You should not advertise this as a free resume builder...
You should not advertise this as a free resume builder if you have to pay to be able to get it! It's a bit scammish to me that I had to pay after inputting all of that information to find out that it is not free. Also, on this feedback section, where it says "Should we follow up to make sure you're satisfied with your order?" it wont even let you click no. Why does it even ask you that question if it is not an option and forces you to click yes and leave an email address?!

"Free" resume...
"Free" resume... nothing free about this. You take all the time to fill out the paper work then when it's time to download it, you need to pay for a subscription. I wouldn't be upset if you just stated that from the start instead of luring people in with "free" resume work. Please dont follow up either, i couldn't submit this rating without clicking that box. If you would like, i could offer some "free" feedback from continued follow up for a small subscription

Your fee should be stated in an upfront and obvious...
Your fee should be stated in an upfront and obvious manner. Saying it is free, and then charging 2.95 on the back end is dishonest and very shady business practice. Also, the auto-renew after 14 days is a crock. If I don't remember to cancel in 14 days, I will then lose 24.95 for absolutely no other reason than to pad your pockets. If you are going to charge me for a download, give me a week without any further obligation.

I really like the program
I really like the program. It was easy to use and the resume looked really sharp. The only thing I didn't like was that it said it was free but then before it would let me download my resume I had to sign up for a 14 day trial offer for $1.95. After the 14 days it's 30 something a month if I don't cancel. I don't really see myself needing a monthly resume service - don't see where many people would. So I'm guessing they're counting on most people forgetting to cancel for at least a month which is where ResumeGenius make their money. I have to admit I haven't used the cover letter part yet though (this opinion box popped up before I had the chance). If it's as good as the resume I could maybe see where holding on to subscription if it takes you a while to find a job might be worth it. It would allow you to write new cover letters for each job and update/tailor your resume (career objectives, ect) for each job. Overall I'm really happy with it, just wish they would have been more upfront about the subscription thing.

I think it's top of the line in terms of a resume building...
I think it's top of the line in terms of a resume building service that takes away the pain and overwhelming feeling that comes with the seemingly impossible tasks for most of making a complete and attractive resume. It's worth the money if of means landing the job you want. I won't say it's the only way to go, but I have tried several companies that offer this service, free and paid alike, and this is the easiest and most hassle free option that I have used. I recommend for anyone who doesn't know where to start. From the time you begin, and After answering a few very clever and easy to answer questions, (the way in which ResumeGenius go about learning the information from you is what makes it so good in my opinion) and before you know it, 15 mins of a headache free process and limited asked effort on your part later, you have exactly what you had in mind or even better, of a resume that highlights your strong suits. I always recommend taking your time and finding the resume builder that suits you and your needs best, but if you don't have the luxury of time or if you are one who just doesn't know where to start and feel overwhelmed and looking for one that takes the effort and frustration out of it, you won't regret resume genius I assure you. That's my humble but well experienced opinion.

Only Cares about taking your money
I'm a college student and I needed an affordable resume builder. I paid $2 and without knowing ResumeGenius kept me on a subscription. They charge my card for $25, money is tight due to covid. I'm a college student in debt. That $25 was my meal for a week. I explain them my situation, they just kept offering me deals on their website. They didn't care at all. "We can't give you you're money back but a deal for next time you subscribe and tell your family members about resume ". NO HUMAN Decency.

Real crappy that nothing states that we have to pay...
Real crappy that nothing states that we have to pay for the resume UNTIL AFTER we spent a very long time making it. Not to mention there are barely any options for jobs. I couldn't find anything listed for Gamemaster of an escape room, not even anything in the Entertainment industry that might have been relevant. So all that time and not even the job descriptions I needed PLUS I have to pay! This website comes up under search for FREE resume builder but it's not free! What a scam!

Site advertises as free, you work on your resume for a long period of time only to be forced to pay to download your updated resume. ResumeGenius know that after getting you to rework your resume you will pay them to avoid having to do it all again. I truly believe that companies who rely on dishonesty to get customers don't prosper in the end. Its better to be upfront than to lose customers with false advertising. I will be using a different resume builder going forward on principle alone

Didn't realize it required a subscription until fully completing my resume. Did not see the option to at least go back and retrieve all the information I entered in the event I did not want to pay. Navigation when editing was a little touchy. Template options seem to be limited.

Great sections and choices available for the responsibilities section, which was probably the best part of the site. Lots of options that were worded perfectly for what I needed.

