Sloppy installation, customer care supervisors are evils.
I will not give any star if there is a choice. My dishwasher is leaking when idle, I did not think it should be something wrong with the dishwasher, because it is so new, 1 year and 10 month since PC Richard installed it. We asked professional plumber to examine plumbing. Plumber found out the water inlet on the dishwasher was cross threaded caused by improper installation at beginning. We were very angry at this sloppy installation. We called PC Richard customer service, the phone call goes on for 2 weeks, is always hanged up. When I finally got answers, the representatives argued that it past 12 month guarantee time, PC Richard & Son will not be responsible for it. I think they are wrong, they should be responsible for the impairment, because we have evidence showing that the damage is caused by their improper installation. A company should be responsible for their careless, sloppy work, so they can learn it, then do better jobs. The worst thing finally came, I asked to speak to their supervisor, the supervisor is what I have never seen a person such an evil. He answered my phone with gritted teeth, with a tone of a bloodless terrorist: "No body will change the company's decision!, I will not dooooo it!". I almost throw up. A supervisor in a company is in such an anxiety, they must be going bankruptcy soon. I hanged up.

I was looking for a Nikon d7000 and found it on amazon...
I was looking for a Nikon d7000 and found it on amazon first for a 1199. 95 and ordered it there, but later on canceled my order with them because i found the same camera body at ajrichard for 1159. 95 with the same no shipping, no tax deal. Turn out PC Richard & Son charge you a hidden "handling fee" of 60.00. This charge does not appear on your online receipt nor it appear on the receipt they will email you. I accidentally found out about it only by calling their customer service to make sure I will receive my camera before I leave for my vacation. I didn't canceled my order with them at the time because the price on Amazon had gone back up to 1499. 95. Couple days later, I called again to find out when the camera will be shipped since the status has been changed to "ready to ship" for few days. The same man who answered my call the first time told me it will be shipped tomorrow. The same afternoon I went to Amazon and found the price has dropped back to 1199. 95. I call ajrichard try to cancel my order with them. Frankly, I was not happy with the hidden charge and rather pay the same amount of 1159. 95 + handling fee with amazon. I read the cancellation policy and it stated that as long as the order is not shipped one can canceled it without paying any extra fees. To be sure, I rechecked my order status and nothing has changed. The SAME MAN answered my call, after hearing the reason of my call he checked my order and said its already shipped. I told him I am the one who called this morning and was told that it will be shipped tomorrow. Also my order status says its not yet shipped. He then told me my order is already on the truck and I will have to wait till I received the order then pay for the restock fee and the return shipping. I told him as far as I know my order is not shipped and I want it to be canceled. Then I told him I am not happy with the hidden handling fee to be start with. He was angry but said will try to cancel my order for me then hang up the phone. I called back still trying to be polite, he answered the call again but pretend to be someone else. I didn't want to get into another argument with him and played alone. I asked him to cancel my order for me again this time, and he then told me seems like his "co-worker" had already done so and my credit card will be credited within 7 to 10 days. He again asked what's the reason for me to canceled my order. I simply told him cause i find it somewhere cheaper. He said "oh well, i was going to offer you another 100 off from our price." At this point I would rather pay a hundred more at anywhere else than buying it from this site. Now I will wait and see if they credit back the full amount back to my credit card.

Not A Happy Customer
I'm just an ordinary consumer who has been shopping at your company for many years. I have never had a problem with P. C. Richards until November of 2020. I bought my wife a mac pro 16" for Hanukkah and Christmas. When I gave it to her, she really liked it until she used it and it started getting very hot and slightly burnt her leg. The next day I went to return it and was told to return to Apple directly. I bought it from your store and PC Richard & Son want to send me elsewhere to return.it was just a few weeks old. Not even a month. They said the only thing they could do was try to repair it so I left it with them. A few days later Larry, your service rep called and texted me and told me what he did and he also said was giving me store credit. Larry was the only person I spoke to that treated me with respect and kept me well informed and didn't try to make me feel stupid like the people in your bayside store. I went the next day to use the store credit and ALLEN from your bayside store was very nasty to me. He made me feel stupid and that it was all my fault. I spent $2300 on Mac $400 on Apple Care $150 on Microsoft Word. My wife since she had a bad experience with the MAC didn't want another one so I was going to get her an HP with some accessories. Allen tells me if I don't get the same items, I will lose whatever store credit is left. He forced me to get another Mac Pro 16" that I didn't want. I also lost $150 for a new Word as I didn't have any code anymore. Allen was rude nasty, uncooperative and made me feel really bad. About a month later after a few complaints your district manager called defending Allen because he is one of his staff and tried to buy me off with a small coupon. I want to return these items instead I got stuck with them and eventually gave it away to someone who would use it. In the end this cost me $3000 plus the price of a new HP I know this is way after the fact but this incident still bothers me especially since I need some items that you carry but I won't walk into your store again not to be treated like I was from that DISRESPECTFUL ALLEN in your bayside office. That's all I wanted RESPECT. Now I'm out 3 grand your district manager doesn't think anything wrong and I can't shop in your store.

