So, I call back in 30 days and talked to three levels of management, all progressively worse in their customer service attitudes! I was on the phone over 40 minutes and all I was told is I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE DUPLICATE TITLE! I am just amazed at this. It is obviously their fault but no acceptance of their error. I filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General yesterday and hope they can assist.
Stay away!
I was under false pretense (info I received from a Kia Finance representative... made her confirm TWICE over a recorded line) that my automatic payment wouldn't activate if I paid off a few day prior.
I overpay my bill, as a result, my monthly payments go down. December rolls around, and to save some money for gifts, I paid the minimum payment required.
Not only did the auto-payment take effect, it left my account in the red... ON Christmas week! My birthday is also 12/30. So I had no money to travel to see my family, no money to go out for my birthday if I wanted to, all because misinformation I received. I immediately called Kia Finance, in which Kia Motors Finance gave me 2 fax lines to submit my bank statement. So on top of everything else, I was forced to spent the last of my petty cash on faxing my information.
It has been 3 weeks and 3 days. I have been contacting Kia Finance ever since and they STILL haven't processed a refund check. I have spoken to supervisors and I still get nowhere. They may as well just kept my payment since another one is due next week.
Unprofessional as far as ethics and sympathy is concerned.
I vow to write a negative review on all review websites every day I do not receive my refund.
I payed June payment May 20th online. It cleared my bank on the 22nd. When I look at payment history is shows it there but not placed on principal and interest. This happened to me in May to but when I received a email saying my payment was late I was shocked then when I looked at my payment history I seen the payment was never moved over to principal and interest.
I called Kia and was able to get if fixed within a week. When I talked to Kia that day I said I see my June payment was also just sitting there. I was told that to would get fixed. Each week I call this is a joke I am on hold at least a hour to two before someone picks up. Every week they say the same thing. We can see the payment we are unable to transfer you to accounting they do not take phone calls all we can do is email them. Accounting will have it fixed within a week. May 20th they received my June payment it is now July 8th with nothing being done.
Not sure what I am able to do if Kia reports my payment late to the credit bureau all I know is until they fix this I am to afraid to make my July payment.
To make the story short now, the finance rep. Who we dealt with (name really irrelevant in the sense of the very real story and the point of the story) came back to us and said he does not know who will be financing us. At first, that caused an alarm and I asked if caller ID would be available and Kia Motors Finance said it should. The call did come, and of course no calller ID. And, the name of the financial institution was not Kia Finance or whatever it is supposed to be - apparently Kia financed us.
And to conclude, the owners of the both Jenkins Kia and Kia Finance have no responsibility to improve their image or customer service. So I totally agree with all the bad reviews here. In fact, I would go so far as to say the co-owner of the Kia Sorrento is also a legal con artist and engineered the con with the dealership and the finance department. How convenient, the one with a better credit score and better character ends up paying for a vehicle that he does not even drive.
Today 10/27/30 called KIA Young girl answered and I had to hang up because of all the back crying
I called back and spoke to another young girl who again could not put sentences together yet alone answer your questions So I asked to speak to Supervisor I got someone named Eddy who again didn't really understand questions and sounded very young he stated my account was set today that I had to wait until 11/6/20 to make a payment to set up account even thought it took KIA 21 dats to set up my new account. So basically because of their incompetence I as a Customer had to make many calls including the dealership several times and will still have to do that to set up something that every company out there wishes their customers will do
This place has no clue how to treat customers, answer questions and treat customers so they can leave with a good experience but being that they are so unprofessional and young you can tell by their responses and inattentiveness that they could care less even Eddy the Supervisor which is why it prompted me to write this DONT USE KIA FINANCIAL YOU WILL REGRET IT LIKE I AM IT's GOING TO BE A LONG LEASE IF I HAVE TO KEEP CALLING THEM FOR HELP
Let's start with their website, Practically the most Arcadia way of paying bills; they use a checking measure which if most knows takes way more longer than that of a Credit or debit card transaction which is perhaps the most simplistic way of paying a bill online the transaction shouldn't take no more than a day. When i asked them why they don't use the credit or debit system on their website, they couldn't give me a straight answer for it but a whole lot of dodging talking about it works for them... which leads me to my next issue.
