At 62 years old, and very experienced in the world of rc planes, I am a very easy going amicable guy, not quite what you would call nasty or cynical, but, from my own experience, and googling similar scenarios to my own, would be very very suspect that a lot of reviews for this company may be self written to keep the numbers up.
I bought a rc plane, the motor seized on 1st flight, and NitroTek said it was my fault, I should have informed them upon delivery day it was faulty.
Very hard to do when it is supplied in kit form.
I found the communication from them, and the tone of messages, more than rude, and not at all customer friendly. ~

Well Mr Nitrotek, This is England and yes i do, you sold me faulty goods, I have consumer rights and buyer protection through PayPal, so I will be having my £140 back whether you like it or not.
I can only say, in a hope I may help someone else who may possibly fall into the trap of a nice looking website ~ BUYER BEWARE ~ AND PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ~ GOOGLE REVIEWS OF THIS COMPANY BEFORE you give them your hard earned cash.

My I suggest it is safer going on a well known auction site and you will have security. My problem now is 3 days later I do not have my sons birthday present!
Their reason for scanning my passport was they wanted a picture; I told them you are fine to take my picture, take details from my passport but not actually take it out of my sight and scan it. They leave you in a hall of an old mill and shut the service counter hole so you have no idea. Service and customer relations are zero. I have reported to the Police and Trading standards.
Their help, they cancelled my order so I am now struggling to get my son his birthday present on time. So disappointing as they are a local company and I would rather support local always but not in this case.
Companies need to protect themselves from fraud understandable but this is not acceptable, can you think of any time you have bought online and collected where they want to not look at your ID but scan it. This is also against the data protection act.
I even phone to try and speak to someone in sales and they were not interested, the person on the next desk would not speak to me. Remember also I went in person, imagine if you do not live local!
I ordered two nitro remote control cars from you (order number #100027762) at considerable expense, over £350,00, for Christmas presents this year. After opening them on Christmas day neither would run despite watching your DVD, visiting your website and watching scores of videos on youtube. Five hours later I decided to give up, causing misery to my son and nephew on Christmas day.
I have been trying the car (Condor pro) constantly since and have discovered that it is not possible to blow through the connection between the rubber tube and the top of the exhaust. The car will start when primed but cuts out almost immediately.
My brother in law has the other car (NBC Truggy) and has informed me he has spent over eight hours since Christmas day trying to start his and although it does occasionally start it also cuts out immediately and is incredibly difficult to start in the first place. Information I have researched from the internet says the car should not be this difficult to start as it comes pre set from the factory.
I have traced one of the problems back to a faulty exhaust (condor pro) The valve that connects the top of the exhaust to the top of the fuel tank is blocked. I spent £49 on a new exhaust from a different shop and the car started immediately, however during the first tank run in the gears stripped themselves without even touching the throttle! Would like either a replacement car or a refund or I will be going to trading standards as I was sold a faulty vehicle. The second car I was sold won't even start despite being primed (nbc truggy) research suggests these cars should not be this impossible to start and I would also like this car replaced or refunded and I will buy from a different company!

