This is the first place I go for my gaming essentials. I have, over the years, been obsessed with different tabletop games (X-Wing Miniatures, Star Wars Armada, Eldritch Horror, Lord of the Ring LCG) and I have consistently relied on Miniature Market for its low prices to keep me out of the poorhouse.
I have also stumbled across numerous solo, co-op and roll 'n' write games in the 'new release' list from small publishers that have been welcome additions to gaming night.
I also once spent a year cleaning out Miniature Market's leftover stock of Zombicide extras that I will probably never use, but I love seeing littering my shelf like I'm one of those trash grandmas from Labyrinth.
Purchased on sale with customer hold option while I was out of town. It was very easy to release the customer hold when I was ready for it to be shipped to me. Packing was great and tracking was provided. I have been a customer for 10 years and can attest to consistently great packing and shipping of my items. I have literally spent more than $10,000 with miniature market and always check their website 1st before checking anyone else. They offer outstanding flexibility for shipping, customer holds, pre-orders and typically the best prices on the internet. In addition to product restock notifications and annual and regular sale events. Literally cannot say enough good things. No I have not been payed to say these to things and I don’t work for the company. This is an honest detailed review of how great of a retailer miniature market is.
Miniature Market is the best source for gaming materials. Board games to miniature figures, they have everything. MM is my go-to for games. I especially like that they review and rate games. I love that they send me emails making recommendations for upcoming games. I am fortunate that I live near the retail locations, so I can check in with actual people and ask questions about gameplay. Ordering online is very simple, the entire ordering experience is easy, and the customer service is excellent. I order regularly. One of my orders was confirmed, but I did not get a confirmation of shipping. I emailed customer service and within that working day, I was told that the order was hung up for some accounting reason. It was fixed, the order was released, the order was prioritized for ship and I got my order the next day. Very fast and efficient order resolution with complete transparency. Well Done!
I waited a long time after making my order and getting the initial email confirmation from miniature market. In the email, I was told I would get an updated tracking number from the carrier, which never arrived. After waiting several weeks, I contacted support, and they had me wait a few more weeks (I think overall I waited almost two months) and then the order was cancelled and I was refunded (was offered that they resend the minis, but many were no longer in stock, so that didn't help).
I also contacted the carrier again afterwards, but they informed me they never got the item from Miniature market.
All in all, I didn't lose out on my money, but wasted 2 months waiting for Items I wanted and I'm still not sure who dropped the ball and I lost out on the sale and minis I wanted due to this.
The card sleeves fit standard cards. They have the Ascension Tactics logo on the semitransparent back for the sleeve. There are about 340 cards in Ascension Tactics; about 41 of the cards they are double sided with different stats. Some of the cards a we single sided with art on the back to indicate their deck. The short of it is, if you want to sleeve all of the cards, get transparent sleeves. The game is solid, but all the components were half-hearted. The board has two sides; the play-mat does not. A lot of people have complained about the minis being broken upon arrival, and the card sleeves at incomparable to be used with ALL the cards. If you want some AT sleeve-a for the cards that say AT, they're great. I ended up sleeving 299 of the cards with the AT sleeves, but I sleeved the remainder with clear sleeves.
Short version: My go-to place to buy new as well as tough to find games!
Slightly longer version: I have been able to complete multiple collections thanks to the awesome stock and friendly service from MM. You actually feel like you are shopping at a store full of people (staff) who love and understand the hobby. Not to mention, their specials! I have gotten so many items here for amazing deals.
Games usually arrive earlier than the programmed delivery date and I have NEVER had a damaged or missing component! Items are carefully packaged and sent on time, every time.
I'm looking forward to getting my copy of Frostpunk here on MM!
Always a good experience at Miniature Market. So fortunate to live near their Cave Springs location. I love stopping by while in between work appointments. Their inventory is always updated and I find something new each visit. Great selection of miniature paint supplies. Tons of board games. Lots of gaming tables for open play. The staff know the games they sell and are super friendly. They are helpful and quick to assist finding specific games in the store. The ding and dent discount section is amazing. It’s my always my first stop and I rarely leave without buying something. I especially like a few of the middle isle shelves with $20 and under games. Quick games that are great fillers. Wide selection. All your RPG needs and more. Plethora of dice, minis, books, supplies etc. definitely a destination location. The rewards program is cool too. It’s can take a while to build up points but amazing they offer it at all. Pretty amazing taking a few dollars off already low pricing. Their prices are rarely beat on Amazon or other retailers. Price is always well below MSRP. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Trails of Tucana offers quite a bit for a small, inexpensive package. The name comes from the trails you are making throughout the island of Tucana, connecting various coastal cities to each other, as well as connecting those cities to a variety of animals and objects scattered over the island. As a "flip 'n' write" game," each turn two cards of various terrain types are flipped over, and you write a new section of trail between those adjacent terrain types on your player map.
