I was a courier and I was always thirty minute early for my shift, I dressed well, I was honest and I took my job seriously. She never liked me for some reason, but when she found out that I was gay, my lord, things got worse.
One time her fellow gay hater in the office named Pat, decided to sabotage my courier work by hiding some test kits and the paperwork LabCorp came with that I was supposed to take to an office at Southwest Medical Center in Dallas. That night Gloria Anderson placed the paperwork in my basket with the other paperwork to make it looked like that I had missed it. So, after she got a complaint from the medical office at the Southwest Medical Center in Dallas, she then took me to her office and accused me of being incompetent and stupid. After yelling at me for several minutes she then wrote me up and told me I was on thin ice. Later that day I learned from a friend of mine in the office named Jan, that she had overheard Gloria Anderson and Pat hatch the sabotage plan up in Gloria's office.
With her vulgar remarks about gay people and her sabotaging my good reputation, I decided to quit and get a better paying job that wasn't so stressful. Last I heard she was a branch manager at one of the LabCorp centers in Fort Worth. You have a horrible company LabCorp! And Gloria Anderson, what is wrong with you? People need the results of their medical tests ASAP.
I have been requested to go to Quest for my tests, as their info goes directly into files at my doctor(s) offices, but I liked one office of Labcorp. Now I think I will got to Quest because of this. Labcorp offices seem to be disappearing, as two in one of the areas I go to, are gone. Perhaps this is one of the reasons... The small charge should not be legit as there should be no charge at all for these routine tests with respect to my insurance. Labcorp never got back to me after I noted that my insurance thought the coding was incorrect. Looks like it will cost Labcorp thousands of dollars for lost business since they did all my labwork and will go elsewhere... (A shame there is only two labs which are across the country that do this work, Labcorp and Quest).
I received a Lab Request from my telehealth doctor for annual STI testing. I was told to:
"Please choose the Quest Diagnostics or LabCorp of your choice (you may walk in or schedule an appointment) and present the attached Lab Request to the be tested. Your lab may require you to print this Lab Request out."
Of course, I wasn't going to "walk-in" during a pandemic so I scheduled an appointment online with Labcorp. I received a printout and the instructions were very clear. Given a ton of negative reviews about Labcorp, I expected to run into issues.
After booking the Labcorp appointment online, I received a detailed follow-up email that confirmed how to prepare for my visit (including Covid precautions such as waiting in my car until I received a text to come in, scanning my Driver's License to speed up check in with LabCorp | Express, etc).
I arrived 15 minutes early as suggested and waited in my car until I received a text to come inside. I went inside scanned my DL and then was ushered in for a standard Urinalysis test which took less than 10 minutes. I was told I would receive a bill in the mail and results within 2-3 days (this does not include weekends).
To expedite results receipt, I signed up for their patient portal to manage my account and review results online. I think not doing this is why so many people have issues with LabCorp. It's clear that's how LabCorp are set up and without portal access, you're left waiting on your doctor to confirm or calling regularly. As a millennial, I'm tech savvy, so it's no problem and preferred.
So, I received my bill 4 days later (via the online portal). And the portal confirmed lab results would be ready the next business day (Monday). So, on the 6th day following my lab visit, I received my results online. This includes the weekend (2 days longer wait).
The bill was in the portal and I paid it online as well.
I'll say this, Labcorp is expensive. After researching other telehealth and lab options I will not use them again because a standard STI test (includes 3 tests) via Urinalysis cost $384 - out of pocket (no insurance).
This is steep considering you can use other telehealth platforms and get the same test for 1/2 the price with their preferred labs.
The visit was perfect, the online portal is also set up well. I waited 6 days for my results. I can't compare this to any other experience because prior I'd go through a doctor and wait for results from him/her. But overall, I like going direct with lab access and cutting out the middleman (a non-essential doctor's visit) for standard health screenings.
The experience was fine. No issues. The only reason I docked 2 stars was because of the cost. Nearly $400 for an STI urinalysis seems a bit absurd. Otherwise, I'd use them again if needed.
After reading all of the negative reviews I really do think LabCorp experiences vary by market and demographic area. I live in an affluent suburb and as such the level of service is probably indicative of that. So I'd recommend reading Google Reviews of the LabCorp location you choose before making an appointment.
I am satisfied with my local LabCorp office, the speed of testing, and friendly faces, but with the difficulty I am having with their financial and customer service departments, I doubt I will ever use them again.
Checking in takes forever compared to other labs.
Bathroom has no water/soap/paper to wash.
Place is a mess, not clean at all for a lab
But worth is time to get results. My doc said 2 days, and it's now over a week and he has not got results. My case is not life threatening but serious enough that the results should have been in in 48 hours.
I went back to Labcorp to check as nothing on the internet or by calling the various numbers was of any help, and after I complained that I called the numbers and only got menus etc., a young male nurse? Walked in and said he was going to help and tried to call the lab directly but then one female nurse walked in and scolded him saying it was not his job, and LabCorp were busy (they were not as it was noon and I was the only person in the wait room) so he said sorry.
Places like these don't deserve to exist.
