Bad customer service
I went to the store on 3/9/19 with my brother in law and got told that Stanton Optical had a special of buy one frame and the other one free and $99 for the glass including both frames so made an appointment and went yesterday 3/16/19 did everything got my 2 frames asked some question and they told me that my glasses where going to be ready in an hour went back and they only gave me one pair i asked for the second pair and i got told there was no other glasses for me only this pair i asked why and explain what i was told on 3/9/19 and the girl said that she talked to her manager and the manager said if i wanted the 2nd pair i had to pay $50 more and i asked why if it was buy one get one free and the glass was already pay for and the manager said to the other girl "JUST GIVE IT TO HER I DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH HER NOW" that made me kind of mad and im never going back and i dont recomend going there. The old "Bait & Switch" is Alive and Well!
I just relocated to Greenville SC and I put my last contact lens in my eye last week so I needed to find a place that would give me a new prescription. Stanton Optical advertises many times a day here in Greenville. "2 pairs of glasses for $69 plus a FREE exam." Well... that sounded okay. So I went online, made an appointment and when I arrived Stanton Optical had my appointment and all was well... until they asked me what I was there for. I told them I'd just put my last contact in and needed to get my eyes checked and a new prescription. I also added I saw the ad for "2 pairs of glasses for $69 plus a FREE exam." "Ohhh sorry," they said. Contact lens are a different exam, which is crock, because I still got examined for glasses and contacts. But apparently to get contact lenses its $89 for an exam and nothing free. Except if I bought the contacts right then I get a free exam the next time I came in. I opted not to buy them there and I'm glad I did as when I went online, their lens were double the price I got at lens.com.

Total Con Job
We went to Stanton trusting the reviews, we weren't expecting a bargain but good service. Our Eye exam went well and then we had to choose frame and lens. The individual who worked with us keep pushing the more expensive frame which we resisted, then he talked us into the more expensive lens since time was of the essence. The lens we picked, we were told could be done in house and ready in 24 to 48 hours. After 48 hours, i called and I was told that those lenses would take 5 to 6 business days and rudely told Stanton Optical would call us when done. It has now been over 2 weeks, no phone call, no glasses, the event that was time critical has come and gone and I'm out over $1,000 dollars. Total Rip Off and Con Jobs

Americas worst
Recently i needed to get new glasses, in the past i went to americas best but decided to give the new players in town a shot myself after sending my wife there to get her glasses and she came home telling me about the new procedure she experienced there. First problem there was i dont have the best hearing anymore so while doing the questionaire the intake person started to ask the usual questions but with her back to me while asking them... i mentioned the issue but she proceeded in continuing in that manor so i had to have her repeat everything over and over till i could hear it... the exam was ok with the new no doctor present but instead he was on a video screen with control over the device we were using. That was alright it seemed to work ok. So next i was told to go find frames not once did Stanton Optical mention that only frames under a certain price were part of the 2 for 59. Deal so that became a huge waste of time having to go back and pick other frames that were in the pricing criteria which there wasnt very many of to choose from... so i picked some out went and sat down at thier little desk where i spent the next 45 minutes waiting for them to come finish up in the meantime they are helping the folks who were coming in and its like they just forgot me... while waiting im noticing these pads they write on have just outrageous prices and im thinking ok must be someone getting some spendy frames by those prices... well after reminding them hey im still here waiting i finally got someone to come over where she proceeded to start writing down numbers far far away from 59 dollars and when she finished up and handed it to me the cost was almost 400 dollars... i was in price shock and asked where there 59 dollar pricing had went. Thats when i was told some mumbo jumbo about my prescription was a lot of the reason for the price hike because of my lenses where this and that and it made the cost more? I said well its no different than it was at americas best and they never in all the years had it costed me more than thier basic price. This seemed to frustrate the person not being able to explain why they charged more when americas best did not... i was told to hang tight she would see what she could do and ten minutes later i was presented with the best she could do deal for me 100 bucks and nothing thats normally done at A. B was gonna be included in this deal, no coatings or scratch resistence type stuff included. 100 bucks, thats almost double the quoted price we all see in thier advertising. The real joke was they asked me to give them a 5 star review because they went so far outta thier way to lower my cost. Say what now. Well when all is said and done i was just handed the 2 pairs no checking or adjusting them just here they are have a good day and worse yet my glasses came not with the 2 different frames i chose but both pairs each in the same exact frame and probably the cheapest version of the ones i had picked youll ever see... within the first hour of wearing them i barely bumped them and they instantly bent and stayed that way until i was able to make them right again. I will never ever send anyone else or myself ever return to this place. It was the worst experience ever in getting my new glasses and what they do there is as much a bait and switch as i think youd ever see... so if you go to americas best keep going there, at least they stick to the advertised prices and have caring customer service people who get it right or theyll make it right. I am of the opinion that stantons customer service people must be at least partially commisioned on what they sell after experiencing the way things are done at the store i went to... i only hope no one else gets taken for thier hard earned money by these folks getting you to come in expecting one thing but getting railroaded into something far more expensive than they intended. Stanton optical shame on you for bait and switch type selling and your uncaring service reps

