Scam site
I just made an order on the site it mentions that the Total to pay to unlock the phone is $ 19 in an unlocking period which does not exceed 6 hours, after 4 days I sent an email to *******@directunlocks.co.uk to request news on my order, after a few seconds I receive a robot email asking me to pay additional fees! At that time I discovered that it is a scam website! Also note that the few positive comments on this site is only bluff Direct Unlocks are only commentators who work for society nothing more! Currently I will proceed to make a recourse against this site using my youtube chain of more than a million subscriber and I will ask my circle of youtubers to make the companion against this website and I will move to England next month for a case and I will take the opportunity to file a complaint against this site I will not drop the case and it will be an opportunity to benefit my subscribers and also the web community to pay attention to this kind of legalized scam!

Promise loads: Deliver nothing
Promise everything and deliver nothing, really sums them up. Like other I paid the inital fee, then after a couple of days, Direct Unlocks ask for more money, which I paid. Then after a few weeks they tell you that they cannot unlock ipad. Then after a few months they send an email stating, they can now unlock any ipad locked/stolen whatever, they can now unlock them all. However it will cost another £49.99 to do so. I paid this in May 2019 was told it could take up to 90 days. Never heard from them again, until I emailed them in Feb 2020, I gave them plenty time! There answer is that they have been unable to unlock ipad, but cannot refund any money, oh what a surprise, I can use them to have a sim unlocked if I wish, at no cost, well I can do that myself. Dishonest, no customer service, in my opinion it is scamming.

Do not use this company. They are a scam.
I paid both fees (in total $80) and my phone was submitted to be unlocked on 3/12/2020. It still hasn't been unlocked and if you email their customer service (shout out to luke) Direct Unlocks will respond with a generic response and disregard any questions you may have. Sometimes you won't get a response. Oh and according to their terms and conditions you can request a refund after 30 days (if it's not completed) I can confirm that this is a lie. Please see images to how they respond to a refund request. Oh and their reviews appear positive because they flag negative reviews and try to get them removed. You'd have more luck asking a potato to unlock your phone.

Icloud unlock
Don't believe on this. Direct Unlocks are scammers especially Luke who's going to respond on your emails. I have purchased icloud unlock for $28 that's for the full unlock. After which i have receive a confirmation email, from that email they will ask you if you have the original receipt or if you have a contact from the previous owner. Do you think i will purchase an activation lock if i have those things that they ask. And then they will tell you to pay another $40 which they call a final pay. What is the $28 i paid in the first place? Literally nothing. Scammers!

Stay away from this website. Scammers!
I ordered an unlock for an iPhone 11 locked to Verizon on this website, initially I was told, it will cost $19.99. I made the payment then Direct Unlocks asked for $69 more dollar which I paid.
They claim the first payment was a pre-order and can't be refunded if second payment is not made. They don't mention anywhere during the initial payment that a second payment will be required.
I was told, It could take up to 5 business days, but now here I am, it has been more than a month and my unlock is still shower overdue.
I emailed them several time about my order and they won't help.
I won't recommend this website to anyone.
If my order is not completed or refunded by the end of this week, I will call my bank and file a complain.

Very disappointed that at no point in advance of placing...
Very disappointed that at no point in advance of placing my order do you state that there is a 2 step process and charge, which gives a complete false sense of view on your charges. I could of unlocked for much less if I had known. Also when I completed I reviewed confirmation of it taking between 24 and 48 hours to complete. Now it is done I have been advised it will take 4 days! Again when you check there is no information to say your timeline is working days, it just gives a view of hours. I feel very let down and feel that I am not getting the service you advertise and would have a legitimate claim against trading standards for this.

TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS NOT OBVIOUSLY PAID FOR REVIEWS, THIS IS A SCAM.
This company is a SCAM, believe everyone who had wrote this before me.

Firstly Direct Unlocks take your money in a very unscrupulous way by allowing you to believe that a first upfront payment is all it will cost and then hit you with a small print balance payment. I could have handled that if they had any intention of trying to perform the service advertised but it seems they didn't.

The service clocked up double the time they estimated at ten days, sitting at 99% on their pointless pretend clock with the word IMMINENT on it for four of those, presumably someone in their office gets a kick out of this as no logical, ethical company would do this.

When I pressed for more information the second time, I received an email that told me my order was cancelled because I had given them the wrong network, this isn't the case I am literally sitting with a Vodafone sim card in the phone as I write this review.

They offered me vouchers for a future unlock like some kind of golden ticket to further disappointment, I obliviously declined.

