Floor to carpet transition
Our job was fairly easy, or so we thought. Our job consisted of removing carpet from our breakfast (137 sq ft) nook and installing vinyl planking. Although it took him all day, the porch handyman did a good job of installing our vinyl wood plank flooring, but he did a terrible job with the floor to carpet transition strips. When he removed the carpet, he did not leave enough carpet flap even though my husband told him to. He said he'd ‘take care of it.' Well, he didn't. What was left were two incomplete transitions. I called porch the following day asking them to send me an experienced floor person to complete, Porch did, but it was the same handyman! Still looking for someone to correct the job.

Porch's Mind Blowing Incompetence
We had porch lawn services for two years, typically Spring through Fall and would put on pause during the winter. The contractors Porch use for lawn services switched almost every appointment and never showed up the day they were supposed to. They were consistently 2-3 days late. Having my lawn cut on a specific day was never a huge deal so we let it slide but my recent interaction with them has caused me to write this review and to make the decision to never use any of porch's services. I called in to reactive my lawn service for Spring through Fall this year, was given an exact start date and thought all was done, set to auto bill with bi-weekly service. Day of appointment comes, and guess who doesn't show up? You guessed it, Porch once again. So I call in to ask where my contractor is and find out they never reactivated my service and that it would take another 2 weeks to get someone to come out! Unbelievable... the incompetence is truly mind blowing.

Worst service ever
It was worst ever, the so-called ill-mannered, asthmatic, weak and patient Porch sent to fix our huge king size royal bed. He brought a pickup truck & a dolly to move a King-sized furniture. He was wearing tank top and shorts and he was not even in uniform which I was expecting from this so called-huge company. This person was not even wearing mask and gloves which I offered him and I offered him hand sanitizer too which he rejected to use. He Was coughing and sweating and above all he was throwing his cough and sweat particles in the entire house. We got effected from his behavior which was extremely disturbing and unacceptable. He created a scene in our apartment and our neighbors came out and when they saw the scene they all said he is no doubt a drug user. He was a drug user and my neighbors are now going to file case against him coz of the scene he created and left our stuff in middle of the street and for shouting out loud. It was very heavy and we were suppose to give him 99 for 2 hours but he worked just 1 hour and rest he spent his time on call and 20 minutes he spent in the restroom and didn't compensate the time he wasted in his activities. My younger brother helped him when he saw that he was asthmatic and weak. He Disturbed our entire apartment so badly. He had no manners and left everything in between the Main Street. Which was unethical. Very poor experience. The company should rather fire him or close their company because no Person on this planet earth would tolerate this kind of poor service they provided me.

Small Home Improvement
Hired "handyman" with 44 years experience. Big mistake! Terminated him before project completed because he left us with a huge mess, did not cover anything up while tape, bedding and painting. Had to use our personal dumpster to haul off debris, just not up to standards. Way too expensive for what little result we received. Would not recommend, refer and definitely no hire. Extremely poor rating.

Jamie was great. Scheduling was not.
I scheduled Porch to send someone out to do several repairs to my house. Fix wood rot in a door frame, repair dry wall, install a new toilet. The morning of the repairs I was contacted and told there had been double-booking of jobs for my repairman. Was told he'd be about 5 hours late. It was rescheduled several times during the day and we ultimately had to delay the work by a week. My only complaint is with the scheduling department. Jamie and his ultimate work product were great.

Waste of Time!
First Porch scheduled me to have a window a/c installed on 5/26,(a Sunday). This was the Memorial Day weekend. Then the day they were suppose to install the a/c they call me saying they have to reschedule because it's a holiday weekend. They now reschedule me 4 days later to 5/31 at 10:00am. I call them to confirm the day before which they assure me someone will call 1hr before my 10:00am appointment. The day of the appointment no one calls. I call them at 9:40am, then I'm told they couldn't locate a guy for the job and they will find another person to do the installation. I then inform them how disappointed I was in their unprofessionalism and that I'll be looking at other places to complete the job. Within 20mins they call me saying they can have someone else over by me by 3:00pm. I told them I was no longer interested.

Great service!
I needed some doors trimmed after new carpets were installed, but was having trouble finding someone in the area. I was a little skeptical about how simple it was to request the service on Porch, but Porch were able to connect me with someone to do the job within a week for the day I selected. He reached out to me the day before my appointment to confirm the details, arrived when he said he would, and completed the job efficiently. I'm really pleased with my experience!

