No Customer Service!
I booked a flight in April, i think cancelled it several months later. The app doesn't reflect the cancellation and Hopper have removed the options to change or cancel flights. There is no customer service number to call, no real time chat service either. You can only submit a request and wait for them to respond. And wait, and wait, and wait, until you cut your losses and chalk it up as a lesson learned. I don't think they started as a fraudulent company, but once the pandemic hit, something went terribly wrong, and now what they are doing likely borders on illegal activity. They brag about their investors on their website, so I would encourage folks to also reach out to those investors as well with these complaints.

Warning! Hopper is a scam app! Do not use them!
I opted to use the price freeze because right on that page it says that if the price goes up you will only pay the price freeze amount. Within 10 minutes the total went up to $1500 instead of my price freeze amount of $732 total. Hopper then told me by email of course that I could not cancel even though I tried to cancel within 30 minutes. This place is a scam. I looked at the hotel again and it's back down but as soon as you price freeze it goes up. Even though it says you will pay price freeze they will only cover $100 of the total price. Scam Scam Scam! Do not use hopper. WARNING! I have attached a screen shot of what the website tells you on the page to price freeze! SCAM

THE WORST EVER! AVOID AT ALL COST!
Horrendous customer service! God forbid if you have to change or cancel any part of your itinerary (like I had to because of the coronavirus scare). Customer service is so bad that it will leave you gasping for air!

After two weeks of making several calls and sending emails/messages to them and multiple airlines, I still have no information of refunds of upto $1800 owed to me.

Shocking, disgusting, horrible customer service!

Best to use app to browse what deals are out there and then book with someone else who will actually be there to assist you with your customer needs.

Horrible customer service
I would truly rate this company a 2/10. Placed a trip with full cancellation about 6 months ago. Cancelled the trip almost 3 full weeks before departing date and was told I would be fully refunded in payment periods. Unless they're payments periods are every 3 months then I have blatantly been robbed. I have reached out over 24 times regarding this refund with automated responses every single time saying don't worry we will refund you but still nothing comes of it. There's no customer service phone number or email, I can't talk to an employee of this company, and Hopper have continuously lied about refunding my 600$ which I actually paid extra for to be able to cancel and receive my refund. Less than 3 months later I messed up on ordering tickets through Alaska airlines. Within 2 minutes of being on the phone with a representative I Was able to get a full refund back into my account and order a new ticket. I would strongly suggest anyone to not use this site as there are thousands of other companies who do exactly what hopper does but actually stand behind there word and issue refunds. Truly disappointed and will continue to fight this claim until I get paid. May take a year at this point but I'm going to do it. $#*! you hopper from the bottom of my heart.

App is some BS!
This app is the ultimate worse of them all! Do not book a hotel with them. I booked for the Hyde Miami midtown hotel in advance, I called the hotel a week after I booked for them to say my reservation was not in the system, I contacted hopper Hopper stated that my reservation was locked in with the hotel it wouldn't populate until the month of. I then contacted the room again 3 weeks before my trip for them to tell me once again that my reservation is not in the system for the dates I booked for. I contacted hopper for customer service to email me saying they was going to submit my reservation over then sends an email stating the hotel can't honor my booking that I made in advance. Then the customer service took it upon themselves to relocate me 3 weeks before my trip. Which I never approved to be relocated. The group I am going with booked for the same hotel and we made plans based off our location for them to put me at a hotel I didn't want to stay at and is far from where my party was going to be. On hopper it still shows the rooms available for that same exact hotel but for a higher price which makes me more upset. So if I was booked with the higher price I'm guaranteed a room which is unfair. I asked if I can be accommodated for what I paid for since it was available however I received minimal response from customer service and instead of trying to help me get what I originally booked all she did is cancelled the room and provided my refund. I will never book with this app again and I had everyone in my party that I referred this app to delete it. I'm very disappointed!

Hopper is Fraud never book a ticket through them...
I have booked my ticket through Hopper with British Airways and paid for all types of insurance too and my flight was on March 14,2020, from USA to Turkey and return on March 31,2020, from Turkey to USA, however, due to COVID-19 President Trump banned all Travels from USA to Europe and vice versa on March 11,2020 so I have messaged Hopper since this fraud company has no direct number, I contacted British Airways couldn't reach anyone for days till to date. I don't know how to sue them Hopper have my money more than 3 weeks now. Today I rechecked Hopper messenger they removed all my flight info and messages They are fraud never buy ticket from them and the government should find out where they are located and they should be jailed by stealing people money during this pandemic and unemployment.

