Dishonest thieves!
I sent a relatively expensive book back to BooksRun after settling for a roughly $100 payment. I later checked my email, only to find that BooksRun found slight water damage on one of corners of the textbook, and would not be paying me anything. I received this email roughly 4 days after it was sent, only to find that they would only keep my book for 72 hours, and if I wanted it back, would have to pay return shipping, which would've been steep for such a heavy book. So, I received nothing, and the company refused to return my textbook. This site is a complete scam. Don't get screwed over by a company that steals from you.

Overall good. Expectations met
I was really unfamiliar with how to sell my books back and this website made it very easy to do BooksRun give you the the option to use their free shipping wish I did to send the books back going things that I really wasn't too happy with was the timing overall it took a really long time to receive my payment I was guessing that it's due to The Cove aid but they do say on the website that they are experiencing delays which I definitely experienced but overall I would definitely sell my books here again and thank you too the staffing at booksrun.com

Seller Beware - New/Like New Books
I sold two brand new books to BooksRun. When I received my reimbursement check it was for less than the quote. I listed the brand new books as "Used-Like New." BooksRun changed this to "Used-Very Good." Their rationale: the books were not shrink-wrapped. I am the manager of a bookstore and receive shipments of new books. The only shrink-wrapped books I receive are looseleaf editions or those which have codes. (The books I sold to BooksRun were neither.) Publishers don't shrink-wrap their books. To base the "Used-Like New" designation on whether or not they are shrink-wrapped is absurd. I was told they would get back to me about the change in condition, however I never heard from them again. Do not sell your new/like new books to BooksRun unless they are in perfect shrink-wrapped condition.

Do Not Order From Them
Order ID2108849: First time to order from this company. It took 16 days for my book to arrive. It was a paperback and put into a cardboard box without paper wrapping or bubble wrap so it arrived with damage to the right front corner and with a few small scratches on it. Contacting this company is near impossible. BooksRun don't answer their phone and the Chat session is automated and eventually tells you to call, which they don't answer or email. I have receipt in PDF form but this web page will not accept it.
I emailed that the book was damaged and received no response. If you look at their Terms and Conditions it says "BooksRun is not responsible for any loss or damage incurred during shipping." So, I guess I am screwed with a book that isn't suitable for a gift.

No customer service, will steal from you
The BookRun does not email updates, so you must go into your order online using the app or webpage. I sold them $42.00 worth of books. BooksRun contacted me once about processing my books and told me my order would be completed shortly. After issuing a second customer service email to BookRun they ignored my email and canceled my order. There was still no contact from BookRun about these changes. They have not issued my order back to me or told me why they decided to cancel my order. I fell their lack of communication means they will keep the books I sold them and not pay me. This action is them stealing from me, and I will be forced to file a legal police complaint if they do no resolve the issue in a timely manner. Please, look into this issue and help me find the resolution.

WHATS WITH ALL THE NEGATIVE REVEWS?
THE WEBSITE IS EYE AND USER FRIENDLY,,, IT EXPLAINS EXPLICITLY WHAT IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE AMOUNT QUOTED RE: BUYBACK,,, THE SHIPPING TIME,,, THE PROCESSING TIME,,, AND THE TIME YOU WOULD BE RECEIVING THE BUYBACK,,, I HAVE RECEIVED E-MAILS WITH EACH AND EVERY STEP OF THIS PROCESS AS TO WHAT BooksRun DID,,, THEY ARE THE HIGHEST QUOTING BOOK BUYBACK WEBSITE THAT I FOUND,,, THEY ACCEPT MANY BUYBACKS THAT OTHER WEBSITES WONT,,, AM I ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES?,,, ARE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS UNLUCKY OR LIES?,,, I DON'T REALLY KNOW,,, ALL I CAN TELL YOU IS MY EXPERIENCE,,, AND IT WAS A EXTREMELY POSITIVE ONE! THANKYOU BOOKSRUN!

