With Lucky Vitamin, I can order the same name brand supplements/products as in the store without the huge mark-up AND have it delivered to my door in rural America. The other benefit to Lucky Vitamin is that there are tons of ways to review each product and usually other health information is provided, as well.
Which means that I don't have to chase down a clerk to help me with my selection. All the details are provided there for me to cross-reference with other similar products, allowing me to make an informed decision.
I honestly have not had any trouble with any products I have ordered. I did have a small issue with the website a year or so ago but nothing major.
I'm in London, England and here are some useful tips if anyone in the UK dares to order from this company especially after reading their horrendous customer reviews!
Tip number 1)
ALWAYS, always, always pay using PayPal. You can file a dispute for up to 120 days from the date of your order. Also, if a problem with Lucky Vitamin arises shortly after youve placed your order and before payment has been taken from your account, OPEN A DISPUTE IMMEDIATELY and PayPal will SUSPEND PAYMENT to Lucky Vitamin until the dispute is resolved and Lucky Vitamin won't get your money. You can then refuse to accept the order when DHL contacts you that Lucky Vitamin have your package at Customs. After 3 weeks it'll be returned to Lucky Vitamin; you can verify this with DHL and inform PayPal. Since the goods would be returned to Lucky Vitamin, PayPal will make sure that you get your full refund.
Tip number 2)
If a problem arises with Lucky Vitamin, USE THEIR LIVE CHAT service, DON'T PHONE them and DON'T EMAIL them. There are countless reviews stating that emails to the company go unanswered. Also, phone calls don't provide you with anything IN WRITING. LIVE CHAT is an instant messaging service and it's available from 9am until 8pm EST (New York time). You deal with a REAL person in REAL time. BUT HERE'S THE SUPER-IMPORTANT PART: when your chat is over, DONT close the chat window! INSIST that the Lucky Vitamin representative, who has been "chatting" to you, sends you a copy of the "chat transcript" to your email address. KEEP THE CHAT WINDOW OPEN UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED THE TRANSCRIPT! Also, check that ALL your exchanges with the Lucky Vitamin rep appear in the transcript. The rep might initially close the window at THEIR end- you'll know if they do because you'll receive an instant message like "Thanks, spread the wellness!" or something stupid like that. DONT CLOSE your own chat window but insist and INSIST until you have received the transcript AND checked it over. You can send message after message prompting the Lucky Vitamin rep to send you the transcript even if they have already closed THEIR chat-window, so long as you DON'T CLOSE YOURS! Every time you send a message, it RE-OPENS the chat window to the exact same representative with the ENTIRE conversation, right up to the 1st time they closed their window. I've used this method TWICE now, so I can guarantee that it really works. Having a transcript of your conversation with the Lucky Vitamin rep is far better than speaking on the phone because everything that you discussed with them is now with you -IN WRITING.
Tip number 3)
If you're in the UK and decide to go ahead and order with Lucky Vitamin, spend over £55 if possible. If youre a new customer, spend enough so that the total will still be over £55 even WITH the "new customer discount code" which is currently 10% off. I suggest this because you will then be entitled to free shipping. By selecting the "DHL Priority" option, 20% of your order's value will be added to the cost BUT therell be NO ADDITIONAL VAT (which is 20%) PLUS a handling fee (of around £8.00) to pay when your order arrives at HM Revenue and Customs in the UK.
4) If spending £55.01 is too much (and it was for me), try to get friends / family to browse the Lucky Vitamin website then add what they need to your order. That way, you'll each benefit from Lucky Vitamin's low prices which if I'm honest, are cheaper than Superdrug, Holland & Barrett, Amazon and Solgar Online (even when they run an offer of 25% off everything).
So in summary:
Pay using PayPal. If your order goes missing, arrives damaged or you get the wrong items, PayPal will get your money back for you (just remember to file a dispute within 120 days of your purchase). In some cases, PayPal will even pay your return shipping costs if you need to send stuff back.
Use "LIVE CHAT" to communicate with Lucky Vitamin and INSIST on a transcript of your "chat" with the Lucky Vitamin representative. DON'T CLOSE YOUR CHAT WINDOW until you receive the transcript at your email address AND you've checked it to ensure that it's complete.
Spend at least £55.01 if possible and select "DHL Priority" in the shipping options -you'll pay the VAT (20% of the order value) there and then AND save at least £8.00 in the handling fee which would be added by the courier company on arrival of your goods into the UK.