Never again
First went to Stanton optical on 4/8/16 and eye exam from dr. Sutton reveled rt. +0.75, -. 050,085, +1.25. Lt. +0.50, -0.50,095, +1.25. Staff and Dr all very helpful and nice. I purchased a set on glasses using the buy 1 get 1 free. One for distance one for reading. The distance glasses were great and I could see clear again. Paying no attention to the reading glasses I left. So later I had found a pair of frames at another store that I liked and I decided I would have the progressives made. A week later the glasses came in and the distance was great but the reading part was blurry. So I tried on the reading glasses I purchased from Stanton and sure enough Stanton Optical were blurry too. The strange thing though was the cheap +1.25 reading glasses I purchased from the Dollar tree for $1.00 are crystal clear. So I asked the tech about it where I was buying the progressives from and he explained that the prescription that they have to go bye says add +1.25 He said to equal the +1.25 reading it should be rt. Add +0.50 to equal +1.25 reading in the right and Lt. Add +0.75 to equal +1.25 reading in the left. Had to have the prescription made out correct to get it fixed. On 5/5/16 I returned to Stanton optical and dr. Sutton was not there. I explained the problem to dr. Sussmane and he said to fix the problem we had to do a recheck. On the recheck reveled rt. -1.25, -. 050,150, +1.25. Lt. +0.50, -0.75,096, +1.25. So the problem is the prescription is not correct and it is according to him my fault because I did it wrong. What I am confused about is, Why are the original distance glasses clear and why are the dollar store reading glasses clear. For some reason I could not articulate this to dr. Sussmane and I had a appointment I had to get to so I decided to leave the glasses there and told the tech I would be back in an hour after my other appointment. I returned 2 hours later and was told they cannot do progressive lenses in house. Um, I do not have progressive I replied. So I am in the computer system, they have both my glasses distance and reading and somehow they started thinking progressive. So after explaining everything to the technician frustration seems to set in with both of us and customer service went right out the door. I asked for my glasses back that she was holding and said ill just bring the issue to my bank and let them handle it. She said Im not going to give them back to you then. I then had to firmly state to return my property and she removed the glasses from the case and returned them to me. I said the case too and she returned it to me as well. When I asked her name and for the manager she ignored me. When I leaned to look at her name tag she covered it with her hand. To identify her she was the oldest woman there, in her 50s about 5 slightly overweight. I then went to a tech that was not busy and he pointed out the assistant manager that was helping a customer right behind where I was NOT getting helped. After the assistant manager was freed up I asked her if she had witnessed any of that and she stated she did and was very apologetic and helpful toward the customer service issue. She had suggested I wait for the store manager to get back from lunch and proceeded to try and figure out the problem with the glasses. (1+1=2). I might not be the smartest person around but I know what clear is. Anyway, about 20 minutes later the store manager came back from lunch and I had been there a combined 3 hours to do some simple math to equal +1.25 and she seemed real busy and I left tired and frustrated. By the way did anyone else catch that in the second prescription? Right eye distance -1.25 add +1.25 for reading. Zero magnification in the right eye for reading. I did say the +1.25 $1.00 reading glasses are perfect right? So I am using the original prescription for distance and it is clear and the $1.00 glasses for reading. For the progressive I will just have to eat the cost of another exam to get the correct prescription. Going back to the statement of the second Doctor, you are correct it is my fault; I chose to go to Stanton Optical.