SELL YOUR BOOKS SOMEWHERE ELSE.
I remembered that Chegg bought books back but unfortunately discovered BooksRun no longer did that. I was searching for a new place to buy my used books and found BooksRun. I wish I had read the reviews earlier and NEVER sent my books in. They sent me back pictures of "water damage" except I could not see ANY water damage in the picture. They cut my quote in half for 3 pictures of "water damage". My book became "acceptable" and after looking to see what their "acceptable" books quote for I was even more disappointed to discover that they were offering me 50% less than what their acceptable books go for with this specific book. If there's anything you get from these reviews DO NO SELL YOUR BOOKS TO THEM. Definitely take pictures of your books before sending them out if you choose to still sell them.

They try to scam you when buying back books!
I sent in 6 books to Booksrun and BooksRun said they were worth $51. I agreed just so they didn't go in the trash even though they are paying stupidly low prices for these books. I got an email after they received them saying all of the books had water damage and they decreased payout to $25. They sent three pictures of a water damaged book but it wasn't my books. One was a very obvious stock photo as it had Shutterstock on it. I emailed them and they have not responded. After I received their email I looked up reviews and saw that they have used this ploy on other people. Such a scam! Attached is the picture they sent me which is supposedly my Algebra book. It is not! Sellers beware of Booksrun!

Good product, terrible customer service
I bought a book from Booksrun, and it arrived rather promptly and in great condition for a good price (well below what I could get it for anywhere else). Unfortunately, I first tried to pay with Paypal and after completing the process their website said it didn't go through. So then I paid with a credit card and it was fine and registered the transaction. Next day, both charges went through. Dealing with customer service has been an absolute nightmare. Takes them weeks to reply (first reply was a week after submitting the issue, second reply was two weeks later) and BooksRun keep asking for additional information that I've already provided or that they themselves should have in their own records. Seemed very much like they were just stalling to avoid issuing me a refund. Finally got fed up and went to Paypal, and they issued me a refund in one business day. I should note that the second customer service reply came only after I initiated a refund with Paypal, so I suspect the contact from Paypal may be the only reason they actually decided to respond to me after two weeks of silence, despite the fact that I also had sent an email to their direct contact line (rather than customer service portal) after a week.

Best buyback experience
Please don't read the bad reviews, BooksRun are probably from people sending out bad books, knowing it and still expecting to get paid and blame the company. BooksRun is a Good company. I send out VERY expensive books, and they paid me what they promised. If you have good quality books then don't be afraid to send them. Follow the instructions on how to properly package the box, take a short video of the quality of your books, just in case, DONT use USPS, only FedEx and UPS. Don't send crappy books and think you will get away with it. Booksrun paid a lot of money for my books, I'm very happy. Thank you. I recommend them for sure, anytime!

Awesome buyback
While USPS media mail took an extra two weeks compared to its estimated delivery date, once BooksRun received my books it took about three days to process and then I got paid the next morning via PayPal. The other reviews on here scared me when I read them after I had already sent the books but with some patient and I received my full quote for the books, minus like $1-2. Don't let the reviews scare you. Just make sure to package your books really well. I put mine in plastic bags and then put bubble wrap and tissue paper to surround them to make sure they wouldn't be marked as damaged or anything. I'm already sending back two more books tonight now that I know the site is legit.

Light at the end of the tunnel
I rented a book from this company but ended up having to wait for it for almost 2 weeks, due to the way the USPS handled the package. Apparently BooksRun had to transfer my book to various distribution centers due to the packing slip being unrecognizable due to damage. When I finally received my book, the package was open, book almost hanging out, and the book was sliced across the back leaving a handful of pages cut up. When I brought this to this company's attention, Eugene was VERY helpful and EXTREMELY accommodating to my situation. He is the reason I will use this company's services again.