NEVER GIVE THIS COMPANY MONEY, from my experience and that is the same experience that many more have written about on many review sites, they are THIEVES AND CHARLATANS.

I feel foolish for taking the risk after reading the mixed reviews, DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE.
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!

BEWARE Almost 1 YEAR has passed and still NOT unlocked!
On 2/4/2019 I paid around $30 for the unlock, then about another $35 to expedite the order, and after about 60 days later, around another $65 for premium icloud unlock. Its been almost 1 year since the order and I'm still waiting. There are popups that show up on the website with verified customer unlocks, but in my opinion, I think it is all fake orders to perpetuate the scam. I will post a picture of proof, with the serial # so everyone else can independently verify the order is still open, so nobody else can be taken advantage of. I will update/edit/remove this post if the order ever completes. 11 months has passed to the day 1/4/2020.

This Company is Scamming People - Avoid!
Do not use this bogus service to unlock your phone, it's a complete scam. If you have never had your phone unlocked before and don't know the going rate (£20-£30), this might be quite easy to fall for!

I paid £23 and received an email later that day telling me I had to pay a further £48 to 'release the unlock'. This is an absolutely extortionate amount of money to be charing for this service, especially given that Direct Unlocks claim on their website to be 'reasonably priced'. I was refused a refund on the basis I was told about the extra charges upon checking out, which I was not - I even sent them screenshots of the checkout page to prove it which they completely disregarded.

Their website is full of misinformation, false advertising and is even displaying a bogus Trustpilot rating. They are in direct violation of Customer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations and I have reported them to the relevant organisations.

Bad communication, somewhat sketchy
I'm sure this company is legit based on the reviews, but it took almost three weeks before my "pre-unlock" was complete and am on day three of the actual unlock process. I don't doubt that my phone will be unlocked eventually, so I gave two stars instead of one. However, there are some things about this company that have left a bad taste in my mouth.

First, Direct Unlocks say on your tracking page and their ToS that they will keep you updated/informed throughout the entire process. They say they have people available for support 24/7. After a couple days of the "pre-unlock," I reached out to see what was taking so long. They informed me that it was something to do with new phones not being able to be unlocked right away and it generally takes no less than a couple extra weeks. Why didn't they reach out to me to let me know? They seem to pride themselves on having good communication. But whatever...

I have a problem with this whole "pre-unlock" thing as well. They're pretty shady about it. Sure, it's in the fine print. I don't think most users know the difference between this and the actual unlock. But again, whatever, I missed that and that's my fault. Maybe they should call it "Verification Phase" so they aren't deliberately confusing customers. But what really irked me about it is that after the "pre-unlock" was complete, they sent me an email letting me know I had to pay more for the actual unlock (my fault) while simultaneously mentioning several times that I had only paid for a "pre-unlock" and that it's mentioned in several (slightly hidden) places on their website. Cool—why aren't you this forthright before the initial purchase? It comes across a lot like "now that we've successfully swindled you, we need more money for the unlock, and here are the reasons why you have no right to complain about the aforementioned swindling."

As I said, I'm on day three of the actual unlocking phase. Their site says several times that iPhones take about 24 hours to unlock, and I'm over 48 hours. I have reached out for an update and have yet to receive a response. The estimated time remaining goes down by one hour approximately every four hours. What gives? I don't know, they won't respond.

THIEVES! DO NOT CONTACT OR USE THIS COMPANY!
We thought after reading all the reviews this was a legit company! Save your time and money and go elsewhere! It took a month for them to tell us this wasn't going to work. We had to contact them every week just for us to hear something, and even then it was very short and curt saying "We will contact you when we hear something"! No other explanation. Then when Direct Unlocks said it wasn't going to work, you DON'T get reimbursed! You get 1/3 of your cost back in a service credit from them to try again on another phone! Why would I want to do that when they have no business being in the customer service industry to begin with! $50 down the drain with them... NEVER AGAIN!

Scammers
After costing me about $100 usd, Direct Unlocks never done what they promised in 3 different orders
1. Icloud unlcok
2. Network unlock ( after the initial payment and checks, they confirmed the unlcok is ready but the carrier need additional money to cover the potential lost and I paid that and waited 3 days and they said the just wait, the unlcok is under way
Finally they said the phone is blacklisted although after the check process before it showed the phone is clean
3. Network unlock is ready and again require additional payment and will take 24-72 hrs and the waiting period is four days which would be 7 or more duo to the Corona!

