I am trying to come up with a 5year plan, i know it's a little ways away but this is my family and I's dream. To be able to build are barn and finish the inside would be good for us, but we would like to have a loft as well so if you sell kits that has them so all the walls aren't 18' we would only need half of the building at 18' and the front half at 10-12'. I am a subcontractor down in Gulfport MS building pole barns and just would like to see what other prices are out there. I would be doing the work myself or have a contractor that is licensed and insured to help me.

Looking to develop of 40k sf insulated warehouse in Rock island, IL Just unsure of the type of roof pitch i need. The rooms inside are climate controlled and are 16ft high, so im looknig for a roof that can handle the snow load, and allows enough space for HVAC workers to do maintainec and install trunk and duct systems easily. This is why I chose 22ft wall height. Your feedback on the roof pitch is greatly appreciated. I have yet to hire a GC for the project. I am the business operator and land owner.

Need more detrails and inside pictures of your building ** a Q & A section... like can your up-rights for your buildings be installed on a type of concrete pillar to keep the steel off the floor... I have looked at many buildings like yours and found over time the steel where it is bolted to the concrete is starting to rust and rot... same as the metal side walls... can your walls sit on top of a formed concrete type 4' high wall so not to rust or rot? All theses types of building are good BUT the steel and water, weather don't work well together

I am looking at the prospect of building a home. I have a little acreage with a run down house on it that I am looking to possibly replace with a large building with a basement under its entirety partially used for living space as my home, and a multiple vehicle garage on one half of the building and a large workshop in the other half as a all in one home and shop environment with plenty of living space. I feel that the size building I have picked out would allow for this to be a two story home with a large basement for protection or expansion as I see fit in the future. I am grateful for the info found here because it allowed me to adjust my original thoughts on my project to a more popular sized building which will also provide yet again just slightly more space but also perhaps be a bit cheaper by using a popular size building rather than a custom size that may cost more. I just feel this is a very information site and look forward over time of working with someone to see how my project can be accomplished. Thanks

I am planning a retirement in about 8 years on a devastated retirement account and little hope of achieving any of the common financial goals one would expect of a man my age. We will be living in a very rural area and wanted a home that would blend into the environment and tickle our fancy for the unusual. My background as a graphic and industrial designer makes it easier to understand the structural and material design limitations we might encounter. For the sake of budgeting and labor conservation, we intend to plan and implement our design in stages. We own the acreage already but it hasn't been improved with utilities yet. Your building systems appear to allow us the flexibility of erecting the structure at a couple of different points in the process - giving us options that wouldn't be possible with other building methods.

I am helping a dance studio estimate the cost to erect a steel building for a large dance studio, open space, with some interior offices and rest rooms, kitchen, bar area, dressing rooms, storage areas for tables, chairs, etc.
Are you pricing the steel structure itself, our the erection of such?
Do you price any concrete slab work, or is that by others, as well as electrical and plumbing and HVAC, and internal and external wall prep? Insulation by you?
We basically need an estimate for the concrete slab, steel, roof, insulation and installation costs. We recognize all other trades will need to be coordinated with your work.

We are in process of buying about 3 Acres and would like to construct i10,000 Sq Ft n plus units to follow.

Green house, 24'x24' north wall to be 12' high sloping over 24' to 10' high south wall. The north wall would be all metal sheeting, the south wall would be metal sheeting to a height of 4'. The east and west walls would be metal sheeting to a height of 4'. The portion of the building frame with out the metal sheeting would be covered with tempered glass 5/32" thick provided and installed by the customer. One man door 36"on the south wall nearest the west wall as possible. Building installation/erection would be done by customer as well as foundation/slab.

I have 2 project plans, both are to put up RV garages. I plan to build them around, over, etc, 2 current garages. In the end, I planning on 15' interior ceilings, hope to have a minimum of 2 feet attic insulation, and on this particular size, to have a view deck on top. I believe current city building height is 18 ft, however, I'm in a location that variance will more than likely allow, possibly up to 21 ft. Also, depending on the dimensions of your walls, if General Steel are 2 x 4, then I will double then with wood 2x4's to greatly increase the insulation. Both will be climate controlled.