Please be sure to read my review if you're considering using this app. I recently was looking into booking a trip and I considered using the Hopper App. Big mistake I was still on the fence about which room I wanted to book, but the room I was considering stated 100% refundable and a pop up came up that I could freeze the rate and I had so much time to finalize my reservation, let me mind you I did a screenshot of everything nothing showed non refundable.

However, my flight was changed and I decided to cancel the price freeze the very next day. However, I was advised that it was non refundable and Hopper charged me 371.00 and there was no option to cancel. I called customer service and I received no assistance. Please stay away from this app. Their scammers

I wish I could give 0 stars
Hopper has zero customer service. You are only able to message with a bot through the app and once you start asking for a refund Hopper stop responding all together. I have 2 tickets booked through Hopper to fly on Hawaiian airlines. The airline cancelled my flights I attempted several times to get in contact with Hopper over several weeks and was only ever able to get a generic automated response. I finally reached out to Hawaiian airlines and was informed I was eligible for a refund and Hopper should be refunding me in full. I've sent screen shots to Hopper and still have not received any response. I have now filed complaints with the BBB and the DOT. Everyone else that is experiencing these issues should also file complaints. Hopper is receiving our refunds and not releasing them to us.

The WORST
After receiving horrible customer service from not only the hotel, but Hopper was not help at all. The hotel I room I was given was filled with sticky stains on the floor, stained sheets, and ripped curtains. I relayed all of this to Hopper and all Hopper did was send the same message I had already told the front desk, back to the front desk. They did absolute nothing to fight and help me as a customer of their service which was sorely disappointing. They do not prescreen their hotels nor do they care for their customers well being and will not be helpful if you have any issues. I strongly advise not to waste your money on this service.

No customer service no support stolen money
No customer service no support stolen money I booked a hotel room through this app the hotel was unable to accommodate us because Hopper did not have hot water they return my money to hopper I have not been able to get in contact with this company for over one week now I called their customer service in Canada you can only leave a message I have left several messages no one has contacted me back because my trip has already passed I can't get any customer service help doesn't give me the option my money was stolen from me I went over the weekend for a family funeral I did not have extra money to pay for another Hotel room and I still haven't been contacted back about my refund that was given back to hopper from the hotel I stayed in please return my money we are in a pandemic and most of us don't have money to just give you

Do not waste your time and money
Understanding this is a very tough time, circumstances are trying. However, my flight got changed and no one notified us. Not only did the flight change it never ended up taking us home! You absolutely can not get ahold of of anyone. No phone number, no e mail. A chat that does everything in it's power to not have an employee talk to you. So now I had to pay over 600 dollars extra for a same day flight. My daughter who just graduated high school, which is why we had to travel, had to miss work. Now we will have to pay for an uber to make it to our car. The site said Hopper will not refund us all of our money. If I didn't have a schedule full of people whom I have to see and take care of during this pandemic I would have been able to wait for a different flight, but people are counting on me to be there. Do NOT book with Hopper.

BEWARE- THEY ARE A SCAM
Booke flights through them months in advance. Two weeks before my trip Hopper somehow accidentally cancelled my flight and offered to rebook it for an extra $900... fought and fought about how that wasn't right but they didn't care. Had to file a complaint with the better business bureau to get my money back but because my trip was so close then they flight was triple the price from when I had secured it months earlier. Had purchased another flight through them (before this happened) for about a month later and THE SAME THING. They are scamming people by booking flights way in advance and then making changes and forcing people to pay more money just to keep them from cancelling their flight once the flight gets closer! SCAM ALERT. Don't fall for it!

No confirmation nor transaction history. But credit card charged
I used the search function for my flights using hopper app today and I did not see any final details of the flights amounts breakdown. I did not submit my purchase request as i wanted to see the total breakdown before closing the deal. Nothing has been through to the end of the transaction within the system as the errors message pops up in the middle. But I have been charged $1600. 88 in my credit card. I do not see any confirmation sent either by hopper or the airline. Can not even cancel the flights as there is no history in the the past booking within the app. Hopper do not have a phone number to call which makes things worse. How to fix the issue without a confirmation number or transaction records but a credit card charged fully? Please contact me and I hope to resolve it within 24 hours of so-called booking cancellation timeframe. Thanks.