"I had very bad experience with this seller
"I had very bad experience with this seller. I placed an order on line for a Canon camera. The next day PC Richard & Son sent an mail stating "We have been unable to process your order due to verification issues." When I called them to verify, the salesman gave me a final price for my camera that was about $50 more than the final price showed me on their website. When asked why, I was told that this was a "delivery insurance" charge! I said your website did not mentioned this charge at all, but the salesman said "this needs to be added, or I can cancel my order". Of cause I cancelled my order just because of their cheating practice. "

Poor customer service.
I purchased a dryer from PC Richard about 1.5 yrs ago because PC Richard & Son boost about their ability to repair any appliance they sell. The dryer book down I call the service dept 11/3/2020 and a week later they came to my apt to evaluate the dryer. They said it needed a new motoring ordered a part that did not come in for about a mo. Unfortunately they ordered the wrong part. I have been without a dryer from about 2.5 months and I have called and left messages for the manger of service to call me back but they refuse to call me. I have several messages of a one week period. If you purchase something from Richards just hope you dont have a problem with it because they are not very helpful and leave you stranded

Service contract
DON'T BOTHER TO BUY A SERVICE CONTRACT. The stores do a great job when you go there to purchase something. I have always bought service contracts just in case. Well the just in case has just happened. My fridge door is broken. It wont close. In early May I called the service center to schedule repairs. The guy came, said it can't be fixed. I need a new door. The door finally came Monday June 28th, after several emails from them saying PC Richard & Son are having trouble getting the part. We called them Friday June 25th and magically the door appeared in my yard on Monday. I called them Monday to schedule an appointment. After waiting on hold, getting hung up on and waiting again, they tell me someone would be here on Thursday. They didn't show. I just did the same thing again and now they won't be here until Thursday July 7. This is terrible when you don' have any place to store your Cold Food. They actually denied that I was ever scheduled for the 1st. Like I made it up.

Never Refunded!
I purchased a washer/dryer for my mother and when the items arrived, we learned that my mother's apartment could not accommodate the voltage of the dryer - completely my error. However, it is next to impossible to get ahold of customer service. I was on hold multiple times for 45+ minutes attempting to schedule a return pick-up date and each time PC Richard & Son would disconnect the call.

When I finally was able to speak to someone (after at least 5 previous attempts), she scheduled a pick-up for the item. I was informed that a restocking fee would be subtracted from my refund, which is fair since the initial error was mine.

They picked up the dryer on July 8th and I have yet to be refunded for the item. I've since contacted them numerous times. I was finally told that they issued the refund on July 30th and that they couldn't do anything more to help me. I initially paid through PayPal and I've used PayPal for many years. They document EVERYTHING and I've never had an issue with payments or refunds, so I find it hard to believe that the issue occurred on their end.

I've filed a dispute through PayPal and they are taking the issue up with PC Richard. I've always had great experiences with PayPal, so I'm hopeful that they will get to the bottom of this issue and get me my money back, but I'm livid that it's already been over a month. They got their product back and I should've gotten my money back a long time ago. This is the first and last experience that I will have with this company. I want to be forgiving since I know that Covid has caused delays for so many companies, but I can't forgive the fact that my interactions with customer service have largely been negative and entirely unhelpful, so on principal, I will never spend another cent in their stores.

Worst Customer Service
This review is more about customer service then the actual store. I bought my new refrigerator and upon installation I had a flood in my basement due to faulty connection of the ice maker. I had a lot of items on my shelves that were damaged ranging from watches to clothes to cameras. I called my sales person who told me he could not help with this and I had to call customer service. Customer service sent someone out in a few days to fix this all the while I was collecting water in buckets. No one responded to my damages so I called back and PC Richard & Son told me that the claim was closed because they fixed the problem. After a long conversation they reopened the claim as no one had addressed the damage the flood caused. I was told someone would call me in 72 hours to handle this. It is 3 months later and nothing has been done. I keep calling and every time they tell me it's closed and they have to reopen it. My basement is still in disarray. I don't want to remove anything as I am assuming an adjuster has to come to assess the damages. I would never purchase anything from them again. Can u imagine what would happen if I did not pay the bill for my fridge. Very frustrating and disappointing. DON'T BUY HERE. There are plenty of other stores where prices are the same.

