I am so very proud and happy of being a breeder with the Good Dog Team. I have learned so much from their presentations and webinars. I truly love their mission statement. I hope other dog breeders join the Good Dog community.

I am a breeder on Good Dog, and have had an exceptionally positive experience working with Good Dog representatives. Good Dog have been very knowledgeable, helpful, and very quick to respond to my questions. I love all the educational webinars and the Avidog training available to breeders and buyers. I have met and found wonderful families for my puppies, whom I stay in contact with. It's a great sight for responsible buyers to find ethical and reputable breeders. Breeders must go through an application and approval process, as well as buyers.

Make sure you fill out an application as soon as you know you want to reserve a puppy. You don't pay a deposit at this point.

We are a Good Breeder at Good Dog, doing business as Shomaisou Shiba Inu. We began our association with Good Dog in February 2019. We love that the staff at Good Dog have so much passion around building a better community of breeders and puppy buyers and that Good Dog spent so much time learning from breeders what it takes to be a Good Breeder then build on that feedback. Requiring all breeders to perform health testing on their breeding is one of the most important requirements to us. Good Dog did such an excellent job of making it easy to accept and manage applications that we abandoned our legacy website where our application resided, and we pointed our domain http://shomaisou.com to our Good Dog portal instead. Good Dog does all the heavy lifting for us now when it comes to managing applications. Other things we value are the mediation services, contract templates, code of ethics, breeder and buyer education. The webinars are included some of the most respected people in the breeder community. We get more applications for puppies and adult dogs than can be processed. We must pause applications because we can't screen them all (We also maintain an AKC Marketplace presence. The quality of the puppy buyer is much better at Good Dog). We value that Good Dog partners with clubs and offers grants to help improve dog breeding. In our case we (Heart of Dixie Shiba Fanciers) utilized a grant in 2021 to sponsor the enrollment of dogs into a genetic study of glaucoma in the Shiba Inu at Penn Vet, University of Pennsylvania. I can't imagine managing our kennels without Good Dog.

My sister and I both had a great experience on this site! We found amazing quality dogs, supportive breeders etc. So happy to find it!

The number of health tests is how a breeder is rated "excellent" "good" etc.
Good Dog does NOT confirm whether the breeder actually breeds the designated breed Good Dog state. Registration certificates are not checked.
If Good Dog states on their website a breeder is breeding a purebred dog they should confirm the registration certificates stating the dogs are of that particular breed.
I have spoken with Good Dog and they say they aren't able to check registration certificates but only health certificates.
Be careful when screening any breeders used on this site. Confirm the sire and dam's registration certificates of a reputable breed club and look at the breed designation.

Great customer service. Once I finished setting everything up I realized I had made a mistake and Good Dog quickly helped me fix it. I love that I can post multiple pictures of my litter and the parents of the put.

Good Dog takes the leg work out of verifying breeders are responsible, ethical, and breeding health tested dogs.

Good Dog makes it easy, the entire transaction can be done through them, from browsing to payment.
Good dog offers many tools and resources to their breeders, including but not limited to monthly discounts, education, webinars with veterinarians, and reproductive specialists. I truly cannot say enough about Good Dog!

It's so worth it to know you are getting a healthy puppy from a responsible breeder, and not supporting puppy mills. When you get a puppy from Good Dog you can guarantee you're getting a healthy puppy from a loving, experienced breeder.