The experience was very fluid, I call to get information...
The experience was very fluid, I call to get information regarding having some ceiling fans installed and I get an appointment very quickly, The HM came on time, he was very polite and very knowledgeable and he did the job under the amount of time it was estimated, he was very clean, the only problem was an issue with the payment at the end, it was a bit complicated. But everything else was pretty good.

Kitchen Sink Install
Patrick, my Porch.com contractor, contacted me within several minutes of adding my project and continued to do so until everything was finished. We talked about what work I needed to have done so he could make sure he had all materials needed to complete the job. He showed up on time and continued communicating everything he was doing. The end result was a beautifully installed kitchen sink. He took his time making sure everything was perfect.

It really looked a lot better than before and the floor is rock solid.
This project started out small and got larger once we discovered the true water damage to my laundry room. But, we all took it in stride and removed the damage wood and drywall, dried everything else, installed new floor, tile and drywall. The result was wonderful. My husband and I will put the finishing touches on it, but it was a wonderful transformation and we love it. I will definitely call Free My Timber, Inc anytime I need more work completed.

Floor repair
We needed a bathroom floor replaced. Floor Decor and more not only repaired our floor but we discovered that we had a toilet leak and needed also to repair the wall behind the toilet. Porch repaired the wall, repainted the bathroom, repaired the floor, laid new vinyl down and put in a new toilet all in one day. They were very professional and kept us updated about what was going on. We are very happy with the service we received.

Horrible - cancelled with less than 24 hours notice
My husband and I were looking to hire someone to help us install floor and door trim in our new condo we had been remodeling.

I started my process with Porch by inputting my zip code and project needed. I was promptly called and assigned a service date two weeks out. I gave my address as this time. My husband and I delayed moving into our new condo because we thought it would be easier for the installer to work without our furniture. We also stayed up nights after work (during the holidays) to get the trim painted and prepped for the installer.

At 4PM the night before our install (at 10AM the next morning), I receive a voicemail and text from Porch saying my service is being cancelled due to "no providers in the area" which shocked me as I had given them my address and zip code earlier in the process.

Ridiculous.

Porch does not stand behind its work
I used a Porch handyman to have some fairly simple stuff fixed around the house. Porch charged me $90 an hour. I needed the handyman to fix a continuous slow leak from the toilet tank into the toilet bowl (no leaks outside the toilet or on the floor). The handyman inspected the toilet but told me he couldn't repair the leak because he did not have an overflow tube which is what was causing the water to continuously leak from the tank into the bowl. The handyman showed me that he adjusted the water level adjustment rod so the water would not rise as high in the tank and slow the leak but not stop it.

That evening, I came home to find my bathroom floor full of water. The water tank was leaking water on the floor. I turned off the water source to the toilet immediately and contacted Porch the next day. The Porch "project manager" contacted the handyman who says he "did not work on the toilet". Every time I asked Porch to take action on this, I got a response that the handyman said he did not worked on the toilet. TOTAL LIE! My toilet was not leaking water on the floor before the handyman inspected it and adjusted the water lever. I asked Porch to send someone else out to fix it, but Porch said this handyman had to go back out to my house to fix it because they had already paid him for the work. After going back and forth with Porch 16 times, they refused to do anything about fixing what the handyman had damaged! The project manager was super slow to respond every time. He would tell me in the morning he'd look into it and get back to me as soon as possible, but I would not hear from him again until I followed up for a status update in the late afternoon.

Even though I put in the order comments section what I needed done, the handyman couldn't fix three of the more pressing items: he did not have the overflow tube so couldn't fix the original slow leak into the toilet bowl, he didn't have a balance shoe part to fix a window that did not stay open, and he didn't have a long enough ladder to change a high ceiling light bulb. At $90/hour, I would think he would be more professional and preparedespecially since I noted what needed to be fixed ahead of time on the order form.

My advice, use a local handyman who cares about the quality of his work and his reputation in the area where you live. In my experience with Porch, they could care less about standing behind the quality of their work and their customer service is unresponsive and useless.