We are planning on building a new home and are considering planning a building on the same lot. We are in the early stages of planning, and lot still has yet to be secured. Plus, we still have yet to be told if we are able to have this type of building on our property. But we are still interested in planning ahead, learning what we need to do, and maybe sizing the unit more to meet our needs. We want to be sure we are not looking at doing more than we need for a small restroom, enough room to park (2) F-250's and have plenty of room left over for storage and a small work area, bench, etc.

I'm interested in a more custom building to serve as a guest cottage/workshop/storage; something more like a tiny house, really, with a sleeping loft. But your options/components sections aren't really as helpful as General Steel could be--I want to know what is possible structurally, I don't need so much info on colors and gutters! For example, you mention cupolas, but not how big they can be or what they are useful for. You mention mezzanines, but not if they can cover just part of the interior or need to cover all of it. What is a "portal frame?" All of your buildings are basic squares--are rounds/hexagonal/octagonal shapes possible?

And it's honestly not especially clear how much of the work is to be done myself or by a contractor, or whether you help find/provide a contractor, whereas some other companies make that very clear.

I also don't really appreciate being told I can price a building online only to find that no, I can't, I have to give you my information and have you contact me. Don't have a tab to price my building and tell me I can price it online when I actually cannot.

That said, I do like some of your options, and will certainly keep your site bookmarked and under consideration.

Insulated Two Story. Not commercial - for family and friends.
Ground floor will be two small apartments(25'X30 each, bathroom, kitchenette, closet, bedroom, living room), and a workshop.

I currently have this same size building but will be selling it as part of a larger complex. This building is currently being used for car, motor home and personal item storage. The size is ideal and would like to duplicate it entirely. I currently have a 14 foot roll up door for motor home, which I would prefer 16 or 18 foot door. Not sure of sidewall height, 18 to 20, guessing. Have 3 - 3070 walk Thru doors. Completely insulated, walls and ceilings with about 6" thick foil backed insulation, would consider panel insulation. Also have ridge vents full length of building.

Plain Jane exterior 4:12 or 5:12 pitch ridge vented roof. Wings on both sides... far side closed in.
Open to flexible design ideas.

Main body... living for 5 adults (1 couple in master suite) 3 large bedrooms total. Large open concept cathedral ceiling livingroom, diningroom and kitchen w large island. At least 2 bathrooms.

Driveway side wing for entry and vehicles. Far side closed in wing for 3 large utility/hobby/shop rooms. Roughly 20 x 20 each. Opening to house... possible exit doors also.

Land slopes... thinking floating deck under roof at end away from hwy. Utility storage under the end deck.
Entry door under carport and porch end. Few windows needed.
Well insulated spray foam maybe.
HVAC Mounted off ground, venting all in ceiling or high on side interior walls. Input will be needed from other members to make final decisions.

I am looking for a 30x40 shell with roof@4:12 with a 6x40 overhang in front and 10x40 overhang in the back both overhangs@ 2:12. We have an architectural plan drawn. Looking for installed price on our slab. Add additional pricing for a carport on the side? The shell will be 2 tone, bottom half to window height one color and balance another also with standing seam roof on all. It will be 6 windows and 2 man doors. I can provide drawing, Shell only we will provide all other framing and finishes. Looking to start project in late Feb. Early March.

I am looking to build a Shell for now insulated with a portion having radiant heat in the floor. Which I will over time build rooms with the majority of the building being open. Would like over hangs on the sides. Also needs to be able to pull 5th wheel camper and truck in and out of it so the wall height will need to be higher than the 10 ft I put on the form. I am trying to figure the project out and just at the beginning stage of it. Unfortunately I am going through a divorce and sellling home in next 2 months and want to downsize and live more simple

We are putting up a 80x100 building with 2 4000sf units in it. Each will have a front entrance, side entrance. The rear each unit will have an entrance, dock height overhead with tailboard plates and a drive up door. We are also planning a mezzanine in the front above the office 2000sf to match the size of office area below. 16' clear height to a 12' clear height at the rear wall but open to a different roof arrangement or pitch. 8 Conventional slider windows in the front on both levels.

I have an old house i want to enclose in a wrap-around steel structure which will constitute the exterior of a new home. I'll then demolish the old home at my leisure, retaining some of the first floor and walls. I intend that the first floor will be a basement and the second floor living space... the current old home sits on a footprint of 24 deepX36 wide, although with a variance from the city of springfield, oregon, i think i can expand this.
