Worst Rental company I have ever worked with.
We moved across the country and rented a property that looked great in pictures and the size was right. When we arrived we discovered the sqft was actually less than half of the advertised size. I made several attempts to get a resolution on this issue, and after 4 months, I resorted to calling them out on social media. That got a response. Main Street Renewal offered to lower my rent, but we were still stuck in a house too small for our needs. When the lease was up they wanted to raise our rent, or charge us double for a month to month. We said hell no and rented a new home. After we moved out they listed the house for the original sqft. In an effort to help the next guy I notified them, and 4 days later they have not updated the listing. They are also VERY slow to respond to maintenance issues, especially emergency issues. I will never do business with MainStreet Renewal again. So far American Homes for Rent has been a much better experience.

THIS COMPANY WAS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING!
Please listen:
THIS COMPANY IS AWESOME!

I recently found Main Street Renewal online as I began my house hunting journey. I use the app "rently" to see several homes that Main Street Renewal offered in Georgia. I am also a recipient of hcv so I could only move to certain areas and so forth. I started my application with MSR and it went from there. At first there was a miscommunication about the application because of my credit but when I say this company went ABOVE and beyond to help me. THEY DID! Due to the pandemic alot of companies are short staffed but this company still managed to renovate homes, post them and get ppl moved in. The staff emailed me promptly and assisted me in every way possible. I wish that I could pay them back for all that they have done for family and myself.

Stay far away from these crooks!
Absolutely the WORST company on planet Earth.
These "people" do not care one iota about you as a tenant.
Brand new house, first people in it, and raw sewage backs up all over the first floor. I mean actual poop, pee, toilet paper floating in the living room. Called for help, Main Street Renewal said it would be 3 days before someone could get there. Really. A bio-hazard. Three days. Why don't THEY live in raw sewage for 3 days and see if that's acceptable.
Well, now it's 2 years later and I am not renewing my lease and all of a sudden, everything I have been doing routinely for 2 years is an "HOA violation". The HOA charges nothing, but MSR hits you with a $25 fee each time for posting the notice to my online account. Where I park, where my trash can sits, height of my lawn, my flower beds, etc, everything 100% exactly the same for 3 years but now is a violation!
And you have 10 days from the date of the violation to meet the HOA board to appeal the notice but MSR holds onto it until the 10 days have past so you CAN'T appeal and THEY get to keep the $25!
These crooks are rotten to the core and if you rent with this company you are a FOOL! Just like I am!

DO NOT give them your business!
I rented a Mainstreet Home in Gilbert, AZ for 2 years. I was an excellent renter. I paid for the trees to be trimmed (Main Street Renewal never reimbursed me) and kept the house immaculate. When my 2 year renewal came up, they wanted to raise my rent $300/mo. I purchased a home instead and gave them well over 30 days notice. I followed all of their move out instructions completely. I paid for a cleaning service and left the house in perfect condition. They sent me $200 out of my $1800 deposit back. They made up a ton of bogus charges in order for them not to give me my deposit back.
They are not a fair business and they will find any excuse to keep your money in an unethical way. I urge you to not give them your business, you will lose a lot of money with them.

The worst experience
I never receive a call back or email, until 2 days before move in from a different agent asking were my questions answered and do I receive a return response. When I say no, he then forwards me emails that I never received, and begins to address my concerns. I then advise and thank him for the understanding, but now that he's answered my concerns from last week how can I get a return of my funds and coins my lease. He states that I can't I am in a contract. I state yes but had you guys called me back or replied to my emails within the time constraints you were holding me accountable for I would have never paid the money and allowed you to void the contract then. But now that I've paid and you have my concerns answered I know that entering in this contract with you would not be in my best interest because you professional practices are inconsistent and unprofessional and one sided. And not on a level professional business standard I would like to do business with. I want out the lease. He stated he would call his superior make mention of my concerns and see what he can do. He told me someone will call me in the morning, and if not I will receive and email advising me of further instructions from him. The next day O anticipate a response. I receive a response from Atlanta East office advising me to pay the difference of $153.00 in order for move in to be seamless. I pay $1230. 00. Friday comes, move in date, nothing happens no call no email. I call and email them. Reach out to agent prior, he then tells me to reach out to the customer service for move in. Main Street Renewal tell me that because the $150 was not paid 3 days prior my move in date will change. And they don't know what day at this point. I'll have to wait 3 business days for another follow up. I reach back out to the to the previous agent to understand where he was in getting the issue resolved with dissolving the lease and retuning me my money due to my dissatisfaction. He then has a New agent Taylor to call and see how she can make me happy, I admit my frustration to Taylor and advise her I am in the process of finding an attorney to communicate with them further because they have all my money and I am busy trying to cancel movers and installation a 2nd. And incur penalty for short notice. She then advised that when I find my legal team to let her know.