$3 to download a resume from a quality builder makes a lot of sense, but $30/mo is really expensive. And questionable, considering that I am not going to be continually looking for a job, so I'm confused as to why? If anything, this fact alone makes me wary of coming back, for fear of getting charged a high fee. To me, it seems to make more sense to go with a different pay model. I would be happy to discuss this. *******689

Aside from this, the experience is very nice, and extremely professional.

This experience was amazing!
This experience was amazing! Wow what a help you guys are! I LOVED my final outcome! Guys, all i did was fill out my basic info, dates, job titles, places i've worked, etc and ResumeGenius prepared a BEAUTIFUL resume for me! I only had to pay $ 2.95 today for a free 14 day trial. Then if i choose not to keep my membership they won't charge me again. I mean I'm floored how it turned out! Oh yea and it only took 30 minutes maxium and i enjoyed a COCKtail while doing it! Woohoo! I FINALLY have an updated resume!

I was under the impression that this service was providing me a "free" resume template. But when I went to download it after already investing 40 minutes creating the resume, I could not download the resume I had created unless I paid the $24.95 fee. It's enraging. It feels like trickery. I've gone ahead and paid the fee because I appreciate the template and I need the resume. But this feels very dishonest and leaves me feeling like I've had a terribly dishonest service here :(

This website has a great base, but I think you should do more research into what makes for good work experience bullet points and include power words. And the automated "career objectives" are VERY formulaic, which is fine but the formula used sounds bland. Maybe you could have a few different styles of paragraph templates and they'd produce different results.

Totally spit-balling here: I wonder if maybe you guys could look into using AI to help with some of the bland formulaic parts of the template.

Not sure why there was 2 charges from your company
Not sure why there was 2 charges from your company. If you advertise fast service, you should probably consider that the customer does not have the time to read fine print to search for hidden charges. Unless that is what your aiming for in hopes that people dont have the time to ready 14 pages of legal jargon and loopholes you include so that you cant get hit with random complaints or FCC, FTC or AG complaints. Honesty and transparency go a very long way in the customer service industry. Hopefully you plan to be more transparent about charging your customers. Even if it is only. 98 cents, its the principal of the matter!

You website is completely misleading in posting that...
You website is completely misleading in posting that it is Free. You should absolutely let people know prior to building their resume that the building portion is free, but the download and printing will cost a small nominal fee. Many will still move forward with the process but will feel less duped and tricked at the end. It is truly a shame to feel tricked in the end because the resume builder itself is outstanding but the customer experience is damaged by the sales tactics you choose to employ.

I chose to use this service to have a more professional...
I chose to use this service to have a more professional resume. Your upload function butchered my uploaded file, requiring numerous edits to the original word file before your system properly formatted it. The process took about an hour with a mostly complete resume to start with. Then, despite reviews and advertising claiming it is free, I was still required to pay to download my resume after putting in the work. That makes me feel manipulated. If you have some valuable services to sell me beyond formatting information I've already written, great. But don't hook me with lies.

Should be upfront about costs
Resume Genius makes it quite easy and comfortable to make a resume. The problem lies when I am finished and try to download my resume to my computer. All of a sudden I have to pay. Why not be upfront about the costs instead of holding resumes for ransom? It is ridiculous! I unfortunately still paid for it because I did not want to start all over. Cancelled my subscription as soon as I could, hopefully there is no trouble with that.

The resume builder was GREAT!
The resume builder was GREAT! Easy to use and quick! Why 2 stars? ResumeGenius listed this as a "free" download, but once I finished my resume it is NOT free! There is a charge and subscription that must be canceled after you download your resume! Only your COVER page is free! Misleading and deceptive advertising! I would have given them one star, but the builder really was great, with several excellent template options.

The only reason there isn't a 5th star is because I built a resume, went to checkout, entered card info then it booted me. I remade the whole thing and got to checkout and got booted as soon as I hit continue and I had to restart all over again. However, third time's a charm! So the missing star is my first two attempts and the four present stars represent how thrilled I am to have used this website! ALSO... it said free but at the end, ResumeGenius want your money. BBUUTT... it's like two dollars. Good enough for my house!

The website itself is fantastic, making a resume is absurdly easy and the templates are beautiful. However, its limited in the ability to edit templates once ResumeGenius are made. Part of my resume was class experience and I cant add a section describing my work in those classes. Small complaint but I imagine I'm not the only one to have this problem. Also, they don't tell you it costs money at the outset. Its cheap, but a statement beforehand would be moral.