They are thieves and any network unlock done is through the carrier only and not through unlock servers as they claimed
Im wondered how they steal innocent customer money for nothing without punishment

Please don't use this company!
I paid $20 at first to have my phone unlocked, and as many people have mentioned there is an extra $40 fee. I paid this and was fine with it and i received an email saying the unlock would finish in 1-30 days. It has now been over 90 days and i have still not gotten my phone unlocked. It is extremely frustrating and i have emailed the company several times. Some of my favorite emails Direct Unlocks completely ignored and others were given the exact same automated response. This company is a scam and has awful customer service. Do your self a favor and try another company.

Unreliable, promotes services it cannot provide, and does not reimburse.
I bought an icloud ilock, it failed because Direct Unlocks claimed the phone I had was a difficult case because it was reported as lost, they didn't reimburse me and never mentioned that some cases may not work. I have accepted that reality, but then they marketed a premium service that unlocks all icloud unlocked phone whatever the circumstance is, including phones marked as lost. I bought that "premium" service in January 2019. YES: 2019. So I have paid this company 100GBP in total. They promised for the phone to be unlocked in a maximum time of 90 days. It has been a year and a half now, and the phone is still locked, the phone has lost all value it had, they answer one over 5 emails I send, and they do not accept to reimburse me what I have paid for a service they have failed to provide as promised.
Totally unacceptable.
AVOID!

It's a scam...
First I paid the fee to find out if it was blacklisted and it came back clean. Waited over 30 days and every time I checked it was at 99% and imminent plus it also stated 5 days and 4 hours each and every time I visited the web site. Asked for a refund and now Luke wants wants a copy of my receipt showing I paid for the phone. Direct Unlocks had already checked the phone to see if it was blacklisted and it came back clean. Based on that info I went ahead with the unlock and now I'm out of money. Luke is a joke. He only responds after you've sent emails more than once. Save your money... Don't trust them... I will be doing more reviews at different websites and I sincerely hope they( or Luke) go out of business. See order here: Thanks for your order!
Please note this payment will appear on your credit/debit card statement as Directunlocks/NOCHEX.

Scam
UPDATE... AVOID
UPDATE, AVOID
UPDATE! Finally got a response. Got told that the company was taken over after I had lodged my unlock, and that because my transaction was done prior to them taking over the company Direct Unlocks can't refund my Money! They also told me their was pretty much no chance my ipad was going to be unlocked in the 1st place! AVOID! Waited almost 10months for my premium unlock only to be told it's been cancelled. No reasons given as to why and all I was offered was a credit which I can't even use on another premium unlock. DO NOT WASTE YOU'RE TIME OR MONEY. I'm $130 out of pocket for nothing!

Satisfied and would recommend
It's not cheap but it works. Some reviewers have claimed it is a scam, but its clearly not. I wanted my iPhone unlocked from a Japanese carrier and was told told it would take 5-20 days. It took exactly 10 days from initial registration. The total fee was a bit less than the small print' estimate. Progress is informed daily by percentage of completion and moved around 5% per day up to 50% then it suddenly accelerated from 63% to 100% in 24 hours. I don't know how it is done "over the air" by wifi but my phone is now unlocked and SIM free. It feels like taking a risk while waiting the first time for it to happen, but be patient and you will get exactly what you paid for.

Three and a half months and waiting
I initiated an unlock order on January 1, and was disappointed when Direct Unlocks then required another $100. But paid and hoped for quick service. Their site says unlocks only take a few days at most. They gave a tracker which shows percentage, and mine was shown at 95% almost immediately, but then never finished. Weeks and months passed, and emailed them several times, only to be told to wait a little longer. You can fast track the service for another $15 bucks, so out of desperation I tried that. Still nothing. It has been three and a half months and my phone still has not been unlocked. Maybe Covid has something to do with a minimal delay, but this is absolutely ridiculous!

Agree with the sophisticated scam service -
Direct Unlocks will charge once to check the eligibility of unlock of your phone, followed by another request to pay for the final settlement to unlock. Once they find they cannot unlock, they will register your phones as stolen in illegitimate website and speak to you like they cannot deliver their service because your phone is stolen. If you dig further and check other legitimate websites, of course your phone is not stolen, and when you get back to them with those evidences, they will say something else not to refund...
Their tactic is to collect small amount of money like 30 to 50 dollars from many online users. Coz that amount of money and the payment method are not something you can claim from third party investigators or banks.
I would very much like to say, their service is sophisticated scam - they need to use their head for something more valuable to make money properly.: s

Very unpleasant experience, especially the way they respond to the innocent users not to refund -,.-;;;

Find the original vendors to have your phones unlock and find more reliable and trustworthy service providers if you have to use other than the original device vendors.

