Do Not Waste Your Money on MakeYourOwnJeans
I ordered several pairs of pants (a few varying fabrics) over several months -- probably about 12 or 13 pairs. I am able to keep and wear four of them. Depending upon the problem, the rest had to either be given away or thrown away -- MakeYourOwnJeans were that bad. In the beginning, I made the effort to contact "Support." However, their response was always that the problem was mine (except in one instance where I was given a $10 voucher). The last three pairs of pants had insurmountable problems: On a pair of brown stretch jeans, the front and back panels that make up the right leg were uneven (back panel wider than the front panel) forcing the outside right leg hem toward the front of the leg -- this was also a problem with previously-ordered corduroy pants. The other two pairs of chinos were so altered from my submitted measurements -- the waist was 2" shorter, the seat and upper thigh were at least an inch too big, etc. -- as to render them unwearable. It is sad and very disappointing. India is too far away to have to deal with pants made of poorly cut material and the consequent equally poor end result, not to mention a lack of adherence to submitted measurements. As one reviewer wrote: You need to order a number of pairs before you get one correctly fitting pair.

Had to have my custom jeans altered when I received them
Let's see... I don't see how you can order these jeans, put them on, and then go about your life wearing what you receive. First of all, the length was not what I had ordered. I put them on and noticed that MakeYourOwnJeans were a good 4-in or more longer than what I had specified. In addition, I realized what needed to be tweaked in terms of all the measurements and I tweaked them all and submitted a remake. But then I took the jeans that were custom made and had the length altered to make them wearable to be able to even work in them. That makes me a bit suspicious that jeans that are custom made have to be altered. Let's see how the remake goes. I'm withholding judgment for now.

I decided to just do a remake even though the length was inaccurate. Let's see how the remake goes

I was a slave to VERY expensive jean brands for years...
I was a slave to VERY expensive jean brands for years because MakeYourOwnJeans "sort of" fit the best(relatively speaking).

I would go to Gap and find a pair that were long enough but when I brought em home and washed them IN COLD WATER and LINE dried them (and who wants to do all that to their jeans?) they always shrunk in the length.
PLUS, they never really fit MY body properly.

I love the low-cut jeans but I was so sick of my butt crack showing in low rise jeans.

Desperate for a better fit, I stumbled upon this site: Makeyourownjeans.com, and have been awed and amazed ever since. I am very particular about my jeans and the fit, and MYOJ got them right!

With Makeyourownjeans.com I can get the low rise in the front and make the back rise high enough to cover the "area"!

I ordered a pair of Body Hugger Stretch Jeans.(just over 2 weeks from order to delivery). The workmanship is very high quality and the fabric is wonderful.

My ass looks damn hot and ultra sexy, they feel great and look really hot.
These are the best fitting jeans I've ever owned!

Now when I put on my favorite pair of Gap Jeans they don't even feel good. My Seven jeans are the same way. They bind or ride and just don't feel like my Makeyourownjeans.com jeans do.

I can't believe it! $49 for a pair of jeans that are CUSTOM MADE!

I paid $200 for Seven jeans because of the length and they don't even fit good! NEVER AGAIN!
Ladies! Believe me! You CAN get the low rise and also have BUTT CRACK coverage! Get your jeans here! YOU will LOVE THEM!

I even got my very tall boyfriend a pair that he raves about because they actually fit, and he is pickier than me!

Will not refund/return your jeans if they are the wrong size.
If you saw many of the other reviews MakeYourOwnJeans will give you the run around about returning the wrong sized item. Tell you that you are measuring wrong when you're not, etc. My jeans arrived and they are so small that I literally cannot even pull them all the way up. They told me the jeans were made to my measurements and even added a half inch on the thighs. But I showed them with a measuring tape in the exact spot they show you to measure that the thighs are in fact two inches smaller that I sent it. In addition, the hips/seat are 4 or 5 inches smaller. Again, they told me I measured wrong. I sent them all the pictures of the measurements and they are saying I did them wrong which I did not. I used a pair of jeans that fit me really well as the control and the measurements of the jeans they sent me are far smaller. They will not return or refund them. I had my 14 year old son try them on. I think they will fit him in about 4 or 5 months. We are the same height at 5'9" he is 140 lbs. and I am 215 lbs. Obviously no where near my size.