Book is in great condition.
I was nervous about purchasing from this site because I wasn't sure if it was trustworthy. I'm relieved to say that the seller I purchased from provided me with a textbook in great condition. There were a few pages that had highlighted areas, but that doesn't bother me at all. I didn't notice and torn or missing pages. I'm very happy with my purchase. I think the seller graded the book as being in "good condition", but for me I feel it was in great condition. Also, my book was delivered within 4 or 5 days. It didn't take long at all. I would highly recommend this seller. Thank you so much! :)

DO NOT SELL YOUR BOOKS BACK TO THIS COMPANY
I was very frustrated with my experience with Booksrun.com. I called twice to make sure that BooksRun would accept a brand new, loose-leaf copy of a Geology book. They assured me, not once, but twice that they did. After I sent the book in to sell to them, they refused to pay for the BRAND NEW, UNUSED book and then expected me to pay to have it returned. I also purchased a book the is still on back order and we are 3 weeks into class. I ended up having to go a different route and have yet to be refunded. Overall a very bad experience. 10/10 feel like its a complete scam and WOULD NOT recommend!

A Legit Scam
Their model sets people up to sell their books to bookrun according to the condition of their book, only to then make claims that the books you tried to sell have "heavy damage" and then slash the price quote BooksRun will pay you for them. They also don't pay for shipping to return the book to you after they adjusted your price quote, so you are left with your hands tied. I sent them a perfectly fine book with no highlighting, no ripped pages, at most a couple scuffs on the front. They adjusted my quote to half of what they offered me before I sent the book, claiming the book had "heavy damage" which was entirely false. I'd reject the offer and have them send the book back, but then I'd have to pay for that. This company is full of fraud, and I would have rather given my books away for free to a local library. Don't become part of their scheme and don't enable them to get any more money. They're just your usual heartless and pathetic college student predators.

Poor customer service
I called writhing business hour four times before I finally reached someone, 10 minutes before 1:00 when BooksRun close. I was on chat hold for over an hour and a half and never reached anyone before finally calling one last time and reaching someone who was able to help me. But the whole process took two hours and all I needed was an updated tracking number since the one I received was a Re-used one. Also the whole time I was on hold it said someone would be with me in 3 minutes and I was #1 in the queue. I also had sent two emails prior that were never answered. Definitely wouldn't it here again. Haven't even gotten the books shipped and it's been almost a week with an eta for delivery being tomorrow! So I am going to receive the books late, unfortunately. And to top it off. They didn't even give me an updated tracking number. It's still the Re-used one, they just sent me a link to view it on their page and see it was in the pre-transit process with no estimated ETA

Seemed simple and easy but went south fast
When I first found BooksRun I thought it gave me a great quote for one textbook at around $60. It was simple and easy to sell back and ship. BooksRun paid for shipping and seemed like I would be paid that amount once they received the book I sent. After a while I never got a confirmation email saying my book was received so I got on the website to check. My quote went from $60 to $0 without any explanation. I am not happy that they changed the quote so drastically and ask for me to pay the return shipping. I decided to not pay to have the book shipped back since it would cost me more to ship back then what I could get to try and resell the book again. Overall, I would never use this site again because of the dishonesty and lack of explanation for the quote drop.

Extended Delivery
The delivery time frame for this businesses books are extended and honestly embarrassing. It took me over 15 days to receive my book and when I reached out to someone at the business I was told "it's within the window." This is not true. It was actually outside the window as it took over took weeks to receive the book. I suggest avoiding this company altogether and using Chegg for book rentals. I usually use Chegg, but a friend told me about this company--big mistake. The longest I've waited with Chegg is 3 days, and that's only because I ordered the book on a Friday that instance. I did receive the book and it is in good condition. For this reason, I give two stars. This is a summer hybrid class and it's half way over.