Ask friends / family to add to your order so that it reaches at least £55.01. What they'll pay you will be a lot less than the prices offered by the retailers mentioned above -even with the few pence which youll need to add in contribution to the "DHL Priority" shipping option.
I learnt all this through trial, error and prayer! I really hope that it can help someone avoid the hassle that I encountered when ordering and which lasted 24 HOURS with only 4 hours of that for sleep.
Placed my order within a few days for a handful of 90-day supplies, that I would package myself at home into daily-packs. Not only did Lucky Vitamin have everything I needed (rhodolia, astaxthanin, etc.) but they had it at some of the best prices I could find online. And judging by the brands, and reviews, they definitely seem to be quality products.
Having just received my vitamin this past week, I was pleased to find out that they have a 30-90 day love it or return it guarantee. I didn't even know such a thing existed for vitamins, so that left me impressed. In fact, I'll likely be adding stuff to my order in the future, such as protein shakes and more just for the sake of that guarantee, since many of those are hit or miss.
Don't listen to the negative reviews. Most of those are about a particular vitamin, or some obscure problem that is not relevant to the majority of purchases. Shop here, you won't regret it.
In summary, the prices may be cheaper but you'll have to work for your money!
After checking the very deep "hidden" notes left on their parcel tracking site (DHL), I saw that DHL wrote "DESTROYED"! Rather than initiate a return of the undelivered package to Lucky Vitamins. DHL never returned my emails and there was not a telephone number I could find online to contact them. Same for Lucky Vitamins. No one would accept responsibility for the loss of my goods.
Something has happened to this company. I had not ordered from them in years. I used to get my parcels without a hitch and now I see there are more complaints than ever against their customer service dept. Most of the complaints read they never received the products or they found the products were damaged when opened. Right now they are not any better than a bunch of criminal shysters in the way they handle their customers. They lack integrity and totally ignore their customers rights. Don't order from them! If you do, expect nothing but deceit from them in return for your good money that you will never see again.
I gave LV a rating of more than 1 star for at least finally agreeing to cancel the backordered items once the arrival timeline extended to 30+ days.
Please upgrade your system to allow a customer to cancel an order that hasn't processed (i. E. items haven't been pulled / boxed). Reminding me I can always mail something back at my expense, when there was plenty of time to cancel, is not impressive.
- Provide the customer with an option of receiving everything in a single shipment when some items are back ordered. This would not only reduce landfill waste but would also reduce their shipping costs. Jet.com offers this option AND passes the shipping savings onto their customers!
- Provide the customer with an option of not using cold packs. As an adult I think I'm capable of making the decision to have items shipped without the use of cold packs, at my own risk. Again, this would not only reduce landfill waste but would also reduce their shipping costs by drastically reducing the weight of the shipment.
- I've also asked that shipments be sent with no promotional materials. Again, my requests have been ignored.
If it weren't for these items I would give LuckyVitamin a five star rating.
Finding items was easy,
Adding to checkout was easy,
Finding the shipping cost without having to put your credit card info in was easy,
Way to many other online vitamin stores asked for credit card info prior to giving shipping costs,, often this was after spending loads of time finding items I wanted, clearly I would not give credit card info out willy nilly so I never completed those order,,,
BUT I did complete the order with lucky vitamin.,, my only small gripe was I was given a discount code for my shop [10%] typically discount code redemption slots are close to checkout- not so with lucky vitamin- this was to be found when scrolling down and away from the checkout.
Great experience otherwise,, will use again.
Order Id #LV14200229: I have ordered prenatal medicines on 1st Oct (more than 2 months), still I haven't received it. When contacted your customer care Lucky Vitamin asked me to contact DHL team, when DHL contacted COD, they asked for details from seller. I proactively exchanged many mails on this, added LV Customer care to the mail, so that communication will happen to solve this. But LV customer care reply f package is lost they are not responsible. Please understand package is not lost, COD wants details from seller, which you can solve by providing details to DHL. If 5 minutes would have spent looking to solve this they would have, but they always copy paste the information. You guys doesn't care about customers.
Final response form customer care team: "please contact Indian Customs with your order confirmation to claim your package! It is Customs that has your package, not DHL or Luckyvitmain."
Note: During purchase you mentioned additional fees might need to be paid at your doorstep, but never mentioned I need to all the work from tacking, beg LV CC to share the information to DHL.

Also, 1 item which was in stock when I placed my order, but on backorder by the time I got confirmation email, and which was shipped a week after the rest of my order arrived more than a week before the rest of the order... Why? Why, with "3-6 day standard shipping" does it take more than 14 days to get here (the backordered item was not expedited, it just arrived in a relatively more timely manner)?