Avoid this company
So I went to the optical department in Stockton California. The greeting by the employees was less that proper. During my eye exam the supposed Doctor did the exam and then tried to explain to me why i needed certain contact lenses but his explanation was as if he was talking to another eye doctor. When he finally explained it I paid and left to try out the two lenses he gave me. I then called them to order and Stanton Optical said I never paid for my original exam. I had to go back on my credit card statement to prove to them I paid the original exam of 89.00. I asked them how they would have let me leave without paying foir the exam and she said several people get mad and leave without paying. I sent them my credit card statement to prove I paid which they should have been able to pull up on their own computer to show it was paid. The prescription the supposed Doctor filled out for me on my original appointment was not filled out correctly and when I tried to have the prescription filled elsewhere they wouldn't do it because the prescription was not complete. I am a retired doctor of Audiology and know what a doctor is suppose to do for patients. If you do business with them you are a fool!

Still No glasses
I went to Stanton Optical at the end of March 2020. I spent in between two and three hundred dollars. Why did three or four weeks for my eyeglasses to come back because I broke the pair I had. When Stanton Optical come back the prescription was totally wrong. I could not see anything. They asked me to try them out for a week. They called and said my second pair was ready I never picked them up because I knew the prescription was the same. I had to wait a few weeks went back in had another eye exam done. I had an 11 appointment. I feel like everyone was taken in front of me because they had not collected their money yet. I sent there for two and a half hours. Finally got my eye exam done. There was a big difference in the prescription. They took my frame back and was supposed to get the pair I never picked up and send them off for new lenses. That was 4 weeks ago. Today I call to find out about my glasses and they tell me that I have one pair ready. It's the same pair that are never picked up because the prescription was wrong. They're showing my order has never been placed. I can't see to drive so I am so upset right now. My experience has been nothing but the worst.

I can't hardly see to write this with my new Stanton glasses!
I went to the store just built in Beaverton, OR. I was only customer, but the lady doing exam from remote area was odd. I thought it was because of covid-19. From what I read it's common practice. I waited 2 weeks for glasses. Stanton Optical aren't right. Floor is slanted, bad glare, headache after 5 minutes of wearing them, and if I look to side I see half through lens half out the side of glasses. I need glasses at night, and these got some things closer head on but everything else is off. I will be more likely to have a wreck with these glasses than without. I was thinking of going back and complain and get refund, but from the horror stories I read on here I may should just take my lose. At least I only lost $108. But I'm low income in the middle of a pandemic. But contemplating is it worth more stress. I should of read reviews.

Bad business
I went to Stanton Optical to get an eye examination and glasses. I received a eye examination over the internet. Waited about 2 hrs for that and another 20 for my glasses. Stanton Optical were the wrong prescription and even the person who was helping me stated so. I was told to come back the next day with an appointment to get a examination by a doctor in person to get the right prescription. I show up and check in and 1hr15min later I get asked to go to the main area away from the doctors. I stated that I needed a new exam and it was replied to with did you wear them? I tried explaining that I wear glasses and my 2yr old script was more powerful than the one they gave me and it was to weak. That the girl the day before confirmed this fact. That was met with hostility and then ignored. Was told that I was provided long vision script and I needed one for short vision. I tried to explain that with the current one I couldn't see long vision ither but again that was ignored. I received in the end two pair of reading glasses good for about 3ft, good for my phone. Something I could have got at many stores for $10. My 2yr old glasses let's me see better. Still need another exam, wasted $60...

Consistently the worst operation available for glasses
Worst people hired, no training, no money to hire quality, prices are a draw but I don't think I've ever seen or heard of anyone getting two pairs for 59$ because there are only like, a few frames at that price. No one wants those frames. First time I went, insane wait time to recieve glasses. This last time, went tuesday eye doc left early... came the next day eye doc wasnt there... angry woman at desk let me take an eye exam begrudingly because she wanted to go home (it was 6pm) then she me left in dark exam room after virtual test with remote doctor, employee clocked out. I got up and wandered into the waiting room, and called out, hello? No one was there. A random employee asked if I needed help. I said I need special lenses, you don't manufacture them, so I just need my script and my PD numbers. She ran around not sure what she was doing, then after 20 minutes came back and gave me a script that she wrote. She was a random employee, not an eye doctor. I went home and ordered what I needed from zenni optical because that is what glasses should cost. Entered the numbers, and zenni confirmed that the numbers were not possible, that the numbers written on the script could not be manufactured as Stanton Optical create impossible lense correlations. Unreal. The place is a joke.