Do not buy from this company. They are in India and just want your money.

Please beware!
I purchased a custom suit several years ago from makeyourownjeans.com and was very pleased with the way the suit fit and looked. My fiancee suggested that I purchase another suit on her for father's day. Customer service was great during the process and up until the suit arrived. When I recieved the suit, boy was I disappointed. The problem wasn't the look, but the fit. Everything about this suit was off. The pants were too long as well as to tight in the seat. The vest was to tight at the hips. The coat was to tight at the chest and at the waist. Overall it seemed as if every measurement was an inch off. After contacting them about the issues with the suit, I was directed to supply photos of the problem areas of the suit, which I did. Then silence. Nothing. MakeYourOwnJeans quit responding to my emails. If you value your money, then I suggest you steer clear of this sham of a company. I echo what another customer said. These guys survive off new customers and can care less about standing behind their products. This is bad for the consumer because they know that once you spend your money and are not satisfied with the product, there is nothing you can do. My suggestion is that if you desire custom made clothing, find someone that guarantees fitment and has the reputation to make it right if you are not satisfied. Beware of these clowns unless you like parting with your money

These guys are hit or miss
These guys are hit or miss. You may get a good cut and they'll fit perfect. But you may also get a pair that is cut completely wrong. This particular "company," and I use that term loosely, does not have a phone line for support. MakeYourOwnJeans are email-only. So guess what that means? If there is any issue at all with your order, you're pretty much stuck with it.

I had a pair of jeans come back that was 2" too long, and yet the checking report stated that someone had checked it to be the correct size. Instead of apologizing and offering to help, the customer rep. Went on to tell me that these particular jeans were cut longer to allow for shrinkage. So I said, why weren't the other ones left at length for shrinkage and why did the checking report say it verified at the correct length?

Well, after that its been crickets so Im stuck with a pair of jeans that don't fit. Ask yourself, is lack of customer support worth the risk to have a pair of jeans that may or may not fit?

I've purchased my last pair from them and will be reporting them to the BBB and ITC. Good luck if you choose to take the risk.

Nothing that you should spend your money and time for
Nothing that you should spend your money and time for

There three main points to consider any custom manufacturing which are true for MakeYourOwnJeans too.

1. What you see is NOT what you get
2. Any small error in measurement leads to huge disappointment
3. It is always more expensive than to buy a-ready-for-use product

The fabrics itself does not look and feel as good as you can imagine; just average jeans material like that you find at Walmart. If you are not professional sewer, you'd better stop to try to measure yourself. Even though you provide them with correct measure, MakeYourOwnJeans can make it very different. Yes, they are ready to fix any mistake; however, it takes another few weeks, and of course, you should pay again shipping and customs fees. After a couple such 'back-and-forth' tries you simply get something like this in the picture.

If you read this review because of hesitation, your guts don't fool you. Is it worth trying? Obviously not. Just go to the closest store (or even online where you know for sure your usual size) and buy new Diesel, for example.

Your ordering/paying website is very confusing!
Your ordering/paying website is very confusing! The dashboard is lacking tabs that would make the process easier to follow. I bought 4 - $75 gift certificates December 16,2019. I left them in my name as I did not want delivery of an email to the recipients before Christmas. Your receipt gave a 6 digit code but NO instructions on how/where to use it! Your Purchase the Gift was fairly easy, your ordering fairly easy but getting to the use of gift should not be so complex/convoluted. In addition, having to use Pay Pal is also a problem why no option to just use credit/debit card. Also the receipt at purchase said shipping was free but I ended having to pay shipping just wanted to be done here! My other giftees have not used their gifts yet either, no wonder. All I can say is the jeans NEED to be amazing after all this trouble.

After reading the reviews for makeyourownjeans.com...
After reading the reviews for makeyourownjeans.com I was understandably skeptical. When I started reading their "about" section and discovered that MakeYourOwnJeans were based out of India, I was even more leery of ordering. That being said, they had several styles of jackets for really good prices, and I am notoriously hard to fit. Also, being leather worker myself I figured that I could fix anything they messed up.

