Lucky Vitamin have terrible communication when it comes to actual orders, and even their marketing emails are delayed, but they have come, several of the marketing ones I'm talking about. This was on Monday, it's Wednesday now and they still haven't even shipped the supplement I really need, and all I have ever got are auto emails to my messages to them asking about the order. I got a general auto email saying that most back ordered items actually usually take up to 7 days, not 2 - 3. If I wasn't suffering so badly, normally I wouldn't be so upset so soon, but it very much seems like these people are nothing better than liars who don't keep their promises and don't care about their customers. I tried live chat this morning and all I got was a bot that kept me waiting for over 20 minutes whilst I was on the phone to the bank, before I gave up, saying the right person would come on, trying to query why there were 2 pending charges from my bank that more than doubled the cost of the order up to almost $1,000. This was the only message I then sent them that I even have got a reply to, and no apology, either, not that an apology would be enough. Also, when you send a message, an auto email comes that says it can take 72 hours, 3 days, to get a reply from them.
I don't think it is too much to ask to do what you promise as a company nor to keep the customer informed about what is going on with their order. Now, it's too late to order from somebody else today, the earliest I could get the supplement from somebody else now would be Friday, and due to the poor communication from Lucky Vitamin, I might pay all that extra money to buy one elsewhere and then they all might arrive on the same day.
What upsets me the most is the lies and the lack of communication, leaving me wondering and everything up in the air. It almost seems like there is nobody really running this business.
I have never before now bought supplements from a company that was so inefficient and lacking in communication. I would recommend anybody else to keep looking and avoid this company. I wish I had done.
Update - It's now several hours since I wrote this, and I just now got an email from LV saying I had unread messages. It was the so-called live chat. Somebody called Shawn was saying 'It's been a while since I've heard from you,' and went on to say he was going to disconnect. You must be joking. He was never on live chat that entire time when I was.
And I still have yet to get any replies about what is going on with my actual order. Run from these people. It just gets worse and worse. Unprofessional in the extreme.
Update - 19 June - apart from that one message I got, none of my other messages have ever been answered. I did receive one bottle of the item I ordered 18 of on Saturday, the day after I'd received a bottle from another supplier that came overnight, but to date none of those others have been sent to me, despite their claim of it taking 2 - 3 days for out of stock items to be shipped, and all I've got from them since have been marketing emails.
I have just checked their website, and it now says that product is still back ordered but now there is no ship date. When I ordered, it said 2- 3 days. I have sent an email telling them I want to cancel the 17 remaining bottles and that I will be disputing charges with the bank if necessary. I sent it to their email address, not through their website, which now says I have no account there, and I've got an automated reply back acknowledging receipt so they can't say they never received my email.
For a change, I received a reply within a few minutes cancelling my order with an apology, although I'm not sure how sincere it was. They were probably relieved because I don't think they can come up with the product. Now I have to work out how much I should have been charged for the 3 items I did receive, and I hope I don't have to dispute it with the bank. Even though it costs more, I suppose I'll have to stick with the reliable companies like iherb and pureformulas unless I can find somebody else. This has been a horrible experience, and I just want to put it behind me and forget they ever existed.
He said the coupon showed on their end was only good for 24 hrs (not 48 hours as stated in the email I received with the coupon) and later he claimed there were excluded items (although the exact personal care items showed the discount when I put them into my online cart/basket & the email stated all personal care items got the 10% discount). Last night (same day of receiving my coupon in my email), I was adding more personal care items to my online cart (which were the qualifying items for the 10% coupon), Lucky Vitamin all showed they received the discount as I placed the item into the cart to buy. When I went to my cart to check out, I had to re-enter the coupon code CARE10OFF as it had disappeared. It said that coupon had expired. I tried re-entering the coupon several times to get it to take it, I emailed Lucky Vitamin at 9 PM & called them this morning. I have been a customer for years, but won't do business with people who use deceptiveness, false advertisement and untruths. They are not my friend (although they pretend to be your friend) or who I want to give business to. I do not want to support them with my hard earned money. Like I mentioned, this isn't the first time I had trouble with Lucky honoring a coupon they sent me. I have several other companies online that are upfront, transparent (not hiding), wonderful to do business & don't waste my time.