Excellent job on roof extension over my deck
Oscar did an amazing job on adding the roof extension. He was able to come to my house immediately upon reaching out to me and was starting the work the very next day. He was very professional and knowledgeable throughout the entire process. Very satisfied customer and highly recommend!

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED, THIS WAS THE FIRST AND LAST TIME I'D USE THEM OR RECOMMEND THEM.
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED, THIS WAS THE FIRST AND LAST TIME I'D USE THEM OR RECOMMEND THEM. HomeAdviser referred Porch.com for a small project - an indoor double door installation, following the referral, Porch contacted me via text and phone call to schedule an appointment, a date and time they suggested and I agreed to. They then proceeded to follow-up with additional reminder text messages and emails confirming the date and time... all good, I was thinking this is good, two days prior to the scheduled appointment, they asked if the date/ time could be moved out or if I preferred to keep it at the originally scheduled time, which I did - they said ok (meaning keep it at the originally scheduled date/ time) and they'd send me an update the next day, which they did, via text - confirming the scheduled appointment date/ time. HOWEVER, the day of the scheduled appointment/ time, no one showed up and I didn't receive any follow-up call, email, text regarding the status. Therefore I contacted them at the numbers provided - first person I spoke with Mario, who had scheduled the original appointment, confirmed it was in their system and scheduled as planned, he'd contact someone to find out the status; after not receiving an update for about 45 minutes, I contacted Porch.com via their 800 number and was told, "sorry can't help you, it appears no one 'accepted' the work, they'd have the project coordinator contact me", there wasn't anything this person could do. I asked for this situation to be escalated, so I could speak with someone who could explain and assist further, but no one ever contacted me. When the Project Coordinator finally called me, about an hour and half AFTER the scheduled appointment and the first things out of their month was "you HAVE an appointment scheduled for today at 9", which of course, I knew, and they were an hour-half late; I was told they couldn't get anyone to come out and the next available appointment would be more than a week later, I declined with more than a little frustration. The Project Coordinator never apologized for the situation and they never called prior to the scheduled appointment to explain the situation and attempt to reschedule. Had I not contacted them, I would not have received any time of follow-up.

They won't stop harassing me!
I never signed up for their service or to receive advertisements. My home inspection company gave my info to these people without my permission. Now porch continues to harass me even after I requested (twice) to be removed from their call list. What a pathetic way to try to drum up business! Really makes me trust them a lot, you think? Why would anyone use these unethical middle-men who pocket the hard earned money of their subcontractors? Hire a handyman directly, don't use these rip-off services who make their money by overcharging you and underpaying their subcontractors.

The actual service was great. Communications sucked
I ordered a desk from Overstock and needed Porch to move and assemble it. Since this was a large item I wanted everything done one the same day.

I got an e-mail back from Porch immediately that Porch would contact me when the delivery date was set. I got a delivery date but did not hear from them. I called customer service was told someone would get back to me in 24-48 hours. 72 hours later, no one had gotten back to me so I called again and was told that I have no order in the system.

We went back and forth and a new order was submitted. I informed them that we were getting very close to the delivery date and I need to make sure we had a moving/setup team. It took until two days before delivery that everything was worked out.

The team that came did a great job and I would recommend them but you need to stay on top of the order to make sure someone will show up.

California contractors need to be careful this company call Porch
California contractors need to be careful this company call Porch. One Rep from Porch his name is Paul call me many times want to sell you the lead, and he says will Guarantee client connection.
I bought two lead from the Porch, and both lead I call more than 3 times and Msg many times no one of the clients responds, not sure Porch sale the real lead or not.
And I call the Rep they give you a tough time they can and find the whatever reasons just don't want to give you $ back, So finally I get nothing back. Leave this review jsut want to all the contractor work hard to make $, don't spend to the Porch, totally waste your time.

Scam
This site scams both the customer and the contractor. The customers usually want to ask questions and get a bid. The contractor can't text or call the customer until Porch pay. Most seem to average $25-40 to get the contact info. I don't think the customers would word their ad the way the do, or even post it, if the knew they wouldn't be contacted unless the other person ponied up $30. I actually paid to get the contact info once because I believe in giving something an honest shot. The name on the voicemail was different than the name on the ad. Granted this could have been the customers fault. But, Porch would not refund my money, I just lost the money.