Process Failed to Unlock my iPhone 7
Hi, I'm name Paul G. Today marked 2 Months since I've been waiting for my iPhone 7 to unlock. I requested the order last July 21st 2020. The iPhone 7 is under unlocking process IMMINENT for 2 Months to unlock and Direct Unlocks promised it would've ONLY TAKE 4 DAYS, 5 HOURS TO UNLOCK. I honestly didn't deserve this type of treatment, i emailed several time to informed about this issues I've been having lately with the Unlocking process I don't get any response back from DIRECTUNLOCKS.COM you guy's kept my money and failed to give me service. My iPhone 7 icloud is still locked and has not her been unlock for a long time. Unlock for 35582708... locked to Verizon USA
Overdue - this unlock is taking a little longer than normal, we are chasing this IMEI for you and have prioritised it. We will email you and update your status accordingly when it is unlocked.

Verizon USA - Current Unlocking Timeframe: 4 days, 5 hours
This is a little longer than our average because of the pandemic. Weekends are not included.

Estimated time remaining: IMMINENT

You don't need to do anything at this stage, simply wait for process to complete. You may continue to use your handset as normal in this period.

Please note that timeframes quoted are WORKING DAYS, so if your unlock is delayed please give consideration to bank holidays and weekends. MY IPHONE IS STILL LOCKED AND NEVER USED THANKS FOR NOTHING.
Today is September 2,2020 My Order: 6362948 was placed on July 21,2020. ( The Unlocking Process Failed to accomplish.)
Tuesday 21st July 15:27 - IMEI submitted to unlock server.

Scam!
Pure scam, dint EVEN consider placing an order, Direct Unlocks will take your money, or even ask for more money after a few days, in my case it was a week. They said that will be no additional cost for phone that is still under contact, but imagine, they ask for additional 110 dollars, and if you don't pay, they will not refund initial cost of 28 dollars. I was naive, they took my 10% salary (yeah salary in my country is around 350 dollars) and now they will not refund, and even asking for additional payment. I hate scammers like that, ill try to report that to uk authorities, but after detailed search in site they said that i accepted that they will not refund anything. Be warned guys, this site is pure textbook scam!

BEWARE
Direct Unlocks have hidden charges. I ordered an unlock code for an iPhone 7 and paid $28. I then received an email that they had my unlock code but needed to pay another $35, I paid this second charge and then received a futher email saying I needed to pay a 3rd charge for their "Premium Service". I asked for a refund and they told me I wasn't entitled to one under their terms and conditions which again you NEVER see until you have paid them. I have repeatedly emailed them for a refund and have been ignored. All communication ceases once they get your money,

Scam Alert, Stay Away
Scam alert, stay away
I submitted my code 38 days ago.
I was promised an unlock in a matter of hours. I was then asked for a second payment and to wait for 10 days.
Once those expired, I was refused a refund, and asked to wait for 30 days.
I have now exchanged more than 10 emails with an appalling customer service, who is refusing to refund, completely ignoring what I am writing and responding with automated messages.
Stay away, don't waste your money, use another service!
As of today, the phone is still locked, and I have lost more than 60GBP

Direct Unlocks only reply through pre-made templates and completely ignore your writing and requests.
They make refunds incredibly difficult and, even after exchanging more than 10 emails, I haven't got the product, nor the unlock.
They refer to their Ts&Cs, I quote their own writing, but they ignore anything.
It is definitely a scam, an improper way to run a business, with very poor manners, and absolutely no care for their customers

SCAM - They demand MORE money after your first payment. AVOID!
Ordered what I thought was an unlock code. Turns out in the fine print I was only buying a 'preorder' for a code. Direct Unlocks then have the cheek to demand MORE money for the code. AVOID and just go to the eBay sellers instead.

Customer service is terrible. They reply with obvious template messages and don't read what you send them. They refused my refund so I will be initiating a chargeback with my bank.

UPDATE: According to their payment provider, Nochex, they have to pay a fee if a chargeback is initiated from your bank. EVERYBODY SHOULD DO THIS. Make them pay & get your refund. Win-win.

You're only buying an option not a solution
I recently required a FRP unlock on my phone. Searching for Android FRP Unlock matched with https://tracking.directunlocks.com/lock-protection.php which does not make this clear.

Waste of money.

