I was disappointed that the whole process turned out to be so inconvenient. First of all, your website information gave me the impression that the restaurant concerned had a window of delivery from 9am to 6pm. Fearing that the food delivered would be left out in the elements for hours while I was out, I opted for click & collect. On the day of the order I called the restaurant late morning to find out roughly when I could collect, as I hadn't received any notification from them. The man on the phone said they hadn't received any order from Providoor, and didn't expect the orders to come until 2pm! I called at 2:30pm to be told I could pick up the food around 5:30pm that afternoon. Why could this not be indicated at the time of ordering (two days before)? I could have waited at home for the delivery if I had been told it was to be delivered in the evening. If this is the same for all the restaurants involved how could I plan a dinner party? I see this service more as a gimmick.
Thank you to the crew that put together such amazing combinations of food.
We have just recently used a gift voucher present from friends that have previously
experienced your cuisine. My husband & I split our meals over three consecutive nights
due to the generous portions. Our taste buds sincerely thank you for the experience.
Kind regards ...... Annette
This is the third time I have used Providoor and it never disappoints. The feast we had from Maha recently was amazing! It was relatively easy to prepare and a generous amount of food for two people that provided two more lunches. Living in Canberra, it's great being able to access food from some of Sydney's best restaurants this way.
I've ordered twice. The set meal for Maha was lovely, menu looked beautiful, loved the playlist idea, food came together easily with clear instructions and was delicious.
Second order, from Grossi a Casa, the food itself was a little underwhelming and came with no instructions either hard copy or digital so I had to Google them. Not as good an experience. The tiramisu was really nice though.
The delivery and execution of the Providoor box from Oriental Teahouse was perfect for our Friday night evening. The selection was perfect as were the portions and our party of 3 ate our way through it at our leisure. We liked the instructions too which were precise and accurate. A special occasion as this was a belated xmas gift to enjoy - and the fact that we shared this with a visiting family member made it even better! Recommend this idea for all food lovers who enjoy cooking, eating and the company of others.
I would like to give you a huge pat on the back!
On Saturday we hosted an 80th birthday party for family and decided that, since we had children and since we would have unlimited time in a restaurant, the best option was a lunch at home. Everyone likes lamb so the choice was simple.
Our order was placed well over a month ago so I was a little nervous as the date approached in case our order was forgotten. Your communication was excellent. As I was getting worried you sent a very reassuring email and this was followed up by a series of emails keeping us very much in the loop. Everything occurred as you advised.
THANK YOU PROVIDOOR!
Chiswick’s meal was top quality and everyone was delighted however there was one small item that needs mentioning. The vegetable chips were rather soft and soggy. Easily fixed by putting them in 180C oven for 5-10 mins but had we not done this the chips would have been a disappointment. This step should be on the preparation sheet.
The containers for mint sauce leaked - this could be fixed by taping or plastic wrapping.
Other than that, the quantities were exactly as Chiswick advised and the quality was superb.
THANK YOU CHISWICK!
My Providoor order was from Rumi restaurant , I gave this to a very dear friend of mine and her husband I wanted to treat them as my friend was told last week that her cancer had returned and she started Chemo last Tuesday ,they received their order on Thursday and have told me it was amazing , everything was perfect , so thank you this service is fabulous.
The expectation was high and was exceeded.
I enjoyed browsing through the restaurants and then reading the preparation guides.
The 9.30 am delivery was excellent and the meals arrived well packed, complete with easy instructions.
The experience felt like restaurant dining, except it was in our own home.
An additional bonus from Grossi, was the a la carte menu. We took advantage and had one meal each evening, all very different, for five evenings without the hassle of planning and cooking.
Economical and tasty.
Congratulations on a great concept. Thank you.
This was my first time Providoor experience and I'm converted! I thought it didn't make sense to pay for fine-dining only to then have to prep the food and clean up afterwards. However, the prep process with a bunch of mates ended up being a highlight of the evening. And avoiding needing to organise and pay for babysitters and restaurant-priced booze meant we had an awesome dining experience without the usual sting to the wallet. Looking forward to the next experience.
Ease of absolutely everything from ordering to delivery and 'cooking" to plating up was fabulous and fun! More than met our high expectations, and although nothing beats the in house dining experience, this runs a very close second - and best part - you can enjoy fine dining in your pj's!!! Was not our first time and will definitely not be our last!