Please do not do business with this company they are what's wrong with renting. They prey on people at vulnerable times like moving and seeking a home. By coercion and gaslighting you to do business. I repeat "DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MAINSTREET RENEWAL"

Do not rent! They care zero about tenants safety.
We have rented from MS Renewal for 2 years. To say I've had a bad experience with them this week is beyond an understatement. First issue started last Tuesday. I awoke to my carbon monoxide going off. At first it was just beeping every 5 minutes and then it was going off and I silenced it twice. I called 911 and Main Street Renewal sent fire Marshall out to sweep the house and crawl space as we have gas heat. There was nothing detected. He advises the detector is old and should be replaced. I called and opened a ticketing stating fire Marshall said it was high priority due to no detector could be deadly if we have a leak. They set us as low priority maintenance repair for June 14th. Two weeks away.
Fast forward to today. A tree at the property line has falling and is teetering above my house. It hasn't crashed the roof yet but it's popping and cracking ready to fall. My neighbor called the authorities and they came out and advised us we should not sleep in the bedrooms tonight that is under the tree. He said not a matter of IF it would fall but WHEN it will fall.

Again we are marked as low priority on the maintenance request. Authorities told me to call back and give his name and number. Ive been on hold over an hour. So much for 24/7 staffing.

I will NEVER recommend MS Renewal to ANYONE! My family is in danger and they don't care. After over an hour on hold the call disconnected. I've left messages and call back numbers and they are not responding.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
My husband and I applied to a home and paid the application fees and sent in the papers. Main Street Renewal were very fast to ask for money and to check my credit but more than 5 business days have gone by and we haven't heard back. We have been calling every day and EVERY DAY is a 2+ hour hold. The first day I was told that the next day someone should be contacting me (that never happened). Called back again the next day (waited on hold for 2 hours) and the girl told me that she was going to send and email to the leasing agent because there were no notes in my profile and she should be calling or emailing me that day because 5 days have already gone by but of course no one called or emailed. Called again today and have been on the phone for over 2 hours and the guy has the nerve to tell me that he will email corporate to see if I can get an answer ( I have emailed them 2 times!). This is a horrible leasing company. If this is the process at the beginning, I cant imagine if something breaks and I would have to call or request anything. Running away! They can keep my deposit!

Do not rent from them... Take your hard earned money elsewhere.
April 20th 2021 my family and I moved into a property located in St. Petersburg FL.
The very same day we moved we notices thing right away that weren't right. The property had not been cleaned at all. The door locks were improperly installed. The plumbing in laundry room backed up and flooded the place and when cleaning up the water we quickly realized the water was disappearing quicker then we could mop it up. The water was running outside through the wall into the drive. The stove was unusable, when turned on it smelled of a strong sent of urine. 5am in the morning on 4/21 We heard what we thought were mice in the attic. Turns out the home is infested with wood rats. We contacted main street Renewal everyday for the last 2 weeks to get some help and Main Street Renewal have ignored us. We finally decided to get an exterminator whom told us we needed MSR permission to work on the property they called MSR and they told them no they couldn't come out and take care of the problems. My husband has argued with these people every day and they still refuse to send someone to take care of these huge ass RATS. WE ARE MOVING OUT TOMORROW AFTER BEING HERE FOR 2 WEEKS. WE FILED QITH THE COURTS IN OUR COUNTY TO GET OUT OF THE LEASE.

Terrible Company
This is by far the worst property management company I have ever rented from... I rented the house in January; 3 weeks before I arrived from the other side of the country. When I arrived, the house did not have heat or hot water and there were multiple other issues. Appliances did not work, there were electrical issues, water leaking issues from the second floor, roof issues and I was starting a new job in 3 days. Trust me when I say Main Street Renewal did not care and expected me to be available at a moments notice for repair people to come and "look" at what was wrong and then set another appointment, after they got approval, to fix the issue. I have been in the house almost 5 months and the repairs are still not completed. I was told that exposed electrical wiring (which their person left that way) was not critical and the maintenance request was closed. I have sent emails with pictures, opened numerous maintenance requests and have been on hold for hours to try and get things done. Today was the frosting on this horrible cake. They have been billing me for renters insurance since I moved in; I have sent my policy to multiple people via email and my agent has sent it 5 times to their office. After being on hold for 24 minutes I left my number for their level 2 rep to call me back. I received a call and was told that they had received my renters insurance policy multiple times but it did not meet their standardyou see the address that my agent put on the policy for MSR was not the Texas office, it was the local office, so I have to pay for their renters insurance policy; remember they verified that they have received my policy multiple times and they have never contacted me to tell me that even though they have proof of the policy and that I'm covered the address needed to be changed. And, I live in a very high-end house for the area, I would absolutely hate to see the houses that are mid-range rent.
So, do yourself a favor and do not walk away from a house that is managed by this company, but RUN!

