They take your orders but don't fulfill it
1800lighting just want to draw you to their website even though they do not have the stocks to fulfill your orders. They want you at their website so that you can purchase other items. They let you wait and wait and wait and after repeated calls, they finally admitted that they do not have the stock.

Horrible Experience!
Absolutely horrible experience with this company. The first light I ordered never arrived, 1800lighting said it was backordered and kept pushing back the delivery dates. I decided to cancel this and find another light that arrived to my house completely shattered. I spent two days on the phone trying to get a replacement item shipped from their warehouse. I was told by one agent that the replacement was on the way, another agent they would only issue a refund, and another who said the light was now out of stock and that I'd have to find a new light. I ended up having file a dispute with my credit card company to get a refund. Absolutely terrible company, definitely avoid using them for any lighting needs!

DITTO: Run-around on returns
1800lighting deceptively write "Easy Returns" on all product pages & through checkout, but what they don't tell you is that this is a sleazy button that when clicked provides "fine print" if it can be returned. The item-specific information is clearly hidden away on purpose, instead of being in the listing. I found out the hard way trying to return a lamp that was the wrong size. When they finally accepted the return, it took 3 weeks after their receipt of the item to refund my money!

Don't buy from this company!
Recently I have purchased 3 very expensive pendant lights on line, but due to the poorly packaged one of the glass was broken when arrived. I have been contacting and emailed their customer service all I got back was wait Or transfer your call to an voicemail, It has been 8 days since, very terrible customer service. Go somewhere else to shop, this company is totally rude!

Poor design
Purchased two lamps which arrived without a problem. We did not like one of them and returned it. We loved the other one so much that we were going to purchase another one. However, after throwing out the packaging, we put in the light bulbs and realized that the lamp shade is too shallow and the lightbulb glares in your eyes if you sit anywhere in the room. Very unfortunate design. We were unable to return it because we had destroyed the packaging. I put a review on their website and 1800lighting deleted it! The deleting of my review definitely lowers their rating.

Completely misleading website
Website has misleading ship times!

We canceled our order with another company who sold the same lights, because this site said the items will ship in 2 days. That was 6 weeks ago. Called yesterday, didnt get a call back. Their customer service is horrible. Super frustrating... I'd leave 0 stars if that were possible!

He negotiated a better price for the product I was interested in and even managed to arrange for a return for a product we purchased that wasn't quite right for our installation. I highly recommend Capitol Lighting and I pass along my praise and sincere gratitude to your excellent representative Tyler.

Because the return process is a joke. 1800lighting boast "easy returns" on their site, but that couldn't be further from the truth. They'll hit you with a restocking fee, then you have to wait for the manufacturer, not the retailer, to approve the credit depending on the condition of your item. I sent something back the day after I received it, in perfect condition, and two weeks later, still waiting for the "partial" refund. I've been on the phone with them three times, and they don't reply to emails... Good luck!

Had to cancel an order due to supply chain issues. 1800lighting were quick to cancel no questions asked. Then found another light fixture that would work. Had several questions. Gladys Nunez, service rep, has been very quick to respond every time. Haven't received new fixture yet, but so far, so good!

For the most part, I work Gladys Nunez. I am moving to a new house and have made many purchases. Glady's was the 1st agent I worked with and she is very professional and is always available to help me when I ask for her help. She has even taken time during her time off to respond back to on any questions I may have. I have made many purchases with her and do not wish to work with anyone else. She has been an exceptional agent. I recommended my girlfriend to her who is also building a house.

I have no doubt my friend will not be disappointed working with her. I recommend her to anyone. Kuddos to one of the great agents on your staff.

I was offered a 20% discount to share my email and...
I was offered a 20% discount to share my email and phone number. After I made my order I was not able to get the 20% off since the items were on sale, discounted by 15%. If you are not o\honoring the 20% off on items on sale, you should state that when you offer it. I was very disappointed with that.

I ordered many chandeliers from here and Gladys in customer service is the best she always updates me on my orders and helps me finding products and checks to ensure I get the best pricing. She is awesome. I love all my chandeliers 1800lighting are packed perfectly and the shipping dates are normally ahead of schedule.

No help with a special order
I needed a replacement piece of glass and 1800lighting told me that that color can't be sold if I had the color of chandelier I had. I moved into a new house and I guess the old owners had something special. They had two different colored glass pieces in the chandlelier. I just wanted them all to match but they said they could not sell me the color that was installed in my house. Just weird and rude service.

Thanks for the extra discount on a hard-to-find item. The Butler step stool with the shell motif on the top step is very hard to find... easy to find Butler's stool without the shell motif, but that's not what I was looking for, and I found it on your website!

Mixed Feelings
Had a positive experience using the website. Easy to navigate and enjoyed the huge selection and sales prices! However, customer service was abysmal! I don't know if it was because of Covid shortage of personnel or the Black Friday sales volume this company had, but I did not receive any tracking information, nor could I even locate my orders (4 items) on the website. Using the online chat feature and trying the 800 number were totally fruitless, frustrating endeavors. Delivery took a couple weeks, but all items finally arrived in excellent condition and my purchases met my expectations. Probably would give the company another try because 1800lighting definitely have the selection and best prices.

Horrible service! Long wait times on chat and totally unable to reach through the toll free number. No tracking information. Wasn't able to even locate my orders on their website!