I went ahead and took my measurements according to the instructions, and I did leave about an inch extra on all of the measurements. It took about a month for my jacket to go from "production" to "shipped", once it was shipped though, it only took about 4 days to get here. When it arrived I was almost afraid to look at it. It was beautiful. The leather was so soft, and dyed wonderfully, nice and strong with no runs and no flaws. Believe me, I went over this jacket with a fine toothed comb to find any and all flaws. There were no crooked seams, everything was stitched nice and tight and all of the zippers were high quality and installed properly, as were the snaps and fittings. I tried it on, and it fit like a glove, absolutely perfect with no break in period.

In short, I cannot say enough good things about my experience with this company. I can't speak to the quality of their jeans, but as I am hard to fit in that department too, I will be ordering some of those shortly. My only complaint is the lack of communication from the company, it would have been nice to be updated more regularly as it took so long for the product to be manufactured. Anyone considering purchasing a jacket from them should really consider disregarding the negative reviews, I certainly wasn't disappointed!

CAVEAT EMPTOR!
CAVEAT EMPTOR! After a first order for three pairs of custom lightweight jeans, (a fabric almost impossible to find in retail stores), I was impressed enough with the fit and the workmanship to order some more jeans in more regular denim. Disaster! None of them fitted. MakeYourOwnJeans had wildly different leg lengths, waist sizes, (and all the rivets were oversized). Then began my e-mail saga with the generic 'Pearl" who accused me of not measuring properly, demanded I return them (at a hefty self cost) then said to throw them away, and order anew with a paltry 10% discount.
All the while stating that they were never wrong, despite photographic evidence
To the contrary. Appeals to their business sense went nowhere. I am down a couple
Hundred bucks and now, on reading the majority of these reviews ( I wish I had done so first) I see I am in good company. So AVOID this lousy set-up.

Reputaion

Not the most professional company.
I ordered a jacket, it came promptly, but the sleeves were too tight for me to bend my arms, an obvious flaw in the manufacturing. MakeYourOwnJeans refused a return, I would have to buy a new jacket!
They state on their web site that returns and alterations are possible, but they are not telling the truth. A flat refusal is what you will get. They are clearly breaking the distance selling regulations act. I question both their morality and legality.
If you want a better product and service, try their competitor, custom jeans india, they are a more honest business. I have good experience with them. Even when they got the measurements wrong one time, they re made a new pair free of charge. I didn't need to return to original pair, no expense for me. The quality of their work is outstanding.
Why did I try makeyourownjeans? I won't make that mistake again.
----------
Update, after receiving a flat refusal to rectify things from a customer service person, Paul, I made my objections to his dismissal clear.
This second email from me was read by a different person, Anna, who has offered to make the alterations on the jacket.
Seems that the company's handling of customers is dependant on who looks at the incoming mail. Some of their employees are hard line and inflexible, but others are more understanding and sensible.
I await the outcome.
----------
I would point out that I had also ordered a pair of jeans, despite me providing thorough measurements, as per their order form, I don't think they managed to match a single measurement accurately.
Waist, length, leg width, all wrong.
The colour was very different from the catalogue as well. I don't have the stamina to dispute these jeans as well as the jacket, so the jeans will be going to a charity shop.
On another note, Paypal state that they offer a buyer protection scheme, they don't. Their terms rule out any resolution in the buyers favour. Be aware of this.

I was skeptical that this experience would turn out...
I was skeptical that this experience would turn out well for me. I
Decided to take a risk and order two pairs of jeans. I wanted a very
Specific fit. I wanted it to be tapered and skinny, but not skin tight.

I have just received the jeans and I am very impressed with their fit
And quality. The clothing speaks for itself, fantastic and fits perfectly.

I ordered some very heavy black jeans and some dark blue
Japanese denim jeans. The material quality is quite good - soft but
Very heavy, draping well.

The japanese denim has a very attractive pattern from the weave,
Resembling heavy linen.