Basically gave my book for free
I got a quote from BooksRun saying that BooksRun would give me $20 for my college textbook. I send my book and later receive an email saying that they would only give $0.34 for the book because the "ISBN number was different." When I went to try and have the book sent back to me so I can use another company, it said I would have to pay over $8 for shipping. Now I'm like what's the point of making money from this?
Jumping from $20 to $0.34 is ridiculous. Do not trust this website.
I am never using BooksRun again to sell my college books.

Please do not use this company!
I printed out the label BooksRun emailed to me, from their website. I received confirmation that they got my books and it would take 4 business days to process. A week later I never received anything. And now my books are missing and they stated, "we do not have a po box I do not know where they went" this was over a month ago! I have gotten no updates, every time I email all I am told is that they are "checking on it" filed a claim with usps and still nothing. At first I thought it was sincere and now I am being 100% ripped off. I asked for my case to be escalated to a supervisor or manager, was told someone would contact me. All I have received is a notification that a check for $15 is being sent! I sent them 3 never been opened books WELL WORTH over $300. I was originally quoted a measly $70.

Please do not use this company! Total scam! Will take your books and your money and run you for the ringer for MONTHS!

To the response by Booksrun - after two months of emails of my lost books, they all the sudden "found my missing books" what a miracle! And want to offer me $30 for 3 books. For some "mistake" and I have to pay for the shipping costs if i want my books back. - total joke of a company.

Horrible
If I could rate this zero stars I would. While originally being told that my books would be paid for in the amount of $57, after receiving my books BooksRun then decrease that amount to nothing. My books were both looseleaf textbooks and because they were jumbled around during shipment and some of the pages became wrinkled the book was no longer acceptable to them. This is absolutely unacceptable and I will not be using the site again. It is of no fault to myself that the books were jumbled during shipment and I should not have received such a lowered amount for payment.

FRAUD
Apparently I am not the only person this has happened to. I sent back a legitimate textbook and was supposed to receive $50. However, once BooksRun received my book BooksRun sent me a notification stating I would not receive any compensation because it was "counterfeit." I had to pay $8.95 for it to be shipped back. The book I received was NOT the one I originally sent. It was, however, a counterfeit book, as evidenced by its being black and white throughout. There was also damage to the spine and a sticker on the back that were NOT present on the book I sent in. Avoid at all costs.

Got what I ordered in the time frame promised
I actually ordered through AbeBooks but Bookrun shipped it. I've ordered from them before and it was fine. It was fine this time too. The book I ordered claimed to be used and in fair condition. I would say it was actually a little better than fair. The cover was a little bent and had the remains of a sticker on it and there was minimal highlighting inside. On the whole, it's in better condition than some I've ordered that claimed to be in fair/acceptable shape, and it cost me about $80 less than the same thing would have cost in the campus bookstore, so I'm satisfied and would do business with them again if BooksRun had the best price on something I needed. (By the way, I don't generally give 5 stars unless something truly spectacular happens. 4 is the best I give for people actually doing what I'm paying them to do.)

Buyback Scam
I have used Buyback twice now, and this time BooksRun took 2 of my books for $43, and then readjusted the quote saying that my book was a "Counterfeit" but won't send it back unless I pay for it. If they would just send the book back, there would be no problem since I know that it is not fake. But they want me to either accept $6 instead of $43 OR pay $8 to get my books back, but won't ship the "Counterfeit" back.

UPDATE: I was in contact with BooksRun to either receive the money I was owed or to make it right some way. However, after the comment left on this review by a BooksRun representative, I feel as if they still deserve a 1-star rating for lying.

They act as if they provide details about why your item is counterfeit, so they sent me pictures with problems regarding my book. Rather or not the book is counterfeit or not which I still don't know for sure. I have been waiting 6 days for a response after asking them to have the publisher of the book proving that it was indeed counterfeited. Just to verify that they are not trying to scam their customers. I also provided them with details about the seller that I bought the book from.

No response at all from the publisher or BooksRun after my email was sent to them. And was paid $6 instead of the $43 I was initially promised. I understand if the book was counterfeited, but either BooksRun does not know how to handle situations like this properly.