STAY AWAY FROM MSR
If anyone is in court with Main Street Renewal, and need a witness, I will cooperate. I have been renting living in a home for five years then MSR introduced itself as the new mgmt company Jan 4,2021. I was on a month to month with the previous management. One week later, MSR sent notice of raising my rent and needed me fill out a new application stating for their records. During this time, I reported my oven being out January 11,2021. Third week in, Main Street Renewal rejected my app and said they can't rent to me. No oven replacement. They sent me the screening results which had a REJECT status and told me I can view the report that the screening bases its decision from. I did. The report had my income incorrect and the wrong NEW rent amount which indicates I do not meet the rental criteria, etc. I have been calling, sending emails, texts through the maintenance system and taking advantage of every avenue to get with these people. These people are everywhere and do not get back with you. It is Feb 20,2021 now. A new lease for me would be March 1st but I have to vacate the home because of their errors and them stating in their new lease renewal offer that if I am not signed into a new lease by March, the rent would be 1915. 00. I have been paying 1120. 00! And still no oven. They sent a text saying there is a nation wide shortage of appliances. If anyone is taking this company to court, or want to do a class action lawsuit, count me in. I went from sugar to s*** with this company. They will cause agony. I have decided to stop reaching out to them and just move on because there has to be a pot of gold on the other side. I have just humbled myself and accepted it is time to move on. God has a divine way of forcing us to move on. Stay away from this company.

Poor Customer Appreciation
I'm a disabled veteran, I've had better Customer appreciation fighting in the war. I signed a 2 year lease with this company and I really wish it was a 2 month lease. My least stated the after the first year my rent would increase by less than $100. I signed and set my account on autopay. Apparently when I paid my deposit I was $. 78 short. Yes, 78 cent short and Main Street Renewal continued to email me late payment notices. I eventually paid the $. 78 with a $3.60 processing fee. Once the 1st year expired my rent increased per the contract. Instead of drafting the new amount out of my bank, they continued to draft the 1st year total. Sadly, they didn't send me any notification about being $80 past due until 8 months later once the balance reach over $600 past due. They sent me an email on 12/7/2020 stating that I'm 7 days past due. When I called and spoke with the collections department, they stated that I should have been more proactive with my account and handling my customer portal better and that the email I JUST received is a courtesy email. So you mean to tell me that you were sending me emails for $. 78 monthly but you couldn't send me an email about $80 until 8 months later? Now I have all these late fees and I too have been impacted by the Pandemic and work. I pride myself on my bills being paid on time even if that means I can't eat today. This company has now allowed this to negatively impact my name and my values. The girl on the phone Jamila showed 0 concern on this problem happening. I will finish out this lease and be on my way to something much better. I will post this review on all social media platforms to include my Veterans to Veterans page which is more than 600k people. Thanks for treating your loyal customers like crap Mainstreet..

Unhelpful and uprofessionals
I have been transferred from New Jersey to Florida as I am essential worker. I tried this company to find a suitable home for me and my three kids in such a short notice. Main Street Renewal have been unhelpful with the application. They stated that my income was not enough and I had to get a guarantor. I put two guarantors and their combined income is over $250,000 and even then they said they were not qualified to be guarantors. I have sent over 10 emails requesting assistance with the application with no answer. I was on hold for over 30 minutes and I was told that in order to speak with someone I had to wait 48 hours for a return call back! Unacceptable as I have to have secured home by next Friday, June 26th. I asked to speak to a supervisor and I was told that the 24 to 48 hours apply as well. This company is unworthy to be working at all. They take advantage of people who are in need of a secure home. I will not recommend this company if my life depended on it.