I found their site through google search, through one of the "shop on google" sponsored links with pictures (it had the lowest price option).
Vitacost has been my go to shop for various supplements and some food products.
I was surprised to find out that many of the products had lower prices than Vitacost or Amazon
One thing I liked about it is that Lucky Vitamin offered individual package deals on protein bars. I could purchase different flavors of protein bars with the same price as the bulk package. Wish they had offered more flavors with individual package options.
I wish they also offer BOGO deals or occasional 10-20% off on entire order type of deals as Vitacost
Also, I'd find them to be very competitive if they lowered their free shipping minimum purchase limit, say to $35 or so. Current $49 limit is the same is Vitacost but since Vitacost is more popular (I assume), it needs extra perks. Walmart offers free 2-day shipping for just $35 purchase. It's a smaller company so maybe they should consider offering free standard shipping with such orders.
On February 14, a day before the last delivery day, it was still in Illinois. After this time, I contacted customer service through the live chat, and was told the delay must be due to customs, even though the product hadn't arrived in my country yet.
Then on February 20th- 5-10 days after the delivery date- tracking shows it arrived in Lisbon. If the delays since THEN has been due to customs, that is one thing, but it was massively late in even hitting my country.
Today I contacted customer service through the live chat again, and was again told the delay was only due to customs, with no acknowledgment to the delay arriving in Portugal. I was simply told it takes a while to arrive to my country, and that the delay was customs. I am not on Mars. Portugal is the closest European country to the USA. This sort of delay never happens with other online orders, including iherb and amazon. Also, if it was going to take that long to arrive in Portugal, why was I even given a quicker delivery time to begin with? It did not even leave the USA for 6 days after I ordered it, and presumably was then sent by boat judging by the time it took.
Luckyvitamin was not the cheapest price either for the product OR for shipping. I ordered here because the shipping time was quicker.
NOW there is an additional problem. I am leaving the country for two weeks, and will be off continent. I won't be here to receive the package, or be able to make or receive calls to the courrier. This is why I paid more to ship it faster. I have been told that if it is sent back, if I can't receive it, I will receive a refund eventually for the product but not for the shipping. Also that I will have to pay more for customs, which is expected. I also expected up to a 15 days delay at customs, as indicated. I took that into account with ordering and the delivery time I was quoted. I do not WANT to return the product, as I still need it and haven't reordered elsewhere because I kept expecting it to arrive.
I am not even most disappointed at the shipping delay, but rather the total apathy and lack of service and acknowledgment by luckyvitamin for the original shipping delay.
I suppose I should have stuck with iherb or amazon, given this experience.
Overall, I'm really happy with this company which I found on the internet accidentally over 4 years ago and I'll continúe to do business with them for years to come. Thank you once again Lucky Vitamin.
I then emailed them and was told to phone instead to place my order. I tried that and was then told Lucky Vitamin were out of the items I wanted!
Then about a week later they sent me one alert after another(about 10 in a period of less than a week)that the items I wanted were now back in stock.
I then phoned in AGAIN and this time, a very $#*!y rep. Informed me that they couldn't take a Canadian order by phone! When I tried to explain about all the previous delays and issues online, she just kept interrupting, telling me there was nothing she could do about it. No apologies, just rude and unhelpful.
This company is the worst! I'm sticking with Amazon Canada and Well.ca from now on. I don't have the time or interest to bother with this kind of BS!
It's practically the middle of the night for me, but I've been awake, so I checked my emails, and about half an hour ago I got an email alert from my bank that these crooks were trying to charge me $576.70. I immediately rang the bank to dispute this charge, and I also sent another message to this horrible company that there was no such auto-shipment and that I was disputing their fraudulent charge with my bank.
This is even further reason to stay well away from these people. I can't believe their nerve.
I placed my order on June 24th: 12 deodorants.