As stated on their follow for final payment "We cannot refund pre-orders due to the cost of providing the service, as stated on our homepage. However, if no further payment is made by yourself we will not proceed with the unlocking and no more payment will be due."

Direct Unlocks may do this intentionally or they may have just made a mistake with failing to ensure thier website is truthful. Either way some place to avoid.

They take your money and do nothing but give delays and excuses. A waste of time & money!
I decided to try this service, thinking it looked legitimate and would be able to unlock my 3rd party purchased iPhone. From the get-go there were warning signs, in particular their $28 fee simply to check the "eligibility" of the unlock. Direct Unlocks don't clearly tell you this until you part with your 1st half of your money and then ask for even more money once the "eligibility" is determined. After that it was another $38 that disappeared into their abyss. After these 2 online purchases, you get a fake status page showing something like 5 days remaining to unlock. The countdown goes on and inevitably expires. An email to their customer service simply gives you a generic, cut & paste reply stating that they're "chasing" your IMEI, which is code for doing nothing, but stonewalling. After that I did email their Customer Service a few more times and their replies were exactly, word-for-word the same as their prior responses. Essentially I felt like I was emailing with a robot vs a human being. After the 30 days wait is up, there's an inactive "self refund" link on the status page, which mysteriously disappears, instead of becoming activated. This just goes to show that this service is not legitimate and they simply delay, stonewall, & lie, hoping they get keep your hard earned money, while performing no actual useful service. I've requested multiple times for them to comply with their 30 day refund policy, but again I just get generic, boilerplate, cut & paste replies telling me to wait more, followed by ignored, un-responded-to emails. I highly recommend reading the other negative reviews on here, as I believe most of the glowing ones are actually fake. My experience matches the negative reviews almost perfectly. I've since gotten rid of that locked phone & now know to use a local unlocking service instead of one that is supposedly located in the UK (Seychelles is their true location, according to an investigation by another victim & blogger). Caveat emptor!

I have now received an email asking for an additional...
I have now received an email asking for an additional £68.00 to complete the unlock - the facts you stated in this second email - notably after you have taken money to carry out the unlock - are not stated clearly anywhere on your site. Even the refund policy link you supply doesn't work. I believe you are defrauding anyone who lands on your site and would like a refund of my original payment so that I can go to a reputable company to get my phone unlocked. You blatantly lie saying Vodafone require this payment - I will also be passing on this email and your details to Vodafone. I am extremely unhappy with this service and would give you less than one star if I could.

SCAM- DO NOT believe any positive review... I did and gave it a try and totally a DISHONEST company
CLICK out of their website! I have dealt with the SAME person(LUKE) and he just keeps giving you the run around after Direct Unlocks take your money. TOTAL SCAM! I paid my money for an unlock. However, after I was told my payment was an initial payment and I had to pay more money or they would not unlock it. They also refused a refund. When I asked questions I was met with an impersonal email that seemed to be copied and slightly edited for each response. I have been waiting over a month and my money nor unlock has been given to me. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS "COMPANY".

I DONT RECOMMANDE THEM
I have a very bad experience with this company, I've tried to unlock my phone through their website last November Direct Unlocks couldn't unlock it, I requested a refund they gave me a credit that I can use only on their website, I used that credit To unlock the same phone after 6 months, it's been almost two months from now, still waiting, the timeframe shows 10 days didn't change in around a month, I requested a refund the second time (In their policy they said you can request a refund if they don't deliver the unlock in more than 30 days) but this time they didn't want to give me the refund, I paid around 90$ for the unlock ( at first it shows 29$ and then they ask for second payment to complete the unlock), they just tell you to wait, My friend called the carrier and unlocked it in 24 ( we bought the same phone together locked to the same carrier)
Don't wast you Money

Caution scammers!
This site is just a money scam!
I placed an order. First them ask me to pay 15.99Euro for verify handset, check unlock eligibility, and ensure correct network. Then Direct Unlocks checked and confirmed that my phone should be unlocked.and ask me to pay another part of amount 63$. I accept it and paid them 63$ after than which I waited 3 weeks and today I received email from them that my phone can not be unlocked because of Bad ESN but my phones ESN was clean because first of unlock I checked it.
They refuse to refund my money back due to: As we have already prepared your unlock and incurred the unlocking charge, we cannot supply a refund for handsets which are rejected in such circumstances
But when I paid them 15.99 Euro and they confirmed that is that it can be unlocked, it turns out that they just deceived me and appropriated all my money just like that.
They are a scammers. I'm going to find a lawyer and file a complaint against them