Because they use a checking system to paying bills; it doesn't matter if you pay the bill on time or not. The estimate time that checking goes thru to any place is usually 2-4 days (Maybe longer if there's a holiday) So that means you must have money in your account otherwise it will default and us being humans we are usually under assumptions that once you make payment that's it your're done... nope not so much; cause if you don't have money in your account even though the banks said you already made the payment it doesn't matter, you didn't according to Kia... which means if you miss 3 payments the site and the automated features over the phone (which you can use the credit or debit card for $3.50 I believe which is a rip off of its own.) gets cut off for three months!
Which means not only your amount you own increases but you LITERALLY have to call them and make payments for an additional $7.95 which is utter BS. So now i have a bill for $633.00 and its taxing to even think that this finance company thinks backwards instead of improving/updating on something it severely broken this is highway robbery of the highest form... no other car company has this many issues like KMF does at least I heard from others that places like BMW, Hyundai, ETC. uses debit/credit card in their systems this one does not!
Once my payments are made i think i'm done with these guys or i'll just go used and worry about the banks instead of these guys... don't go with KMF they are rip offs.
KIA you screwed up! I was in contact with you! No one said anything about returned mail! I was asked my name and birthdate to verify me, why not ask address? I asked why the payment was not made, WHY was nothing said? I made at lease 20 calls, each time, I asked what the problem was. I was told These things take time.' Your account is in process of being finalized.' I say BULL SH**! You want more money! Horrible company! Horrible business practices! I will tell anyone and everyone about how horrid you are!
They talked to him personally even though they have the leasing paperwork right in front of them and can see that his last name and mine are the same. They absolutely refuse to fix their mistake.
The documents they sent me are something they filled out with an incorrect address and incorrect last name and expect me to get it notorized and send back to them, otherwise, I will have to pay taxes on a leased vehicle. I honestly think they did this on purpose hoping that I would not notice, or that the time would be up and I would have to pay the $1500 for the taxes on the car. I can't believe anyone can be that ignorant when typing in names and addresses.
The customer service person and supervisor that I talked to just kept saying the same thing about how my husband would have to call and get his name corrected even though they knew it was incorrect and it was their fault. This is ridiculous and there is no reason they could not fix a simple misspelling and send me the correct paperwork.
Of course this is the just one of a number of problems I have had with the financing department and Kia motors. I absolutely will never get another Kia. And I advise anyone thinking of dealing with Kia to seriously investigate other options. I like the car I have but despise the customer service and how they do business. As soon as I can get rid of this leased vehicle, I will, and I will never do business with this company again.
I set up auto-payments to pay 4 days before the due date each month. Got confirmation emails and it showed online. Great. The date to pay comes and I get and email they received my payment. Great. It clears my bank account. All seems well. The day after it's due I get an email I'm late. What!? Call and spend over an hour getting the run around, one person says it's late, another it's not and no one will give us anything in writing showing the account is current. Sat on hold for a supervisor and got hung up on. Called back and got someone else who claims they are fixing it but no one has the ability to give anything in writing. I can log into my account and verify it was corrected in a week and print that out. That is not the same thing and I don't trust anything they are saying now. Supposedly it was a glitch that impacted thousands of customers so you'd think they could communicate with those customers. Horrible, horrible, horrible!
We had to make a payment late because I got a new job and we all know about that lag between starting a new gig and the first paycheck. I called them to inform them of this and they said they would note it to my account and no collection calls would happen. Literally THE DAY after my due date, the calls started. When I told them my situation, they said they had no record, even though I got the name of the customer service agent and had recorded the phone call on my phone.
They then asked me if i could make more than the amount due "to stop the collection calls". When I said no, I could not because I had other responsibilities and had met my obligation, they literally suggested that I be late on my mortgage or preschool payments to pay them extra. Yeah, i'm really going to risk losing my house or having my child kicked out of school to pay you above and beyond my monthly payment.
This is my second go round with Kia Motors Finance and they were not this way back in 2015. Something has changed and I don't like it. I have half a mind to terminate my lease and go get a different car. They are ridiculous.
