For an insurance company they are probably relatively good and their price beat everyone else hands down at renewal by about £40. However, I renewed a month before I needed to, the car broke 2 weeks later and so I didn't need the insurance, but when I cancelled (before the policy started) I was charged a cancellation fee. Yes, that was all in the small print etc my fault for not reading the 52 pages of policy details, but it just annoyed me a bit. So I thought I'd talk to someone, but you can't, they don't have people you can talk to. They have automated bots that direct you to the website or your policy docs, they have a chatbot that is a bit better, but basically no human contact. And the bots advice was pay extra to change your details and keep something you don't need for a few weeks (til you get a new car) so you don't have to pay a cancellation fee!
So if you're shy or dislike people and want to do everything remotely you will love Yoga Insurance, but if you want service with a smile or even just a human touch, please go elsewhere. Needless to say I am desperately hoping that I don't need to claim or change anything this year and will not be renewing with them next year.
It started off well, fair price, reasonable excess amounts and good reviews, it all looked promising. The problem came when I made a claim (first in 20 odd years). You can't get to speak to anyone in Yoga, it is all outsourced to a third party. Minor bump on Feb, now Aug and still ongoing. Third party have just outsourced to solicitors. This was a very minor bump, no panel damage, just some paint (incidentally garage scraped car, but it is on me to resolve with them). Yoga have also just advised they are not prepared to insure me once policy comes to an end, presumably because there is a claim outstanding (although I do not believe I am at fault). So no, there is no way I could recommend them. Caveat emptor.
I managed to get insurance with Yoga for less than my previous insurer quoted. The website was very easy to use and it didn't take long, even after going through all the necessary steps. The proof of an insurance company's reputation though is when anyone has to actually make a claim and how easily it is to actually speak to someone and and how quickly it is dealt with. I hope no one has to go through this but this is the real crux to give reviews. My previous insurers lost my custom because they did not answer the phone and I hung up after 15 minutes of holding. I haven't actually spoken to anyone from Yoga so I cannot comment on how good their customer service is yet.
Trying to insure my car. Had to correct the start date, which I did after I’d checked details and realised date was wrong. Suddenly it had accepted payment for a different date and now won’t accept my password request and I can’t get into portal to change payment and details. I expect you’ve now taken payment for this insurance and it’s incorrect! This needs to be put right and I can’t do it without help. Don’t tell me to go to chat bot, useless thing! You need to contact me tomorrow. This is a disgrace.
Documents arrived quickly via email, good online portal to review/ amend without having to wait in a call queue. Price was £150 LOWER than my previous insurer, with more benefits! Haven’t had to refund / return yet.
Would be good to be able to set my own username as the one supplied is not easy to remember and so need to keep finding original confirmation email to remind what it is / copy & paste into relevant section.
I will never ever use this company again. In a time of deep stress an incorrect quote was used from a comparison website which I noticed within 5-10 minutes of receiving my policy documents. I tried to explain what had happened and wanted to cancel the policy under the 14 day cooling off period until my head was in a better place as I still had 9 days until I needed the policy to start. I was told if I cancelled the policy I would have to pay £49.99. To make the amendment needed which was to have my daughter on the policy cost me another £70. I know very well that when I was doing the searches on the comparison websites which did include my daughter the quotes were no where near as much as I was charged. They had me over a barrel I couldn’t cancel so they could charge an extortionate amount to add the change. I am stuck with this company for another year unfortunately but I would never ever use them again and recommend that no one else does either unless they want to lose money.
Arranged all online paid first instalment, get an email saying they are cancelling my insurance!!! Tried to find a contact number to call … nothing!! Did what they said and portal wouldn’t let me update bank details !! Tried “live chat” so so so slow it actually kicked me out because they took ages to respond, finally they said it’s been updated and sent an email to to say all is good again, and today hey a letter saying they are cancelling my insurance!!!!
Not a happy customer !! I am new business for them and get treated so badly
Bit of smoke and mirrors went easily on line then you get to the end they tell you "youre not insured for 'uninsured drivers' itll cost £20+ to cover!!" Ok it didnt say you would be it just stated its there . .. fine i accept that so i paid.
Then the docs arrive for review or keeping i note an error by me but not seen until after i had paid! Work status was wrong for the wife so i quickly went on line to correct. . caching! Cost me a tenner+!!! Just saying so not that cheap at the end of the day
Every year i get up to date quote’s for my car insurance.
Last year i compared and Yoga came out best value, i recieved one call from them at the time of taking payment and asked if i wished to auto renew? I declined but advised they could send a quote out.
I compared my prices online as usual, after making changes to this years insurance for quotes, and purchased my policy from Tesco’s.
I have been horrified to learn that Yoga have intentions to auto renew my insurance this year as they have kept bank details from previous year? Without authority? The fact that you do not have a telephone to talk about issues allows these sort of problems to arise.
This puts me off using Yoga in future regardless of prices.
