The man who came out to see me was very good 🙂 the fitter however was not very reliable and he missed the appointment the first time so I had to juggle my day and chase him up he said his computer had gone down so maybe he needs a more uptondate one I'm not sure .He came to fit them and forgot to leave some hooks on one side to tie the strings too ,but did them in the other side . and also instead of one pelmet as I wanted it was divided into three so looks a bit hit and miss and the middle one sticks out a bit , I was not happy either having all the rubbish left behind and having to clean up after and take all the boxes and paper to the tip .
The gentleman who came and did the initial survey was really helpful and gave a very good price for what I needed. When he came to fit the blinds he was very tidy and worked calmly. He took the old tatty original blinds down (NOT Hillarys) and then installed the new Hillarys blinds. They look lovely and the blackout ones in the bedroom are very effective at not allowing light in. Most impressed with the service and the goods. Would recommend to all.
I would recommend you DON'T use this company! I ordered ivory curtains which came with a yellow/cream lining (which I did not request in fact I requested a light lining to match other curtains at the front of the house) it completely changes the colour of the curtains. Some of the curtains are too short too. After speaking to Customer Services and sending in photos I received an email from Hillarys saying they feel the curtains are satisfactory - which they clearly are not! I will be contacting them again as this is clearly not what was ordered.
I’ve used Hilary’s for 12 yrs. Recently bought high end (£1.5k) curtains which are great. It’s the hanging that was disastrous. 4 return visits, and they’re still coming off rail. Just had call from random sales team. When I said I was unlikely to use them again, she said, OK and was ready to hang up. I asked if she wanted to know why. She replied “not really. If you want to complain, do so to customer services” - and hung up.
Excellent customer service from booking the appointment, through the visits for helping us choose blinds and curtains fir the lounge-dining room and installation of the curtains and blinds.
So impressed we have ordered blinds for the study and conservatory since.
Pricing was reasonable. We benefitted as there was a sale on the blinds we chose. We had compared with some other places but valued the full service Hillary’s provided.
Having just decorated the lounge-dining room the curtains and blinds make the room perfect and restful. Now just need the furniture to be delivered to complete the look.
We had a blackout blind fitted nearly two weeks ago, after the fitting as the weather was warm we went to open the window and found that the handles were catching the blind surround.
I contacted the fitter he advised that it would require a spacer which he said he would order and confirmed it would take. Few days and he would get in touch to call again. Two days after they should have arrived, I’ve heard nothing.
Not happy with the lack of customer service, meaning I have to chase again
I'm delighted with my new blinds. I had originally intended to only have 3 vertical blinds, but in the end decided to have another 2 roller blinds. Lee, who came and measured and fitted had no problems with going back out to get the samples for the rolllers, he was helpful, professional and friendly.
The day of fitting, he was on time, and got on with the job, leaving everything clean and tidy, and my blinds look fantastic.
I have no hesitation in giving Hillary Blinds my recommendation.