They take applications and fee's even if the home is unavailable
I applied for a home that was showing available through their website. $80 and 4 days later, I have received no phone call, no emails, not able to get ahold of anyone. The automated phone just puts you on hold. I went back on the website and now the house is marked unavailable. I went this past sunday to do a self showing and there was a couple there with a leasing agent. Mind you this is 4 days after I had already paid the money for the application. When you pay the application fee, it states that Main Street Renewal are now holding the property for you while they review the application. This is a total lie. They are leaving these properties up, showing that they are available, taking people's application fees, all the while renting it out to whoever applied first. Absolute scam artists. They are making hundreds if not thousands of dollars just in application fees on each property with no intention of honoring their own policy. Do not even apply for a rental. Somebody already has it, they just don't want you to know that.

Fridge doesn't fit under cabinets
Fridge does not fit under kitchen cabinets, was told (in writing on April 2nd) the cabinet would be removed so the fridge could fit before we signed the lease. Move in day comes (4/21), and it's still not fixed. 4/23 a work order was submitted over the phone (the operator did it incorrectly), so another had to be submitted on 4/28.5/6 a maintenance technician was sent to my house to tell me that Main Street Renewal were never planning on removing the cabinet and that he had told them during our pre-move in inspection that a new fridge would need to be ordered. 5/13 Home Depot drops a fridge off in my garage but says they don't have the authority to install it or even bring it in the house because MS Renewal won't let them. I call MS Renewal to have someone install it and am told it will be 24-48 hours, even by a supervisor, before they can get someone out here. This is totally unacceptable that I'm having to deal with a fridge in the middle of my kitchen because they don't have the wits about them to handle this in a timely manner. They had 19 days before we moved in to fix it (but didn't), and now have had almost 3 weeks since we've moved in to deal with it (but haven't).

Is a home without hot water on day 1 liveable?
Water heater is dead on arrival. Only option is to pay ourselves or hope one of the vendor technicians wins a bid on how cheap Main Street Renewal can replace it for. MSR will not reimburse you. Not sure how legal it is to rent a home that isn't liveable on day 1. Yes, this didn't work from the start of our lease. We've had two technicians come out who could not fix the heater

MSR support is extremely impersonal. It's basically 1 giant call center that routes any issues to vendors. Our (non-certified) leasing agent primarily responded by email unless we called and happened to get her. No direct number. The home itself is great, besides the lack of hot water. But can I really attribute that to the management company.

And because it's now Saturday our chances of talking to anyone who can help us is slim to none. Great first week for a new Main Street Renewal customer! /s

Update: 7/11. MSR Provided a concession for the 6 days the water was out. I had calculated the amount I requested by taking rent and dividing it by 30 days. They gave me $15/day less for a total of $90 less than expected. I suppose that's fair since it was just the water.

Avoid avoid -ThIS IS THE Worst company I have ever deALT WITH IN HISTORY
I moved in one of their properties on March 24,2020. I applied 3/11 and was offered 500 gift card. I asked Sheena Williamson about the gift card 3/19 and she told me she was waiting for Barrie Bennett to reply. She came back and stated I would get it after 2 full months of rent were paid and to just email Barrie Bennett. So after June rent was paid I emailed Barrie Bennett the leasing agent and inquired about the move in offer and told oh no you were not eligible at the time you applied it was expired 5 days before. I then asked why was I not asked when I originally asked and so where did it state the expiration date on offer. Barrie replied she would forward to higher management and no one til this day has responded to me. It took this company 3 months to do any repairs from when I moved in 3/24, which I understood due to the pandemic. I put in numerous request and Main Street Renewal kept getting canceled until I started complaining. My air conditioner went out Friday 7/16, they referred me to a company Sunday 7/21 I called and emailed them twice everyday until Wednesday. I emailed Barrie Bennett about not getting in contact with any one and being without air for almost 5 days and she stated a work order was put in they should be contacting you, try contacting them instead of her assisting me by calling herself as a concerned Mainstreet employee. I had to call corporate to get a representative to help. The first company to whom Mainstreet sent the work order to was not accepting orders. The representative had to find another company that would take the work order. The new company sent someone out Yesterday 7/25 figured out that the fan was gone on the AC and needed and new one. I am still without AIR! I have not heard from them anymore! You can never get in contact with anyone from this company. If you do they have terrible customer service like Barrie Bennett. I am in a home I am paying 1725. 00 monthly. I can not get anything done with this company. I would never recommend them to anyone. I am going on my social network where I have over 38,000 followers to make sure everyone is aware!