TV purchase
Purchased TV from 86th street store delivery scheduled for Wednesday between 8am and 12pm at 12.30 called store said the driver would call me to tell me when PC Richard & Son would arrive, called again at 1.30 2.30 and 3.30 each time same story driver would call he never did, at 4.30 called main office who said driver would be there in 15 minutes, worst service I ever had, will never shop there again PS 5pm no one here or called

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE
Finally got our refrigerator today... FOUR MONTHS after we ordered it AND it's not even the one we originally ordered.

First things first, I had to call OVER AND OVER to check on the status of my order and after about three months of being told various different delivery dates and reasons for the delay (which were all simply blaming the manufacturer) PC Richard & Son finally just said, "Well here's a fridge that's in stock and pretty similar? Would you want that?" Fine... We went along. They tried to charge us an EXTRA $200 for the new fridge just because it was stainless steel and that was all they had! (We of course refused and did not pay that)

It's also impossible to talk to or get a hold of these people. I almost had a problem with the delivery date the night before and there was no way to go online and reschedule or cancel or anything.

Finally, the guy who came and installed it for us said he couldn't switch the hinge on the door. Not his fault I guess, but why wouldn't you equip your delivery people with the tools to do that? It would take MAYBE an extra 10 min? He also would not hook up the ice maker for us. (Not that we wanted an ice maker in the first place but it was included in the fridge that was FORCED upon us) He said we'd have to call back and get someone else to come out for those things... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Why would I want to deal with you people any more?

He also said we could just do those things ourselves because "you can learn anything on YouTube." Yeah, sounds great dude. Great advice. What a JOKE of a company. How have they been in business so long?

Excellent Service Paramus NJ
I had the great pleasure of speaking to Jerry Mazzei. I had been on hold waiting for a manager for 8 minutes, so I called back and just asked for service. Jerry went beyond expectations. Confirmed my refrigerator was coming the next day. Also advised the scheduled installation day (which we didn't know) and told me to call him with any questions. I have had only good experiences with PC and have bought all appliances from them.

Over 4k refrigerator going bad after the first month
On November 2020 I bought a new whirlpool refrigerator from PC Richards with an 8 year extended warranty, MN ake my choice after asking the sales representative about a recommendation due to in the pass I just had a lemon with an lg that lasted 4 years. On December 3 I call that the refrigerator was not making any ice, the rep says their warranty will replace the refrigerator if PC Richard & Son can fix the issue on the 2or third attempt, PC Richards technicians have come 5 times and no luck I have lost time from work, now on June 24 2021 n finally I ask them to get a replacement cuz I can not Stand any more unsuccessful visits and they said that, they can not replaced that they need to keep servicing it, I refuced and ask for a replacement or a refund and they said they can do any of it, if PC Richards has a reputation as they said they should honor and stand by customer satisfaction. With a faulty appliances costing me over $4,000 and having try to fix it 5 times already and not being able to I should be more than qualify to get it replace or get a refund for it. First experience with PC Richards but now I now that they are not reliable as they announce they are. All the warranties are in effect but that to them don't matter. Make a wise choice, go somewhere else to buy ur appliances next time.

Bad Experience
Bad Experience - I should have known better. Canon S95 - their price was $20 less than others. I place order online. No action. I call next day - PC Richard & Son try to upsell me by telling me the battery that comes with the camera is only good for 30 minutes. That's pure BS and they know it. Then he tells me my total price is xxxx. $35 more than my online order. He explains... handling, insurance etc. At this point I realize their game. I reply "Look at my order. I agreed to pay $379.99" - he says well the total is $402. Xx
I say again... look at my order... and tell me what I agreed to pay? He he - he wouldnt do it. Just said... do you want to cancel your order. I said YES

