Not knowledgeable of storage and misleading on specials
First Star Wars start by saying Public Storage offers a dollar movie in first month which is misleading by time you finish paying you end up paying almost one month payment because you pay a $24 administrative fee then the $1 which total $25 then Public Storage Reviews add on the insurance which is $11 then there's the lock fee of $19.95 and then the taxes are added on by the time that total ass up you will be paying almost one month payment and also you advise them of what it is you are storing then they suggest the sides unit you would need to hold your items which you will be storing but when you started to put your items into the unit space it's not enough room I think that they should be more knowledgeable of the space unit but they seem not to be that and knowledgeable of the space in the units I have rent space unit before and it was able to hold the items a witch I was storing and everything fit but here at Public Storage everything did not fit in the space they gave me so they are not very knowledgeable of the spaces there are renting out I would not be recommending public storage 2 anyone because they are misleading with that dollar move in first month and not knowledgeable other space of each unit dependent on customers items

Poor Policies Poor Management
The Customer Service with Public Storage is laughable I booked a unit online (DO NOT EVER DO THIS) 10x15 unit outside with drive up access (their online description) we drove all day only to get to the unit the following day we were supposed to get a text when the unit was ready that never happened so I called and was told the unit was ready and the gate was broken so I could drive on in! Not secure at all and not in the best of areas! We drove to the unit only to find out the doorway to the unit was a small passage door for a 10x15 unit I still don't understand that? I went up front and spoke with the manager (she was very nice) explained Public Storage Reviews didn't have any other units that would work. She immediately closed the reservations my account was billed the next day I gave it 5 business days thinking the money would be credited but it was not! I then called the customer service only to be told they could not credit the money despite never even opening the door to the unit the representative said I had to contact John Ramsey the district manager as he was the only person that could issue a refund? MAKES NO SENSE! I was given a number by Public Storage which was wrong? (don't even know their managers phone number?) I had to go back to the local facility and spoke with the same property manager again was very helpful only to be told she couldn't issue any credit only John Ramsey District Manager had the authority to do so she gave me a good phone number to Mr. Ramsey only to get his voicemail I have left several messages for Mr. Ramsey and have yet to get a response. Moral of this story DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY!

Worst customer service on multiple occasions
11195 Alpharetta Hwy, Roswell, GA. When renting, viewed the unit, began the paperwork, Then the upsell started, The counter person said I MUST purchase their property insurance. Knowing that I intended on storing bulky, low cost items, I declined. Had to argue for 10 minutes, finally asking to be shown in the contract where this was required. Ahaaa! Suggestion, but not a requirement. Went ahead and rented the unit as I was in dire need, A few months later, we visited and found a different lock. Cheapest one supplied by Public Storage. We had not made this change, Contacted the facility by phone, and a most helpful male voice offered a replacement lock and reasonable accommodation. Then stopped in, and the property manager became completely unreasonable. Swore that the lock on the unit was ours, and did not want to hear the facts that someone else had removed the lock, Seeing the bad security reputation of this facility, it is my suspicion that someone cut the lock, and management replaced it, then denied any knowledge. Bottom line is that I moved out immediately in the face of rude behavior and an uncaring attitude in the front office, There are at least a dozen storage facilities in the immediate area who want my business. Contacted the corporate office, and was assured that a 'Supervisor' would return my call, Left a voice mail, but several days afterward, no response from them either.

THE WORST COMPANY AND THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ONE CAN GET!
THE WORST COMPANY AND THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ONE CAN GET! Dismissive and obnoxious, rude and then talking down on a customer... I called in numerous occasions to let them know I no longer needed the unit. Public Storage Reviews indicated I talk to the unit manager. Had to get a two-hour ride to personally go and talk to him so that I would not have to deal with problems later. I followed instruction and even turned over the keys to my unit to the unit manager. Then they started billing me for fees I did not owe. I explained over and over that I had followed their instuctions and went to talk to the unit manager in person to turn over the unit and the keys. Nothing. Now they are up billing me for September when I no longer use the unit since July. As soon as I complained and asked questions the customer service woman started cutting me off and would not let me get a word out. Then she told me "I have other customers I have to attend, not just you,..." then she hunged up on me. Who does that? It speaks of an inability to handle customers properly and lack of training... I will be writing multiple negative reviews based on my experience so that people can know what they are getting into before they waste money, valuable time and energy! NO STAR RATING!