The WORSE COMPANY EVER
I currently reside in Browns Summit, NC. This company actually gets no NO STARS! I have had worse issues in my home since day 1. The second day I was in my home my tub was stopped up, my second bathroom was leaking water under sink and the kitchen sink was leaking water. A few months later the kitchen sink was leaking more water. All of that was suppose to have been taken care of but a few months later right when covid hit, I noticed more leaking water from kitchen sink and was told it wasNOT an emergency so Main Street Renewal would not be coming out. The leak became bigger and filled my entire floor and was running down the back of the home. It took multiple people to come to the home before it was fixed and took 2 months. Every plumber blamed the next plumber. I also had issues w water backing up in dish washer. The main water source also had leaking water coming from in running onto my floor. Next there was leaking water from master bedroom sink. Took days to fix. I expressed my concerns that I belive mold was growing in the home due to smell... it smelled wet in my house w a strong odor. The maintenance guys were suppose to make sure of no mold but all they did was cover it up with wood. I NOW have a leaking shower with water running between the walls. This was discovered once mold began to grow on the roof of my garage ceiling and in my sons closet. They sent more people out one who went to jail the next day for stealing! Yes the next maintenance guy told me that when they returned. Over months I had been speaking with Rachel Closner in the triad area for months about my concerns and that I would like to be placed out the home because of so much water damage and due to mold. I knew there was growing mold from the start. She did NOTHING. She never apologized until I brought it up. To wrap this up, they did nothing to accommodate me for all the issues. I went weeks without being able to use my shower I lived in a home with mold for months. My kids and I being exposed to it. With this company doing NOTHING. They told me they could NOT accommodate me. Do NOT rent or buy from these people. They do not care about you and will allow you to live in harmful conditions.

SCAMMERS
This company is making alot of money scamming people to pay application fees on an empty house. Main Street Renewal charge 40 dollars for each person so if a couple is trying to rent the house it's $80. If you times that by 20 applicants it comes to $1600. They make more money leaving the house empty and notice that they have ALOT of empty houses. You get an inquiry on your credit report from them looking at your credit score but they never get back to you about an approval or denial and it's almost impossible to get them on the phone to check the status. You have to wait an hour on the phone or more to talk to someone. I am going to continue to write reviews and report them to the Better Buisness Company until they are completely shut down. Scammers!

We love our new Home, they made us fell special.
When I first saw the bad reviews, I almost went with a different property company. Mr Teague was great he always emailed me back, if he needed more information from me. It took me a few times to apply because at the time my credit was NA. I built my credit up and re applied, Christian went out of his way to let us know, he really wanted to help us. After all I was moving my business to Georgia from California with two you young children. Once we got approved, we packed and stayed at a hotel for 3 days in Georgia. On the 5th day, we recieved our Lock box code, removed the keys and opened the door. We were very surprised, all new counter tops, new carpet, new floor tiles, new appliances. Now we can focus on our business, we feel very thankful and super blessed.

HOMEOWERS. When they come to your neighborhood
MSRENEWAL BOUGHT THE Property next to me. After almost 19 years and 10 months of living in this quiet neighborhood, I now am forced to put up a fence between my property and the property that MainStreet Renewal owns. Main Street Renewal send people to cut grass and cut 1/3 of my property as well. They have broken my water meter cover without apology. When you call this company to right these wrongs, no one takes responsibility! They don't seem to care as they are owned by apparently many investors and one person you deal with has nothing to do with what another person deals with. It's like, I just open the door, I don't go through it. No one will get back to me when I make phone calls and when I speak to the person who "just" Checks the House, He has nothing to do with the grass cutter nor did he bother to report it to the investors. If you see MainStreet renewal signs going up in your neighborhood, it is not a good thing! No one bothers to look at a DEED! My only recourse will be calling the police EVERYTIME there is an issue to document! There are 0 stars for this monster of a CORPORATION but my review will only be seen to HELP YOU SO I HAD TO PUT A ONE.

