Uber Eats is great until you have a problem with a restaurant they delivered for.
I received unsafe handled food, it was chicken contaminated with salmonella. It smelled foul, was pink n bloody. I contacted Uber Eats right away. They reimbursed me for their delivery charges and said restaurant was gonna be contacted.
I contacted restaurant right away as well said they’d look into getting me a refund n get back to me, they didn’t within 24 hrs.
I contacted them again n was told Uber Eats is responsible for giving me a full refund.
I contact Uber Eats again, no they tell me restaurant was correct about refund but it’s not their practice to refund because it was now 48 hrs. Have passed since the delivery. Really?
They knew they were response for my full refund, but only gave me a portion, then when I reach out again, once I found out thru restaurant that Uber was responsible, now I’m too late. So now 48 hrs. Later, and was only reimbursed $13 out of $44.22.
So disappointing since I’ve been a loyal customer since the Covid pandemic started.

Months without resolving anything.
A £9 debit was incorrectly applied to my account.
UE are blaming this on a chargeback from my bank, obviously this is impossible as UE have never had my bank details and this was a paypal transaction. UE have provided no proof whatsoever and I have provided proof the imaginary £9 never occurred through order details paypal statements in multiple FB chat messages which are now being completely ignored as it falls outside the support droid script.
UE are impossible to phone without a current order and obviously I cannot place an order due to the state UE have left the account in with a £9 debit.
So basically UE owe me £9 to pay their own debt caused by a mistake on their system which they can provide no proof of whatsoever. I have been trying to resolve this for months with no luck.
Please don't tell me to provide order and phone number etc, you already have it multiple times in FB messages. Please just actually read the messages and escalate to a manager to fix it.
Firstly I have a disability but because of past issues, I make sure I put my shoes on in case there is an issue with my delivery
2 nights in a row when drivers used the 5 minute timer even though I was messaging them and they responded

This even happened with priority delivery
There are some lovely delivery people that are let down by these lazy people
Last night the rider, rode bike and then refused to bring my food upstairs because of sudden arthritis
I got down quickly, dangerous for me and he was yelling through the courtyard
I opened the gate and took order and walked away
UberEats used stock standard response which didn’t help me
Can’t even call them
Tonight driver came in to courtyard and bag was ripped like I said and I called restaurant before and after
Spoke with manager who said bag was not like that when it left

It was my second day sick of COVID when I ordered soup that I desperately needed. I specified the name of my apartment complex and which floor I am at along with my complete address. The driver did not attempt to contact me directly and simply left the food at a wrong apartment complex. Within 10 minutes, I tried reporting that the order did not arrive, but the system kept on showing "Something went wrong. Please try again. Sorry an error had occured but we have been notified". I tried four times but kept on getting the same message. 3 days later, I tried again. This time, I managed to go thru the process without any system failure. To my dismay, the chat line rep simply dismissed my request and said that I failed to report within 48 hours. I submitted photos of the wrong apartment where they left my food and the "Error that Occured" message that I screenshot and he simply ended the chat and saying it isnt fair for the Merchant to refund me as I waited too long to report it. Here I was with COVID and donated $35 to someone else who probably threw the food away. This is so UNFAIR and I want my money back!!!!! UBER EATS, IF YOU ARE READING THIS! I ordered food through the Uber Eat app and the rider (name Hafez Saleh) could not find the door to my apartment. I messaged him with instructions but was ignored, called him many time but couldn't hear him as the line was very bad, and suddenly got a message that the order has been delivered when it's not! When I contacted Uber Eat, they refuse to give me a refund as it was recorded as delivered. They blame me for not being attentive to the phone when I have clearly given the intructions and tried to contact the driver many times. They did not even bother to check the previous messages. I will report this incidence as a scam with my credit card and hopefully the transaction will be blocked. Its against customer rights to charge people with items they never received. For those who making orders, be very carefull as they will charge you regardless if you receive the item or not. Make sure to make screenshots of the messages as it will be deleted once the driver record it as delivered. The customer servive will not help you.
The rider left the order in front of some random door, send a picture, and record it as delivered (picture attached). And Uber eat asked me to pay for it!
Over the past week I’ve ordered from McDonald’s on kings wood roundabout in hull my first issue was a missing item from my order they refunded me £2 for it as it was a chicken burger then I ordered today 03/07/2022 I order two kids happy meals my order comes and I open up to find no happy meals just the drinks I report this to Uber and try to contact McDonald’s themselves only to be refunded 30p so no idea where my food actually went I then had to borrow money to re order as it was my children’s food that was missing for it to be delivered but at first I was only handed one bag which contained the drinks until I mentioned to the driver a hour earlier my order never came only the drinks for her to respond with ‘oh I have another bag’ which had my food in it so she had no intention of handing me food same as the previous person. That is beyond the joke as it was my children’s food so rather McDonald’s are messing up or the drivers are taking the food.