MakeYourOwnJeans made them exactly to the measurements I provided and the
Workmanship is exceptionally good. I got another pair from one of
Their competitors and they were awful and expensive. I'll never go
Back to them.

For around fifty USD a pair, you really can't go wrong. The fit is far
Better than anything I would be likely to find in a store, and the ability to customize is wonderful as well.

I always had trouble with off the shelf jeans in terms of fit from the
Waist to the knees as I love a tight body hugging fit. Only
Makeyourownjeans can achieve that degree of satisfaction.

Extremely happy!
Previously I'd always buy off-the-rack jeans at my local big-and-tall store, but MakeYourOwnJeans were always a poor fit, either too long or too tight around the leg. MakeYourOwnJeans allowed me to fully customise the measurements and style and I am extremely happy with the fit and quality. No need to turn up the cuffs, and plenty of room to move. The price was cheaper than what I'd normally pay at a store, even with shipping cost (which were also pretty cheap considering I live in NZ). There was an extra charge for my plus-size measurements, but it was still perfectly reasonable. Getting plus-sized bespoke custom-made clothing locally is not cheap, so overall I was very happy with their prices. I made a mistake with one of my measurements when I submitted my purchase, but after realising my mistake the next day, I simply contacted MakeYourOwnJeans via their website with my order number, and they promptly changed it with zero fuss. All I can say is the onus is on the customer to doubly sure you've got your measurements correct if you want a good fit

I was a skeptic (thought the testimonials are probably all made up) but now I'm not.
I received my second pair of jeans a few weeks ago but wanted to thoroughly test drive them before commenting.

As with the first pair the time between ordering and delivery was very fast and I was kept fully appraised of progress at all times. When MakeYourOwnJeans arrived they fit like a glove and they have continued to maintain their fit and shape throughout the entire time worn and even after washing they slipped on perfectly.

The jeans matched the measurements sent exactly - which on other types of clothes from other suppliers has definitely not been the case.
The quality of material is excellent.

They took about two weeks to make (after they verified that I had goofed on the flare leg measurement and I remeasured--knowledgeable people and amazing service!) and then five days to my door.
These jeans are made with pure passion for quality, excellence, and care.

As far as I've seen, other custom jeans sites do not offer nearly as much flexibility, especially to men.

I will be getting all of my jeans from makeyourownjeans.com from now on.

To all inquisitive customers. DON'T HESITATE dealing with this company. I have purchased quite a few pairs of jeans and all I can say is that they are of exceptional quality and absolutely perfect in every way. They communicate with their customers in an absolutely incredible manner. I will continue to shop with them and would highly recommend them to anyone...

Gobsmacked
Ordered a blazer style leather jacket oh probably beginning of March, it was only after reading some reviews that I got a huge dose of buyers remorse and realised I'd just blown about £120 on a supposedly custom item.
9.00 this morning UPS at the door wanting £19 plus change, missus said wtf is that, I'm like dunno, was my jacket.
Gobsmacked cos it fits perfectly. Someone obv got an accurate tape measure. Goes really well with black slim fit Armani Jean's, Rockport ankle boots and a hard rock t shirt. Look like a proper prog rock bloke lol
Dont know what happened with the bad experiences, someone along the line got them massively wrong. Hey, I got 1/2 a wardrobe of crazy errors, almost gave buying clothes online, but well done is all I can say.
Many thanks

Cargo Jeans
ON or about 3/18/21, I sent a complaint as identified in the paragraph below. I have yet to here from you regarding the complaint

On 3/16/21, the same day that I received your email re the size of the pants I sent a response. Also on the same day, 3/16/21, I received a pair of grey Jeans, but MakeYourOwnJeans were not the Cargo pants that I ordered. Even your email of 3/16/21, referred to the order as "14 Pocket Cotton Cargo Pants". As I received them on the same day that you sent your sent to email to me, I know the pants received were not in response to your question nor reflective of my answer to your question.

I now have additional questions. How come you have not responded to my email of 3/16/21? And, when will I get the Cargo jeans that I ordered?

