Garrett Wade

This now the third time i've ordered from Garrett Wade and in all three cases the item ends up not being in stock and takes 30 - 60 days to get the item. This time Garrett Wade offered a free item with the purchase. I got the free item today and when I called about the rest of the order they said they were expecting it stock in 2 - 3 weeks. What really got me angry about this, is that because they sent me the free promotional item, they charged my credit card for the shipping. I could get nowhere with the customer service dept. as she keep saying that "this is the way we do it here". Charging me the $15 shipping when all they sent was the freebee really is giving them my money to spend for the next 30 - 60 days. When I said I would send back the free item because I didn't want to be charged until I got the item I ordered she said they couldn't take the item back. This is clearly a way for them get money without sending you what you ordered. Be careful with this company. I've now got three experiences where they didn't have what they said they have and now they are in my mind fraudulently taking my money.

I have subsequently been working with Orin Fraser at Garrett Wade and he's admitted to the mistake being made and has made the issue right in my mind. Thanks to Orin for fixing the issue.

I tried to purchase a product on the Garrett Wade website and I was confirming my order when I was suddenly directed to a new page that states "Error w're currently having technical issues please try again later". I tried to order the product a second time and the same thing happened so I gave up purchasing the product from Garrett Wade. I then received an email saying thank you for visiting the Garrett Wade website we noticed you have items in your cart and we've reserved them. Anyone with common sense would think "ok my order didn't go through". Instead I received 2 emails two days later saying my items have been shipped. I never received a receipt for the purchased that apparently went through during the technical difficulties. I called Garrett Wade and talked to three different people who all said the same thing "ma'am there's nothing we can do". I even spoke with a supervisor who sounded like she was half asleep and could care less about my situation. Absolutely ridiculous customer service and website. To anyone in the future considering ordering anything from Garrett Wade DON'T. I don't care if there are positive reviews posted on this site the amount of stress and frustration is not worth going through trust me.

I can't speak highly enough of the quality of the leather tool tote! I initially ordered three for the guys on my Christmas list. After seeing an examining the leather and the quality of the craftsmanship- I found myself ordering another one Now that's a lot of money for a tool bag. I think you are selling yourself short by not calling it an all purpose tote. I am a very busy woman -constantly running-And I would absolutely love carrying this bag on a daily basis to and from my car with everything I'll need for the day! It is extremely sturdy since being made specifically for guys and tools! I'm telling you it should be marketed as a steal of a deal for a unisex all leather /handmade square bottom everyday carryall tote - I wish my family would gift me one

I ordered the historic Odd Job for my son and recently ordered the reprint of the Stanley tools catalog. He has a lot of antique tools that belonged to my father and I thought he would appreciate the Odd Job even if he only used it as a paperweight. It is beautifully recreated and he loved it. It's a great gift for anyone who appreciates that fine art of woodworking. He will get the catalog this Christmas. I'm sure he will find some tools in there that belonged to his grandfather and will really appreciate them. In addition I really love their catalog which is full of interesting games, tools etc which are all beautifully crafted---truly a very unique company.

Garrett Wade sells a wide array of very high quality tools, leather and canvas items for craftsmen and gardeners. I've been very pleased with my purchases and interactions with them. Gardening is so much more satisfying when one has good tools that work well.

I have been a Garrett Wade customer since the 1980's! I have been because of the quality of tools and merchandise offered. An excellent company that strives to meet my satisfaction. Garrett Wade do listen and that's a strong enough reason for me to continue to do business with Garrett Wade!

I've long known that the right tool is half the job and GW offers the best tools around, a great variety and often surprises with new ideas. It's, by far, my favorite store when it comes to finding what I need to fix things and spend time resting from my other obligations in life.

Placed an order for the new multifunction garden hose nozzle to replace a nozzle that I had worn out. Got a notice that my order had been refunded, but no reason given. I know with new products and Covid delivery problems, availability can be impacted, but would have liked better information than we credited your card back for your purchase. Nothing about why it was cancelled or if it would be available in the future. Now I have to start hunting for a replacement from another source. Disappointing!

Garrett Wade has always been a favorite company of mine. I have shopped off and on with them for at least 25 years, and many of my best and favorite tools I purchased from them, from wood carving tools to garden tools. High quality. Good design. Good service.