Renters beware
I fell in love with one of Msrenewals homes. My original leasing agent was great... at first... I have two service dogs, even shows that in my application when i applied for the house. Yet the first leasing agreement I was sent only showed one, and i had a remaining pet deposit for the other. I advised my agent that I had two not one service dog, she said oh I'm so sorry let me fix that, and send me another lease to sign, so I signed it and thought nothing else of it. She told me i had to pay 200$ in prorated charges and 1495 in rent. She never mentioned a security deposit of any sort, matter of fact i even asked about one and she said nope, just pay the 1695 and you're all set. (Even had my roommate in the room with me during all of this.) Well it even got better my second month of rent would be half off! Well, come move in day the morning I'm on my way to move into this new house i get an email from another employee saying i can't move in, i have a fee for a dog deposit unpaid... But wait? My leasing agent at Dallas Leasing told me i didn't have to pay any fees for my pets since their service animals? Well some how now i can't find the lease she readvised. But I did get an automated email stating she revised my lease, but i was told that wasn't correct and the agent denied doing so... Well what about the second month of rent half off? Nope thats false too apparently everyone else got that special but me... I was given no sympathy or help, in other words i was a liar and was never told those things from the Dallas leasing office... MS renewal was nice and sympathetic, but as far as Dallas leasing office i hope to never deal with any of them again EVER! How could i know all this information if i wasn't told it?!?!?!?... Don't promise or inform people of incorrect things. I had to cough up another 1695 i wasn't aware about less than a month of paying the last 1695. My fault for not screenshotting documents from this company. My advise is screenshot and record every conversation with this company cuz you're a liar if you have no proof. I hope no one else experiences anything from this company any finds another agency to deal with, or MS renewal finds another leasing office that is trustworthy. My fault for being a trustworthy person and not screens hotting the second lease i signed that seems to have disappeared...

Save yourself the Frustration!
Short story. The reviews below are not a hoax. This company is hoax. I paid my deposit to hold a home which was given to someone else. I located a 2nd home which I was scheduled to move into on 7/25/20 however the dates kept moving due to "Construction". I drove pass this home on 3 separate occasions and no construction could be seen or heard at this residence. The date was moved from 7/25,7/28,8/4 then back to 7/31/20. I place calls several time a day requesting to speak to a Manager but no one responded. I even sent messages through the messenger portal on facebook. Everyone I spoke to stated that Main Street Renewal were escalating my call to a manager but I am yet to hear back from a manager. I finally moved into the home and to my dismay the shower faucet head was still missing. I cannot take a shower in my bathroom because there is no faucet handle to turn on the shower. The house was never cleaned, the dishwasher racks are broken so you cannot load dishes. The water would not drain out. The kitchen sink is leaking so you cannot turn on the water to wash dishes. My first day in this home is already a disaster. I contacted the number sent to me in my welcome email to place a work order. The first available day to have a plumber come out to fix the sink, dishwasher and bathroom is 8/19/20. Then they send out an email and one of the paragraphs reads as follows:

Per your lease:
Damages caused by abuse or misuse of any component at the property will be charged to the Resident. We will rely upon the service contractor to inform us as to the cause of the problem. A list of common requests that result in resident charges include: clogged drains, clogged toilets, clogged disposal, dirty AC filters, AC thermostats with dead batteries, light bulb replacements (under 8ft), rekeys. Expect the minimum cost to be $100.00. The resident should do everything they can to handle these issues to prevent potential charges. Any repair related to a property defect such as roots in the sewer, a filled septic tank, or collapsed sewer pipe will not be assessed to the resident ledger.

How can you be held accountable for something that you met on the 1st day you moved into a home.
This company is all about money. Their agents are rude, and their customer service is horrible.

Trust the Reviews and Rent Elsewhere!
If you are considering renting from them, I strongly encourage you to rent from a different property management company. Read the reviews on Yelp, Better Business Bureau, and other websites. If everyone is saying similar things, Main Street Renewal probably aren't all lying.

We moved into a house in early June with a 20+ year old AC unit infested with mold and leaking. We reported the issue within a week, and they didn't fix it until over a month later. Additionally, we had a non-working stove, oven, and dishwasher upon move in. This made it quite challenging to cook in the middle of a pandemic. We reported this issue within a week. We did not have a working stove, oven, or dishwasher until 45 days after move in.

We submitted a request for financial compensation to account for the house clearly not being ready for tenants when we moved in. Today, 79 days after we moved in, they offered us $100... We are dumbfounded that this is all they feel necessary. I believe this speaks volumes to the type of business they are - one that does not put customers first, rather treats them as an inconvenience, and solely focused on their bottom line.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY-Take these reviews seriously
I wish I could leave negative stars and I am posting this review every where that I possibly can. I am currently in a lease with them in the Memphis branch and it has been a nightmare.
Communication from the office is AN ABSOLUTE JOKE and Main Street Renewal would rather be cheap than take care of their residents. I have had to continually call to follow up on the same maintenance request because a week will go by and no communication.
I was charged an insurance non-compliance fee of $25 when I have had active insurance my entire living here. When calling the office, they couldn't give me any answers and they said they would have someone from the corporate office who handles the insurance reach out to me, well it has been over a month and nothing.

