And then...
On top of this when moving our stuff out, we stopped by to do the right thing and pay the two days extra for this establishment to hold our stuff. We bought a home. Rent was due on the 1st. Moved our stuff out the 2nd. We were told we had to pay THE WHOLE MONTH! Two days equal a whole month. I nearly jumped over the counter when that smug employee told me this.
Uhhhhhh, people store your stuff in a friends garage. Throw most of your stuff out that you can live without. Donate it.
This has been a horrible experience for my family. Im trying to warn you. They do not have good intentions. This company is so disgraceful, with no care for people that it amazes me they are still in business. They remind me of leeches... suck the damn life out of you!
He then told me I was required to buy their lock at $20 and I couldn't use a lock of my choice. I told him I would buy one at Home Depot and he said they didn't have any. I went to Home Depot and they had it, at almost half the price. I called headquarters the following day and they said I could use a lock of my choice.
He asked me to leave him positive feedback there and then. Before I even signed a contract.
I came back a week later and needed to throw away a chair and he said they didn't have a dump for customers and if I left the chair they would bill me $100. I called a public storage up the road and Morgan said he was more than happy to dispose of the chair. Since I had no space in my car I had to put it on the roof of my car while my son held it as I drove to the other location. The manager there could care less and could not have common human courtesy to help. I am sure Public Storage is a formidable organization, I just happened to get into the worst location. This has been by far the worst experience I've had and will be removing my personal belongings from the Tampa Florida location at 16415 n dale mabry.
Public Storage is always raising my rent. Since last March of 2017, they've raised the rent twice and that's a total of $90.00 added on to my regular monthly fees. I am paying far more than any new customers, because that company will take advantage of you. Once you've rented from them for a while, expect your rent to keep being raised. Since February of 2018, Public Storage has added on about $35 - $40.00 on my rent, which Public Storage Reviews had already raised in March 3017. They are an unregulated company and can raise the rent, whenever they want. Or so they believed. Both times the rent for my locker went up by more than 20% and I am not taking this lightly. I am taking them to court over the rent hikes. If Public Storage do not like renting to you, it will raise the price of the rent and do other things to bug you. Plus they also have mice and the place is not clean and also no climate control in its lockers. Why waste your time and rent from Public Storage. Go somewhere else. That is what I will be doing. I believe that they also raised my rent, just so that I can move out and stop using their services. Don't get hook by its promotion. It is a very racist company with some very racist employees.
1) I rented a unit from them for a month; vacated the unit after that one month, paid them in full, and asked them for a receipt or something to show that I have no balance and that I vacated. It is "company policy not to print such receipts." Instead, the manager there wrote me a hand-written note that said I vacated, closed the contract and have a zero balance. I have been getting harassing calls and emails from their corporate offices, asking me to pay more, because, according to what they have in the system, I'm still occupying the place. Every time I talk to the workers at the location, however, they tell me that my account is closed but that they are incapable of printing me any paperwork showing that. I will have to take them to court and file a complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Protection.
2) When I moved in, it took 3 hours to do the paperwork. The woman there (white woman in her 40s) looked like she was on crack or some other illicit drugs. I paid my movers a good dollar, of course, for all these three idle hours, to wait for Public Storage to complete a simple contract.
3) Their units have termites, termites that literally ate part of my beautiful, expensive armoire during this one month.
4) Their advertised "$1 for the first month" cost me about $250 in all kinds of hidden fees. That does not include the monthly payments of $261 that they want from me, probably for the rest of my life, because they cannot seem to be able to close the contract.
Word of advice: once they get your debit card information, you are locked in for life with these Mafia people. They are like a cancerous tumor - I simply cannot get rid of their harassing calls and emails and I simply cannot close the contract (even though the local manager tells me it is closed). Next step is involving my attorney, and taking them down for punitive action too.
It should be noted that the only person that was sympathetic and kind about the situation is Amanda from the local Morganville, NJ location. I did attempt to make a similar post on Google Reviews but you are only able to review the local facility and I will not give the local facility a negative review because Public Storage Reviews seem to be more competent and caring then their corporate counter-part.
Horrible property, first 2 months in 2 weeks after my wedding I found out there was a leakage inside my unit from all the rain and at that time it had been raining almost everyday. My belongings were significantly molded, some of my boxs still contained water Although Public Storage Reviews request that you have insurance when storing your belongings and I honestly see why... but what good is that when they give you an estimate bast off of what THEY FEEL your valuables are worth. They moved moved me to another without leakinging issues But there sure was bugs. Crawling inside my stuff not only that rat poop aswel. After realizing I was paying for my stuff to get ruined I decided to romove what was left of my items and still ended paying something. Out of $1500 of damaged I ended up with $630 with a $100 deductible which was crazy when the insurance I had award up to $3000. I've used several storage companies in the past but this was by far the worst experience ever! I only gave 1 for the sake of this post!