Had a nightmare experience with Hillary’s. Their fitter scratched & damaged my brand new wooden floors. I sent a complaint and photos to Hillary’s but they refused to compensate me. The fitter’s job was a sham. He didn’t add one of the window dressings in a straight line. He didn’t finish the job in one day as he had promised to do. His behaviour in my home was rude. I wasted a lot of money (upfront payment) for a service and product which was a sham. I’ll be going to another company now to get window dressings for my home. I can’t believe I had this experience with Hillary’s. It caused me a lot of sleepless nights.
A bit of a mixed bag for us really. We ordered a number of blinds for our new property and shutters for our kitchen. Still waiting for the shutters so this review is only in relation to the blinds.
Really happy with our Roman and Venetian blind. Good quality, good fit and great colour. They were with us quickly and installation was great. Really pleased.
We also ordered a perfect fit blind. When ordering I made it clear I was looking for something “black out” as it was for my toddler’s room. The material is black out but the blind itself lets more light in that the £5 temporaries that we had when we moved in!
I could have spent far less money and ordered online for a similar product that did the job. We thought that having an advisor to the house to quote and measure would guarantee us with the right products but sadly this hasn’t been the case. I’m disappointed I will now need to buy curtains or a whole new blind to fill the brief I initially had, My Son won’t sleep with the blind as it is. Feel a little as though I’ve wasted my money with this blind specifically and it’s a lot of money to waste.
Very pleased with Hllarys service. Gentleman came on date and time that was booked. Measured for kitchen blind. Showed me sample which I chose on line. It was great to actually see and feel the material. When it was fitted it beautifully finished off my kitchen. Couldn't have chose better. Easier to have it all done by one company. Than going out to find a roller blind and paying a workman to fit it. I'm so pleased . Thankyou Hillarys.
David our advisor was on time was courteous and polite. We found him easy to talk to and explained we didnt want anything to pricey so he got out a collection and we soon found what we wanted, he measured up, gave us a date when they would be ready.
Informed us when completed came on the date fitted them very well and we are really happy with his work. arranged with him to come in September so we can chose two roller blinds.
one of the tracks wasnt quite right but hes getting anther made to replace all in all extremely happy, Stuart & Pam
The blinds were due to be fitted on 14 Jun. Wrong brackets sent for the bays. Told 2-3 days for the brackets to be delivered. Then when they didn't turn up 3-5 days. Turned up today but only posted yesterday (21 Jun)! Talking of a fitting date now of 28 Jun. Not very happy that, although the Agent says he will phone me back, he doesn't I always have to chase him! Not overly impressed by my experience, just hope the blinds are of a good quality when I eventually get them!
The rep was personable, knowledgeable, and prompt. The goods were ordered, made and delivered in the time quoted. The blinds were fitted in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.
The big disappointment is that the "perfect fit" bedroom blinds do not exclude as much light as we had hoped - whilst we were advised and accepted that they would not totally exclude daylight, we thought and hoped there would be significant reduction.
Sadly there is only marginal improvement, so our quest for a supplier of better equipment continues.
We have been delighted with the service and products received from Hillarys and fitted by Paul. We have had motorised blinds for our conservatory, very long curtains for our living area and venetian blinds in a bathroom fitted at various times during the last year or so and we are extremely happy with them all. Paul was very helpful from start to finish with excellent communication on all the different stages of the purchases. We will not hesitate to use Hillarys again.
The fitter arranged to be with me for 9.00 am as I had to travel 200 miles in the afternoon for a meeting. I called in a couple of times after 11am for an update to no avail. I then contacted HO and they were also not able to make contact with him. Apparently he ticked up at 1.30pm no apology or explanation. Luckily my daughter was at home. Blinds fitted but not very well. I picked venitions and they do not block the light or close properly. Definitely would not recommend Hillary’s. Save your money and shop elsewhere
We are very happy with the visual look of our blinds, but very disappointed with the actual operation of them, we paid over a ÂŁ1000 for your product, expecting state of the art fittings, the blind installation framework is secured using 6 brackets, the blind then slides up or down the inside of the frame, talk about clunk click, the blind catches every bracket,. In this day and age a very poor bracket securing design, 4 blinds 24 clunk clicks. Not happy.
The whole process was simplicity itself. I rang to make an appointment, and the salesman/fitter came to discuss my requirements. He advised the best products for my windows, and was happy to discuss the alternatives. I selected the products I liked and he arranged to have samples sent for me to make sure I had made the right choice.
The price was more economic than I had braced myself for, and the fitter worked out everything at that first appointment. I then had three months to make up my mind!
When I called to confirm the order, I was given the option of paying in full, or paying a deposit with the remainder payable when the products had been fitted. I elected to pay a deposit, somewhat cynically feeling that if there were any problems, I would have a lever for any complaint I may have to raise. I needn't have worried, because everything went without a hitch. The fitter sent me a text to confirm I was happy for the fitting to go ahead as planned, he and my dog greeted each other like old pals, and he set to work, finishing in good time, and tidying up after himself as well!
Throughout , I had no problems, everyone I spoke to was unfailingly helpful and polite.

Thank you for the great service you gave us from start to finish. Michael Whitehead-HIGHLAND was our advisor, he arrived and listened to what we wanted, then left us to go through the samples while he went and measured the windows. He then gave us a price which we found acceptable. it was arranged for them to be fitted 4 weeks later. Michael arrived on time, fitted them and made sure it was tidy before he left. No problems at all. Very efficient thank you Michael and thank you Hillarys,

Fitting service extremely upsetting process. Fitter was intimidating, not experienced, provided sub standard service and not what was expected of this company.
Some blinds don’t fit, only one of six blinds purchased has been fully fitted. Four were left secured but not completed and one secured, not completed was measured poorly and does not fit.
We have now waited 6 weeks for someone to contac us to confirm when the job will be finished. We have made numerous calls to the company to be told the job has been passed to a new team and someone would contact us to arrange next appointment and have hears nothing. We have also emailed the company only to be given the same response, someone will be in touch. I would not recommend Hillary’s to anyone.
I had a prompt reply to my enquiry about conservatory blinds to fit double doors and given a date for the reps visit. The rep came at the time he was expected and a quotation was given on the same day. After a call to their office, a deposit was paid and a date arranged for fitting. The same rep came to do the fitting, which was done with care. After the fitting he cleared up perfectly and I was very pleased with the outcome. The price was sensible and the blinds were good quality as was the workmanship of the fitting.