I have had ridiculous issues with Uber Eats and today I decided never to use them personally or with my business again. I tried ordering today from wings n things despite my last order missing food and a hair in it. Things happen. I order fries, boneless wings and bone in Wings. They call me to let me know they don’t have regular wings (odd for an actual wings place) and got me to agree to boneless despite not really caring for them. I specifically said I would accept them as long as they please don’t forget the celery this time and they said it would be in there. Get the order. Surprise…no celery in either order, fries freezing cold and UE did NOT adjust my bone in to boneless as bone in are far more expensive. So I tried chat. Wouldn’t do anything.. said “sorry you had trouble”. So I call in. They said they couldn’t do a return. So I said that’s fine but deliver the rest of the food missing/cold and credit me the money they overcharged me for as well. They refused to deliver it and then refused to credit me the money ThEY overcharged me or for any missing items and inedible food. He said he spoke to a supervisor but when I asked to that supervisor I was told one wasn’t available and would have to call me back within 24 hours. I made it clear they frauded me by not adjusting the price they overcharged and by not bringing me my full order and not refunding that as well. I asked for it all to be delivered and they refused. They refused to bring me food that I ordered and did not get. Crazy! They also refused to refund me when they knowingly charged me more for a product they substituted. So basically I paid 39.00 for 35 nuggets. Fries got fed to the dogs since they were cold. Feels seriously like a fraudulent company. Check your orders and check your receipts because Iber Eats is scanning people. Stick to Doir Dash or a credible service who cares about its customers to not overcharged them and not tell them “too bad” for missing items. Seriously seriously livid with this company. My business orders thousands a year with them and will no longer be doing so. They are scammers.
When Uber Eats came to the market, it was a good app to use even when it had some bugs. After few years it started getting worse. Firstly, you can see a 25% price increase for no reason - restaurants charge you more if you order from Uber Eats when Uber includes service and delivery fee. Secondly, the so called "real-time" map is not working properly from the beginning, you never know where your food is until you close and open the app - and you need to do it every single time to receive an update. Finally, the communication with the driver is the most annoying part - you cannot have a proper call with the driver if something is going wrong because in-app chat is the main way to communicate - if a driver have no idea how to find you, you cannot just call them because you need to request a call that doesn't go through most of the time.
Also, there is no guarantee that your order will be delivered. I had incidents when my food was delivered to a wrong address, or left in the lobby because the driver did not want to come up even though it was a delivery to the door or was even left somewhere near the building because the driver was not able to find an entrance to the building.
So be cautions ordering anything from the app.
I work for Ubber Eats and I just had a very inhuman experience with them. Live is not easy for so many but they are trying. Ubber Eats delivery has been an option to help us with our lives. Ubber Eats does background checks from time to time and they decided to do it in a very difficult time. I had no idea that was coming so to my surprise I tried working but when I open the application it would not let me go online. I called them to beg them to speed up the process because I really wanted to work on the weekend. They kept telling you case has been escalated, and every time I called they will say the same thing. They will make believe that they were doing something to help when in reality they were doing nothing and I still need to wait those 3-5 business days. I called for the last time Friday at 6 pm and I asked the customer service representative to tell the truth and to not keep telling that it has been escalated. I said to her that I really needed to work. She said that she was not able to give a straight answer and that she will not argue with me. We all know customer service does not work on weekends. This is how I know they were lying to me. Honesty is first on any situation. My heart dropped and my live just got more difficult. Thanks Ubber Eats. Background checks can be done while letting people work, a 5 year old will know that. I have been working for Ubber for 5 years already and everything is the same.