I'd never heard of luckyvitamin.com before. I stumbled on their site when I was looking for Bulletproof Brain Octane. The prices were attractive with discounts, so I ordered and paid by a pre-paid forex debit card. My card was immediately charged.
Then I received an email that my order was placed on hold. Minutes later I received an email that my order was confirmed. The next morning I received an email from their fraud prevention staff that my order was placed an hold & I should send them via email the 'transaction/approval code' for this specific transaction on my card. I was aghast as sensitive information is never exchanged via email. So I refused and asked for them to cancel my order.
Then I repurchased the same items, this time using a credit card. The order was again put on hold. Since I'd made a mistake keying in the cardholder's name, I thought it was a genuine mistake & placed the order for a third time with the same credit card. By then my card provider notified me that my card had been charged twice.
I received emails from their fraud prevention staff again asking me for the transaction code on my credit card via email.
I emailed the support staff (a total of 7 emails) for a cancellation. No response.
I did a 'live chat' with a support staff who was helpful & she asked me to email them to release my order. So far no response from them via email.
In addition to all the stress, I needed my shipment within a certain date as I had to send it to someone who was flying out of the country. Well, that clearly is not happening.
I'm not going to recommend this site to anyone I know. Please do your research, and if you must use them, please start out with small orders. (I spent $250 in 3 transactions, none of which have been reversed yet.)
I placed the same orders later on amazon and it will be reaching destination tonight, within 4 days and zero hassles.
This is my first order with Lucky Vitamin, but Lucky Vitamin post to UK - hurrah! - and with free posting over £55 - bless them! - so fingers crossed there are no additional duties on the way.
The ethos and vibe of the company, family run and passionate about health and happy customers, is uplifting and inviting. I find the web-site easy to use, the product information clear, quick, and easy. I like the wish list and regimen list, and apparently they do autoship too.
The range of products is phenomenal! - any American customers who feel unhappy with any of it, try some English sites and you'll feel Lucky indeed to have Lucky Vitamin so handy!
And the prices and substantially-reduced special offers seem excellent, much appreciated:)
The registering and check-out processes were all easy, quick, straight-forward, just the postal address box wouldn't let me correct one error so I have to contact Lucky Vitamin to do that.
Anyway, so far I am very impressed and delighted, and look forward to more happy healthy shopping ~ and learning more about nutrition ~
YAY! & THANK YOU LUCKY VITAMIN
(from Judith in UK)
I learned from the manufacturer's site that the product I ordered is no longer available, yet Lucky Vitamin is listing the old product on its site and using the old product name on its invoicing while shipping the new product, which has a new name and new ingredients. This is false advertising and misrepresentation.
I immediately emailed Lucky Vitamin telling them of their misrepresentation and false advertising. Their website clearly says "No sweat, all products – opened or not – can be returned for any reason. Send the items back to us within 90 days and we'll refund your money…Once we receive the package, we'll refund you via the same method of payment with which you paid. You will receive the full purchase price of your product minus any shipping fees (unless of course, it was our error)."
I told Lucky Vitamin, "This is your error in shipping me a product I did not order. I expect you to provide a full refund of $34.00 to me when you receive the returned product plus provide a prepaid shipping label."
I received a prepaid shipping label the next day by email, packaged the supplement & took it to a FedEx drop off site on September 8. FedEx delivered it to Lucky Vitamin on September 11. The next set of problems began on September 14 when Lucky Vitamin gave me a refund of $28.05 after deducting shipping of $5.95. This clearly violates the statement on their site.
Thus began a series of 5 emails from me demanding an additional refund of $5.95 for shipping, which was free to begin with. The replies from Lucky Vitamin employees ranged from I had already gotten a refund, no refunds for shipping are allowed, to a general run-around. With each email I had to send, my frustration and anger at this company for its lack of customer service and business ethics grew and compounded.
For me, it wasn't any longer about $5.95. It was about principles, ethics and doing what's right. Lucky Vitamin violated the promises it made on its site. Finally in my last email sent September 20,15 days after I got the wrong product, I stated that if I didn't get a refund of $5.95 promptly, I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General of their state. I added that Lucky Vitamin had ripped me off and I did not intend to stand for it. The next day I received a refund of the $5.95, but no apology whatsoever from the employee issuing the refund. I find that amazing.
I know this review is long, but I want others to be aware of how Lucky Vitamin treats its customers when it does something wrong. I will not put myself in a position where this could happen again to me.
