Failed in every way
Tried to order 1 light on their web site and it wouldn't let me submit the order. After several tries I clicked on their "Chat" button. I explained what happened and got 2 canned replies, but no live person. After half an hour I gave up, said "Never mind" and ordered it somewhere else. Later in the day I checked E-mail and saw an order confirmation! I E-mailed them right back and explained everything again, asking them to cancel the order. The next morning I got an E-mail that had no message in it. I replied and told them their site and E-mail wasn't working. In the afternoon I got a message saying 1800lighting got my message to cancel the order, but if it had shipped from the manufacturer I was going to be billed for shipping and restocking. I called the 800 number and asked to talk to a supervisor. "Armando" said he was a supervisor, so I explained the situation to him. He said I "should have checked E-mail before ordering it from someone else." Told him I didn't check E-mail for confirmation of an order that wouldn't complete, and had no reason to believe it had. Told him I couldn't believe they would even consider billing someone for shipping and restocking of an order that wouldn't go through, chat didn't work, that had been cancelled within a couple hours. Their online ordering, "chat" system, and customer service all FAILED MISERABLY.

I have waited three months for a (very expensive) chandelier to arrive at no avail, and several promises to deliver, My bank account has been charge (charged & credited) several times, When I call customer service, 1800lighting bump the delivery date each month... I beginning to suspect they'll take an order appearing as if in stock, only to acquire your e-mail; I receive weekly advertisement for products not related to my paid for order, but nothing regarding my order.

What a mess!
I purchased two small lamps from them - total value $175. One of the boxes had the sound of broken glass so I decided to not open either and just do a return. After several weeks I finally got a return label. Two weeks after confirmed receipt of the return I still don't have a credit. Stay away from this company at all cost! I am glad I didn't spend more. Hopefully my credit card company will back things up.

Ordered 2 sconces originally… picked up two boxes labeled to contain sconce and glass. Contractor now installing… only 1 sconce! Store can't resolve…. So I ordered another one today…the 20% discount code never appeared… I paid $585 vs. the original $465! Seriously?! I expect Capitol Lighting to be better than this.

I love all the options of lighting at better prices than other websites. I just wish there was more coupons available on the lighting that I wanted. Haha. I was going to wait it out until a 20% off came up for the brand I was wanting to purchase. But now there will be a price increase. So I had to jump on it. And I literally waited until the last day before the increase! I am very excited to get the chandelier I have been eyeing for months!

This is a reorder for me
This is a reorder for me. When I checked tracking via FedEx # *******10208402, it showed that the shipping of my order # *******518 had been canceled? Robert Conner, *******182. 2969 Cherry Blossom Loop. Delivery address of order #*******518 was to 3222 Ginger Circle, Orlando, FL 32826. Please advise of the mixup and if my order was credited back to my credit card. Thanks, R Conner

It took many tries to get the promised 20% discount
It took many tries to get the promised 20% discount - each time there was an error message that the promo code did not apply. Then I had to call customer service, but it was after hours (for you), so had to call again the next day. Then had problems again with the code. This is NOT acceptable. Tyler was very helpful on the phone finally

Trouble
I ordered a light that was delivered later than 1800lighting said. It was incomplete and missing parts. I called and was sent a free return label so I could send it back but they deducted nearly $30 for a "restocking fee" which I gather will cover their expenses so they can "sell" it again to another hapless customer.

Beware of open box offer!
I received my Kate spade light today and not only was one of the flowers broken but it is missing a bolt to put it on the light. It's no wonder 1800lighting say non returnable! By open box they mean damaged. The price should have been much less. It is probably useless and was still quite expensive. I wish I would have looked at the bad reviews before ordering g save yourself and don't buy from these crooks.

Good experience
Good experience. I was disappointed the 2 opportunities for a discount were not relevant to my brands purchased: Uttermost and Visual Comfort. I am a first time customer; but did not receive that discount nor the 20% off for signing up for texts. Neither was allowed.

Customer service
The company has the worst customer service I ever was dealing with. I was charged twice for the same thing, difficulty to get refund, have to remind them to solve my issues, no response ( it supposed to be 2 business days, it is 5 and I am still waiting). I would not recommend that Company.

Tyler was a big help. This is not his fault. It would have been nice if the discount I signed up for on the home page" sign up for texts to get 20% off next order" had appeared on the initial order review page. That took about 20 extra minutes to get it fixed.

This website was so easy and straightforward to use
This website was so easy and straightforward to use. I found a table I loved at another website but wasn't even table to check out without calling their customer service... which resulted in a very frustrating phone call. I looked for anywhere else to buy the table, and Capitol Lighting saved the day, and I didn't have to talk to anyone!

My first purchase with Capitol Lighting and so far...
My first purchase with Capitol Lighting and so far 1800lighting have met all of my purchasing needs with satisfaction. They were able to meet my budget where others were not willing to even try there for next time I am looking for any item I will go to capital lighting first and i've suggested this company to all of our friends at the country club! So far great to work with more to come after delivery.

Worst customer service/access/following up and resolution
I have been trying for 3 weeks to resolve an order I have made over 2 months ago. I was told six weeks after order that manufacture cancelled order due to length of time it was out of stock, but I could place a new order. I said I would go elsewhere to get it. Two weeks later, I get an email the item will be shipping in 10 days and my credit card was charged immediately. I contacted customer service both by phone and email to say stop the order or provide a return label. 1800lighting said they would send return label, but they inadvertently sent label for a previous item I had already received and was keeping. So I continued to email and call them to let them know. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get through on the phone, and nobody has replied to my four emails to them.

This has yet to be resolved. With this type of customer service/access/follow-thru, I will NEVER order from them again. I have wasted hours on hold with over two dozen calls.

The promo was a little confusing because I copied the HOLIDAY21 code for 25% off but when I applied it, I only saw 20% because the item was already on sale and not stackable. Didn't expect it to stack but thought the 25% would prevail. But i reached out via livechat and got it resolved easily. Also, when I filtered by color, for black, gold and brass, I got alot of options that weren't any of these but more silver/nickel. Those are the reasons why I am removing 1 star...

Terrible Company! DO NOT BUY FROMT THEM!
Trust me. Pay a little more and buy from a different more reliable company. I placed two orders and after 2 weeks 1800lighting informed me they did not have the items. They had to be special ordered from another vendor and they were now backordered. They gave me a new date and have pushed it back twice already.

It is deceiving that all over the site there is a 20% discount and then the discount doesn't apply to what you are purchasing This has happened several times to me and then I spend time shopping on pother sites that have better pricing. I don't have the time to research a better price!