Terrible experience with one fellow unlije all my other experiences
My storage unit's latch fell apart and the man who identified himself as a district manager, I've later found out that wasn't exactly true told me in essence "too bad" there was nothing he could do about it and it would get fixed when it got fixed. He could not have cared less that my property was totally unsecured and literally said "What do you expect me to do?" He said I could hire somebody to move my things to another unit until mine was fixed then hire someone to move it back to my unit. Mind you I am 71 year old woman with a torn rotator cuff, arm in sling and walk with a cane. He was rudest man I've ever dealt with in my 71 years. He then insisted I leave a key to my lock on this half hanging off latch so people I did not know and did not trust after dealing with him could have free access to my property. I had no choice and when I returned the next morning the woman who normally runs that store could not have been nicer. I'm not using names with this but my letter to the storage company will. I'm not using location because this was only this one man not the location, but it does happen. Where ever this fellow is working now if you experience him report him, he does not deserve to represent this good company.

Worst experience at a storage facility
This storage building was terrible. Everything inside of it was covered with a layer of dust, cobwebs, spiders both dead and alive, other bugs, and mouse droppings. Every time after I got something out of the building I needed to immediately change my clothes, even with a tarp covering my things. Vacating the storage building was also very difficult. After I had moved my things into a different facility, all that remained in the building were three wooden pallets that the building provided. I was informed that I needed to remove the pallets on my own (not my pallets, Public Storage Reviews belonged to Public Storage). I was told that I was not allowed to vacate because I had not given two days notice of my intent to do so. This was never communicated to me previously. I was also billed for a month of rent on an empty storage building that contained the property of the company I was paying. Once I finally removed the pallets, I found a decomposing mouse under one of them. Brittany, the manager on duty, was not at all helpful. On the day I vacated (after having already tried to do so once), I had to wait 45 minutes for the only employee to return to the office. I left and came back when the sign on the door said the employee would return, only to see that they had changed the sign to say they would be back even later, forcing me to wait longer. I have never had a worse experience with any business. The service and product are both terrible.

These people are scam artist! Beware
My husband and I rented a storage unit for two years from them. In this time frame Public Storage Reviews tried jacking our price up 4 different times. The last time i called and spoke with the district manager, whom was conveniently at that office location "SELLING OFF PEOPLES PROPERTY THAT COULDNT AFFORD THE PRICE INCREASE". I made that man a promise that day that I would inform others of what this company was doing. He took it as a threat but really people need to know. They will lease to you and then increase your rental and inform you by email only, so they can make a profit off of you when you cant afford it.
And then...
On top of this when moving our stuff out, we stopped by to do the right thing and pay the two days extra for this establishment to hold our stuff. We bought a home. Rent was due on the 1st. Moved our stuff out the 2nd. We were told we had to pay THE WHOLE MONTH! Two days equal a whole month. I nearly jumped over the counter when that smug employee told me this.
Uhhhhhh, people store your stuff in a friends garage. Throw most of your stuff out that you can live without. Donate it.
This has been a horrible experience for my family. Im trying to warn you. They do not have good intentions. This company is so disgraceful, with no care for people that it amazes me they are still in business. They remind me of leeches... suck the damn life out of you!

Misleading manager, conned to buy his products. And stinky unit.
Horrific! I was given a rate via customer service 800 #, when I arrived at the unit the location manager "James" quoted me a different price and he said corporate could change my rate tomorrow if Public Storage Reviews choose to. He showed me 2 units and they both stunk so bad which is why I suppose he suggested I buy 4 Damp Rids from him. I felt obliged to use the unit since I was there with the moving company and was already in hundreds of dollars. Had I known they were going to smell so bad I would have not used it. No feedback mentioned this.
He then told me I was required to buy their lock at $20 and I couldn't use a lock of my choice. I told him I would buy one at Home Depot and he said they didn't have any. I went to Home Depot and they had it, at almost half the price. I called headquarters the following day and they said I could use a lock of my choice.
He asked me to leave him positive feedback there and then. Before I even signed a contract.
I came back a week later and needed to throw away a chair and he said they didn't have a dump for customers and if I left the chair they would bill me $100. I called a public storage up the road and Morgan said he was more than happy to dispose of the chair. Since I had no space in my car I had to put it on the roof of my car while my son held it as I drove to the other location. The manager there could care less and could not have common human courtesy to help. I am sure Public Storage is a formidable organization, I just happened to get into the worst location. This has been by far the worst experience I've had and will be removing my personal belongings from the Tampa Florida location at 16415 n dale mabry.