Horrendous Customer Experiece
Hopper changed my flight without notification or my permission. After contacting American Airlines over a half-dozen times, I discovered that a change request had come from Hopper on March 11th, 2021. You can imagine my surprise after discovering the change the morning of my flight. It was a rather horrible experience that my flight was scheduled 5 hours earlier than my original booking.

Since then, contacting Hopper has proven nigh on impossible. As a result of the pandemic, Hopper has more or less dismantled their customer service arm. There is no phone number. There is not live-chat. The only option I have is an email service that is completely under water due to similar situations to mine. This is what happens when a "unicorn" tech start up prioritizes profits over customer experience. Not only did Hopper rob me of $225, but also Hopper ruined my Sunday flight experience. As if flying isn't axiety inducing enough, the app managed to turn a regular return voyage into a catastrophic experience. Under no circumstances should you ever book with Hopper. I repeat this app is a hostage situation. Stay away.

FRAUDULENT
Hopper has no real customer service. Hopper have computer generated auto responses, but no live person on the other end of the "live chat". I requested to modify my daughter's itinerary. She was looking to stay an extra 2 weeks on vacation. I messaged them on their "live chat" three days running and only received auto responses. One of the responses states that my request has been sent to the support team, and to "feel free to go about your day and close the app in the meantime-they'll ping you as soon as they have more information for your request!" that was 19 hours ago, and nothing yet. Hopper customer service has no direct phone number on its app. Furthermore, I purchased the cancellation insurance. When you tap the refund button, it redirects you to the same "live chat", where you receive an auto generated response.

No Customer Service
I bought flights for Europe for my family of 5 with Hopper for July 2020, when travel was canceled due to Covid-19. My flight was canceled so I contacted the airline we were traveling with, British Airways, and Hopper were giving out refunds, but since we booked through Hopper they told me Hopper would be the one issuing the refund. I have contacted Hopper multiple times since then, through their App, and each time all I receive is an automated response saying they will contact me within 24 hours and I've never heard from them. So, no other communication, no phone number to call, so basically they kept the $5,000 we paid for the tickets, and that's just wrong! This has been extremely frustrating! We also bought AON travel insurance through Hopper and they have denied my claim twice now, when it said we could "cancel for any reason". I don't know what else to do to get my money back! It's been 8 months now that I have been waiting to talk to somebody. Zero customer service. I feel robbed! My advise is, NEVER ever use Hopper.

Scam. Stay away!
Used this app to book a hotel room; when I arrived at the hotel I was told no rooms were available and that no reservations were under my name. I showed them the confirmation from hopper, but it didn't matter.
Had to get another hotel room last minute (more expensive) AND eat the cost from the hopper app, because even after contacting them and disputing the fee on my credit card Hopper refused to give a refund.

UPDATE: Hopper ended up siding with LaQuinta (big suprise), who claimed that 'after searching for my room for a while, the front desk clerk DID find it and that I decided to leave afterwards.'

I left Expedia for this?!
Don't get me wrong, expedia can be a headache but at least you can chat with a real person. Hopper states that my flight is handled by the airline when I try to change or cancel. Ok. I contacted the airline and got an actual person on the phone and Hopper said I have to cancel through the app(which is what I thought was the case). I go back to the app and of course it is impossible to get someone on the phone so I can only sit and wait(and hope) until someone responds to my cancellation request I sent via email. I'll just deal with expedia in the future.

Fraudulent company
Freeze 7 tickets price, but I notice I selected wrong schedule, search options to cancel my transaction and found different ways to do it but non of them were real, it said there is an option to "cancel my trip" under help menu but is not. Every time to try to "contact us" link the app is not responding! There is no phone number, just information about Frequent Questions but nothing to cancel. Replayed email received for transaction confirmation Hopper answer: "Dear Hopper Customer,

Has passed 3 days an had no answers. Called to my bank to report fraud and try to get my money back

Hopper Let Me Down
I booked a trip that claimed to have many included perks. The outbound flight was on Virgin Atlantic (main cabin) serviced by Delta who downgraded me to basic economy which took away the perks like seat selection. I reached out to Hopper FOUR times so far with no response but to contact the airlines directly. An hour and sixteen minutes on hold with Virgin Atlantic and an hour and ten minutes on the phone with Delta to get "you need to contact Hopper". This has been a nightmare. I will only ever book through the airlines directly. Hopper is useful to estimate when to buy but that is all. Do not book through them.
