Did not supply box of screws ordered "..due to a stocking error..." . Upon checking we found that they were still being advertised on their website but at an increased price.
Scandalous!!!
I’ve no doubt when I finally receive my item it will be fine—but I have waited in patiently since early afternoon in case it was delivered early-delivery time given as between 17.30 & 18.30 -roughly-time now is 21.45–and even though I’ve been receiving regular updates on the dpd app-stating they were “running late”and “ the driver will be with you soon”—I’ve just received a txt saying sorry we missed you at 1800—complete utter garbage and total lies—also infuriating—and a rip off charging £8 for this crappy service—I was relying on receiving the clamps today in order to get a glue up done overnight-for an order to send out tomorrow—will seriously consider other alternatives for my next purchases -if you think this is in any way acceptable!!! Absolutely dreadful!!!
The worst experience in my life. We bought Clarke CIG81015 Heavy Duty Instant Garage / Workshop – Green (4.5 x 3 x 2.4m).
Due to my husband going through cancer treatment, we didn't open the box right away. Only 11 days later. Therefore, we did not report that some of the details were missing. The quality is not what we expected.
I reported this to the customer service. And I was refused a return of the goods, since two weeks have passed.
The answer is :
as the item wasn't reported as having missing parts within the time frame it can not be returned for this reason.
If you no longer require this, you can return it, however not with pieces missing.
How can I return a complete product? My husband and I are severely depressed.
I have used Power Tools Direct for several purchases - the latest being a bulk order of weed killer. I’ve found them to be very good value, easy to order from and with excellent communication regarding delivery etc. I recommend them and will use them again .
Quick service , my hozelock lance spray came really well wrapped , it works perfectly and it’s light weight as well so easy to use , and I can reach hanging baskets with ease , well worth the money I highly recommend you buy one .
Really quick delivery, purchased a turf cutting tool which was an excellent price and does the job I needed it for really well
I rated 4 stars and not 5 due to cost of delivery especially as only the head of the tool was wrapped in thin black plastic, the wooden handle which is quite long was not wrapped at all. For £7.95 del charge I expected better
Purchased items and paid for next day delivery to ensure items arrived by the time work was booked in for (4 days away) items arrived 6 days later so work had to be rescheduled costing money. When I requested a refund for the delivery I’d paid for this was denied. Very poor service and customer care.
The free postage over £70 is a con. When paying, given the option to pay for quick delivery. Seems that all delivery is the same it only relates to how long they keep your item before posting it.
Shopping basket empties far too quickly. Especially on a website with so many items in different categories.
Would have made a larger sale had my basket not been deleted twice whilst shopping as I forgot to re-add some of the items I originally intended to buy but which had disappeared from the basket.
Paid for next day delivery and didnt receive for 3 days.
Good products at great prices but service let down by dispatch time. Paid £8.95 for delivery but was not dispatched for 5 days then sent on a next day service. Working in the trade I need items sooner so will only use when I’m not desperate for items.
Shipment lost in transit after paying for express delivery. Still unresolved days later, requested a full refund only to be told that this will only happen when the shipment has been located. I would of thought insurance would be included in the delivery charge. Meanwhile I have nothing for my money.
Power Tools Direct sent me my new Hills Rotary Dryer very quickly and efficiently. They were also very competitive in pricing. I am very pleased with my new purchase and shall certainly look to Power Tools Direct in the future for any further purchases.
I needed a wider forked ball joint separator and Power Tools Direct had a Clarke one that was perfect. Only they didn't actually have one. I ordered 3 other items while on their website and had I not queried why the shipping notification did not include the ball joint separator, I would have only found out when the shipment arrived. Given that the most urgent item for me was the ball joint separator, their failure to notify me that they did not have it, notwithstanding there was no indication it was not is stock on their website, cost me a week where I could have been sourcing it from elsewhere. I won't be ordering from Power Tools Direct again.
Really good service and fulfilment - the only supplier I could find able to supply the set of parts I needed, with good fast delivery and a good price as well. I actually placed an order elsewhere, but that supplier had to refund because they couldn't complete the supply. I was a bit worried by the recent set of poor customer reviews for Powertools Direct, so want to re-balance that by saying how pleased I am.
I made an order on 25th May which I paid for and received a receipt. Sad to say, despite a 3-5 delivery schedule, I’m still waiting for it to arrive. Despite 4 emails to the sales department, you can’t telephone them, I’ve had one response to say that they’re looking into it, on Monday last, no one has come back to me. Would I recommend Power Tools Direct? Certainly not on my experience. Customer Service simply doesn’t exist.
10 days to deliver an order which I paid extra for to get the “express 2-3 day” delivery service is nuts. Complained and asked for a refund for the postage and was told the delivery time is not guaranteed. Hate to think what “standard” delivery is like. In a world where most businesses like this offer a next day service these guys are left in the dark ages. Couple that with their after sales service which refused to acknowledge their poor service and I won’t be ordering from them again.

I placed my order having made sure what I needed was in stock on their website and paid an extra £6.95 for carriage so I could get-on with the job straight away.
When my package arrived, only had of what I ordered was there. They had decided to just send half of my order without asking me what I wanted to do. I'm still £6.95 out of pocket on carriage and unable to do my job! Why one earth the won't just send the missing item when it's back in stock I have no idea!?. Neither will they refund (part of the carriage I paid for rapid delivery! - I've asked and they have declined!
Poor service from the outset and I'm only posting this review after they've declined to talk to me any more about it!
My advice? - buy elsewhere : I certainly will!
Bad company! Mailing preferences need to be updated. I opted and paid for express delivery but waited 2 weeks for the item that should have been a 2-3 deliverey! A phone number is provided but this is USELESS because you can’t speak to anyone, you are just given an email address. This kind of scamming (taking money for a service that doesn’t exist) is disgraceful and power tools direct should be ashamed! I requested express delivery because the hozelock garden hose was needed quickly. It took 2 weeks to reach me, in which time I was forced to buy the same item from another company that DID deliver the next day. I told power tools direct not to send as I would refuse delivery and they posted immediately! Item was as expected but service and communication was appalling.
The worst after sales ever ,had issues with compressor on many occasions and they just passed the problem straight to manufacturers . And left me to deal with them myself , disgusting .I didn't buy from the manufacturer I brought off power tools direct . I WOULD NOT recommend buying anything from this company not even a light bulb.they just want your money and that is that , They say they are British made but all the parts are Chinese rubbish
