Fantastic!
Fantastic! I used to borrow this book from my school Library in Texas *50* years ago. When I left that school, I wanted to keep the book because I loved it SO much, but I left it in the Library! I've found it after all these years, and it is coming to me in the northeast of Scotland, where I now live! Alibris is making a 50-year-old wish come true!

Impossible to find order in my "Orders" screen because it is not logged there! My fault that I did not check the delivery address &change it, but with other sellers you could find the order straight away and amend it, no problem.
Hard to use site to get hold of seller.

What is good, is books are inexpensive and in good condition, and you are not Amazon.

Generally extremely pleased with alibris
Generally extremely pleased with alibris - have ordered numerous books in last few years!

I had to click the Order Now button twice today - I think it was because I had not agreed to cookies - I think there should be an option to disable non-essential cookies - I hope my order is NOT duplicated!

Search is good (better than many of the individual bookseller's own sites), but I found the "move to wishlist" process very laborious (I had to move each one individually), and I found the shipping estimates EXTREMELY opaque. Please show the shipping costs per book/company, so that I can choose which books to remove from my basket without having to add & remove each one by hand & recheck. Selecting books with a value of £40 and then the shipping turned out to be £50 is unreasonable.

Straight forward however would like more information on the shipping.
The dealer Blackwell say standard shipping is free but Alibris charge. Would like to know why. If Blackwell ships the book it appears I am paying for postage already covered. More clarification would be helpful if it means through Alibris the delivery time is quicker hence the charge. Apart from that I am pleased with the user friendly site navigation.

Great Book prices have totally faied me
Great Book prices have totally faied me. Insisting the problems in Australia (? Are to blame and me also for not providing the correct information. Alibris UK are 100% liars. I provided the info TWICE, So, I; ve reordered the boo k for Greener books and hopefully this copy will arrive fairly soon. Grat Book prices can get stuffed PLUS, if the did take the fee i definitely want a full refund. I'm NOT prepared to be messes around by such a disreputable company. You would be best advised to drop them from your list of suppliers. My orde was alleged to have been sent from the UK anyway. No excuses acceptable!

I wanted to pay with PayPal but was unable to
I wanted to pay with PayPal but was unable to. I was also unable to enter my alphanumeric UK postcode despite having chosen the United Kingdom in the country field. If I hadn't really wanted the book and wanted to buy it from this particular seller because Alibris UK are nearby, I would have given up. Eventually, by going via the seller's page, I was able to checkout successfully. No PayPal option, though. A frustrating, user-hostile experience.

I have interest in books written by Inez Ashdown
I have interest in books written by Inez Ashdown. My grandfather was a truck driver for the plantation before his death in 1944. My grandmother then worked as a "Luna" or a field supervisor in the pineapple fields. She was a widow with six children she raised while working a fulltime job. My mother was born in Honolua while living in the plantation housing. I am looking forward to receiving this book and maybe enlighten me to their life living in the plantation. After my mother married my father, Alibris UK lived in the sugar plantation housing in Paia.

Very good, except for one little detail: When I selected the book 'A razor for a goat' to transfer it to the shopping basket, the ALibris site said that it was a 'New' book (which is what I want) but by the time I came to pay for the book the ALibris site was no longer saying what condition the book is in. It better had be a 'New' book!

I am so fed up with websites that change my 'Delivery' or 'Billing' information to something else AFTER I've entered it CORRECTLY. I had to enter details 3-4 times to get both categories (in different countries) to be how Alibris UK needed to be. I AM so sick of taking over an hour to order 2 books. These glitches have happened largely at at Used Book bookstores! What is it? Driving me mad! Next time, I'll pay full price and give my business to Waterstones!

Excellent...
Excellent... my only concern is that the £2.99 shipping from the USA to the UK (which is very reasonable) will either mean that I receive the book sometime in two years time, or else I will end up just getting a message next week saying "Sorry, we actually meant to meant to charge you £XX. XX". In addition, with buying something from so far away, until this book is in my hand I will almost certainly be worrying if my money will go missing!

You advertised a promo code offer saying that I would get £3 off if my order totalled over £25. My order totalled £26.90, but when I tried to apply the promo code to receive my £3 reduction, I was informed that my order was not in fact over £25 and therefore I was not eligible for the promo code offer. I entered it twice but got the same answer each time. Fortunately I wanted the book anyway, but that kind of treatment - it felt close to a swindle - does leave a sour taste in the mouth. AW

Entering credit card number was not as convenient as at some other vendors. It is easier to check typing for errors with the credit card number entered as groups of 4 digits separated by spaces, e.g. 1234 5678 8765 4321. Some vendors put the spaces in for me while I am typing. Your procedure doesn't even let me put them in myself. This is the sort of thing that vendors can and should implement thoughtfully for their customers.

The way that shipping can only be known after you have your whole basket. And so who knows how much each book will cost when you hit the buy button. You need to go back and forth to find out and decide. Full of holes. Unlike ither services like ABE or Amazon of course the latter which I'd prefer not to use.