I have put in repeated work orders for the drainage issues in my backyard for MONTHS. We moved into a house because we wanted our dogs to have a backyard to play in rather than having to take them to the park or walk them on a leash and have not been able to use the backyard since September because our dogs will be covered in mud. We moved in August 2019 and I noticed the backyard has some odd weedy growths and some possible problematic sloping. Once a few rains happened, it was apparent that the yard had MAJOR drainage issues. Middle of August I contacted the office over the phone (now wishing I had it writing) regarding the trench that started to form and they told me to put it on my 30-day work order list which I submitted in September. The MainStreet maintenance guy politely informed me that the backyard would be an outside vendor job and that it probably will take a little longer to get it approved. Well after much hounding and stress from my end, FIVE MONTHS later and SEVEN work orders later they finally approved for vendors to come out. The vendor did not contact me, and the office did not contact me even though the asst. Manager said they would keep me updated and "personally call me" as soon as they know something. The vendors came out on Jan 17 and did the work while I was not home. I came home to see fresh dirt in my backyard, but I have NO IDEA what was done because that next day the back yard is flooded again. It seems like the investors/whoever the powers-that-be would rather not spend money on their properties to keep tenants long term because I can assure you we will not be staying in this home and will never rent from MainStreet ever again.

Scam
NEVER EVER EVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. From day 1 we have had issues with payments. Poor communication and poor automatic payment systems. Now as I write this Main Street Renewal are telling us we are making up things that we have been told several times. They have been keeping $1134. 14 of OUR money since April 27th. We have reasoned, been patient and called Mainstreet Renewal several times. We were told initially that we would be overnighted then we were told that it couldn't be overnighted and then EMILY assured us on May 7th that it would be put into the mail ASAP. Well it's almost a week later and they still haven't gotten around to putting OUR money in the mail. You can never talk to anyone with any real power just people with scripts who give you the same illogical reasoning on why YOUR at fault for a faulty system and then holding money that isn't there. I've heard "You authorized the payment." Because stupidly enough I figured putting the last day of our lease was how to set up and automatic payment. I didn't realize that at the end of our lease they would "ignorantly through no fault of their own" authorize and additional payment that doesn't even makes sense.

This business is shady, unreliable and does not care what they take or what mistakes they have made to provide the worst rental situation We have ever experienced. It been my experience that ANYONE WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING TO SHUT YOU UP WHILE THEY HOLD MONEY THAT ISN'T OWED TO THEM.

They are trying to tell us now that it will come back with our security deposit. That's about ten different levels of illegal and fraudulent behavior. Apparently, they are incapable of refunds. They are incapable of stopping automatic payments when a lease ends and they've receive the last months rent. They are incapable of correcting mistakes that are caused by poor customer service and poor payments systems.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.

WORST company ever
3 years rented and its been the worst 3 years I have ever seen for a property regarding their lack of care, terrible maintenace and work order handling and the renters seem to care about their properties more than Main Street Renewal do! Every 1 star review you see is true! Need anything fixed? Maintenaced? NOT going to happen with 2 sets of people to take pics and then never doing anything about it. Front porch tile is kitchen tile and its cracked because its laid wrong and really slick. Our fence post uprooted from a storm, all that had to happen is to get a new post and reconcrete it back in ground but as you see in pic thats what they did, look at the stakes used to hold it up to house! Huge tree is totally taking over the house and unsafe for any weather and hazard to house, but of course no one is going to trim it! They are quick to take your money but are quick to ignore you. TERRIBLE COMPANY! STAY AWAY!