My son purchased a 1/20 Airsoft BB RC Tank - USA M60 on July 21st which failed to fire after 6 BB (20 mins including some driving)
It was returned to Nitrotek as soon as possible requesting a refund as the tank failed so soon, and was not satisfactory quality or fit for purpose. It arrived with them within 10 days of purchase after waiting for return numbers and postage etc.
It took them almost 4 weeks to acknowledge its return and refused a refund offering to fix and return it, saying my son had possibly loaded dirty BB (they were brsnd new.) To cut a very long story short it took at least 10 phone calls, and the best part of 30 emails - until late December to get a full refund on the tank and a further week or 2 to get the return postage back.
They are the worst company I have ever dealt with by a very long way, they want to make your claim last so long you quit and take the repaired item back, they held £58 belonging to a dissapointed 14yr old for 5 months. If you have no product issues you may be OK, but my advice - avoid at all costs.
I would definitely recommend reading other reviews before buying from this site.
As stated by other reviews the returns T & Cs are immoral and some of them breach what is stated in consumer regulations, sales of goods act etc etc
Im currently going through my bank to get this resolved but I have also been mailed the issue over to trading standards.
Totally avoid this company and shop elsewhere, just check out other review sites and the customers who have had the same issues with returns.
I received a Nitro Truck as a christmas present for my brother. Immediately it could be seen to be poor quality.
After correctly setting up, the radio controller would continually disconnect.
The truck was taken to a local professional model shop, where it was indeed diagnosed as faulty ( and poor quality).
Contacting Nitrotek to return, I had to pay for expensive return postage myself.
After over a month of waiting, and contacting Nitrotek, NitroTek came back saying the truck was fine and wanted additional payment to post back.
Arguments back and forth ensued, but their customer service has been terrible.
All I want is a refund so I can move on from this, but they outright refuse.
Do not deal with NitroTek!
I ordered an RC tank for my sons birthday and it didn't work. It made me as the father feel awful as he was incredibly disappointed.
I ordered immediately another one from Amazon which arrived the next day and worked straight away.
I returned the broken article to Nitrotek.
They refused to refund.
They sent a report on the item admitting the receiver they sent was faulty. But they refused to refund.
They based their refusal by saying another component had been damaged in transit back to them and this was my fault.
There are a few problems with this:
1) it could have been originally sent in this damaged condition, the receiver was.
2) it could have been damaged during transit to me, I took a picture of the box on arrival it was battered.
3) Is it really damaged? I asked twice for a picture of it, they never sent me one.
Note you cannot talk to anybody, everything is by email. They wait for 24 hours before they reply to emails.
I've resorted to making a section 75 claim on my credit card.
Internet commerce thrives by building and sustaining a reputation for reliability. This company will not last another 12 months.
Don't be sucked in by positive trustpilot reviews. They offer a discount following purchase if you leave a 5 star review! I was suckered into this one.

You know what, I give up. It just isn't worth the hassle. Your systems may tell you that the item was included in the delivery, but it simply wasn't. Someone made a mistake when they processed the despatch, it happens, but the true measure of a company is in how they deal with these mistakes.
So you are leaving a customer that has paid for goods they have not received. There is simply no way I would have been spending time following this up for about £10 if I had received the parts.
I'm afraid I made the mistake of not searching for reviews of Nitrotek before buying from you, I will not make the mistake again. I now know your after ales service has frankly the worst reviews I have ever seen, and my experiences have confirmed that those reviews are entirely justified. Your company clearly has an entirely deliberate policy to invest absolutely nothing in after sales, for example it is impossible to speak to anyone on the phone unless you want to buy something. That speaks volumes.
It must be a truly depressing business to work for, you have my sympathy.
For the sake of a tenner, you have left me totally frustrated and unsatisfied, and depressed at the precious time I have had to waste dealing with Nitrotek.
Your after sales service will eventually put you out of business, take my word for it."
I hand delivered the car back to them for repairs In November and was told to expect a two week turn around. It got to December and they told me to expect it to be 4 weeks (I had to chase them, they didn't bother to inform me of any delays)
It's now January the 16th and I'm still having to chase them, and honestly I am going to be contacting my bank and the CBA to pursue a full refund.
This company sent me a faulty item which was covered in scratched and dints, poorly packaged and not fit for purpose. Upon contacting them I was given a ticket number and told someone would be in touch. A few days passed and nothing. Then I received a reply thanking me for my order but no reference to the complaint I had made. I had to contact the company owner through my paypal transaction and he declined the return/refund request and basically told me it wasn't in my best interests to send it back.
So dispute escalated through paypal. I have one the case and can now send the item back for a full refund but I have to cover the cost of returning this item. Poor customer services and a total rip off, Im so glad I paid through paypal, otherwise I would of had to fight for a refund. Will never use them again. Check out the other reviews poor reviews and think twice before ordering.