We ordered from Uber Eats first time ever. We order an Indian meal from Spice up in Preston. The estimate time of arrival was 19:00 to 19:20 (having ordered at 18:00). Around 19:15 we had a called from the shop in Preston ( though strangely enough the caller was in Auckland Bishop). We were told that would take 2-3 hours to get our food. We heard excuses from being massive traffic to Blackpool (distance from our house 4 miles from an A road) to inviting me to go pick the food an offering me something free because he was on his own on the shop. It all sound like excuses so I requested a cancellation and refund based on the inability to comply with the service I just paid for. The shop refused stating that I would have to take it with Uber Eats. Now this is we’re your realisation that Uber is a con comes to you. We went through the app to realise that nowhere is a request for refunding and neither there is a customer service number. We had to do some online searching to get a number. Once we contacted, a lady which by the sounds of the background noise was at home, tried several times to point me towards the app, which I refused knowing I would get nowhere doing that. She tried 3 times to contact the shop and reported that shop was to busy to discuss this matter. I requested a cancellation and refund which she told me at first that she couldn’t do. Later in the chat she suddenly was able to cancel but told us that we would have to write to the Uber admin to explained that we wanted a refund. Of course, we realised she wasn’t going to help so she cancelled the order forcing us to loose our money but under the promise that by writing we probably get our refund. Same evening, we managed to find a link that enabled us to write this event and to politely ask for our money back. Today I got a non reply back message stating that the link is only for drivers or shops hence no to use it. Since we have sown more than one hour and let me assure you that should you be unhappy and in need of your money, there is absolutely no way to achieve that. We intend to report this matter to trading standards as it seem a legally looped system device to ensure the customers gets nowhere. However, times are tough for everyone and more than ever, things are harder for crooks like this taking your money then making some excuse not to deliver and not to return your money. Sincerely and without any anterior motive other than warning other hardworking people, beware of Spice Up Indian in Preston. They don’t deliver and won’t do the right thing and refund you. As for Uber, contrastingly from Just Eat, fails to respond and protect your interest when things go wrong. That’s exactly what they should be doing. As the intermediary between you and the restaurant, they should assume responsibility to get your money back. Clearly not their policy. So unless you willing to part your money and take your chances, I would refrain from using this con artist.
It's frustrating to be on the app from 7am in the morning to 3am the next morning and sometimes only make enough for gas, maybe smokes and something to eat. Customer service can be friendly but impatient and not fully understanding of what your issue is if you have one. My account is restricted to Philadelphia and nj when I'm never really there. And no matter how many times I've spoken to someone to have my account unrestricted from any city and to have it set to Pennsylvania period I get more issues. Then there's the issue of my driver rating never going up. Uber claims that the driver is rated based on there last 100 deliveries. However I have over 1100 deliveries and my rating is still at 96 percent from when I first started driving for Uber. So my rating never goes up but it can definitely go down. The other issue with Uber is they love giving promotions and quest for rides only drivers. Well, I'm a food delivery driver and haven't received any promotions or quest for food deliver drivers since my first 2 or 3 months of driving for Uber and definitely don't appreciate receiving promotions and quest for rides only drivers all the time. "Uber needs to do better." Noone could possibly survive off of driving for Uber. Make any type of living or anything of the sorts. It's sad to be doing this so long or even for a short time and make no real gains from it. I mean for God sakes Uber only pays things 2 and 3 dollars sometimes for driving 10 miles sometimes. Then if you get a poor review you can't see it, respond to it to say what happened or anything. Not sure how it goes for Uber driver that drives people but eats needs to be a lot better
Horrific. Patient and do not angry easily but this situation........I placed an order. After 2 hours looked like no one was picking up my order. So... I called the place and mind you this is not a restaurant. They said no, no one has showed up to get your order. You should cancel and call us back and WE will have someone here deliver it to you. So I canceled on the app but it said I would still be charged a cancelation fee . I didn't understand so I went to ask for a receipt so I had something to go by. It said you will get a receipt in a FEW DAYS. When I did it said no
refund. So I Googled the number and called uber eats. The lady said I am sorry you will have money in back in 3- 5 days. 5 days later still no money in my account. I called today again. Lady with same accent goes how did this happen and after I told her again same story as with last lady she goes well lady made a mistake you will now have money back. I said so another 3-5 days? She said yes. Lets see if it happens.
I recently ordered a food delivery for $52 and noticed that I was charged a $7.27 Service charge which is on top of taxes, delivery charge, and tip. I thought 14% service charge is ridiculous and can't be right so I contacted them. Well, it turns out that it's normal and the Uber Eats support person informed me:
"Please note, in most U.S markets, service fees are equal to 15% of an order’s subtotal with a $2.50 minimum and $4.50 max. In Texas, the service fee is 15% of the order with a $2.50 minimum and no maximum. In California the service fee is 15% of the order with a $3 minimum and no maximum. In Canada, it is 10% of the order's subtotal with a minimum service fee of $2.00 and maximum service fee of $4.00. This fee does not apply to restaurants/stores that deliver their own orders."
In other words, Uber Eats thinks it's reasonable to expect customers to pay 35-45% in fees/taxes/tips on top of their inflated prices. I guess I'll be using a lot less Uber Eats going forward and I recommend everyone else do the same as well.