We have been long time customers of Garrett Wade, but that is coming to an end. I purchase several items for gifts this holiday. When I ordered, I was offered a free flashlight... no biggie, but seemed like a nice perk. I also ordered two folding shovels. When the order was placed, everything was listed as in stock. The order confirmation showed that 1 of the shovels was back-ordered and would be shipped later. This was Dec 6th. On Dec 24, the shovels were listed as in stock on the web page, but Garrett Wade had never shipped. I contacted customer service and was told that the items would no longer be carried - however, not only were they still listed for sale on the website, they were listed as being in stock and I could add up 6 of them my cart. Not back ordered, not unavailable. I asked about this and the flashlight... and was told that the website and their stock were out of sync... and they had accidentally canceled the flashlight with the shovels and it could not be reinstated. Such a shame- not only their apparently ineptitude, but the complete lack of caring about their customers. We were wondering if they are under new ownership. This is such a difference from the Garrett Wade we have known.

I have been buying from Garrett Wade for many years. The uniqueness and quality AND usefulness of their products is excellent. I recently purchased Thread Snips and Machined Brass Seam Ripper for my wife who has started quilting and she loves them. Good company, good service, good products.

Item picked from a the catalogue and ordered on the internet was a smooth and quick process. This is my second order for these incredible trimmers. With this pair I purchased the holster which is an excellent addition when working outside to prevent accidental misplacement of your trimmers.

I placed my order on June 10,2020 and it was to include a "free gift". I received an email on June 13 stating my order was shipped. It arrived a few days later but it was only the "free gift". I let another few days pass and still no order. I finally contact Garrett Wade and get a response in another few days telling me my order is delayed until mid August. So far not great service. It shouldn't be up to me to keeps tabs on my order. Garrett Wade have my money - all I have is a free gift.

You purchase an item, get an email with a tracking #. The tracking # is a sham, you get a tracking # but the item has not been given to UPS yet. It can be days before Garrett Wade actually give the item to UPS. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THIS SITE AGAIN. Look somewhere else for same quality products.

Nothing is good or correct when you deal with Garrett-Wade company. Avid it in the first place.
First all, the deal Garrett Wade offer me was 2 for the price of 1. I only receive 1 item. Honestly I could catch it, cause the e-mailed receipt show only one item. I assumed falsely they were honest.
Shipping: They charge over $ 12.00 for small, 2 once package. They tax the shipping cost, although they shouldn't? Only companies located in the state of Illinois charges tax on shipping in the USA.
These guys are a rip off from the start to the end. Avoid them.

Bought five flyswatters from GW: wooden handles with heavy metal rods and mesh screen target areas. In less than a month, three have fallen apart completely and the other two don't have much left in them. Could have purchased 40 cheap plastic swatters at the local supermarket for less money.

This is a scam. I ordered a garden kneeler, Garrett Wade threw in a free flashlight, but still charged $12 for shipping. Then they canceled the garden kneeler, still sent the free flashlight, which is now a $3 flashlight for $12. I did not OK the cancellation or change of order. I am going to dispute the charge.

I got your text about 25% off if you spent $50 on certain tools. I found it to be a little difficult to tell which tools were included. However, I placed an order which I am certain will be satisfying. So, I would just make it very clear which items are suggested in any sale. Thank you for your excellent products.

I received a gift of things I already had. I tried to exchange them by following the clear exchange directions on the mailing label that came with my order. The company said Garrett Wade don't do exchanges and refused to honor what was clearly laid out in the form. They said the only way is to return the items and credit back to the original form of payment. As this was a gift, the gift recipient (me) loses the gift. The package was also missing items from the original order. NEVER BUY FROM THEM and NEVER DEAL WITH THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I hear that this used to be a good and trustworthy company; WHAT CHANGED?

Our order was pleasant from the "get go". The site was easy to navigate and finding the cute miner's lamp was easy. The price was very good so we were curious on how the quality would be. Turns out there was no need to worry. The lamp is quality made and cute! Would not hesitate to order from them again.

I recently wrote a one-star review for "lousy" customer service but am now giving Garrett Wade 5 stars. Right after my review was published, the company's customer service manager contacted me and fixed the problem. Garrett Wade earned me back as a loyal and enthusiastic customer thankfully, because they have great tools.