If I could give 0 I would!
I have had astigmatism as long as I remember. I've never had blurry vision with contacts in or wearing glasses. Out of right eye with new script it was cloudy, I went back and doctor very rudely told me it was because of astigmatism and my contact wasn't for astigmatism, mind you Stanton Optical have that contact to me. I told him I've never had this before he said I would have to live with it. He then said I needed to give new script 5-7 days and come back because I would not give up my position that it was not correct. I went back today, still not correct. He told me to be quiet and he was the doctor and I have astigmatism and that is how it was and I was going to deal with it. If I wanted old script I could do that. I said old script wasn't cloudy but you said my prescription has changed so I must need a new contact, it something is wrong with this one. He opened the door and said get out. I said excuse me. He said you get out now. I said okay, do I get a refund. Do I get my script? Let me call someone because I'm not understanding... he said you get out now... I walked to the front and that lady was nice, but no refund, nothing... the doctor was so very rude both times I seen him. This was the biggest waste of money and month and half of my life wasted! I will be reporting them to BBB and everywhere I can too. This doctor is insane!

Will rob you blind at every corner. Nothing but lying thieves.
This is the second time I have been the Stanton Optical Roseville. I should have learned from our first encounter. The first time we left the store because their total costs were way higher than the advertised special. When we went back to get the prescription for the glasses to go somewhere else, Stanton Optical offered us a deal which was less than half the price of the first offer, This time it was the same thing. Quoted me foe what was supposed to be BOGO sale for two frames ($79 and $39) plus lenses. He lowered it to $199 after I talked my daughter into using the "value" deal for $19 frames plus lenses. WE should not be having to bargain for medical necessities for our children. His attitude was very domineering and smug. He said my son's glasses are out of warranty because "the factory warranty on the frames is expired and the extended warranty we paid for only covers the lenses and not the frames". He had just tried to sell us the extended warranty on my daughters glasses 20 minutes earlier stating it covers the glasses for 2 full years. Their business is very unprofessional and disrespectful.

DO NOT GO HERE!
Stanton optical in Sherman Texas!... This is the worst experience I've ever had getting glasses in the 45 plus years that I have worn glasses. I won't even go over the exam that did not make any sense. But when I got there to pick up my glasses I could not see anything through the glasses. Not even one thing. Then the manager / supervisor Matthew tried to convince me that that was normal, to not be able to see anything at all through my glasses. It was just ridiculous. And although I paid cash for them $200 I could not receive cash back as a refund. Okay so you have a policy. But then he couldn't understand why I was upset. The whole thing was ridiculous. I can't believe the experience I had. The horrible customer service I received. I certainly will not go back there. I will recommend to everyone I know not to go back there. I can only pray to God that I received my so-called corporate refund by a check. That Stanton Optical say I will receive in 2 to 6 weeks. So that's another no telling how long before I can be able to see now. Because I cannot afford to get glasses until I get that money back. But I'm sure they could care less about that. My family members that recommended the place they will not be going back there after this experience. But I'm sure Stanton optical does not care about that either. Of course I do not get reimbursed for the 240 miles for the 260 mile round trips I took for the exam or to pick up the glasses. Horrible horrible horrible place. Do not go there

Horrible
0/5 STARS IS MORE LIKE IT! DO NOT GO TO THIS OR ANY STANTON OPTICAL. Their service in the store and customer service are TERRIBLE!
I visited this store with my mother to get her some reading glasses as she was due for new ones. While waiting to see the doctor in the back we browsed and choose two pairs. After we were done with the doctor the only person helping customers, Israel, was busy with another customer. We waited around the area he was sitting at with the customer expecting to be assisted once he finished with the gentleman he wa as with. When he finished, he walked away to the other side of the store, sat in a chair across Adam, the brand managers desk, put his feet up and pulled out his phone. I was flabbergasted, when I realized he was not going to OFFER us any assistance, so I crossed over to the other side of the store where Stanton Optical both were, which is when Adam looked at me and asked, "are you done selecting glasses?" I told him we had along time ago, which is when he told Israel to help us.

