Kickstarter is the biggest scam ever. It doesn't protect the people that put in the money, which is us, the backer.
All Kickstarter care about is getting more creators in to drive in more people to pay for stuff that's not even that great or to pay for nothing.
Once the project is funded and kickstarter gives like maybe 60% of it to the creators to create the products, they don't care and they release all responsibilities.
So BEWARE, if it's too good to be true, it's TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.
For example, I backed the dash cam with a 360 camera (No one has done this before, so now it seems it's too good to be true) the Vezo 360 by Arvizon. They promised the world that they would ship by September 2019, yet delays after delays after delays and then COVID-19 was the excuse and now they aren't even replying or updating the project. With no product and no refund, this whole project looks exactly like a scam.
I would rant on in the comments and my last few comments were of me exposing the CEO of Arvizon, Vivek Soni was the CTO of another company called TwoEyesTech which also had a campaign for a VR camera which was also "delayed" many months!
After posting that, Kickstarter deleted ALL my comments about those and took my commenting privileges away.
Talk about protecting the scammers.
After the projects I've backed so far, I will never back another project on kickstarter again.
If you no longer need your money, there are scammers from whom Kickstarter will not protect you!
Poor form from Kickscamstarter to encourage the scammers in not providing the finished products.
I won't back any more of this Kickscamstarter projects anymore.
Lesson learned.
All they are interested is 5% profits and stuff everyone who backed the failed or scammed projects.
Or kick starter 1st and last time both a joke beware
I invested in a project.
The Creator has failed to communicate since early August, now it is almost November and the project is 4 months late. Kickstarter basically takes the investors money and absolves itself of any and all responsibility to ensure the creator even talks to their investors let deliver on their promise. The project I backed has over 1200 comments - the vast majority are negative along the lines of "at least talk to us" or "where is my xxx", a few are "I have received it but it does not work".
I have rattled Kickstarters cage a few times asking them to do something - Kickstarter steadfastly refuse and just say read our Terms and Conditions.
In my opinion it is tantamount to fraud.
They take our money and run.
To make matters worse the Creator is seeking funding on another project. Despite their failures on the other one Kickstarter has allowed it.
HOW CAN THAT BE RIGHT.
LVL BSX is the worst with over $1M in backing and 18 months late.
No customer support from Kickstarter at all.
Waiting for last two projects to fulfill or disappear so I can finally delete this app and Kickstarter from my mind.
-I will NEVER BACK ANOTHER KICKSTART PROJECT AND WILL DISCOURAGE EVERYONE I KNOW FROM DOING SO. BEST TO WAIT TILL PROJECTS ARE ON THE MARKET, SO IF YOU RECEIVE A NON-FUNCTIONING ITEM, YOU AT LEAST GET YOUR MONEY BACK OR A REPLACEMENT
The first project I backed never gave any updates and was supposed to give the "reward" 1.5 years ago. To date, I have not heard anything from the creator.
I considered contacting Kickstarter, but didn't, as it states in its terms of use that the project creator is completely responsible for delivering results and Kickstarter will not be liable for any poor results. The backer also has the responsibility to chase the creator if no results are shown.
If you're lucky to get your "reward", it's not because of any miracle that Kickstarter has worked. The success can only be attributed to responsible and upright project creators.
