Within 8 months, the batteries died so I took them back since O'Reilly Auto Parts were "under warranty". O'Reillys replaced the batteries with new ones which carried the same 12 month warranty. Within 9 months the replacement 6V batteries were dead. I again returned the batteries and was concerned this was now the second time I had to replace these batteries. O'Reillys replaced the batteries with new ones and I went on my way hoping this was the last issue. Luckily I was dealing with someone who had a bit of common sense on this first issue. Within 8 months, guess what, these batteries were dead, so I did what anyone would do. I returned to O'Reillys and asked them to replace the batteries since they are still under warranty. They told me the batteries were no longer under warranty since they use the "Original Purchase Date: which was now over 2 years ago. I asked why they were selling a product that would not last a minimum of 12 months and why they think it is logical to try and apply a warranty from 2 sets of batteries ago that had nothing to do with the ones I was returning. Their response, "even though these batteries were purchased within the last 8 months, we apply the warranty from the original purchase". I demanded to speak with a regional manger about the issue and guess what... he said the same thing. Common sense would say if you give a consumer a product and tell them it has a 12 month warranty, that warranty should start from the time you took that specific product. O'Reillys management and staff however lack the common sense to see that each product is independent of the others and should therefor restart a warranty when giving a customer a replacement part. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out each set of batteries was poorly manufactured thus resulting in battery failure before the 12 month warranty. Rather than ceasing to do business with the manufacturer of the battery, O'Reillys has felt it is a smart idea to provide their customers with a poor product and then replace it with the same poor product knowing it won't last and they don't care. As a very simple comparison, if you, the consumer was to buy a car with a 3 year warranty and the car was found to be ineffective, was then given a new car, one would think this "new car" would have no issues and would definitely not be compared to the other car. If you are a person with absolutely no common sense, no concern for customers you serve or lack of integrity please apply for a position at oreillyauto.com where they are always looking for someone who can help push their junk inventory to the public.
Sincerely,
Someone who cares about others.
I ordered a Jeep Hitch but O'Reilly Auto Parts shipped me a pump instead. I called back and told them I can ship the pump back or drop it at their local store and asked them to ship me a hitch. However, their customer service was quite impatient and told me that they will never ship my hitch to me unless they found the missing one.
I argued that it was not my fault shipping the hitch to a wrong place. Moreover, it's not my responsibility to wait for an unknown period of time because of their fault.
However, the customer service kept saying that I have to wait till they found "MY" hitch. Their logic is quite stupid because: before I receive hitch, it's not mine. All duty is lay upon the O'Reilly store or the carrier.
I asked the store the ship me another hitch or give me an estimation on when they can find "MY" missing hitch but they told me, impatiently, they won't ship me anything and, there is no maximum waiting time before they can find "MY" hitch.
Now I required for a refund and will buy the hitch from their competitor.
I do online shopping for over 15 years. O'Reily Online Store is the worst one I ever met. If you want to buy something from them, you'd better stop.
In these times, every penny counts and this store went above and beyond to ensure every cent that we paid counted and wasn't waisted. You don't find that too often. Thank you for your focus on customer service.
O'Reilly's has them too, but not a lot of people know that behind the counter (you have to ask for it) there is a whole catalog of paint chemicals and supplies and a handful of stores even mix their own paint if you can provide a paint code off the car in question.
Chemicals, sanders, paint guns, safety gear. Primer, sealer, reducer, paint, hardener, clear coat, activator. Lacquer, acrylic, urethane. O'Reilly Auto Parts can get their hands on some amazing things... but make sure you're selecting the proper combination of chemicals (make sure they all have the same base).
Our Parts Professionals will install wiper blades and replacement bulbs free of charge (with purchase of wiper blades or bulbs). Whether you've bought front or rear wipers (or both), headlights or tail lights, we'd be happy to install them for you.
O'Reilly Auto Parts refused. Will not go back there again.