Israel then stood up, walked to his work station, typed a few things into a computer and gave me a $270+ price. I asked why that much as they had a buy one get one offer and he proceeds to tell me that my moms prescription calls for very thick glasses and he was giving me a package that included a lens that would not make her glasses too thick. FYI: my mothers glasses are reading glasses, they are not THICK. I wear glasses and have a very very bad prescription, myne are "THICK" and I need a special lens so that they are not "Coke Bottle Glassess", not my mom. Israel clearly does not know what he is doing or is in the bussiness of UPSELLING and lying to customers.

He did not check that the glasses we selected were a good fit for my mom, put a machine in her face and did not even tell her what to do, only when my mother asked me what she needed to do did he tell me what to tell her. He then charged me, gave me a receipt and walked away from us, I had to ask when they would be ready, he then responded 1-2 hours.

I called the store from my car and requested to speak to the store manager and watched as the girl who answered told the manager Adam that there was a phone call. She came back on the line and told me he had stepped out of the store! I WAS IN THE CAR SITTING WATCHING HIM AT HIS DESK!

He has never answered back any of my phone calls, not that day nor any other day. I called customer service to request a full refund where they claim they will process escalations and no one calls me back. When I call them they tell me ADAM denies my request for refund but no one calls me to talk to me about the "RESOLUTION" of the claim. They claim to have sent Adam countless messages for him to contact me, he does not.

I requested the Regional managers information, all I got was her name, Autumn I*****. They claim they have messaged her to contact me as they can not give me her email or phone number. I messaged her through linked IN and am waiting to see if she responds.

AGAIN DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID. DO NOT GO TO THIS OR ANY STANTON OPTICAL.

Unusable Overpriced Glasses
I went into Stanton (only because the location was convenient) on 2/23/19. I needed two pairs of glasses so I wanted to take advantage of their 2 pairs for $59.

I did not need an eye exam and my insurance paid for one pair. I walked out paying $124 for a single vision pair even if I took my own frame. Stanton Optical charged me $20 to use my own frame. They charged my Insurance company $545 for 1 bifocal pair.

What happened to two pairs for $59? Does anybody actually get that? This is false advertisement just to get you in the door.
I cannot see out of my $500 glasses. The small print is blurry. I Took them back and they couldn't resolve anything because it was my own prescription, which I had checked out by my optometrist. I think it was their lense material they used. I'm stuck with these $545 glasses that I can't see out of.

I will never go there again! I guess that's how they pay for those annoying stupid commercials

Over two weeks to get basic glasses and frames?
I'm normally a very patient person (can go from 0 to nuclear rather quickly if you push the right buttons), so with that being said, I literally had no complaints about the wait time for the exam, the exam itself, customer service, etc... I do take an issue with finding only 13 discounted frames in the most hideous of fashions, though.

After paying $90 Stanton Optical tell me it's going to be just over 2 weeks until they come in. Over two weeks?! I'm walking around with super glued and duct taped glasses here because my dog decided they looked like a great chew toy. I would have paid double if it meant I could properly see.

Just flat-out ridiculous of a wait time. Never going back there again until they correct their cake and coffee laissez-faire way of doing business.

Most professional service ever experienced
I would like to commend Stanton optical on employing Ronnita Washington as a service manager at the East Washington location, in Madison, WI. I have never had anyone in the service industry treat me with such care and concern, as I received from this employee. I was guided through the process, and everything was explained to me in such detail that I left feeling I had received the best deal in town. I would return to this store for service, and recommend it to family, friends, and co-workers. The commercials do no justice to the knowledgeable service I received on Saturday 4/3/2021. Thank You Stanton for hiring this Great individual.