I received a promotional code from UberEats in my email. I have never used the service before so I decided to use it for dinner last night. I ordered the food, put the promo code in (it stated the code was applied). I go to pick up my food and I was charged the full amount. I contacted UberEats and was told I would get a refund but I have to send them a screenshot of the email. I could not get the image to copy in the chat box (which they probably knew it couldn't be done). I requested an email to send the screenshot to and was hit with a response to say they are not going to refund the money because the food wasn't delivered. The promo did not specify that it had to be delivered. I will never use their service again! It's sad that the quality of service and honesty as far as consumer rights and service has gone down the drain. I am deleting their app and wish they would stop sending me emails. Nothing good to say about them!
Me and my boyfriend noticed a pattern of poor support and customer service in the last 8 months.
First of all, it takes a lot of time to even get the orders delivered.
Second of all, it happened often to have our drivers changed multiple times resulting in an immense delay of our order.
Third of all, if you have any problem and try asking for help in the “Help” section, then you are completely out of control. For example, I ordered from KFC today and the drivers allocated to me were changed 3 times. After 1h30min I wanted to cancel my order but I couldn’t because there was no option like this. The only option I could choose was “my order is late” and then it would show “our drivers are trying their best…”. At the end of the page it would ask you if “can we help with anything else?”. If you would press “yes” the app would take you back to the useless default options. After 2h of waiting my order was cancelled due to the delay in delivery. Other example would be the “live” (because it was the robot answering) chat about a wrong order that I received. I did not get my money back and I couldn’t get to talk to a real person.
I am very disappointed in Uber Eats service! The “Help” section is useless and it should be changed immediately! Moreover, there should be a proper live chat where there are actual people capable of helping the customers!
Hopefully someone from the Uber company will see this and improve immediately the service.
By far the worst food delivery service I have ever used. I used them recently because I got a $20 off coupon (which sounded like a great deal for a date night at home). I placed my order around 2:25. It was a semi-large order so I didn't mind the 3:15 'Latest Expected Delivery' time (as I had ordered it early knowing it might take longer). However, there were multiple complications getting the food delivered and it ended up arriving at 3:45. A half hour over the 'latest expectation'. Furthermore, only HALF of my order had been delivered. The tag on the food said it had been prepared at 2:50. So the food had been sitting out for almost an entire hour and they forgot half of the order. Naturally I complained to get my money back and I was pleased enough to see that after going through the process they gave me a full refund for the food (not the tip - which is whatever). If this is where things ended I would have been fine and not left this review. However that's not where things ended. Because after UberEATS refunded me the money for my order, the promptly RE-CHARGED me for it. I have since contacted my bank to dispute the charge, but let's be real, I'm not getting my money back, that's not how things work. And clearly that's not how UberEATS works. Please, do not order from UberEATS. Use Doordash, Postmates, or any other service. Uber Eats isn't even a last resort. If I was starving along the side of the road I'd start foraging for grubs and shrubs before ordering through them again. Poor quality of service, shady 'customer support', and flat-out bad business practices.
If I could give 0 stars I would have done it, I had a bad experience with uber that I decided never to use it again as it is not a serious undertaking. My problem was that I forgot to change the address because it is rare that I order uber away from home so, asking for the order for home next time I really forgot, in the uber app you are not asked and it does not show the address until after the payment while deliveroo reports it to you uber you have to enter the settings, amazing! So I changed the address of my order but the deliveroo refused to bring it to me because he said it was too far away, and I asked him the favor if he could take it back, in the restaurant as it is close and I would ask for the money back and he said no and to cancel the order. I feel graduated after 4 years as a consumer and disappointed. I called the costumer service where the guy told me I understand but this is not a problem you have to write by clicking help in the app, but I told him but you are a costume service, the costumer service is used to help customers, he refused Once again. So I wrote through the app and was replied with an automatic reply. I will not use uber eats and uber for the rest of my life.