DO NOT USE—- SCAM
I sold my books to booksrun in January. I did two different packages of books to reduce the weights. I sent them both at USPS together. Booksrun had received my first box and reduced my payment from $84 to $53. BooksRun claim they "sent my check" and I checked for 2 months until realizing they never sent it. I tried multiple times to contact them and they are unreachable due to no one answering the phone. My second package of $150 apparently got "lost" there and I lost the money and the books. I will never use booksrun again, as I fell for the scammiest company. Hope this helps y'all to use a reputable company that won't rip you off!

Don't Trust BooksRun
I sent BooksRun 3 books recently. BooksRun deemed all three to be fake or counterfeit books. Even though the total weight of the books was only around 3 lbs, they charged nearly $20 for me to get the books back. They sent them back via media mail (for $4) in a thin sticky envelope with stickers on the back of the book indicating they were preparing to sell them. The books were returned with the covers bent up. Not in the condition they were sent. When I tried to contact them via phone, some female answered with a heavy foreign accent. She said she was transferring me to someone to speak to, then the call was disconnected. I called back, the phone went straight to voice mail. Appeared to be a VOIP phone (no landline). I was baited into sending them the books because they paid for the shipping, then once they deemed the books fake, had to pay for the shipping both ways, plus a little something extra for their trouble. It's a good business practice, I guess if one is in the mail fraud business.

Lack of Communication
It was partially my fault regarding the ISBN, but the lack of communication is truly outrageous. It turns out that my Web Assign access code was supposed to be a book, yet BooksRun decided to claim that my product was delivered, processed, then on their last hour on a Friday (since they are open from Monday to Friday 7am-12pm CST) they decided to pay me $0. This was all without emailing me.

So I had to wait until Monday to contact this company and now they are telling me that they did not receive the item that was quoted (again my fault for mixing up the ISBNs) despite their own tracker saying it was delivered, processed, and paid. Now they claim that they can't return anything to me at all. All they could have done was email me and say that the item ISBN was not the same. But now it seems like they just stole my unopened, new access code. Wonderful.

For anyone considering this service, please do your research and find other places to sell your books/access codes first. BooksRun should be the very last resort with a ton of risk involved.

Very good!
After graduating with my Master's degree, I had a ton of books that were taking up a ton of space. My wife just kept on fussing about my books for months, and so I finally had to do something about it to keep from having to sleep outside in my dog's house! I ended up proposing to my 17yo son during the COVID quarantine, I knew a good way he could make some quick easy money by selling back my college books to the online bookstores. I showed him how to make a spreadsheet of the ISBN's and how to put the various offers in columns of each of the various stores. After a few days went by he ended up selling 2/3 of all of my tons of books! By far, BooksRun was the best bidder and offered to buy the widest of the selections! He and I were both very satisfied with the buybacks. My son was very excited when the $118 check showed up in the mail! Thank you for your service and for keeping me out of the dog house BooksRun!

SCAMMMMMM
This place is a scam. The process and strings attached are not made clear. The get you to send the books, then BooksRun tell you it is not worth original amount and then they send you less money. SCAM SCAM SCAM. There game is they tell you the book isnt in the condition you stated but they never ask for you to indicate the condition, they say pages were missing which were not missing when I sent it off. Funny how this is for my most expensive book that they will be able to resell (even if it is damaged) for a lot and they just got it for free!

Caring about Your Customers With Efficient Service
I am very satisfied. I received my book with out having to wait for weeks. The book was cost effective as well as the cost for expediting shipment. My book was inexpensive and I did not have three weeks to wait for a book to arrive. I received my book within a week from the time of ordering it. All o my books were not available because of the high demand for the books in my industry and limited businesses BooksRun can be purchased with. I definitely needed by book for class to get started on my assignments. Thank you for your great service and caring about your customers.