Horrible! Never again!
Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! Worst service ever! I wish I could give this place less than one star! All of those who give a better score seem to be basing their rating on the initial experience. Yes, when I placed my initial order, it arrived at a decent time frame and was correct. Of course Stanton Optical will do a good job. That's when they get your money! Don't be lured in by their free eye exams and buy one get one free offer. You will regret it later. Here is my full experience. The doctors are all online and from "Florida." Yeah, right! With this accent, I am almost 100% sure they are overseas, but hey, it is a free eye exam and I don't mind supporting poorer countries, so fine. As long as the prescription is correct, who cares. Then my son breaks his glasses. There is a replacement guarantee, so no problem, right? Wrong. I went to the store, placed my order for a replacement frame, and paid my 20% copay. I was told the frame will be ready in a week (the lenses did not break, so it was just a matter of getting a new frame and switching out the lenses). Then, I waited and waited for them to call back. Nothing. Called several weeks later and was told the frame was never ordered. Another order was placed, but the frame is now not in stock, so they told me they will order it in a different color, and that should fix the problem. Then, I was told, on the same call, they will also order another complete frame with lenses, just in case the frame-only order was causing the glitch. Now we have three orders going on, so one of them should work, right? Wrong again! Called every week from that point on, and the answer is the same. "Your order is being processed," "we don't have any updates in our system," "we will put you on hold to call the lab," then a long wait in hopes of getting rid of me, then the sales person comes back on the line to tell my that that the lab did not answer and that he will call me back as soon as he has an update. Then, I never hear back until I call them back the next week to get the exact same frustrating pattern. I am cutting my losses and going elsewhere. Please save yourself the time and agony and go to Walmart or Target. They have much better service there. I have learned my lesson. You get what you pay for.

Update: And here is the kicker. I tried to file a complaint with the BBB, and when I selected the Omaha location, it automatically transferred me to the "Southeast Florida and Caribbean BBB website. Then, on the third screen where I am supposed to pick a location from a drop down menu, the only option is FL. So, there is no way to file a complaint against the Omaha location? Is Omaha location a scam or what?!

HORRIBLE SERVICE - NEVER RESPONDS
My husband and I have tried NUMEROUS times to get an issue resolved that we've had with Stanton Eye since FEBRUARY 2019! On June 25th, 2018, my husband signed up for Club Membership for $396.90. These services went unused until February 11th, 2019, when he paid $24.66 to have a pair of broken glasses replaced. Weeks and WEEKS went by with him having to call the Tyler TX Office at 8988 S Broadway Ave #116, Tyler, TX 75703, *******838 for an ETA on when Stanton Optical would be ready, and they kept saying multiple times that the order was either accidentally not processed, delayed, or the frames were no longer available, and any other excuse they decided to give him. This happened for so long, that my husband was forced to order another pair of glasses from a different company. We called about this to the corporate office in July 2019, NO RETURN CALL BACK. My husband's mother was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 as well, so we got preoccupied and were unable to continue following up with Stanton Eye. We shouldn't have to keep following up with your company. We called your offices on January 6th 2020 to try and get this resolved AGAIN, spoke with a man named Jay who promised he would call us back within the next 48 hours, and still today as of March 3rd, 2020, have heard NOTHING back. I just tried again to leave a message under the "Insurance" mailbox at the corporate line *******020 in Florida and was unable to do that because the mailbox is full! This is getting BEYOND RIDICULOUS. We are very upset with the lack of customer service and support your company offers and demand the following refunds. Your "Club Membership" did not service us at all.

Be aware of this company, they do not care about their clients or resolving issues. We've gone ignored WAY too long.

Over a month wait for my glasses
I definitely WILL NOT be ordering glasses from Stanton Optical again. I went into Stanton optical on 4/3/2020 to have an eye exam and to buy a pair of glasses. It's been over a month since I've had my exam, and when I call to speak to someone about my order status I'm transferred to an automated machine. Am I the only person waiting this long for my glasses? Do Stanton Optical not understand how important it is for us the customer's to receive our glasses in a timely manner. It's like once Stanton optical received my money they could care less about when I will be receiving them. I'm highly disappointed. They lost another customer. That's for sure but I'm sure they will not care. My advice go somewhere else if you can afford it. Or be like me and have to wait forever. Best of luck. I hope this helps.