I cannot comment on service if you ever needed to claim, but i have lost faith in dealing with them
I had never heard of you before I used Confused.com to search for a car insurance quote. This is the first time I have ever used an online site and indeed moved forward with an online quote. My experience was very satisfying as I got to the end and had insured my car successfully. All the paperwork came via email and the only issue I had was setting up the mobile app/ online account as it required a password which was not requested during the original set up process but a quick online chat sorted that out very quickly. I also saved massively on my annual quote which makes the process even more satisfying
I found Yoga when it came up top insurance quote (and cheapest) on two of the major comparison sites. Further the package was good as it had extra insurances as standard included in the price - unlike other insurers who had similar prices but did not include all the extra cover such as breakdown, legal, protected no claims etc.(unless you added them and paid through the nose!) Really straight forward website too. All done online and confirmation and documents were with me in 5 minutes. Excellent service, quality product, great price and ease of use website. Thanks Yoga X
Trying to pay on line was a nightmare. Unable to use my credit card. My bank advised me that your credit card updates have not been undertaken. This meant I had to use my debit card which I did not want to do.
I also had to get help from Martin Lewis website just to get a telephone number to try and get assistance from you . The number they gave me only had has a recording that says you can’t discuss insurance policies which means you can’t actually speak to anyone. I regret having purchased from you as goodness only knows what I’ll face if I need to make a claim. You came up with the cheapest price but it’s now obvious why. Roll on 12 months when I can cancel. In fact, if I can cancel please let me know because I’d rather go elsewhere and certainly won’t be recommending
I signed up to the app in preparation for beginning my fitness programme. I didn’t start it immediately.
I was then charged the same amount I paid £30 a month later to realise this was not a one off payment but a monthly subscription. This was NOT made clear. I then had to cancel the subscription, which means all the time I hadn’t used it was a complete waste of money & had I known this at the beginning then
1) I wouldn’t have signed to a monthly subscription &
2) I would’ve waited until signing up to utilise the time.
This is NOT clear & VERY misleading.
I would avoid this company like the plague, after a small bump they have now taken over two weeks to get absolutely nowhere. Phone calls are taking over a hour, endless promises to follow up are broken and now I am told a company in Southampton ( I live in Worthing) will organise the repair, when I don't know. I could go on and on but I can't wait to get to the end and escalate this to the ombudsman because to top it all they want to charge me an extra £500 because I didn't call it in in time!
Found them through a comparison site. Quick and easy to complete the transaction and was pleased with "upgrades" even though the basic cover is better than most other companies at a much lower price. They even include cover for the voluntary driving work I do 👍.
Only given it 4 stars as I haven't experienced their claims handling, and I hope I never have to.
Customer service is non-existent as it's all online and uses a robotics chat line, which probably explains why they are able to offer cheaper premiums.
Happy with my experience so far- thanks.
Quoted through Compare the Market 4 weeks before renewal date then 4 days later when taking up the quoted price £70 dearer. When on live chat I asked why I was told that unlike other insurers the do more in depth checks !!! I have never had a point on my license, no convictions in 48yrs over 14 yrs NCB. I would love to know what they found !!! Had no problem insuring with with another company through Compare the Market.
I very apprehensively took out a policy with Yoga Insurance having been with the same broker for nearly 15 years. I was fed up of paying a premium given I’m 51, and have been driving 30 years. Yoga was very competitive even though I added gold break down cover as extra, and I’m so glad I did. I broke down on the M4 today which was very scary but they organised recovery and got me back on the road within 90 minutes. I was extremely impressed at how efficient and smooth the process was. I was also extremely impressed with Highways England who acted immediately and slowed the traffic to ensure there was minimal risk. Excellent all round, I would definitely recommend 10/10 :)
Utterly disappointed but then I guess I should have known better in this day and age.
Foolishly paid deposit on 12 monthly instalment plan, but then offered better deal by another insurer who rejigged the price (this in itself is wrong). So, I tried to cancel 30mins after paying deposit with yoga - the deposit money (I checked) had not even left my account - yoga then wanted to charge £49.99 to cancel…. This is all with the 14 day cool ifc period. Wouldn’t match new quote. This would never happen in a shop, you would be fully refunded or price matched. Makes a mockery of ‘14 day cooling off period’. The £49.99 is chargeable as soon as to comit, so absolutely make sure this is the policy you want.
Car insurance is such a scam. No ethics or morals it seems.
I purchased Yoga insurance as on comparison sites it was coming out at around £140 less than my renewal from another company. I went through the process but when I went to buy, Yoga were charging me £20 more than what was quoted on the comparison site for some reason. I still went with Yoga as it's a massive saving from my renewal quote however! My insurance was sorted quickly and efficiently plus I got added breakdown cover for free too!
Although i didnt want comprehensive insurance that i stated on the compare site that directed me to yoga (which is all yoga do for vehicle insurance) the price yoga gave was almost £100 cheaper than a third party fire and theft qoute from my existing insurer ,the set up is easy and the online chat help (shanice) was excellent and the one issue i had was dealt with immediately and politely ,all in all an excellent transaction with yoga .
