I have been shopping at Optimum Health stores for years now. They have lots of staff who are very knowledgeable and always willing to help. Their inventory levels are unmatched as they often carry items that other stores don't have. I also have never found anything there that was even close to the expiry date. Just purchased some mushroom coffee there that I was surprised they stocked. The price was also very reasonable plus I got $5 off with my bonus points.
I've been shopping at Optimum Health since it first opened at the 109 Street location, in a little corner of Debaji's Produce. I find the current / new staff hired during COVID are very knowledgeable and helpful. They are such a valuable resource when you are dealing with health issues, and trying to avoid all the harmful side-effects of conventional drugs that your GP is quick to prescribe. They give you other options.
Optimum Health is my go to place for supplements and health products. I find the staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable. If they don’t have a product in store and they have it in another store they will bring it to my home store the next day!! Superior service is very important these days and Optimum Health exceeds!!
I had been shopping here for the past 2 years. Never had an issue until I brought two dear friends to help me.
One friend an been older and of Indigenous ethnicities, who is a very successful social worker just fyi. The manager herself had accused the older friend of stealing a small steel tea strainer. It had not come to my attention until after I made a very large purchase.
There was a conversation going on to which I stepped in to listen an hear the manager become very defensive and dismissive; when the other friend asked why she had been assumed to have stolen the strainer.
The managers staff had all ran away an said they did not want to be involved in the situation. The manager had been asked if the womans ethnicity had been the reason for accusations to which she squeaked out a no.
I myself spoke and said that I did not agree with how the manager spoke to and treated the friends I had brought into the store. No apology came from the manager as to her poor choice in words and treatment of human beings especially when I had been a loyal customer for the last 2 years.
Therefore I had said I would not be coming back and will take my business elsewhere. To which I went to Simply Health and was met with an incredibly friendly and helpful woman who went out of her way to help me find what was needed on my to get list.
Optimum Health was my first and favorite place to go until the day the manager had shown her true colors which are not very pretty.
If there was a choice for no stars I would give absolutely none for the poor treatment of what WAS one of your best customers.
Received the phone in order, complete and in order. Only issue is the new delivery system using Canada Post. I placed the order on Tuesday and received it late in the day on following Monday…almost a week later. In the future I’ll continue to shop in your store to avoid the long wait for delivery, unless I’m unable too, as happened last week. The delivery system you had before switching to Canada Post was fantastic! Too bad you had to switch.
This will not deter me from shopping at your store since you have great products and knowledgeable, helpful, friendly staff.
I've been going to your store for 22 years, I think that speaks for itself! I started out at the small store in Oliver Square--it was packed up to the ceiling! I love the beautiful, spacious store you have now. And I always appreciate that everyone there is so helpful and kind and knowledgeable. The best to all you lovely souls for the NEXT 22 years!!
Optimum Health Oliver is a better store for customer service, as compared to the less helpful South side Edmonton store. The staff at Oliver store is much more helpful and friendly than the staff at Edmonton South store. This 2 star rating is for the South Edmonton store.
To summarize, I have shopped many times at South store for convenience sake, but will no longer shop there, mainly reasons due to some of the staff being less than helpful and less than friendly. Not all staff, but the customer service from one of the staff there (not all staff) in my experience over time, has caused me to make this decision to no longer shop at that store. I will therefore shop at the Oliver store from now on.
as is always the case your staff are knowledgeable and friendly. my experience was great and that's part of the reason I always come back. the selection of products is large and varied. I do find the prices on the higher end of the spectrum when compared to other similar stores. that is offset with the discount, but the other stores have their own discounts as well. Perhaps an addditional significant discount (20% or so) coupon every Christmas/birthday would encourage more loyalty?
I recently ordered the Esker Beauty Plane. Although I've not yet tried the product yet, the service from Optimum Health and Kolya was excellent. I was having trouble placing the order due to the fact at the time the product wasn't in stock. I emailed the company and immediately received a prompt and helpful response from Danielle. She was more than willing to assist with the order.
