My niece gave me a birthday present of Sakuraco boxes.
I lived in Japan for several years and this brought back great memories of the green teas I love and the magnificent and elaborate sweets.

They will give you the option to change your shipping address up until the box ships. Unfortunately, they don't send the box to the new address, so I never actually received my box. They don't offer refunds or replacements in any way, saying there was nothing they could do based on the delivery confirmation to the wrong address.Their shipping also takes about a week longer than anything on the website says and the tracking was very confusing. They also make it very convoluted to unsubscribe. Would not recommend based on them taking my money and not sending anything to me.

I just received my first box! I was excited about the theme because on my last trip to Japan 2016) my final stop was in Yokohama where I had a wonderful stay with a lovely host. The box has brought back happy memories. I’m enjoying reading the booklet with information about Yokohama and the contents of the box. Today I tried Kyoho grape jelly which had a delicate flavour- ‘oishi’! I’m looking forward to trying the rest of the box. I like the way there are 2 each of the smaller items so it will be easier to share. As I’m vegetarian there are two items that I can’t have, which is a shame. Although they won’t be wasted, as my husband will be happy to try them. I’m very happy with the Yokohama tea time box and look forward to next month’s delivery!

I truly love this service its so fun! The snacks are great and even the ones that aren’t necessarily to my taste are interesting and fun to learn about. It can be a little pricey but the excitement of each months box and the fun of opening it with a friend more then makes up for it!

It’s exciting to receive a Sakuraco box, knowing that the handpicked items are truly delectable. I like the themed box, and even the little booklet inside allows me to discover more of Japan’s history and culture.

Their presentation was really good. The food was very tasty, their packing was also very efficient ;I mean even after eating half of the box I still couldn’t pack it back.Loved it.

Just received our first Sakuraco box today. I was a little doubtful before its arrival that we would find it interesting enough to keep it up. But it is a thoughtfully presented, delicious, stunning and amazing box of snacks!!! A bag of milk bell castellas came (along with many other items) and I haven't had those in years. They are a nostalgic favorite. With the local ingredients the castellas that arrived have surpassed my childhood favorites 1000x. The box included a few mini chocolate doryaki which is perfect for introducing my son to Japanese treats, because he really liked those. We ate those as soon as we opened the box. The booklet it comes with lists allergens and reminds us these snacks are very local, coming from different prefectures and the care that is put into the preparation of these snacks.

Repetitive items. You will get similar items each month but a different flavour. Automatic renewals that they refuse to refund. I had no idea it automatically renews for another 6 months. They do not send any emails or communicate that it is a recurring subscription. I was under the impression it was a one-time subscription. I contacted customer support and they were useless.
I've lived in Japan and the box is way overpriced for the items you get. It's cheaper to buy it from a different website or a local Asian grocery store.

I ordered my first Sakuraco box, and it was a delightful surprise. Apart from having mini treats that can be shared with a loved one (since there are 2 of each), there are larger items which can still be shared. Loved the mini ceramic plate - really sweet. Each thing coming out of the box felt like a Mary Poppins scene :) As if things never stop coming out :) :) I absolutely loved it!!

I used to live in Japan and I LOVE getting this in the mail every month because it authentic, high quality, and celebrates traditional foods and history. I’m always surprised at the variety! Great value for what you get. This is a well thought out curated box and I would recommend it to anyone!

Pros:
-Lovely box
-Arrived quickly
-Variation of snacks
-booklet gives you details on each snack
-Legit straight from Japan
-Worthwhile purchase overall
Cons:
-Lovely box sometimes has no protection and comes with the shipping sticker straight on it
-Contains one single packet of bagged tea
(If the package is meant to be shared, its going to be a pretty small pot of tea for the group)
-Some more fragile crackers can come broken (if sent with no protection for box)
So overall good, but room for improvement.

The Sakuraco box brings my family joy every month. We wait to open it together and enjoy unpacking and sampling all the treats. We enjoyed this month’s Taste of Hokkaido box much more than the matcha box last month. The azuki items were lovely and the tea was lovely. The favourite item was the Hokkaido mini biscuits. It felt like we were actually visiting Hokkaido when eating these local specialities.

This Summer Hokkaido box has too many little sweets to be my fav, not enough variety & nothing very substantial...just a lot of white flour. I should say that in past I always chose my boxes & skipped a month if it didn't appeal (I always look for a big bag of mochi), but I got stung, not realizing that when I moved to multi-month plan, suddenly I can't skip a month. Sakuraco does not tell you this that I can see. Probably a translation problem, but it is deceitful. PLUS when you sign up for the special freebie promotion, you only get that bonus the first month (also not spelled out), and totally unfair, you lose your original intro sign-up bonus. So many silly obscure rules (Japanese culture I guess), which I have emailed them about. I think I may just stick to Yamibuy & Yummy Bazaar & my local Japanese grocers. It's a shame, b/c Sakuraco does a great job & I loved the recent Zoom tour of Japan, but they are just not consumer-friendly. No more overnight DHL; their new shipper takes 2 weeks (which is why I wanted to skip the hot summer months, but I can't) and tracking showed up 6 hours after package was lying downstairs. I see June Mystery items now show complete ingredient lists, and the additives and chemicals are now there for everyone to see. I'm guessing prices are bound to increase, so I would probably have canceled sooner or later.

I love the June box, but I thought we were getting the strawberry cookie in our box but we didn't! The YouTube video we watched unboxing this box showed it was in it. Very disappointed but good box though!

The delivery was very fast and got here in only 2 days. The sweets are very delicious and the tea is refreshing, and not to mention the authentic Japanese feeling of all the products. The booklet provided was both informative and interesting.

You can always rely on getting high quality goods from Sakuraco. Other subscription boxes cut corners but Sakuraco goes out of its way to collaborate with known providers to send you exceptional and authentic snacks.

The subscription is automatic renewal but you will not be informed of this at the time of subscribing. I was charged $540 without prior notice, which is a significant amount of money just for snacks. I have requested a cancellation and refund of my subscription as soon as I was infomred about the charges but they refused and is still refusing to refund my subscription. There is no way to contact them but to open a ticket. I find this unfair and deceitful. They are hiding negative comment on their social media so that no one will find out about their decpetion. I would never recommend this to anyone. Avoid subscribing if you do not want to be charged against your will

The Matcha and Mochi box was delicious. The many snacks infused with matcha are delightful. The sencha teabags are fragrant and light and quite refreshing. What a great idea to subscribe to a box of snacks to promote your country’s cuisine and culture. Wish other countries would do the same.

price is perfect range for what you receive! delivery is always quick and timely each month. the overall service is amazing and every box is a surprise and great treat! i’m elated to receive it every month and find myself just counting down the days until it arrives! i highly recommend Sakuraco to anyone and everyone!

I love getting my box every month. I am never disappointed!!! I would recommend this box. Always surprised at what comes in the box. It's a fun box that I enjoy sharing with my family and friends. I especially love the daifuku, always delicious, pairs well with tea.