While you are only doing one simple thing on your turn, connecting two adjacent hexagons, you likely have a few places to make that connection, which could either help you with a short-term goal or a long-term goal, depending on what cards are flipped over later in the round. Thus, the game gives you both tactical and strategic challenges, something for just about every type of board gamer. It is both immediately accessible for younger players, as well as "crunchy" for more experienced players who like to plan ahead.
The game also features two different-sized maps, one for a shorter two-round game and another for a longer three-round game. Each map requires a different approach to playing the game, either for the many immediate bonuses when connecting various objects on the map to the coastal cities or the end-game scoring of connecting the cities to each other.
Adding to these varieties of game-play experiences, Trails of Tucana comes with optional scoring bonus cards and a variable map set-up (to a small degree - the main features of the maps are pre-printed) for where the to-be-connected cities are located on your map. You will not get tired of playing this game anytime soon. My ten-year-old son loves it; my wife loves it; our fellow gamer friends love it. This is a rare game for just about anyone: it's fast, easy to grasp, and each game will be different.
You guys offer good prices and have amazing material. I´m starting to buy more and more from you, there are some things I´m waiting to be in stock again.
This might not be part of an actual review but could be helpful (I think):
Compared to for example Gamenerdz, when it comes to shipping, I don´t have to buy as much as $99 to get free shipping, with them, I only have to pay $75 and that gets me free shipping, don´t know, might be a thing to consider, sometimes I decided to buy on Gamenerdz just because that single aspect where I don´t have to buy more than $75 for free shipping. Gamenerdz also has the amazing NerdzDay which maybe you could try and do something similar, after all, you both have similar prices.
Great prices, but service leaves a bit to be desired, especially in regards to promptness of orders being delivered. Maybe i'm spoiled by every other retailer, but the lag between "order place" and "order shipped" is often a few buisiness days which is surprising. When i've called about this in the past, i always get a "oh your order is going out today" response, and my order does ship after I call. I'm not sure if it really has been a recurring coincidence or I'm just being lied to. Sometimes the boxes show up damaged, one of my recent orders the box my items came in literally had a 3inch by four inch chunk missing from it. This could be an issue in shipping, but again, this hasn't happened when i've ordered from other places. The products show up in good condition though, so i'm really unclear what's happening there.
Miniature Market has been my go-to place for games for several years now. For me, the only reason I would not get a game or game accessory from Minature Market is if they don't have the item. I pre-ordered this game in May 2021 and due to the manufacturing having delays I did not get it until June 2022. Over that 13 months, Miniature Market always kept me updated on the status of the order.
Once the order was shipped I was sent an e-mail (as I am with all orders) with a tracking number so I can see the approximate time the item will arrive. I also love the shipping options I am given when I place an order.
I look forward to continued shopping at Miniature Market for games and any gaming items I may want or need.
Though this particular purchase was for a gift card, we had to do that so that we could split a large purchase up between a pre-paid visa and our debit card (as suggested by the cstumer support rep).
I currently live in Philadelphia so most of my Miniature Market purchases have been online, although I have been able to make it to the brick-and-mortar stores a couple times. The customer service both in-store and on the phone is fantastic. They always have the answer we need or a great recommendation. I know I drove the employees crazy by asking all sorts of questions one of the times I was in the store, but they happily gave recommendations and broke down several games for me and my partner. The prices are also unbeatable!!
Excellent expansion. Pretty much doubles the cards, doubles the playable characters, almost doubles the ships, and adds more contacts. If you like Outer Rim, this is a must have and I will never play the base game without expansion content. Besides more of the same, there are two new modules that CAN add, but don’t have to in order to enjoy the additional content. Favors is not my cup of tea, but Ambitions is a great Mod, adding purpose to your character for how you should gain fame. Also adds one last fear to accomplish once you get to the max fame. The only negative thing is that there are not many ambitions to choose from. I sincerely hope they come out with more and streamline it for bounty Hunter characters and adventurers/smugglers. A very minor complaint. All in all, highly highly recommended if you like outer rim in the least bit.