RATS IN THE CRANSTON RI FACILITY
I want to start of by saying how disgusted and unsatisfied I was with this storage facility. I had all my things stored here for about a year and a half and never missed a payment nor was I ever late with a payment (check your records) and when I was ready to clear out my things to move into my new home last week we found on all of our belongings there was rat urine and droppings all over my furniture and other belongings as well and Public Storage Reviews didn't have the decency to send a notification to people letting them know of the vermin infestation. The staff said they have been aware of the infestation since the summer time but didn't seem to care Instead they told me that's not their problem and I had to handle it my self. Also I was disgusted with the staff there because they are still renting space to anyone that asks for one without informing any of them about the rats that are inside the facility still. This was not a safe or clean environment for me and my wife is pregnant and to expose her to this is a serious health hazard. I will seek legal counsel due to the thousands of dollars I've lost when I had to throw all my furniture and personal belongings away due to the health hazards from Vermin urine and droppings in which I do have photos of. I would never recommend Public storage to anyone I know so they don't go through what me and my family went through and I will forever tell this story about my Public storage nightmare. $#*! you guys seriously. Talk to you soon

Shocking at how they treat you.
Public Storage Reviews had a accidental charged 3 and again 5 months later to my credit card after I was already moved out. The corrected this the first time. But thne second time it took me some work and effort to get the district manager to fix this again. 2 days later a creditor had sent me this huge vanilla envelope with 18 years of every transaction, payment, everything. I had told the collections folks they were wrong and leave me alone it's not me, it's public storages mistake. So why did this collection agency already have a this copied 18 years of personal information on their mistake? I think they are greedy, dishonest about things that they allow to happen. I know because I have seen it on paper. Even the credit card company, mentioned the second time they randomly charged mmme again, mam were you not gone from there over 5 months ago? The very first time I had a office gal see if I was still on their computers when their system charged me and she stated, NO there is not a thing here with your name. So some one who works for public storage started this ball rolling and I think they are so big now they just want your money, good posts for public image. Crooks beware. Don't do auto pay!

Glendale call center
Amanda from the Glendale call center, at least that's what she said hung up on me. I had almost forgotten to pay for my storage and attempted to go online after I got off work... I did not want to miss the date of making my first payment! It was late when I got off and wanted to rush before 12 am! I tried so many times to put my email and account number in to set up the my online account. ( online account payment method is free... using call center is 20.00 and automated calls are 10.00 extra) to avoid late fees I called to explain the issue I was having at this point 12am was approaching. Amanda was the one who took my call, she explained to me that I didn't have an email associated with my account! No fault of my own because It was never told to me that in order to go online I would need a email provided. So I wanted to ensure since it was three minutes to 3/11/17 that I wouldn't be charged anything extra. So Amanda continues to get smart with me so I ask for her manager and she says " yeah, I'll get the manager" and proceeds to hang up! I am pissed she needs to be held accountable. There is nothing wrong with me ensuring I don't get late fees since no one ever told me to provide an email, had I known that I simply would have given it in order to pay without extra charges! SHE NEEDS TO BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR HER RUDE MANNERISM! I will follow up to ensure she doesn't do it again!

Do Not Rent From Public Storage. Over Priced Units and Not Clean.
Public Storage is Totally unregulated in the USA and Canada. Do Not Fall A Victim.
Public Storage is always raising my rent. Since last March of 2017, they've raised the rent twice and that's a total of $90.00 added on to my regular monthly fees. I am paying far more than any new customers, because that company will take advantage of you. Once you've rented from them for a while, expect your rent to keep being raised. Since February of 2018, Public Storage has added on about $35 - $40.00 on my rent, which Public Storage Reviews had already raised in March 3017. They are an unregulated company and can raise the rent, whenever they want. Or so they believed. Both times the rent for my locker went up by more than 20% and I am not taking this lightly. I am taking them to court over the rent hikes. If Public Storage do not like renting to you, it will raise the price of the rent and do other things to bug you. Plus they also have mice and the place is not clean and also no climate control in its lockers. Why waste your time and rent from Public Storage. Go somewhere else. That is what I will be doing. I believe that they also raised my rent, just so that I can move out and stop using their services. Don't get hook by its promotion. It is a very racist company with some very racist employees.