The website shopping is fine
The website shopping is fine. However, my visit to the Paramus location was not great. I went in looking for bathroom lighting, and was in the store for at least 45 minutes to an hour. Not one salesperson approached me to see if I needed help. As the owner of a tile and bath shop in NY, I was unimpressed with the lack of service.

They did not publish my review of a light I purchased.
I ordered a light from them. My husband who is very handy and has installed all our lighting, was installing their light and it cracked. The glass was too thin for the amount of pressure required to screw it into the base. I called the company who stated it arrived in an unbroken condition, but I could try to submit a claim and I had to fill out a form and wait to see what 1800lighting said. I decided not to do it because it did arrive in perfect condition. So all I did, was write a review that the glass broke when my husband screwed it to the ceiling and would not recommend the light. I did not break any guidelines. I went back to look to see if they published my review and they did not. Only positive reviews are listed.

The website is well organized and easy to navigate. The images of the products are good. I did wish there were more images showing discrete measurements on certain lights, e.g. the specific measurements of the wall-mounted plate for a wall-mount light sconce.

I've bought 90%+ of the lighting for my home remodel...
I've bought 90%+ of the lighting for my home remodel through Capitol Lighting. As can be expected when remodeling (never mind remodeling during COVID) availability and returning items are incredibly important. Each interaction I've had with the company, from sales to the returns team has been great. Polite, professional and knowledgeable staff, ready to help.

Don't buy from this place please
Don't buy from this place please. I bought a $2,750 ceiling light and after 13 months the light is defected, 2 of the metal wire was broke and fall, half is still hanging on the ceiling. Try to contact them for help with order parts and look like 1800lighting don't want to help because of little thing like this. And they told me to call direct to the factory to order and i did, but the factory said they don't sale for individual customers, i have to order thru the company that bought from and i got back to them and asked for their help but no one answered. Very disappointed for their service.

Deplorable Customer Service
Do not shop with this company! The have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Order 2 front door lights and within 6 months one stopped working. Waited for an hour to get through to someone in Customer Service who issued a ticket. Have been waiting for 6 WEEKS and still not response at all. Have sent numerous email and still no response. Terrible company!

After a very unsatisfactory experience with another online retailer on the same product, I had a very direct question and the Capitol agent regarding the company's quality control on imported products (prior to shipping on to a customer. Gladys not only answered my question directly but offered a discount on my order as well. Very impressed with Capitol so far. Thank you...

Great Lighting!
We are in the process of building a house and have been extremely pleased with the fixtures ordered. The quality of the fixtures seem to be very high and the pricing seems to be competitive. Shipping is fast, fast fast and the customer service personnel have been super nice, informed and customer oriented. I'm very pleased with 1800Lighting and look forward to ordering a few more pieces from them in the future! Overall a positive experience!

Had to reorder a lantern in a larger size. My customer service rep issued a return receipt and got the replacement lantern on order immediately. I received the larger lantern and the credit within only a few days. Tyler (my rep) was nice, accommodating and the whole process was just easy and simple.

I wanted to find low-engery lighting for my kitchen so looked on 1800lighting because I think I saw an ad for them on Google. Overall it was a good experience. Customer service was friendly, the product came as promised, and I'd buy from them again. I'm not 100% if 1800lighting are the cheapest around, but I think they are at the very least competitive with other majoy online lighing companies.

Very easy to use website
Very easy to use website. Found my product I wanted via Google. The discount code wasn't working so I used the chat as suggested and Armando immediately helped me with great customer service. I received my email quote and easily made my account and purchased right away. I look forward to using 1800Lighting again!

Absolutely ZERO Customer Service - DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!
I purchased 3 rather expensive kitchen pendant lights from 1800Lighting. After the lights were installed, I noticed one of the globes had a chip. I called the company and was told someone would call me back - which 1800lighting didn't. I then wrote an email explaining again that I would like to purchase a replacement globe. I finally received a poorly worded email from someone who "said" they were going to help. They wanted me to send pictures etc - which I did. I have never heard back from anyone. Very frustrating!

Capital Thea Linear Light
I had the electrician install my new light this week. The interior of the cage hangs crooked. The electrician said the cage was not welded straight. There was nothing he could do to make it hang straight. I took pictures and sent them to customer service. I am waiting to see what 1800lighting will do to correct this.

I sent them pictures and I am waiting to hear back from them. So I really cannot give them a rating yet.

Shop somewhere else
Do not order from this site! The merchandise is not what it seems and when you go to return it, 1800lighting charge shipping and a restocking fee! Very deceptive! It says specifically you will be refunded the total amount minus shipping... then about 10 paragraphs later they say that some of their suppliers charge a restocking fee. They don't mention this until very end of the return policy, way after the 3 steps to an "easy return"

I was required to sign up to be eligible for a discount...
I was required to sign up to be eligible for a discount and then when i applied that code the product I selected wasn't eligible. Now I have to go through the lengthy process of removing myself from promotional emails and text messages. I would be a repeat customer if I didn't have to go through this headache. And then below I have to sign up for email confirmation of my order... be better business stewards in this area.

Avoid 1800Lighting! Terrible company in terms of reliability and customer service.
1800lighting sent a lamp with missing parts (the one needed to plug it in). Their sales person never called me back. Their customer person blamed it on the manufacturer, then acknowledged that this happens often and promised to get back to me within 3-5 days... and I never heard from them. Now they are not answering emails or returning calls. I will NEVER turn to them for any product again.