I purchased a Panasonic FZ40 zoom camera
I purchased a Panasonic FZ40 zoom camera. Before I opened it, I decided to exchange it for a Nikon S9100. After a careful discussion with AJRichard's customer service person, describing the fact that I didn't want restocking, etc. fees added, I sent the camera back. I called, after UPS delivered the camera to AJRichard, and PC Richard & Son stated that they'd received the camera. They couldn't, however, make anything but an even exchange. I was to get an S9100 and an extra battery, which I had stated I didn't want, in exchange for the full cost of the previous transaction. When I stated I wasn't happy with that arrangment the customer service person stated I wasn't being charged a number of other charges, including restocking, remailing, insurance, etc. on the exchange. No matter how I tried they wouldn't cooperate and give me the camera I ordered in the way I ordered it and a refund of the extra charge. Realizing they had my money and my returned camera I told them I recognized how AJRichard did business and would accept the new camera, which I'm sure I'll enjoy, the battery, which I'm sure I'll use, and be done with them.

Purchased an inkjet printer that does not work
I purchased a brother inkjet printer, and it is defective. You can't reach a support resource at the number PC Richard & Son provided *******909, and it is extremely slow working with someone via email. I requested a return and full refund, but I was told they would only do an exchange. I'm in Ohio and they are in New York, so I'm waiting for their support resource to provide me a shipping label to exchange the product.

I ordered a Nikon D7000 with a lens for a great price. It gave me a final price at checkout of 1349. 00. Today, I got a call from them trying to sell me a longer life battery and I declined. He told me the battery I that came with it took 10 hours to charge and only lasts 30 minutes! I told him I would get the accessories at my Navy Exchange because PC Richard & Son were cheaper and no tax. He then questioned why I didn't order the camera from them and I told them they were out of stock due to the tragedy in Japan. He then stated I wouldn't be able to find any accessories anywhere for it there, either! He then told the the final price was 1459. I asked why it wasn't the price I checked out with last night online and he said there was 107.00 of shipping insurance. This should have been noted on the website. Fraud! I just canceled my order!

Absolutely cannot trust AJRICHARDS
Absolutely cannot trust AJRICHARDS. I am in the process of contacting the State of NY about their business practices. I ordered a Canon 1Ds Mark III from them. The camera was listed as in stock and the price was $6799. Today, PC Richard & Son cancelled without warning. They did not want to honor the price. They have changed the price to $7599. THEY DO NOT WISH TO HONOR THE PRICE THAT WE AGREED TO. DO NOT TRUST AJRICHARDS. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

SOS - Deer Park Store- Manager James Allessi To The Rescue
We have been purchasing appliances from PC Richards for the past 22 years plus. Every appliance in our home and rental is in every part from refrigerator, stove, dishwasher etc. We ordered a washer to be delivered in a time manner, but unfortunately we had some major issues with each level scheduled delivery. Jerguan Sales Consultant sold us a washer for a scheduled delivery date that was unsuccessful with a host many. We were at the end of our patients. Mr James Alessi, manager Steve the Deer Park Store took swift immediate action to the highest level to resolve our ongoing problem with delivery. Mr James never let go of our hands with this until our delivery was in house and sent a refund to top it off! Class act Mr James and we appreciate everything you did along with assuring that this level that we experience will be stamped out in the future. PC Richards has a reputation to uphold and Mr James and Uza delivery team was phenomenal.

Worst Customer Service Ever
I placed an order online for a washer and gas dryer. I was then contacted by a customer service rep that inquired if I currently had a gas dryer otherwise I would have to pay a fee. I advised the representative that I did currently have a gas dryer. Now at time of delivery not only am I told that my new gas dryer cannot be installed because I didn't pay for it (yes the same one I was told I didn't have to pay) but then the drivers were rude and unprofessional. Then to add insult to injury, I call PC Richard & Son the next installation for dryer is a week from now on top of PC Richard & Son have no record of my conversations with them until today yet my original delivery was for 1/12/2021 and I personally rescheduled to 1/21/2021. THE ABSOLUTE WORST. Will definitely be my first and LAST purchase from them ever. Submitting this to corporate as well.

Excellent Customer Service
I had went over to the store in Chelsea on May 31,2021. I was looking to purchase a Refrigerator and Stove. The salesperson that helped me with my purchases was Lucy Marina. She was so knowledgable in all areas regarding the size make etc. of both the refrigerator and range. I could not have did it without her. She was a pleasure to deal with. Such a nice courteous woman who knows her job well. She is an asset to P. C. Richards.
So if you are thinking about purchasing a huge appliance head on over there. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Make sure as soon as you enter you ask for Lucy. She is the Best!