15350 Oxnard st van nuys ca 91411 location
If all the employees were like Andrew at this location I would never come back. Worst customer service -I'm 4'9 & I had ONE only ONE large item that I practically begged to get help just to transfer from my car to a cart cuz I had no help moving to another state. He barely looked at me while sitting on his butt on the comp and kept denying to help me cuz it would be a "liability" and he wasn't allowed so I asked for a manager we could ask cuz I literally could not do it myself and didn't know what to do … and he said idk where Public Storage Reviews are or if their busy still not even looking at me sitting on his ass on a computer with No another customers in sight I was the only one so he clearly wasn't actually busy just lazy and a $#*!. HOWEVER THANKFULLY HILDA & ALLAN WHO WORK THERE ARE LITERAL EARTH ANGELS. Like I said I had no help moving to another state so I was super stressed and overwhelmed but Allan is the one who set me up with the storage he was super polite and helpful and explained everything to me and without being annoyed w me or giving me an attitude. Super nice guy - he even overhead my convo at the end w Andrew and was offering to ask a manager for me. BUT sorry to say Hilda was my favorite please promote her or give her a raise! If she didn't walk out of the back just in time while I was also having that convo w Andrew NO ONE would have helped me. She was like okay let me see what I can do for you and asked the manager. You can tell she actually cares! To add to that earlier in the day when I had made my first trip she saw me struggling with my cart and offered to show me an easier way to pull out solely because she's clearly a genuine human being who deserves recognition for caring even when she didn't need to! She went above and beyond and I wouldn't have had a good experience without her help -the 5 stars are for her (& Allan)!

They commit fraud. Also, termites everywhere
This company is a big scam - at least this location in New Orleans (Tchoupitoulas Street). Public Storage Reviews engage in fraud. Here is what happened:

1) I rented a unit from them for a month; vacated the unit after that one month, paid them in full, and asked them for a receipt or something to show that I have no balance and that I vacated. It is "company policy not to print such receipts." Instead, the manager there wrote me a hand-written note that said I vacated, closed the contract and have a zero balance. I have been getting harassing calls and emails from their corporate offices, asking me to pay more, because, according to what they have in the system, I'm still occupying the place. Every time I talk to the workers at the location, however, they tell me that my account is closed but that they are incapable of printing me any paperwork showing that. I will have to take them to court and file a complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Protection.

2) When I moved in, it took 3 hours to do the paperwork. The woman there (white woman in her 40s) looked like she was on crack or some other illicit drugs. I paid my movers a good dollar, of course, for all these three idle hours, to wait for Public Storage to complete a simple contract.

3) Their units have termites, termites that literally ate part of my beautiful, expensive armoire during this one month.

4) Their advertised "$1 for the first month" cost me about $250 in all kinds of hidden fees. That does not include the monthly payments of $261 that they want from me, probably for the rest of my life, because they cannot seem to be able to close the contract.

Word of advice: once they get your debit card information, you are locked in for life with these Mafia people. They are like a cancerous tumor - I simply cannot get rid of their harassing calls and emails and I simply cannot close the contract (even though the local manager tells me it is closed). Next step is involving my attorney, and taking them down for punitive action too.

PAM AND VICKIE...
Public storage at 5340 catomo/ Timquana... The ladies there are very special. Vickie who I dealt with first. Was patient with me. Answered all my questions. And took her time. I didn't get any negative vibe out of her. She walked and showed me my storage. She beat me to it. The whole experience was pleasant. Then the next day I came. I met Pam... I had to used the bathroom so bad. Pam did her best to help. So I wouldn't have an incident on myself. Pam also answered additional questions that came up. After my first visit... In a world full of racial tension right now. These two ladies help my experience on both sides... Public Storage yawl did good in hiring these two. I appreciate the both of them. And because of the experience. I always willing to go out the way. To store my things. Plus the property is very clean. The storages are very clean. I didn't see trash anywhere on the property. My experience there helped me to know. That not all of Jacksonville is throwed off... Kudos to PAM AND VICKIE. FOR DOING SUCH A GREAT JOB. DEALING WITH THE PUBLIC. HOSPITALITY ISN'T A BIG DEAL ANYMORE. VICKIE AND PAM. ARE PROOF THAT GOOD SERVICE DOES EXIST... AGAIN... THANK YOU LADIES FOR CHANGING MY EXPERIENCE... STAY SAFE...

The best customer service ever!
I leased a unit from this property on Owen Tach over a year ago. The lady working the front counter name was Trena and she made the experience very unique. She exhibited such a kind, warm and sincereness about herself. So here I am again needing to lease another storage unit and that young lady popped in my head. I remembered the outstanding service she provided in the past. To my satisfaction she is still there and I must say that her service is still excellent! It's not often that I give reviews, however when someone impresses me to that extent it is mandatory that I give a review. I would like to thank Trena at PS for her patience and willingness to assist me. You don't even know that I am working on the way I interact with people and I wondered if people saw in me what I saw in you. I hope that people get from me what I got from you. In my book you have the best customer service ever!

