cover my battery. My advice to anyone reading this review, "DO NOT BUY AN FLX EBIKE!

Much Better Than I Was Expecting!
The staff at FLX provided excellent support and their hard work definitely shows. The quality of the Babymaker is second to none. Much better than I was expecting after seeing some negative posts. I have some steep hills on my way to work and it handles them with ease. I highly recommend purchasing this bike and any other bike FLX produces because of the quality workmanship and top shelf parts - like magura brakes and gates belt drive. Just be careful with the brakes, they're powerful!

They are the best!
I was an early purchaser through the crowd funding campain and am very pleased with my purchase. I had some problems with my bike when it first arrived but Pete and others were very helpful in resolving the issue.
My trail model bike is a blast to ride and with a little motor support flattens out the most daunting hills. I have found the bike to be a real head turner and am very pleased with the engineering and performance. I highly recommend this bike and this company. FLX Bike are the best!

Wow!
We got our 2 Trail bikes 7 days after we ordered them. FLX Bike were really easy to assemble from the boxes. There was just one issue and Rob and Pete reached right out to us when we told them and completely resolved it. The bikes are amazing. I loved the first time my wife tried hers and yelled WooHoo! When she started pedaling and felt the assist. Great job guys and we will be reccomending FLX bikes. We are having an amazing time FLXing.

Terrible Customer Service.
I purchased a bike from this company on Indiegogo, expecting my bike would be built in USA as I was led to believe and would be delivered to me in Canada September 2020. Their page states that your bike is Guaranteed.
I contacted customer service and was told Oct 27/2020 that my bike would be shipped from China and FLX Bike could not estimate the shipping date. They cannot advise when a bike will be shipped, and will not honor their guarantee. The customer service agent, Erica, was very rude about it.
Beware of supporting this company's indiegogo campaigns. Especially if you are an international customer.

Quality product
In all of my communications on the issues in the delivery of my bike. You have always responded promptly and have been a positive bel weather for the face of FLX.

Your attention to me as a consumer has been 2nd to none.
Please share my thoughts with Pete & Rob.

My FLX Attack has exceeded expectations. It has a nice street appeal. Quality seems to match FLX's product info.

Sagui,

All the best in your career with FLX. Your involvement in FLX, parallels and compliments everything Pete & Rob are trying to achieve as FLX Bike present their bikes to the public.

It has been nice being able to communicate with you. And together resolving any issues I have had.

Do not purchase a bike from this company!
I purchased my bike in August 2020, and here it is December 3rd and I still haven't received the bike. I tried to cancel the order and of course, FLX Bike won't provide any kind of a refund. The bikes are made in China and there's no guarantee of the quality or state of the construction. The customer service department just gives you the runaround and I'm sure that service after the purchase is totally up to the customer. I still have no idea when or if I'll ever receive the bike. I'm going to contact the BBB in San Diego and make a formal complaint and will seek legal advice to address the cancellation and refund issue. I strongly suggest you see your local cycle dealer to purchase your new e-bike and avoid scam companies.

Great Company to Work With!
I've had no problems at all in my dealings with FLX. FLX Bike are a dedicated, hard-working group and are doing their best under extremely difficult market conditions. I received my bike - a bit later than estimated - but they were very transparent regarding the situation and I was happy to receive the regular updates. My bike arrived safe & sound, was relatively easy to put together, and performs like a champ! I would not hesitate to purchase from them again.

Poor Customer Service/FLX Roadster has design problems
If your bike needs repair, prepare to leave it over 3 weeks before you get it back. But that's only if FLX Bike decide to repair it. My bike, after just one year and a mere 2300 miles, is cutting out. After numerous back and forth emails with on-line support describing the problem, the rep diagnosed it to be in the controller. I then asked how long it would take to make the repair and he said 1 week since he had worked my issue with the repair tech and that they have identified the problem so it should be quick. When I got there a few weeks later to drop off the bike, I got a whole different story from the repair tech who told me it would be at least 3+ weeks. Then he proceeded to give me attitude about how back-logged he is, that the upfront cost for running the diagnostics is $50 an hour, etc., etc, as if he was trying to talk me out of the repair! Eventually, the on-line tech who I had been communicating via email joined us but he was no help. He said nothing about what he and I had been emailing about and the controller problem he said he and the repair tech identified to be the problem. But given that I had already made the 2+ hour trek from my house to the shop, I decided to leave it regardless of the long repair wait. When I got home, I wrote the on-line support tech and complained about the experience. The next day, he wrote me to tell me that he felt bad about the experience and was able to get the repair tech to run the diagnostics. The problem - there wasn't one. Everything check out good. I was the problem from the way I was riding the bike by leaving it in 9th gear and predominately using the electric levels. In this way, it was normal for the bike to cut out.
When I picked up my bike, to minimize the cutting out, the on-line rep instructed me to only use 5th gear without any electric levels for a week to better familiarize myself with the gears. He said that the bike is designed to work this way - to use both the gears and the assist levels in tandem with each other but that I should first try only using the gears. He recommended that I do this trial using 5th gear. So I tried it. What a joke that advice was.
To get any pedalling traction at all from this bike, the gears must be set at either 8 or 9 otherwise you're spinning your wheels as there is very little traction. I tried other various combinations using the gears and assist levels 1 and 2. No matter what combination I used, the bike still cuts out. Finally, I reverted back to leaving the bike in 9th gear in conjunction with the assist levels. Eventually, when this bike is no longer usable, I'll sell it and go with an e-bike sold locally and supported locally.

One of the best decisions I have ever made.
Tomorrow marks the anniversary of when I made the decision to purchase my FLX Trail. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was riding my old bike up a steep hill on terrain that was very frustrating to try to navigate through. I told myself that the next time that I do this ride, itll be on an FLX. Purchasing this bike is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have made new friends, rekindled old friendships, increased my fitness and I have explored many amazing places. These are just a few examples. Every time I ride my bike I feel so grateful to have it! Looking forward to continuing this great journey. Thanks FLX! BTW, I ride up that previously mentioned hill all the time and now I smile the whole time.:-)

Great idea! Terrible execution UPDATED
UPDATE: The company finally got back to me and sent me the replacement for the defective motor. I was able to follow the step by step video instructions using the tools FLX Bike provided and make the motor swap. It worked perfectly and I love my bike. It really is an amazing piece of machinery now that it is working properly. ORIGINAL: I got my bike and after one ride it stopped working. They asked me to send pictures of the motor and the immediately identified that the motor was not correctly placed causing the wires to be pulled out of the motor. That was November 25th. I have yet to hear from them again. I have made repeated attempts to get them to respond, even said I would pay for the cost of having a local bike shop replace the motor. Nothing! You will spend a lot and once they have your money, good luck! Hopefully your bike will be one like they show off all the time and not a very heavy conversation piece that you can't ride again. I told all of my friends and family about his bike because I was so excited.