We've had several meals through Providoor and would usually rate it 4 or 5 out of 5. This one that included 2 x Nour's vegetarian banquet 1 x Nour's Autumn festive menu for 2 was not up to the usual standard.
The roasted eggplant was squashed and had to be resurrected before placing in the oven. I guess this happens from time to time and the eggplant was tasty.
Our main problem is that most of the dishes had multiple ingredients. These were usually provided in a labeled paper bag with the name of the dish on it. Once each of the ingredients was removed from the bag, we were often at a loss because the individual ingredients were not labeled. The instructions used names with which we weren't familiar and the dishes were also unfamiliar. Before long we had a kitchen bench covered with unlabeled packages and with those of us cooking attempting to decipher what they were and into which dish they went.
If you want a better rating next time, Nour, make sure you clearly label ALL ingredients. Providoor, I'm disappointed that this is not a requirement for restaurants that use your service.
I gave a Maha feast as a belated Christmas gift and ended up assisting in the preparation of it as well as tasting some also. Everything was clearly labelled and the directions were easy to follow making it not only tasty but a fun experience also.... a nice touch was the spotify suggestion for background music adding to the atmosphere.
As a mum two a newborn and toddler, with no family living nearby, Providoor has been our answer to being able to continue to enjoy fine dining (without needing to book a babysitter). The delivery is always on time, and I like the text notifications to let me know when it's on the way and delivered. And the food... oh gosh. My husband does 99.9% of the cooking and this is the easiest way for me to be able to reciprocate with MINIMUM effort. 10 out of 10.
I bought the Chiswick Providoor lamb for 2 for Mothers Day and it was a deliciously excellent experience from start to finish: ease of ordering on website and having the box delivered to my excited parents on the central coast, to the fun of unpacking it all and making it together as a family and the fact everything is easy, with the restaurant ensuring high quality ingredients. Ordering again for mum’s bday!
My wife and I shared a slow cooked lamb feast from Chiswick, which was absolutely delicious. They did all the hard work and made me look good, doing the final 10%. This isn’t takeaway, it as if you are sitting in the restaurant, eating their food fresh from the kitchen. Crack open a nice wine and you’re laughing.
Providoor let’s you enjoy a true restaurant quality experience at home - and doing that final 10% is actually good fun (and easy, with instructions, lol).
Sometimes staying in is the new going out.
We have had a few deliveries from Providoor, and each time they have been great.
The tracking info is really useful, and the delivery always happens when they say it will. The food is top quality and the cold packaging works well. They also use recyclable packages, where they can, and compostable (cardboard and paper) as well.
Absolutely fabulous. We used the Maha experience for Mum on Mother's Day and she couldn't believe the quality of the dishes my brother and I kept presenting! The instructions are so easy, everything is literally a quick 'finish' on the stove or in the oven or 'quickly fry in the pan' etc., this is 5-star dining made easy!
Loved every minute!
I (Charlotte) bought this as my Mother’s Day gift for my mum (Jenny) as she lives in Kangaroo Valley and we couldn’t get to visit her from Sydney.
Excited to see that Providoor delivered to the area, we jumped on and ordered.
Come delivery day, my mum received a frantic phone call from the driver who couldn’t find her address, even though it was listed correctly in the shipping address and also delivery notes were left with a contact number in case they got lost.
The poor driver had no idea where he was and mum told me how panicked he was on the phone. She ended up having to FaceTime him as he drove down her street to show him the driveway turnoff.
Not sure if this is feedback for Providoor to use drivers that know these semi rural areas, or feedback to the drivers to read delivery instructions before heading out. The instructions were clear. Seems like
Apart from this, food was fabulous. Thank you!
We have had many providoor meals and unfortunately this Lotus meal was not to the standard of the others. The quantities of food to go with the duck pancakes was minimal, eg the shallots, onions, etc barely made a total of 4 pancakes. One of the dumplings was also very sticky so stuck to each other which meant that the filling spilled out when pulling the dumplings apart. Also the fried rice lacked flavour.
A seamless service - first used during lockdowns, now a regular favourite for special occasions with the family! We have ordered from many different restaurants and they have all been delicious with innovative menus and generous serving sizes. We have selected menus at different price points and all have proven to be excellent value for money (ie the expensive ones are absolutely amazing!) Thank you to all involved!