Don't use Uber eats!! I used them for the second time ever yesterday. I scheduled my delivery between 6:45-7:15pm. The driver picked up my food around 6:30. The distance to the restaurant can be up to a 20 minute drive from my house in rush hour traffic. 7:18pm.... where's my food, man? So I text the driver and ask her just that. She waited 3 minutes before replying then replied with, I'm almost there. Ok. I'll give her 5 more minutes. I check her location on the map in the app as I had been doing since they notified me that my food was picked up, she sat in one spot, 5 minutes away from me for 14 minutes. 14 minutes!! 7:23 pm my UberEATS driver is riding around with my food in the opposite direction of my house!!! So I said ok. I've waited long enough. I told Uber to cancel my order because by the time I get my food, not only will it be cold but it will be an hour old! That's nasty. I'm not eating that. I'm not paying for that. They said we will not charge your card since you still haven't received your food. We won't charge you taxes or other fees either. It does look funny that she keeps changing her arrival time every three minutes. We take this seriously, let us know if any other concerns or questions. We want to get to the root of the issue and fix it so we are going to make an incident report so that this situation is documented. (not word for word but pretty close) Other fees includes tip, keep that in mind! So since I was still starving, it's 7:30 pm by this time, I went to the restaurant, the same restaurant my UberEATS driver was picking up my food from, drove across town to take Mike his dinner, hung out for a bit and came back home in less time than it took for this driver to pick up my food from 10 minutes away!!! I get home and the order I cancelled at least an hour before was on my doorstep. I took a picture. I check the arrival time and it was delivered at 7:42 pm. I got home at 8:30 pm. I come inside and check my UberEATS app. It says I was charged for this order. Contacted them again told them their customer service agent cancelled this order because of suspicious driver activity. I'm not paying for her to drive around with my food for an hour! I was told I wouldn't be charged. She says that because my order was delivered, I have to pay for it. I came back with, No. Absolutely not. Your customer service agent cancelled this order, it arrived 30 minutes after it was cancelled. You have the incident report in your system. UberEATS says, ok we'll give you your money back and give you Uber cash and discounts. I reply, I just want my money. I wait and check my bank account. They still charged me for the driver's tip! I once again requested my money back to which they said they already sent my money back. I said except for the tip that I'm not paying for terrible service. She does not deserve a tip. No communication with me at all, late with my food so of course it's cold. I'm not a satisfied customer. I'm not paying her a tip. Refund my tip. I get a reply saying we already paid her the tip since did deliver the food to you. Here's the amount of the tip back in Uber cash. Omg!!! I do not tip for terrible service!!! If you're great, you get a great tip. If you're terrible, work harder to earn a tip next time, there's your tip. How will she ever learn? It's like giving everyone a trophy so the crybabies won't get fussy. I should not have to go through things like this. This is a daily occurrence in this area. There's a huge amount of ignorance among the people here because the school system in this county has failed it's children. Don't use UberEATS they expect you to pay for and accept bad service. Drivers are unreliable. Food always late and cold. That’s if it ever even arrives. 50/50 chance. Customer service is horrific.
I forgot why I stopped using Uber eats. I was reminded why last night. I placed an order for some fried fish about 2 miles from me around 7:30 PM. I frequent this fishmarket and they usually have my food ready in no more than 10 minutes. Uber eats assigned a driver to pick it but not until about 750pm. About 10 minutes later I noticed the app say it was looking for a new driver. I waited about another 10 minutes and decided to call the restaurant to see if my food was ready.
Not only was it ready but the man said it has been ready and sitting for quite some time. He even said he recommended not to use Uber eats because this is a frequent occurrence with them. He recommended I use DoorDash because they usually don’t have this issue.
After I hung up the phone I reflected on why I stopped using Uber eats to begin with and this was the exact reason. This happened multiple times and I was basically just told sorry we can’t do anything for you but here’s a five dollar credit for your terrible experience.
I tried to cancel the order but Ubereats said it was still going to charge me anyway. What a joke. I reached out to Uber eats and went through the dumb long process of getting someone on chat. Mind you they don’t make it easy to figure out how to get someone on chat. You basically have to manipulate the app. Long story short they told me to suck it and gave me six dollars of credit to use in the future. I can tell you right now I won’t be using that six dollars. We use delivery services quite often and there are other options so I’ll just stick with those.
Horrible customer service. I had ordered something for today “mother’s day” and three people attempted to pick it up. Both stating they ran out of wings and closed at 7:30. Which is fine. But none of them wanted to help with canceling the order. And I couldn’t cancel it because it said someone was on the way and if I canceled I would be charged. They all just stated that they are canceling the driving. So That’s why more and more people attempted to pick it up. I pay the extra monthly fee and feel like I get no use out of it. I couldn’t get a hold of them through the app. It said 10+ people ahead of you. I tried for 30-45 minutes. I finally decided to call them and the lady on the phone didn’t seem like she cared at all. Never once said sorry. Just kept saying anything else. I plan to cancel my membership and be done. It’s happened more then just once and I’m sick and tired of being upset every time. I ended up using DoorDash tonight and told them what happened and they even moved my delivery up for me even on a busy night like tonight. Now that’s true customer service. She was very nice lady to and said this happens very often.