In then past I have ordered several pair of pants from you. As a returning customer I would expect that Make Your Own Jeans would be more responsive.

Will you respond to this complaint?

Make Your Own Jeans has failed to respond to the original complaint.

Avoid like the plague
This company took $130 from me to sew a pair of trousers. MakeYourOwnJeans are located in India. If you order from them the purchase is not covered by Paypal protection because "custom orders" fall outside of their protection so whatever you do, don't buy from them. My pants arrived without belt loops. They claimed that was how I ordered them, which is absolutely incorrect. They then offered to fix it if I pay $20 for return shipment. The assured me in writing that the additional $20 would cover shipping back both ways. Once they had my additional money they demanded that I ship it to a US address at my cost, essentially changing the terms of the deal after I paid. Now I am out $150 for pants I can't use. I no longer trust to return the item, because once they have the pants they will hold me up for more money.

My entire life, I have had a hard time finding jeans...
My entire life, I have had a hard time finding jeans that just fit! I have a shorter torso and longer legs, and everything I found in stores didn't work.

From designer jeans to super market jeans-nothing I found was long enough or fit well enough.

Then, using a search engine, I found makeyourownjeans.com and literally everything changed.

Waiting for my personal jeans to arrive was excruciating but well worth the wait.

My jeans finally fit! I can dress my jeans up or down, wear heels with them, and be comfortable in them without looking like I have high-waters on.

Don't be afraid to make your own jeans - MakeYourOwnJeans are for YOU and they fit like a glove and actually appear slimming because you're not shoving yourself into jeans that don't fir, or being swallowed in jeans too big.

I have bought a suit, shirt and two pairs of jeans...
I have bought a suit, shirt and two pairs of jeans so far. I have found the quality and workmanship to be very good. However when you go to your local tailor, MakeYourOwnJeans are experts they know how to measure you, when you measure yourself its easy to get it wrong----the website even says don't buy the most expensive suit first time out, buy a cheap one to check measurements.

The first pair of jeans I was really happy with the 6oz denim(which brand jeans don't seem to offer), the length was perfect, but too tight around the seat, though wearable. For the second pair I just added an inch on the seat knees and thigh, now I have my perfect jeans measurement sorted.

When I got the suit the pants were perfect, but the jacket sleeves were too short --- but it was completely my fault. When I was putting in my measurements they suggested a sleeve length, but I measured it myself and got it wrong----they were right.

I notice one reviewer said the colour of fabric did not match the colour on the website. That will happen sometimes, I don't think anything can be done about it, but you can buy fabric swatches for the suits and leathers.

The shirt I bought was good size wise and quality, but it did not quite match the picture, but its fine, I wear it---sometimes that's just the way it is with photos.

Overall I thoroughly recommend these guys, but only buy one of each thing first time round-----two people can measure the same thing and get different measurements. Also the measurements you use for brand jeans, or even on another website may be different to this website.

You are screwed if you received wrong size
Before you make your purchase consider some facts below about this company. I have made 3 purchases in the past year and half:

#1. On their website you can find a statement saying if the piece of clothing shipped to you did not fit, MakeYourOwnJeans can offer to make a new one. This is a lie. Their Customer Service is nonexistent and will reject your claim 100% of the time. They will tell you that based on their measurement "report", they are 100% correct and you are 100% wrong and therefore go #@($* yourself. Even if you submit to them photos of wrong size, they will still refuse to agree with you. Basically a bunch of people paid to say "no" to you.

#2 If your order came with perfect fit, lucky you, you had a good tailor, but don't expect it to be consistent if you plan to continue buying from them.

#3 The size of my last pair of jeans ordered a month ago came totally off with the fact that I gave them FIX measurements (FIX=exact measurement of the cloth without including stretch). On Average the rise, waist, thigh measurement were all off by more than 1 inch, the back rise was off by 2 inches.

#4 There will be no refund or exchange.

#5 Also good luck if you dispute the purchase through Paypal because more than likely Paypal will rule in their favor because this company has put in some kind of statement saying by purchasing from website, the customers have agreed to no refund and no exchange. This was my real experience through an actual dispute with them