I have had no problems over the years with Alibris,...
I have had no problems over the years with Alibris, a couple of books have failed to arrive and have been promptly refunded. The only book which was not as described came from the USA and was one of very few copies available so I did not complain. Over the years one gets to know the reliable sellers on the site and I try to limit buying to these. Overall it is a good and reliable service

I do not appreciate that you offer a PayPal payment option but then still require a credit card submission and force payment onto my credit card!

A very dubious business practice that defeats the use use of Palpal while forcing credit card payment only in my view.

This is the second time I have given such feedback. So why bother having a Paypal button at all? It gives me cause not to trust doing business with your company.

Now let's see if I actually receive the books ordered?

I love Alibris!
I love Alibris! I'm from a country in the European Union and Alibris allows me to find affordable English books that I wouldn't be able to find otherwise.
It may be difficult to deliver every order on time due to COVID-19, but Alibris is still client-oriented. I appreciate their effort to keep the good work during this difficult time. Thank you!

I ordered a different edition of this same book from...
I ordered a different edition of this same book from WeBuyBooks a few days back and received a cancellation message since the supplier did not have it in stock. Why didn't Alibris UK simply check to see if they had another edition of the book and propose that book to me instead? It would have been cheaper than having to make a separate order, and it would have saved me the time of doing their work for them.

Wrong book TWICE
My 1st time with Alibris: I bought a book which the description clearly said "language: english". Got a book in German. I returned the item, got a refund. Decided to give them another chance.
2nd time: Bought the same book, this time with another seller from Alibris. Again, the description said "language: English". Received a book in German again. Their lack of disorganization is insane.
After 2 failed purchases I will never again lose my time with Alibris. Never buying again.

It was frustrating to find at least six entries for Hanna Batatu's The Old Social Classes and the Revolutionary Movement in Iraq at less than £7, but almost whenever I clicked on them, I found Alibris UK were no longer available, until the last - when the 'no longer available''message did not appear - but neither did the cheaper book itself. I gave up - I can't pay £372.

I already ordered this book from another bookseller...
I already ordered this book from another bookseller and never received it. I did not receive any communication from them as to why. It was only when I searched my account on Alibris that I discovered that Alibris UK had refunded me. I wrote to them to ask why and was told the book had been sent (I had confirmation of this by email) but was returned by the postal system, ruined. They had no other copies, so did not send a different copy. I was a bit disappointed that I had to go sleuthing around instead of them telling me directly by themselves.

The estimate cost of the shipping was exhorbitant
The estimate cost of the shipping was exhorbitant. This is why I stopped the buy repeatedly. Then I noticed that the estimate was provisional and continued. The billing and delivery address were very difficult to e dit and I was unable to delete an old address at Palliser road -moved out 11 years ago and I had to enter the credit card information repeatedly.

I like it, but one thing i didn't like was that when I entered an author's name, below the list of books he has written was "related books" that included one of the books above but at a lower price. I was lucky to notice. This strikes me as dishonest: the book was amongst the main list but cheaper in the small section at the bottom.

I've bought from alibris a few times always with a positive experience but this time I kept having to adjust my order so that the shipping wouldn't be £50+ for a £50 order. Maybe its the sellers selling used books for cheap and jacking up the shipping price or a bug on your site. Thank you.

Very good (it's been years since my first order!
Just one thing, last time I received one item over a month after I placed my order. I had bought it from a UK seller but the book came (to Spain) from the US. If that happened again, I'd be fine with it, as far as I am informed about it! Thank you very much!

One slight improvement so you won't be labled/libled as Amazon, quote the shipping cost as one selects an item and don't just chuck it in at the end.
This is very tedious, and if you want my opinion, I wld not choose your coy as a first choice.
I always get four prices and alibris is quickly sliding off my list of coys to get prices off for exactly the reason I have stated above.
Well, I saved approx 25% from other quoted prices, but it has taken me hrs to delete, chk the postage on each item individually, etc, etc, quite tedious.
Will I sit through this experience again? I think not.
Bon Voyage alibris!

You twice took an order for a book then later refused...
You twice took an order for a book then later refused it and this is now the third bloody attempt.

You owe me the standard admin charge from this end of £25 per occasion on which a retailer fouls up on an order for one book (every occasion after the first, which makes £25 due. This is in cash not kind)

I put items in my cart when I was not signed in, which reserved them for 12 hours. Then I signed in and my cart was empty and I could not add the item I wanted. I could not even see it, when searching, because it was reserved. I had to wait 12 hours. I believe this was because I did not notice the "please accept cookies" banner when I was not signed in. Your site tried to save my cart to a cookie but couldn't, but on the server, still reserved the item and made it unavailable. Please inform your developers.

I had problems with payment
I had problems with payment. I don't like using my credit card without identification, so I have closed it for all non-identifyable purchases. It took me quite a while to figure out how to open my credit card in my internet bank. But now I know how to do it, and of course, my credit card is closed once again.

I note that very often I can't get the books I choose from the same seller, instead I always find I am paying two lots of indivdual postage costs why is this?
It appears you spread the sellers out on each page and don't duplicate them so that if some one is picking consecutive books Alibris UK come from the same seller.