BEYOND THE WORST EVER!
BY THE WAY THIS IS A NO STAR ****Why I did no tread the comments and reviews before applying with this company! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL! Main Street Renewal DO NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS. THEY DO NOT FOLLOW UP WITH CUSTOMERS AT ALL! THIS IS JUST BEYOND SAD. WHEN YOU CALL THE APPLICATIONS DEPARTMENT THEY KEEP YOU ON HOLD FOR 30 MINUTES OR MORE THEN WILL HANG UP ON YOU. YOU HAVE TO CALL BACK BE ON HOLD FOR ANOTHER HOUR FOR THEM TO TELL YOU NOTHING! THEY DO NOT KNOW WHATS GOING ON THEY CAN NOT GIVE YOU A UPDATE ON YOUR APPLICATION. THEY WOULD SUGGEST YOU EMAIL THE AGENT IN YOUR REGION FOR THEM TO NOT REPLY BACK OR FOLLOW UP! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLLE! HOW ARE YOU GUYS OPERATING! IT STATES THAT YOU ARE WORKING FROM HOME I GUESS THATS THE REASON YOU ARE NOT COMMUNICATING! SEAN DOBSON YOU NEED A ENTIRE STAFF THAT'S WILLING TO WORK AND PROVIDE ADEQUATE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Don't place your family's safety into Mainstreet's hands.
RUN AS FAST AND AS FAR AS YOU CAN! Do not place your family's safety in the hands or homes of Mainstreet Renewal! Please do not make the same mistake that myself and many others have made. I entered my lease apprehensively, I had read the reviews and had already experienced horrible service trying to enter the lease but I had a great experience with my last property management company and this home was brand new so I foolishly thought, what could go wrong or need repairing? There have been many issues but the most serious has been the safety of myself and my family. 3 months after moving in I discovered that someone has been coming and going in my attic and quite possibly my home too. I contacted the local police department and during the investigation one of my neighbors informed us that Mainstreet was aware of this security issue! He stated that shortly before I moved in he was approached by a woman with Mainstreet that asked him if he had noticed anyone coming or going that she was concerned that it appeared someone had been in and out of the attic and the home. I immediately contacted the "Resident Care Specialist" that I had already been escalated to regarding other issues that Main Street Renewal refuse to fix (I won't even go into how they refuse to honor the advertised credit. Or fix a major leak that has resulted in 2 months of high water bills, and eventually led me to completely shut the water of to my irrigation system, which will eventually result in the grass dying. Or how they have already said that if the grass dies I will be responsible to re-sod the property even after they have refused to fix the known leak.) It had been more than 10 days and they are still refusing to search the attic thoroughly, secure the home and change all the locks which is what I have requested, and what the police officers suggested I have Mainstreet do. I have not been able to safely re-enter the home or stay in the home in over 10 days. Not only is that frustrating since I pay a significant amount for the home, but I also have 3 small children. Finding a place to stay would be difficult during normal times, but add that we are now in the Covid-era, and it becomes even more difficult and unacceptable! So I will try to spare someone else from making the same mistake that I have done and will state it again, RUN FAST AND FAR, DO NOT PUT YOUR FAMILY'S SAFETY INTO MAINSTREET'S HANDS!

Horrible company
Moved in Aug of 2020 and have had numerous issues. When we arrived there was no stove or refrigerator. Water poured from underneath the kitchen sink when water was turned on. There was roaches and it also smelled like gas. So after a month and half of living there finally received our stoves and refrigerator ( mind u we have 5 kids). The lights in one of the room wasn't working upon move in date. A/c went out about 2 months after moving in. Had to wait 2 weeks for that to be repaired ( it's was getting up to the 90's when this happened). After that the flooring in one of the room started cracking. Main Street Renewal sent out one of their bootleg techs who just came and took pictures. Then about a week later the guys they sent out to repair the floor were high strong smell of marijuana. Now this was Nov 20 something they tore the floor up in the bedroom. The bedroom smells of STRONG mildew and mold and they claimed they seen bed bugs in the wood ( idk how that's possible I think they were tweaking from being high). It's Dec 21 and my floor is STILL tore up and not repaired. Now we have a rodent problem. Was told we will have to pay for our own pest control. The bootleg tech they sent out lied and said he checked entry points for the rodents but lied. Every morning I'm waking up to be inspector gadget for droppings. Remind u I have 5 children and I have asthma as well. My husband and I have been looking for an attorney to get out of this lease. We moved here from Wisconsin and this has been the WORST rental experience we've ever had.

Not getting any help from Mainstreet and they have left us on the streets
I am renting from this company right now. For months I complained about mold, it flooded twice, there are bats Main Street Renewal have not yet taking care of. When they finally decided to get rid of the mold they gave me less then 24 hrs to pack myself and two kids to go to a hotel. I was suppose to hear something today to see if I could go home since the hotel was only good for until today and no one has called me back or emailed. I have tons of emails and called with no help! Clearly they are only concerned about money and not the health or safety for myself and my children! I would stay far far far away from this company! I will be getting in touch with the news again tomorrow and hopefully shine light on how awful this company is! Kerry Dabbs was supposed to help me get this fixed and they left my garage wide open and now my special needs daughters bike has been stolen a few of our other belongings! I'm a single parent and pay my rent on time and they refuse to relocate us or let me out of my lease so now that the hotel is up and all my money they got for the rent for this month for a place that isn't safe to stay in the refuse to return call or emails or anything and I have two very sick children from this! Horrible horrible people