Good Work / Overcharged
My worker was professional and courteous.
When I called to ask for someone to reinstall my blinds it was estimated at a 3 hour job. I told the person that I could do it myself in 3 hours, so he estimated it would be 2 hours. All 10 of my blinds were installed and the worker was out of my house in 45 minutes. It was a simple job that I couldn't do myself. I expected an adjustment on the charges.

Quick Responses
American provided exactly what I needed. There response was quick and my new gas hot water heater was installed in less than 24 hours. The plumber was very professional and was thoroughly experienced. The install was less than an hour. I highly recommend this company. Thanks to Porch.com

Do not click on this!
If you click on this you will get people calling you from all over the country and not whom you intended it to go to. Stay away from this form. It appears to be phishing because I intended it to be sent to a specific electrician in my town and I got calls, texts and emails from Georgia, Oregon, North and South Jersey. I had to block many calls. Extremely aggravating.

Project Completed
Taylor was great! His work was exceptional. I have reservations about the company because I was quoted one price and was required to pay another. This put me in a terrible position with Taylor. But to make certain that he was paid for his service, I paid the difference. My star selection is for Taylor and his outstanding work.

Poor lead quality and difficult to return non-connection leads
We have been using Porch for a while, the quality of leads are getting really bad. Non-connection leads are a standard norm for them. If you accidentally leaving a message for the customer for over 60 seconds (some people's voice message is long to begin with), even at 61 seconds, Porch consider it a connection made. My advise is don't waste your time or money on their service. Period!

Porch removes honest negative reviews; disregard their distorted contractor ratings
I posted an honest, experience-based negative review of a contractor - it was backed by facts, and provided exhaustive detail. Porch removed it. I thought it was some kind of a glitch - and posted it again. Porch again removed it - only leaving glowing, across the board 5-stars reviews for that contractor. Porch never made any attempts to contact me - even though my contact info was known to them. Another homeowner reached out to me about the same experience, WITH THE SAME CONTRACTOR - his negative review has also been removed; without any explanations. There are multiple negative reviews about the same contractor on different review WEB sites - Yelp, BBB, Google, etc. The only one with glowing reviews across the board is Porch.
Cannot speculate as to the reason why this is being done; make your pick - the net result is the completely dishonest and distorted ratings system.

Shady tactics
Lorena Romo from Porch.com offered to write an article for my website in exchange for a link to her site within the article. However, the article she sent me was an exact copy of an existing one on her site. When I pointed this out and asked her to submit an original article, communication suddenly stopped. I also sent an email to the CEO, but he ignored it as well, which suggests he is aware, and fully supports, Lorena's tactics. This is not someone you can trust.

Not very satisfied with job done
In contacting Porch for a Handyman reference, I was connected with one pretty quickly. Corresponded both by text and phone with the referred handyman, stating I needed to have new bathroom and kitchen sink faucets installed which I provided. We agreed upon a date and price. When he showed up he had his 8 year old son with him, who wasn't a problem but did not think that very professional. The Handyman was very pleasant. He did have to leave twice to go and get parts which prolonged the time I thought it should have taken, ending up my paying for an additional hour plus the parts. I had to clean up debris left behind after he left and in checking the faucets determined that Porch had not been securely anchored or sealed on the top of the sink so that any water accumulating around the faucets during normal use leaked thru and dripped to the cabinet floor. I called right away trying to set up a time for him to return in a timely manner which turned out to be a hassle. After 3 days of trying to have him get here to correct the situation, (he wanted to come in the evening - I don't have service people in my home in the evening) I told him to forget it and will have someone else come to correct the problem. I believe that when a person doing a job and paid well for it and is not done properly, should make it a number one priority to get back as soon as possible to correct the problem. Needless to say this was not a good experience and I hope that the Handyman referred to me by Porch will be dealt with.

Chandelier Installation
I completed my project. I wish when I book the appointment Porch had told me I needed the whole day to be there. First, the guy came late and then he didn't have the necessary equipment needed so he had to go get it at store which he took forever to come back. Anyways I'm glad I had the whole day home or else it wouldn't be done. But I love my chandelier. They did clean up after they finished.

Unhappy
I wanted to have professional guy for my project, so i found this website, but it did not work out, responded repairman did not finish his work and then does not answer on my phone calls. Got in touch with the Porch.com, Porch did not resolve even close my issue, they even did not apologize for.