I have never been disappointed with my dealings at Optimum Health. So many have willingly helped me find what I'm looking for and even to explain products so I can choose which one I want. Last trip was no different. Thanks to the lady who so kindly helped me so much. The service was not just "Very Good" but was "Excellent".
Every staff member here really love their work and strive to be as helpful and knowledgeable as possible, which is rare in most stores these days. I recommend this store to everyone of my friends and am always sharing the knowledge I have gained from the staff here! Love my new makeup as well! Keep up the great work!
Optimum Health is such a great resource for our city. I love going to see what's new, especially in the area of "Clean/Green" products for the home. What sets this business apart, is the staff (and superb products). They are so knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy at all. I'm hoping to see more "Going to Market" rattan baskets again there someday. The plain ones with leather handles are beautiful classics.
I first shopped at Optimum Health two and a half years ago while visiting a friend in Edmonton. I was so impressed with your store and very knowledgeable staff and of course your products. I live in BC but have consistently ordered from you since then. I love your products; they are top quality. I also love the incredibly short amount of time between placing an order and its arrival- it amazes me every time!
I will continue to buy from you because I am so satisfied on every level! The fact that you are a family owned business makes me very happy too.

Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and willing to expend themselves to find the product best suited to the customer.
I would especially like to thank Karen at the 104ave location in Edmonton. She was very helpful & accomodating when filling our phone-in order for us. She made several trips to check which products were in stock & to recommend others.
I've shopped at your store for many, many years, spent thousands of dollars each year for myself, my family and others. Now I find your supplements to be outrageously expensive and I can get most or all online.
Also the current staff is not knowledgeable about supplements and their effective applications. Knowledge and service was the main reason I shopped there and the main reason a physical store should exist these days. The owner is super knowledgeable and super helpful, but for many years mostly unavailable. At least I don't know when he's available to speak with, and when I stop in, he doesn't appear to be around. Last time I was there at the south side store I was pleasantly surprised he greeted me and answered my questions. If I knew when he was going to be there, even if it would be once or twice a month, I'd likely stop in then, in order to understand the products better and taken together.
Over the years, MDs and specialist doctors haven't been able to help my family much with some serious medical issues. So I feel I've been on my own to try to understand how some supplements and protocols might help or not. Now we just don't have the financial luxury to try these without some credible research backing them up. Thanks.
I was recently in to purchase a liver support supplement. The staff member was exceptional with her product knowledge. I actually told many friends about my experience and meant to phone in a review. The service and knowledge was really above and beyond. She was very passionate and well suited to her role. I’m giving a four star review only because my pumps for my face wash didn’t work after I got them refilled so I had to go back in. However-the associate that fixed the problem was helpful and solved the issue.
Thank you to the whole team! Every time I walk into the store I get exceptionally good service and knowledgeable recommendations. Last time I was in I had the pleasure of Gordons wisdom, very helpful and genuinely seemed interested in providing me options and asking questions to better understand my concerns.

Optimum Health, Kolya Spa and the Apothocary are simply a most wonderful collaboration. Everything in the shop is created with so much care and knowledge, and the staff that work there couldn't be lovelier.
The products, all of them, are so thoughtfully chosen and of the highest quality, and the staff are always on hand to share their wisdom and knowledge. The ambiance is warm and very welcoming, and much like a big family. I could not think of anything that I would change there, it is just so good.
I've always loved this store. I was enjoying the 10% discount once/month. I spent way too much on those visits, but that was great. I was not expecting to arrive and find out that you had changed that plan back to 2 Tuesdays/month. I find that hard to keep track of which weeks and making myself available on one specific day to drive across town. There was a man behind the till, apparently in management, who seemed to be quite annoyed that I was taken aback and wanted to put some items on hold until the following Tuesday to take advantage of the discount. I spend literally hundreds of dollars each time and I didn't appreciate being made to feel guilty for it. I will be looking for another Health Food store that is maybe closer and more welcoming to add to my repertory of shopping places.