Public Storage Disrespectful Following Father's Passing
I have reached out to Public Storage corporate with respect to this matter prior to this posting but received no response - to no surprise given the events which have transpired with them. My father passed away last summer and my mother is the legal executrix of his estate. He has a storage unit at one of their facilities. My mother had been in contact with the regional manager who made the payment and transferring process extremely difficult and was entirely insensitive of the situation. Not to mention she requested information that would fall under personal information that legally she has no right to see. My mother provided all of the necessary documentation - a copy of death certificate, legal appointment of her as executor, and the incompetent manager Donna Murphy, who was supposedly consulting her legal department, refuses to allow my mother to pay the bill to bring current. She told my mother that she can only send emails to my fathers email address (who is deceased). Clearly we have access to the account but the principle of the matter has gone above and beyond what could be described as disgraceful customer service. Legally my mother is in charge of my father's property given "pass-thru" laws as well the fact that she has been appointed Executrix of his Estate. Not only does my mother deserve an apology but this manager deserves a reprimand and a course in human decency. To say I am appalled would be too kind at this point. Again, to no surprise, no response from Public Storage.

It should be noted that the only person that was sympathetic and kind about the situation is Amanda from the local Morganville, NJ location. I did attempt to make a similar post on Google Reviews but you are only able to review the local facility and I will not give the local facility a negative review because Public Storage Reviews seem to be more competent and caring then their corporate counter-part.

They Don't tell you about rent increases in 6 months after signup
I just want to let everyone know the price your quoted is not the price you'll pay. After 6 months Public Storage Reviews increase your rent and say that the price you signed up for is just a promo rate and that after a few months and then each year after they will continue to increase your rent. They conveniently leave this out during sign up, Super shady... they should tell you that upfront when you sign up! My rent went up $20 a month now, If I would have known that I would have went down the road to the new storage facility that was just built and got a unit that was the exact same size but temperature controlled for the same price or a little cheaper! I was going to keep this unit for a few years but after finding out that after only 6months they increased my rent and then each year after that they're going to continue to increase my rent again they lost my business! I pay my rent on time every month and I'm never late... what a way to reward your customers. I'll be leaving this company now and moving my stuff to a new storage company that will earn my business for the next year to two years until my home is built.

Horrible experience
Property # 08756
Horrible property, first 2 months in 2 weeks after my wedding I found out there was a leakage inside my unit from all the rain and at that time it had been raining almost everyday. My belongings were significantly molded, some of my boxs still contained water Although Public Storage Reviews request that you have insurance when storing your belongings and I honestly see why... but what good is that when they give you an estimate bast off of what THEY FEEL your valuables are worth. They moved moved me to another without leakinging issues But there sure was bugs. Crawling inside my stuff not only that rat poop aswel. After realizing I was paying for my stuff to get ruined I decided to romove what was left of my items and still ended paying something. Out of $1500 of damaged I ended up with $630 with a $100 deductible which was crazy when the insurance I had award up to $3000. I've used several storage companies in the past but this was by far the worst experience ever! I only gave 1 for the sake of this post!

DON'T USE PUBLIC STORAGE!
If I could give this storage place minus stars I would. Since the pandemic hit I was in the hospital many times as well as losing my job due to Covid 19. Public Storage Reviews not only raised my rent on the three units quite a bit, they tacked on late fees, lien fees, etc making it almost impossible to pay what was due on the units and put my units "up for sale" due to nonpayment for being just over 30 days late. They refused to work with me and kept on adding fee after fee. I talked to the manager, Molly Bertalone, who not only would not help me but never returned my phones calls until I called customer service and complained. She then STILL REFUSED to help... stating it was too bad, they don't take the covid 19 situation into consideration and they wouldn't even help with the late fees/lien fees so I could get current. Molly Bertalone should not be representing this company. She is so rude, non-caring and caustic. She cares noting about the customer... only making money over people's misfortunes and the pandemic. I think it is horrendous that they keep raising the rents exorbitantly as well during these difficult times. WORST STORAGE PLACE EVER. They also charge extreme fees for insurance and when my storage unit was broken into they refused to pay for damages because the perpetrators came in through the top of the unit that was unsecured rather than breaking the lock. Molly Bertalone would not help with this either... she only increased the rent on the unit and was quite acrimonious to work with. THIS PLACE HAS NO MORALS OR VALUES!