After placing the order, I asked them not to mention the word "Lucky Vitamin" on the package because Customs in Italy would hold the package thinking it's some pills or something else you cannot get in Europe and is forbidden.
Lucky Vitamin told me they couldn't because as good Americans, they always know better than others.
Sure enough, the package got hold at customs on July 2nd and I haven't received anything yet. We are September 27th now!
They don't want to deal with customs and tell me I should call them, which of course is impossible!
Communication with Alisha the "Happy Wellness Ambassador" is like spitting in the wind. I sent many emails and she doesn't help at all!
They don't want to send me the money back because they want the package back, which I don't have.
It's a real nightmare!
Don't ever buy anything with them if you don't live in the USA! Trust me, you will regret it!
If you try and contact the company, their answer is basically "Hard luck, not our problem" and that's it. As you've (unwittingly) ordered from a company outside the UK, you don't have any real comeback under UK law.
I've refused the order so I can't comment on the quality of the items but, given the tricky way the website leads you into believing you're ordering within the UK and the appalling customer service, I wouldn't be at all sure that the quality is trustworthy.
Definitely best avoided.
Their website offers list of ingredients and allergen information so it is great if you have food or skin allergies.
Shop around because some of their prices are more expensive than local stores, but mostly they offer good prices and quality items.
Free shipping requires you to spend nearly $50 to get free shipping, which makes you buy things you don't really need at a price you don't really want to pay.
Some of the natural herbal cures do not work worth a flip, but they do allow you to review them. Don't believe all the reviews. I tried a menopausal formula that people raved about and it did not help me in the least.
Also be aware that some of the herbs they sell taste horrible even when encapsulated and have an after taste burp-up that will floor you!
Their recently redesigned website is really harder to navigate than their old one, but if you are looking for detailed information with customer reviews and a wide choice of natural and whole health foods and supplements, they are on an equal footing with other companies and often have slightly better deals.
Beware the bargains though. 25% off of something priced at $30 and valued closer to $8 is NOT a bargain.
Also be careful of dosage size. You may thinkg 8.95 for 30 pills is not bad, but if you have to take three a day for one dose, then 18.95 for one dose in one pill is actually a better bargain... do your math and compare prices and read reviews.
When I inquired, I asked them to express ship my order at their cost because of their failure to notify me. Remember, I was a consistent customer, spending over $1,000 a year with them! Lucky Vitamin refused and were rude. Apparently, my money is not good enough for them and they, like THRIVE MARKET, don't give a hoot about losing revenue.
I tried to contact their parent company, GNC and was disconnected one time, promised a callback two times, and never heard from anyone. I am no longer paying their salaries by making purchases from Lucky Vitamin.
When these small companies become successful, they are sold to horrible corporations: Lucky Vitamin=GNC, Jet.com=Walmart, Vitacost=Kroger... and, of course, Amazon just bought Whole Foods.
Small businesses used to be the "backbone" of American Business. No more! This is very, very dangerous and very sad!
Bit of a win win situation for them. It's not arrived but Lucky Vitamin have my money. I can only get a refund if it is returned them within 60 days but the website says 90 days and if it is lost you won't get your money back anyway. Avoid like the plague. They talk about "Spread the Wellness" I would say spread the word to avoid them!
I understand the shipping dept tries to pack lightly to use as little packing material as possible (certainly noble intent to not waste resources). Each shipment had one small layer of bubble wrap in a tight box. Any shipping carrier would break them. However, by using a box too small and too little bubble wrap they have wasted > 100 times the materials. So to save $1 dollar of bubble wrap and cardboard (on a slightly bigger box), the shipping folks wasted several boxes, bubble wrap, 8 plastic gallon bottles and 8 gallons of product.
The customer service rep was apparently unable to convince the shipping dept to package it safely and finally gave up. She ultimately said their shipping dept could not get it to me in one piece and is issuing me a refund. I rarely give bad reviews. I'd prefer to give many compliments and much praise and few complaints, but this is bad enough that the story deserves telling. Maybe they will get the picture and make changes. Very puzzling! Very disappointing!