When I started collecting D&D miniatures for my group of friends, I usually went to a smaller game store that had some of the newest miniatures in the market or go to amazon usually at a scalper level price for some of the older series of miniatures. I considered stopping collecting at some point due to the lack of available minis across numerous websites. It got to the point where I was considering doing one final large purchase to end the collection with the release of the Fizban's treasury of dragons booster set, which after doing some looking around to make the purchase I came across this website. To me, this website revived the idea of continuing collecting because of the large amount of older, high-quality miniatures at great price points. After receiving my first two packages from the website I have been very impressed by their being nothing damaged and the time it took to receive everything. Overall I am very thankful to see a business like this thrive and continue to offer great products for anyone playing these types of games over the years. Can't wait to make more purchases in the future.
Miniature Market has really impressed me. I was worried about going into purchasing through Miniature Market for the first time. I had waited a long time for my purchase order because I included a pre-order figure. DO NOT DO THAT! If you want to buy preorder figures, purchase them separately because it will put your order on hold until the figure is ready. I recommend buying your figures for preorder separately.
On the other hand, once I reached out to them, they were extremely helpful. Almost everyone on the entire customer service team was supportive in getting me my order. They did such a great job in responding and clarifying my situation. I really owe it all to them, and I am happy to say I will be purchasing again shortly!
The product: As a huge fan of Wyrd's stuff I was super excited to get this box as a gateway into The Other Side, and boy did this deliver. I had heard a few horror stories of the first wave of pre-assembled plastics but this box has a much improved, darker plastic that turned out great. Comes with tokens, cards, and everything else you need to start playing at a great price.
The service: While this product's release did get pushed back numerous times I didn't consider that to be the fault of Wyrd or Miniature Market, just the global distribution issues happening at the time. Once it did ship out it was very fast (even though I'm out of country) and arrived in good condition.
10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to get into ToS
The items (Harengon Rogues) were on back order but I was in no hurry to receive them. As soon as I saw the option to place a pre-order I jumped at the opportunity because I love rabbits and painting minis. What better to combine my two favorite things than these adorable little Harengon creatures?! I’m a very dedicated painter - usually taking hours on each piece - so when these finally arrived I was very excited to see how delicate and intricate the details are. These are small little guys, with a lot of detail, and I cannot wait to jump into painting them. I’m super pleased with my purchase from the communications with Miniature Market to the product itself. The price was fair, too! I will definitely be purchasing more minis in the future.
I rate them a 5 because: their inventory and prices are ultra competitive within the mix of other big online game sellers; the ability to purchase individual items and hold them until I’ve surpassed the shipping total is an excellent feature (yes, I know others do this also, but not everybody does); I find their website easy to navigate, and this is especially true and important to me of their wishlist; and last but definitely not least- anytime I have emailed the staff with a question or comment, I have not only received a professional yet personable response within less than 24hrs, but actually it is more likely someone will reply back to me that same day, and sometimes even within the hour, WOW! Bonus Star!
Shipped in a timely manner, arrived fast (but totally understand Covid shipping times are beyond their control and could vary). The paints (I got a lot) came in a plastic bag inside the box. Box well bubble wrapped.
Only complaint is most paints were screw caps, came loose and some bottles dried shut but most bottles just left product inside their own cap. Compared to my paint order from GameNerdz it's was a little disappointing and messy.. Like when I thought paint was thicker but it was clogged from drying shut, shot out and went EVERYWHERE. The pigment came out if the carpet and off the table but took to the pillow and blanket I had in the area. Not the end of the world it wasn't my favorite set, valuable lesson learned there lol. Don't open or test paints around fabrics you love. My GameNerdz order the paints came in a little box inside to keep them upright in the package and outer shipping box itself was labeled this side up. After being spoiled by them going above and beyond and the big jumbled bag of paints from Miniature Market, I'd buy paints here if my local store doesn't have it, and GameNerdz doesn't have it but it's not my go-to. They do have a great selection of reaper paints here though.
Leaving 5 stars, they didn't necessarily do anything wrong, just hard to compete with GameNerdz they have the best shipment quality. Everything else on my order was perfect.
To be completely honest... My experience thus far with Miniature Market has been... FANTASTIC!
I was honestly a lil' nervous about ordering from MM (Miniature Market) at first but once my order arrived those worries quickly dissipated. I was quite literally telling people to look at how MM packaged my order! My MM order of $2-ish trading card deck boxes had better shipment packaging than COMPUTER parts that I've purchased from Amazon... The only downside to the order was that a couple of the rarer cards from a couple of the MTG (Magic the Gathering) products that I purchased from MM arrived damaged, the quality of MTG products has increasing become hit and miss. That aside, I'll be making further purchases from Miniature Market for sure!
